Wow, this just gets weirder and weirder.

Anyways, I found CGI images of the allegedly cancelled Chima constraction figs on this site(via Eurobricks).

So many amazing pieces! I really hope these come out so I can get some of that trans-light blue and the armor pieces. It seems like they should be released, as we have a lot more evidence of them than the other Chima sets we're pretty sure are being released, unless it's a Europe-only release or something like that.

Oooh, good find! These look like awesome sets, and I would personally buy a couple of them. And I agree with Click. These sets feel like they should be released. I mean, we know what they look like, we know when they would have been released, and there are even images of the stinkin' packaging, for Makuta's sake! This had better be a temporary decision and they decide to release these sets in time.

Although, it's kinda suspicious. They put a lot of work into a whole line of sets that could even work as a standalone theme and release preliminary images, yet they're called off for whatever reason. Strange.

For some reason I think if these sets were released, I would have bought all of them. I might have been able to convince myself to pass on Cragger and Worriz, but that shield on Laval...*gawks*. The birds look good, and that axe...look at that.

Still, they have a "preliminary" look to them, in a way that's too good to be true. Trans-blue and trans-orange limb pieces? That much? I know Jaw Beast had a bunch, but still. And seriously, no way is Lego releasing Laval's shield for real. That printing is got to cost. There are too many new molds, too many recolors, too much amazing stuff. I don't know how they got that far in production before some prudent guy looked at it and yelled about how much it would cost.

Still, if by some miracle they make it into production...I think I might actually get one...or two...

They're available for pre-order on Amazon France.

I could be wrong here, but I think that's pretty conclusive evidence to indicate their impending release. :P

EDIT: Even better! Amazon.co.uk has them too!

I wouldn't jump to any conclusions, Amazon very commonly puts things up by mistake and then quickly removes them, sometimes figure preorders that get cancelled or they put something up before it's street date and take it down later. The only glimmer of hope here is the fact that the CGI pictures exist, but once again that is customary to have those done near Toy Fair.

The pieces on these things are beautiful, especially the dark tan shells on the ice vulture thing, as well as Cragger's mata-green shells.

This actually makes me want to preorder them. I just hope they aren't a mistake that'll be taken down.

I have asked some people at LEGO, but they do not have any new information to share beyond what they've already said and we have reported on.

Perhaps, and this is just my personal speculation, they will be released, but not in North America, like I originally suspected.

That would be fine with me, as long as we get them somewhere. We stateside fans can always go the Bricklink route if we really want them.

Which I do.

Very much.

Overall, I'm not especially interested in these sets. They have some nice new parts and recolors, but the builds feel so much more mundane than many of this year's diverse Hero Factory builds, and the extremely specialized heads are now coupled with extremely specialized torso shells. They're not thrilling in terms of piece count, either. CHI Laval has just 49 pieces (even last year, before the switch to minifigures in Hero Factory, that would have been pitiful for a $15 set). The other sets are a bit more generous, but I'm still not convinced they offer the same MOCing potential as most of this year's similarly-priced Hero Factory sets.

Still, it'll be nice if these sets do get released, even if it's limited to certain regions. The more variety in constraction sets, the better, and since Hero Factory this year doesn't boast any standard "armored humanoid warrior" sets, these do help fill that niche. Plus, lots of tasty parts will be available to MOCists!
