Hapori Tohu
The official LEGO Bionicle Facebook page has revealed two pieces of concept art created by concept designer Matt Betteker for the upcoming Netflix series LEGO Bionicle: The Journey to One. The first shows the Toa approaching the door we saw Tahu opening in his character video. The second shows the Toa inside the Labyrinth of Control traversing floating stone blocks, one of which has the Mask of Control carved into the side. Rooster Nui
Matt Betteker has done it this time! This has got to be one of my favorite pieces of art of all time. That's why I've proudly got it as my cover photo for Twitter and Facebook.
VahiHolder02
I like how the art captures a sort of raw power and dynamic movement in its setting. As much as I enjoyed the 2015 animations, I felt it made the BIONICLE world smaller. By contrast, these two pieces really show how big the Okoto landscape is. On an unrelated note, is it weird that Lewa was shown with his creature, but neither Onua nor Tahu is? 2 Quote https://ideas.lego.com/projects/593592ef-5da6-4a2a-9422-a17e0f8438ea Please help and support this project! Nescent
These paintings are phenomenal, I'm so glad that Matt Betteker continues to contribute art to Bionicle. The sort of 3D effect in the art for the Maze of Control is pretty neat.
Toa Smoke Monster
I'm glad that we're continuing to get more artwork just like we did last year. Both of these pieces look amazing. I really hope that the Labyrinth of Control looks just as cool as it does here. Quote Everyone is one choice away from being the bad guy in another person's story. Nidhiki of the Shadows
If there's one thing I can say G2 does supremely well, it's concept art. Never fails to impress. The image of the chamber to the Mask of Control is breathtaking - that box-like labyrinth is very creative and inspired. I love seeing the conception for it. The execution of the setting translates well to the app game and I can't wait to see it in the show. The first image of the Toa approaching the door Tahu is opening is awesome too. They really nailed the setting and atmosphere. If they released a G2 Bionicle artbook, I would buy it in an instant. -NotS
Toatapio Nuva
I really hope the series manages to retain the feeling of the concept art. The 2015 webisodes had great concept art as well, but the animation completely failed to capture any of that. With the new animation style though, they should be able to do better... hopefully.
