IcarusBen
So, we know Metru Nui (having those two holes in the sky) has a day/night cycle, but does the rest of the MU have one? I know the other domes are lit by glowstones (though where these glowstones are positioned is anyone's guess) but do they go out at night? The 1st Shadow
Supposedly, they just grow dim for night, or the "sky" projects a sort of hologram to make it look like the sun is setting or rising. 1 Quote ~Your friendly, neighborhood Shadow ~Credit for Avatar and Banner goes to NickonAquaMagna~
Irrie
I can't think of any examples of nighttime scenes in the MU outside of Metru Nui off the top of my head. But like T1S said, I suppose holograms are a reasonable explanation since that technology is also used to make the eyes look like suns. 1 Quote bZpOwEr
The Hip Historian Iaredios
As Metru-Nui had two suns, I think the rest of the Matoran Universe didn't have any suns, just lit sky that would be dimmed to mimic Spherus Magna's day passage with the help of weather-proof holographics. Such a thing would add to the awe filled weirdness that is the Matoran Universe. Nidhiki of the Shadows
Are we saying that the Matoran Universe was perpetually dark following the Great Cataclysm? Because Mata Nui's eyes closed (at least I think that scene from LoMN is canon). -NotS

As I recall, it was noticeably darker, however. I don't remember there being blue skies, etc. Quote My friend went to Po-Wahi and all I got was this lousy rock.
