  1. ######, this is really good. Kept it toa-sized and uncomplicated, yet it really looks unique.
  2. Thank you. There are definitely a few areas that I wanted to put more time into, especially the hands. I may need to put in a brinklink order soon as I just don't have the pieces I need at the moment. I also lost one of the green fins on the shoulder, but I kept the asymmetrical look since it still looks good. Shoulder armor is usually the asymmetrical part on many builds anyway.
  3. This is beautiful. I really like the way you used the bricks that appear on this model, they don't clash with the bionicle/technic look at all.
  4. You nailed the color scheme. The limbs are very creative as well.
  5. When I think of G1, I think of the warrior/titan sets. G2 (so far) has been unable to deliver anything as complex or stunning as these sets, which were no doubt the best that the Bionicle line had to offer. I have created something that relies heavily on a technic skeleton (like '01 to '05 titans) as well as leg pistons for support ('06 onward), while trying to capture that outer aesthetic that is unmistakably Gen1. So, this is my entry to the contest, 'Makuta Hunter' Most do not know his name (not even I do!) but the Makuta Hunter is a being of great power and mystique. It is said that he was created from a lowly matoran whose village was decimated by the likes of the Makuta. He has been given strength and power beyond that of even the greatest toa heroes, for the sole purpose of hunting and destroying the Makuta that plague the peaceful existence that the denizens of the matoran universe so greatly deserve. He stands here with an artifact known as the Contortionist's Sceptre, no doubt a prize seized from the claws of an unworthy Makuta. The green tubes are from hero factory meltdown. The MOC stands about 11.5 inches tall at the top of the green mask.
  6. I hope we get another big set like the destroyer. I miss the days when there was like a trio of titans with a more technic build.
  7. Goes way back to the beginning. I like it. You should at a tail though, to make it more shark-ish.
  8. This contest looks like a good way for me to get back into the forums...been a while since I logged in, but I'm always lurking. Hope I can finish my moc soon, got to figure out something good for the hands.
  9. first wave was very nice, these are just as good! especially love the colors you chose.
  10. I had the same idea about the new villains, glad to see I'm not alone. Its probably because the skeletal-themed villains evoke the idea of being un-dead. I do have a feeling they are some kind of resurrected warrior, and I hope Lego ends up going with that story line. I can kinda see how the skull guys would be fallen versions of the toa, as each shares characteristics with the toa whose mask the set comes with. warrior & kopaka: the warrior is an archer, so like kopaka you could say both have the ability to judge an object's position at long distances slicer & lewa: both seem quite agile basher & onua: they lift, as in both have a very bulky build scorpio & pohatu: when most people think of scorpions, they think of the desert I hope the tahu and gali masks come with some sort of titan, miss the big bionicle sets
  11. Since this will be my first post on the forums, I think I'll start off with a little bit about me. I've been a fan of bionicle since the very beginning and have been collecting since 2001, although the only set I have from then is tahu. I've taken a long hiatus from bionicle since the line ended in 2010, and have not been buying anything although I did build some stuff from time to time. So with the new line of bionicles you could say my interest has been revitalized a little bit Anyway, I found this unfinished moc in the bottom of my brick bin and I decided to finish it today. And now that I did, I'm sharing with the forums. http://s1074.photobucket.com/user/aDarkEmptyRoom/library/bionicle I had some problems with certain types of parts running out, but overall I think it turned out ok. Been out of loop for a while so I may be a little rusty. Not sure to deconstruct it and keep mocing or just rebuild some of my old sets...
