Alex Humva Posted February 23, 2014 I think making it so that it doesn't refuse to let you install other operating systems with it or over it would be pretty great. Quote Link to comment

Swert Posted February 24, 2014 *shrug* I'm perfectly fine using Windows 8. I can't even look twice at my Windows 7 desktop anymore without getting frustrated. Reminds me, I should upgrade my desktop :\ Quote Link to comment

Jedi Master J. Posted February 24, 2014 Hm...I currently have Windows 8 now and honestly I can't say I had any problems with using it so far. I mean yeah, I don't really like Metro Interface thing, but you can pretty much just ignored that feature and just go right to the desktop to do actually stuff. So yeah, outside of interface, I don't really understand the hate of Windows 8. Maybe I am missing something. *shrugs* - JMJ 2014 Quote Link to comment
Burnmad Posted February 24, 2014 JMJ, I too find Windows 8 altogether satisfactory, and, honestly, all the reports of it sucking badly are extremely exa-- Your PC ran into a problem that it couldn't handle, and now it needs to restart. Blessed Blade Posted February 24, 2014 JMJ: I used it for a bit and it pretty much forces you to use Metro for some things. Like settings. Which are rather important. And it kinda is just unintuitive partly because of Metro and Microsoft wanting you to use Metro for the simplest of things from what I recall. Heck, they make you use the Windows Store for getting 8.1 so you can actually boot right to the desktop, so... Zakaro: HP doesn't. And some manufacturers allow you to downgrade too! Jedi Master J. Posted February 24, 2014 @Burnmad: I guessing that a reference to one of bugs with Windows 8, yes? I can't say I ran into it. Although I did run into a screen saver / sleep bug that cause some issues intitally. I figured out a fix though. @Blade: I give you that. That is true. It is kind of annoyed how certain settings are tied to Metro. Although it is not impossible to get the hang of, if you are willing to play around with it and you use the search feature. Of course, if I had the choice, I would went with Windows 7 instead. So I am by no means saying that I like Windows 8 or something. I just tolerate it and for most part, I have run into very little issues (The only problem that I had was that Sleep bug, which I mention above.) with it so far. - JMJ 2014 Quote Link to comment

Burnmad Posted February 24, 2014 Nah, I got a nice program called SlimDrivers to update my drivers, and it's all good now. On top of that, though, since I downloaded 8.1, my comp has coming out of sleep mode in the middle of the night, and also shutting off from sleep mode before morning. Next thing I know, it'll try to slit my throat while I sleep. The computers are taking over, man. - Quote Link to comment
Samus Aran-Bounty Hunter Posted February 24, 2014 Eh, I don't really care honestly. Other than the fact that they're making my computer a tablet without a touchscreen, I really don't care about it. And yeah, I ignore that start menu most I can. Zakaro Quote Link to comment
