IC (As Fulmen): "A tablet?" The Vo-Matoran's eye lit up in excitement. "Wow, I want a tablet now. You're so lucky, they're really expensive to get." Said the lightning matoran, grinning widely. "When did you come to Le-Koro, Let?"

 

IC: D'let

 

 "I came here....a-a while ago? I d-don't remember. It has been some time." D'let said quietly, stowing the tablet again. He drew his hands together in front of his chest, and was picking at them, either deep in thought or just trying to avoid conversation.

IC: "Fair enough." Doseki said replying to his fellow Po-Matoran. He then turned his attention to the Toa of Ice who was currently the only one who knew where the offending Toa was currently held up. "So, do you mind escorting us and some of the Gukko force to your place so that we can apprehend the suspect so that he may receive proper medical care and answer for his action once he has become able." Doseki was going to have to retrieve his things from Talu's Hut as he remembered leaving his pack next to the hammock that was going to be his bed.

IC Haraki:

 

"I'm a doctor. I know what I'm doing. He's in no mental or physical condition to stand trial. He needs help, not a hangman."

IC - Beosach:

 

"I see you fail to understand what we're saying. Even if he is unfit to stand trial - which, I agree, he likely is - he is still a danger to the public. He will need to be incarcerated in some fashion, be it in hospital or prison, to protect the general public, himself, and so that he can get the help he needs," Beosach said, pinching the bridge of his nose in frustration. "Take us to him and please stop arguing, or I'll have to question someone with your seeming capacity for ignorance managed to become a doctor in the first place."

Kunitu had appeared, as was the duty of a guard chasing after a dangerous criminal.

 

"He looks horrible."

IC: While Doseki completely agreed with his fellow Po-Matoran up until the point he tried to question the Ko-Toa's credentials. It was best not to agitate the Toa who would trap you in permafrost for now and until the Great Spirit Mata Nui's return. "I will have to agree with my Cohort here. If at the very least you allow someone of proper training to maintain a perimeter around your place so that this Toa does not escape and plague anyone else. I have traveled here from Ta-Wahi and I have to tell you this jungle is no place for an injured party. Even a Toa would be picked off easily by the wild Rahi down there." Doseki emphasized his last point by looking over the edge. Yeah that was a long way down. His mind also flashed to his own Rahi Scorpio; who was still missing and down there somewhere fending for himself.

Anirax glanced around. Sure, one lift would be easier to guard, but traffic would also be achingly slow. She remembered the shape of the lift that had dive-bombed the lake and lost.

Hmmmm...

There. Another one. Sure enough, there was even a vine of some sort leading back up.

"Hey, you up there. Why don't we just take the lift?" She pointed to the suspended device.

IC (As Fulmen): "You're a shy skakdi, aren't you?" Replied the Vo-Matoran. "So... Um... Before Makuta attacked, what did you like to do?"

Anirax glanced around. Sure, one lift would be easier to guard, but traffic would also be achingly slow. She remembered the shape of the lift that had dive-bombed the lake and lost. Hmmmm...

IC (As Adamas): "Nice work pointing that out, I was going to form a crystal slide and spend a lot of elemental energy." The crystal toa replied with a smile. "Let's go to the lift and find the owner of the scorpion, I don't want it to be frozen anymore."

"I think there's been a misunderstanding in our communication. Yes, he should be locked up. But a jail cell wouldn't do him much good. He needs massive amounts of psychological care and-"

 

CRASH bang KERCLANG!

 

Haraki rushed over to the edge of the platform and saw Rahkiir running away from her hut. Thinking fast, Haraki shot a bolt of ice at him, freezing his feet to the ground.

 

"You know what? We can sort that out later. Gentlemen, after you..."

D'let didn't respond to the first question, but to the second, "I built th-things. In Onu-Koro. I ha-had to leave when the Rahksheee came..."

IC (As Fulmen): "Same, I used to be an inventor, but I didn't give my gadgets to other people. I left my home when there were dangerous Rahi on the loose." Said Fulmen as he felt pity for the Skakdi.

That perked D'let's interest. Another inventor? "What did you build?" D'Let asked, making eye contact.

IC (As Fulmen): "My gadgets aren't revolutionary, they're just simply homemade versions of Onu-Koro gadgets. However, I believe there is one invention that they still haven't created yet." Said Fulmen as he opened his backpack and took out a torch. "It's a flashlight. Flick the switch and it will light up the darkness. It's brighter than a lightstone and lasts longer too."

IC - Beosach:

 

"Considering I've been including a hospital or similar facility in my every suggestion thus far, obviously it is you who wasn't listening," Beosach muttered, shaking his head. After a moment he slammed what would normally be called the beard of his axe into the platform, grasped the haft and slid down it before releasing the axe from its placement at the last second, dropping a harmless few feet to the platform below. He then quickly jogged over to Rahkiir, his axe held up and ready to be used if needed.

 

"Can you just surrender now, or do we have to go through this all again?"

 D'let eyed the object with some interest. Hadn't he seen one of these before? In Ga-Koro? Maybe this Matoran did invent them, and others had stolen the design. D'let shrugged internally. "C-cool."

IC Rahkiir & Haraki:

 

Haraki once again took the elevator down, and caught up with Beosach and Rahkiir.

 

"Never! I won't-what is she doing?"

 

Haraki entered her hut and just a few moments later retrieved what appeared to be some form of perfume bottle.

 

"Now, will you come peacefully or should I have to break out the big girl gun?"

 

"Heh! You think you can take me?"

 

"Actually, yes. Beosach, cover your nose."

 

Haraki pointed the bottle at Rahkiir and sprayed it. In an instant, he passed out.

 

"Wow. That's... pretty cool. Shame that was my last bottle. That stuff is rare. As in Toa Stone doing a traditional tribal dance rare."

 

Haraki turned to the Po-Matoran. "I'm a healer. We do a lot of apothecarial services for both others and ourselves. Now, does anyone here have a torch or an ice pick or something?"

IC: Komae [Le-Koro]

 

"Would this do the trick?" The Matoran pulled the stone knife he always carried from his belt.  "I'm afraid the only person with a torch is currently unconscious."  He looked to Rahkiir and shook his head.  What an embarrassment.

"Go ahead, Rocky."

Anirax smiled. Well, that would save her having to climb. Which was a good thing. Bringing her cloak around so as to cover up virtually everything save her head, Anirax wandered over to the gently swinging contraption, stepping inside and turning.

IC - Beosach:

 

Beosach completely ignored what both people were talking about, and now that he had nothing to worry about regarding his level of consciousness, he simply began breaking the ice around Rahkiir's feet and ankles with the butt spike on his Lochaber, using it quite like an ice pick with an extra long handle.

OOC: Po-Matoran Doseki

IC: Doseki looked over the platform and noticed the injured Toa trying to make a break for it. "Well I guess the rest of my gear will have to wait." Doseki said as he followed the other Po-Matoran and Ko-Toa Haraki down to where Rahkiir was frozen in place. "That was a very nice shot Toa." Doseaki said in reference to her pinpoint accuracy with her Ice powers. Doseki had his Climbing Claws on him but the ropes and the rest of his gear were all in his bag in Talu's Hut. Grabbing one off his back he started helping to clear the Ice fro the Toa of Fire's legs. "So what was that stuff you used to knock him out?"

He glanced at the Matoran's Evil Eye and rolled his own.

Taking a chute up to the Koro in the treetops, the Lesterin began roaming around, occasionally wiping a smudge off of his weapon's casing.

 D'let eyed the object with some interest. Hadn't he seen one of these before? In Ga-Koro? Maybe this Matoran did invent them, and others had stolen the design. D'let shrugged internally. "C-cool."

IC (As Fulmen): "It's pretty useful, isn't it?" The Vo-matoran replied with a smile. "What gadgets do you still have when you worked in Onu-Koro?" Fulmen asked out of curiosity.

 

IC: Anirax

IC (As Adamas): The toa of crystal climbed down the tree using the hand and footholds she created and ran towards Anarix. "Is the lift working or do we have to get up this vine the hard way?" Asked the crystal toa as she stepped into the elevator.

"One way to find out." She turned, spotting what appeared to be controls. Pushing a lever(OOC: I presume it's a lever?), she waited for a moment.

 

With a slight jerk it started to climb up.

"Well. We found out."

[Naota Takizawa]

IC (As Adamas): "This is slow, but at least it's faster than tree climbing or making a bridge out of elemental powers." Said Adamas as she looked down. "This is off topic, but do you think there's any treasures in Le-Wahi?"

IC: Anirax

Anirax shrugged. "Depends on your perspective. I'd say if there were, they're probably sunk under the surface and too hazardous to risk trying to get. Why?"

[Naota Takizawa]

IC (As Adamas): "I've wanted to be a treasure hunter since I was a matoran." Said the toa as she looked at Anarix. "I thought Le-Koro would have all kinds of ancient ruins and treasures."

IC: Doseki looked over at the Toa of Air as she suggested taking the Toa prisoner via Gukko Bird. "That could be a good option Toa. We may want to make sure he is stable before taking him airborne however." Doseki could see the wound to Rahkiir's leg and from what he could tell it could reopen if stressed enough. "It would do him no good to stand trial for his crime if he isn't around to stand trial for his crime. Do you have a secure location in mind where he could be placed and receive both proper medical care and an armed guard?" Doseki hoped his comment about proper medical care did not offend the Toa if Ice as it was not meant as a derogatory remark upon her current medical care of Toa Rahkiir.

OOC: Nui-Jaga Scorpio

 

IC: The Jungle heat and humidity of Le-Wahi was doing its fair share of damage to the Ice that kept Scorpio trapped in his crystal prison. It had nearly completely melted freeing the Nui-Jaga's body and allowing him to back out of the hole he was creating. Taking his tail he smashed it against one of the crystal formations and managed to clear the remainder of Ice from his tail. Scorpio also learned that these new formations were stronger than the first one the Toa had attacked him with. Looking around he also noticed that the two Toa were indeed gone. Fled for their lives perhaps. He could still smell them however. They must have gone for reinforcements.

Unfortunately, Haraki did take offence to that.

 

"Stand trial? STAND TRIAL?! The man is clinically insane, he can't 'stand trial!' Have you lost your Karzing MINDS?! You don't put a crazy person in a prison, you keep him in a hospital until he's recovered!"

IC - Beosach:

 

"Think about it this way. We send him to stand trial, his defence mentions how he is insane and therefore unfit to actually stand trial, and he gets commited to a hospital under armed guard for the rest of his life - or at least until he is rehabilited - and then is allowed to go free. Or he's dead. And he got the care he needed, three good meals a day, a great bed to sleep on, and he won't be able to hurt anybody else or have anybody hurt him." Beosach turned from where he was chipping away at the ice around Rahkiir's ankles to face Haraki, annoyance present upon his features.

 

"If you were actually a doctor, you'd know that's what happens, quite often, because it's what makes it possible to ensure the protection of the public from him and him from the public. Given your reactions to this single issue every time it has been brought up, I'm beginning to wonder if you're actually a doctor and able to practice and anything like that. Of course, given that you don't seem to work for the hospital in this Koro, that seems to actually be the correct assumption."

IC: Doseki looked over at the Toa of Ice as she was clearly upset about what he had just said. "With all do respect Toa, I do not believe this man is clinically Insane just because he had attacked several villagers due to a difference of opinion. If that were true all criminals would be automatically classified as clinically insane. Just the same I also do not believe it is your place or mine to judge if he is fit to stand trial." Doseki looked over at Beosach and then back to Toa Haraki, "My fellow Po-Matoran has a point. If he is found to be unfit to answer for his crimes then he would instead be placed in a facility where he could get the help he needs. Either way both he and the public at large would be safe." Doseki was not even sure if such a facility even existed on Mata Nui. "You may be a good medical practitioner even if it is a private practice. But I don't believe you have a capacity to judge one's mental state."

IC Haraki:

 

"I've spent a long while around the sick and insane. Do you know how often a jury or judge buys the 'insane' defense? I've never seen it happen. Not here, not in Ko-Koro, nowhere. He's gonna get sent to jail and is probably going to end up hurting someone else. The only way to ensure that doesn't happen is to make sure there is no trial, alright?"

 

"Halak, that's the name he gave me, suffers from bouts of paranoid schizophrenia, antisocial personality disorder, sociopathy, psychopathy... The man's a walking fruitbasket. His self-destructive behavior will get him killed if he doesn't receive proper treatment."

 

"And, by the way, I've spent my entire life helping the sick and mentally ill. I know a crazy man when I see him. Don't tell me I'm unfit to judge someone's mental state, Mr. Policeman. I think I'm a bit more adept in this field than you are."

 

OOC: In case you haven't noticed, Haraki is a bit of a protective person. Sad part is that she's both totally right and completely and utterly wrong.

OOC: Such facilities do exist, to an extent - Ta-Koro used to have a hospital and Le-Koro does now. I'm sure they get to deal with things like this more often than you'd think. xP

 

IC - Beosach:

 

"I feel like you're underestimating the perceptiveness and compassion of Akiri Kongu," Beosach replied to Haraki. "Regardless, here's another thing. The policeman here is a guardsman. Of a different Koro, but his oaths to protect others still apply. Same with myself, and the Toa of Air right behind us definitely gets to help. You're a doctor. Your drive to aid those who are sick is admirable, but you're still a doctor, and I highly doubt your capacity to understand the necessity to have this madman be declared as such by somebody whose primary practice relates to his mental disorders, or at least be declared as such by the Akiri. Right now, you're simply helping to perpetuate the problem."

 

Beosach's mouth set in a hard line, as he stepped between Rahkiir and Haraki. "And, believe it or not, I have, in fact, served as a guard myself, and still do, in Po-Koro's reserve forces. Beyond that, this man attacked me. He attacked my friend. He caused quite a bit of damage. He has to be put away and put under guard to ensure that he won't harm others, and if that is done, then he will get the help he needs. As such, I am going to have to ask you to stand down and return to your abode and let us take care of him from here on out." He nodded at Haraki's hut.

 

"Go."

"You know what? Fine. Do what you want. It's all the same everywhere. People need help, but the so-called 'law enforcement' refuses to help them. We'll see what tune you're singing once I get the Akiri on your backs."

 

Haraki was furious. How dare these people refuse to help a sick man? It's absurd!

 

She walked into her hut and collapsed on her bed, but got up once she saw the strange, ornate leatherbound book.

 

"The... Book of... Rahvok... Peculiar, but alright, let's give it a read. Can't be any worse than Heroes of Kini-Nui. Horrible sequel. This has to be better than that, at least."

IC: NPC Gukko-Forcemen - Below Center-square

 

"What is going on here?" A voice called, just as Haraki had left in the opposite direction. Two Forcemen stepped out into the area. The tallest Matoran of the two was the speaker, "There was a disturbance in this area."

 A puzzled look grew over the Skakdi's face as he thought about the question. He used a lot of tools and interesting machinery in Onu-Koro. They called it the tech capital of the island. Just talking about it made D'let want to go back to Onu-Koro. Or maybe Ga-Koro, join up with a ship. "It-it's been a while, F-f-fulmen."

IC - Beosach:

 

"The currently unconscious Toa decided to attack myself and a friend of mine with fire because we didn't agree with his religion," Beosach told the two guards. "We attempted to subdue him and he attempted to escape. The so-called doctor you just saw leaving had something to knock him out, but seems unwilling to see reason." Beosach looked down at Rahkiir, noting the lack of possessions on him that he had had on him just a little while ago.

 

"I'm fairly certain his possessions are in the hut that the 'doctor' just went to, so you might want to retrieve those. Other than that, this man - Rahkiir, his name is, supposedly - needs to be taken to the hospital and put under guard. He's both wounded and, I do believe, insane."

IC: NPC Gukko-Forcemen - Below Center-square

 

Both guards moved to pick up the alleged attacker. With a grunt, the tall one asked, "Are you saying this Rahkiir, stole this toa's belongings?"

"No, this Rahkiir guy here left his things in Haraki's hut. His own possessions. They were on him earlier but aren't now, so I assume they're left in there, considering that's where he just was before trying to escape."
