OOCOh oh, Koth, tread carefully. I believe this is Xom's 'complications' if we ever invaded Sector 3.Also, yay, page seventy. Thirty more pages to page one hundred!

IC [Citamgine/Nilshera]So they honor their word. "Our thanks. The Natsirt Coalition also wanted to discuss travel with the Pact. Our worlds have been lost to atomic fire; my people have no home now. We wish to know how our travel into Pact space would be treated; while attempts will be made to keep the Natsirt population centralized to aid in our regrowth, we will not impose it on the few who live. Our species will spread out across the stars like the nomads and sailors of ancient times, and many will view the Pact as a place to gain citizenship, to live out their lives in peace."

OOC: I'm guessing the Natsirt view the Alizarin as the leaders of the Pact? There are Diemawr present in 1-40 who have 40 captured Natsirt.

IC:In 3-15, the Kalarii were greeted by an amazing sight. There was a planet in the system which was thickly ringed satellites. Signs of decay showed through, however; a thick cloud of crystalline dust held around the planet, slowly being blown away by solar wind while satellites spun and crashed through the skies. Each satellite, spectroscopic analysis would show, was nearly pure carbon, in crystalline form. Magnificent towers adorned the world below, seemingly grown of the same crystal. The atmosphere was mixed but showed a strong Radon band, of some stable isotope.

OOCSo far all Natsirt dealings with the Pact have been with the Pact as whole or the Alizarin; dealings with the Diemawr only happened with a few businesspersons, and the Natsirt, as I've made oh-so-clear, would sooner bite off their tongue then negotiate POWs from the Treanuans. So yeah, the Natsirt view the Alizarin as the leaders. Also, what is this? The crystal dolphin's homeworld?

IC(3-15): The Eversmanii group spent a while scanning the planet and the surrounding debris, then sent the data off to the home sector for analysis. Another while later, the group was ordered to move in and investigate this strange phenomenon.OOC: lol Alex, that's what I thought at first (more the Hortla though), but they weren't carbon afaik.

IC:A silent world is an odd prospect. There were no signs of war or annihilation, but the world seemed to be completely and utterly devoid of life forms. There were no databanks, no libraries. No information to be gathered. The world was simply empty. The Kalarii have gained access to Hortla Crystal. PMing properties to Koth.

IC [Citamgine/Nilshera]"So you invade our worlds and indirectly cause the destruction of our species... and we cannot even visit our conqueror's house." A sigh came over the transmission. "Tread lightly on our worlds, Alizarin. We are not a religious people, but the deaths of that many... the universe simply does not let an event like that pass without it observing it. Citamgine is a graveyard, and respecting the dead present would be a wise precaution."OOCEven wiser if any robotic sentries survived and/or were activated when the Alizarin began tampering with the Haven bunkers.

IC [Citamgine/Nilshera]"You lost two ambassadors; we lost the highest leader in our government. You act as if you were deeply sinned by this attack, when we Natsirt were wounded the worse by it. Do you know what happened after that attack? Of course you don't. Thousands of suspected terrorists were arrested, many of whom were innocent, because we didn't want a war. The government wanted someone to drag out into the light to show you that they could manage things, to show the public that there'd be peace in our time... and instead we get the annihilation of forty billion. And your people act as if we are at fault here."

IC: "If you wanted to avert a war perhaps you should have told us this. Instead you give us the impression that you cannot control your own people. That you are dangerous and out of control, loose cannons. And lest you forget, the annihilation was not at our hands. That was your government as well. They lie, cheat and manipulate and we could see them becoming an ever growing threat. A threat we sought to remove. Seek refuge elsewhere, Natsirt, you have many stars to choose from."

IC [Citamgine/Nilshera]"You get this from one terrorist attack? The act of a few justified the conquering of billions? War may not be fair aliens, but your actions show less of a humble race attempting to save itself, and more of a warrior who cannot clinch his own blood lust. Your actions mirror our own dishonorable actions in attacking your worlds as a preemptive strike. I can see why our few remaining leaders decided to flee this galaxy for the gulf of burnspace; this galaxy have no refugee against the likes of you."The ship promptly jumped out of the system, not even bothering to pick up the prisoners. It told the Alizarin exactly what they would face; a proud race, bloodied by it's own sword and laying on the ground, crying while it screamed at the sky. The Natsirt were broken, the Coalition having no real authority, and the species would simply survive as those who wandered the night, never knowing where to go.

IC(1-40): Aboard the Gryman, the General of the Armies strode in front of a group of 40 Natsirt prisoners, with a heavy guard of exoskeleton-wearing soldiers surrounding them. Looking at each prisoner in turn, the General spoke."You have faced the Diemawr as enemy combatants, but were captured by us in your escape pods as your ships burned. By the rules of warfare, this means that you have been reclassified as civilians, and are not to be fired upon. Due to the dishonorable self-destruction of your homeworlds, you cannot be returned there. It is our preference to integrate you into our society as many of the Syrrinx were, but the decision rests with you. Should you wish for a death in combat, that may be arranged. If you wish to be returned to the remains of your race, we will do our best to see that happen. If it is your desire to become a part of the Diemawr Empire, we will do our best to integrate you into our society and, if you wish, our military. I cannot guarantee that any of these options will be easy, but they are options, and that is more than your government gave those on the planet below."

IC [Gryman/Crew]Practical all the decisions were quick; ten wished to die in combat, ten wished to be returned to TAP space, twenty wished to be integrated into Diemawr society of which seven wished to join the Diemawr military. There was a request from those who wished to join the Diemawr Empire to be allowed to be given supplies from the Natsirt outposts on TAP worlds, to collect the few tokens of Natsirt life that remained before leaving for a new society.

IC(1-40, General of the Armies): The General acknowledged the decisions, and sent a message up to the ship's command center."Send a message to the nearest TAP-controlled planet, let them know that we have ten Natsirt who wish to find somewhere to live within their space and twenty more who wish to retrieve personal tokens before beginning a new life within the Diemawr Empire."The General waited for confirmation on the order, then closed the comm."As for the rest of you, you will be given time to choose the manner of your departure from this world."

OOCDo the Diemawr believe in any sort of afterlife?IC [Gryman/Crew]The crewmembers who had chosen death asked for the nearest equivalent of ancient Natsirt fights to the death, where two or more Natsirt would engage in fights for the entertainment of others. Extremely good source of business, and was only eventually outlawed because too many soldiers died in the ring. It would give them a proper warrior's death; fighting the enemy to the best of their abilities until their abilities faltered and they died.

OOC: There isn't a single Diemawr religion, so it's a yes/no kind of thing. Some of them do, some of them don't. The General of the Armies believes that the afterlife is quite literally the world from your dreams, and is fully shaped by all of your thoughts.IC(General of the Armies): This request was acknowledged, and the prisoners were informed that it would be granted as soon as the Gryman could return to Diemawr space.

OOC: What if I just broke into the Haven bunkers?IC: The Syrrinx were led into a main hangar, where several ships, both civilian and government were docked. Standing above all were two mechs- one bipedal, one four-legged.We have here an example of a Treanuan mech, as well as a Bivali one, flashed their guide as a group of Bivali walked towards them, clawed feet making dull clicks in thewater. The Sui'Malo turned to the second mech, indicating it with a tentacle. The design was fluid, and rather aesthetically pleasing. It stood on four legs, which held its weight quite well. Four arms extended off the long torso, the lower pair equipped with two long missile launchers, while the upper pair had two MACs, which were apparently quite durable, or at least able to take some punishment, due to each having a long blade coming off of it.  On the shoulders were two magnetic chainguns, extending out past the "head", which was swept back gently. In all, it looked rather like a tall, metal Sui'Malo. A hatch on the front of the head moved back, revealing the pilot, which was, as to be expected, a Sui'Malo. What do you think of this design? The weapons can be desmonstrated should you desire.

IC: The legs contain all necessary hydraulics and supports for it to be able to move as well on land as it does on water. They are armored heavily to prevent separation. We would show you right now, but it would involve removing it from the lake, which would be a little out of the way. Actually...He held up a square piece of coral membrane, on which an image appeared- film of the walker moving across mountainous terrain, the four legs allowing it to stay upright with no trouble. It then moved on to a flatter section of land, and a cross-section showed how it stayed supported as it walked- quite quickly for a four-legged walker.

Well, would you just look at that?

IC:Momentarily interfacing with the Trenuan's holoprojector, the Syrrinx, in response, generated an image of one of their heavy mechs."A bipedal mech is a better solution. It can easily outstrip a quadromech, and the reduced terrain capability can be compensated for with jump jets. Your only advantage is slightly more firepower per ton, but firepower is no good if it's in the wrong place."

OOCWell, breaking into the Haven bunkers means fighting a handful of robotic sentries, needing to decrypt the passcodes, but other than that you still get the juicy tech inside. Also, the Natsirt hate you even more for breaking into one of their cultural treasures.

OOC: Ynys-o-Aur upgraded to a Protectorate, bringing my industry up to 35. Not too shabby. Also, it should be noted that quadrupedal mechs are fine for defending bases. Their relative lack of speed is compensated for by the fact that they're a somewhat more stable firing platform than a bipedal mech, so you get a bit more dakka. It's like how, on flat ground, a 100-ton tank is better than a 100-ton mech.

IC: A Treanuan squad was sent down to infiltrate a haven bunker. Five Sui'Malo, Five Bivali. They reached the front, setting explosives to blow the entrance open before backing off. When this was done, they headed in, weapons ready.IC: Well, as you can see, my race walks on four legs. It is the most natural way to us. However, the Bivali use bipedal mechs. I will let them show you theirs. The group of Bivali reached them, the lead one bowing slightly at the waist, then beginning to speak through hand signs, as the Bivali did underwater.Welcome. This is our mech, the Harno 6.The mech was tall, bipedal, and titanium armored. However, even the armor was different from its Treanuan counterpart- not as smooth or flowing, but blockier. However, it was still impressive, as were the shoulder mounted missile launchers and the massive cannons it carried. It had blades, like the Treanuan mech, on each of its cannons. It crouched, bending as low as possible, and the head opened, revealing the Bivali pilot. What are your thoughts on this?

Well, would you just look at that?

OOCExplosives?Boy, the Haven Bunkers were built to survive nuclear war. You'll have to get through solid titanium-tungsten blast doors. I suggest the more reasonable course of action; stick a computer on there and hack your way through two hundred year old security protocols. If processing power increases exponentially every year, then current day computing tech should be light years ahead of the stuff they used in the past. No way to shut down the robotic drones of course, but the actual door lock? That's childs play for folks in this time.

OOC: The best word I can find for the Treanuan mechs is "stravag". The blades seem impractical, smooth armor is a bad idea, and it seems to me that more attention is paid to aesthetics than practical concerns. A big ugly Caledfwelch would eat one of them alive.Out of curiosity, though, what's the tonnage on those mechs?
