  1. Happy birthday! Hopefully you'll still come around at some point.
  2. This. No amount of 14K gold is worth selling my soul to Mike Zuckerberg. Or you could just, you know, sign up without your real name and not post anything else on Facebook or something. Facebook always cracks down on false usernames and unless you can prove you're a real person by posting your real face and making posts all the time, it'll get shut down due to some troll. I don't know what you're talking about. I've never ever showed my face on Facebook and I don't even go with my real full name there. I rarely ever post anything on Facebook and by "rarely" I mean I have written maybe three posts in three years and that's it. I know other people who use fakes names as well. Please don't make things up if you're trying to prove a point you want people to take seriously.

  4. Well, I don't think it's so much lack of effort rather than that they wanted to create a contrast between cartoony characters and super-detailed and realistic environments. I'm not sure why, but it's certainly interesting and you can't really blame them for that. Though I do understand your disappointment, of course.
  5. You've got to admit, the animation of the environment looks fantastic, though.
  6. I've got to admit, I'm actually getting pumped about this.
  7. So much translucent purple! <3 Seriously though, this MOC is really cool. Great torso build, fine proportions and very solid color scheme. The only thing I am not sure about is that cladding piece over the knees, as it protrudes a bit too much in my opinion, but that's just a minor concern and it doesn't bother me very much, to be honest. Keep up the good work!
  8. The Time Lords have fans? Methought the general impression among Whovians was that they were a largely boring lot with a few moments of greatness (the War Games, the Deadly Assassin.) Granted, the expanded universe has treated them better, and Big Finish's Gallifrey series is well-loved, but I have a hard time imagining someone loving Doctor Who because of them (as opposed to the Daleks, who were virtually a franchise of their own, for a while.) Honestly I know next to nothing about Doctor Who. However, what I actually meant was that it should please Time Lords, not fans of Time Lords.
  9. There is plenty of organic material in earth. Okay, fine. Trees are not only organic, they are alive and growing. Earth, fire, air, and water are not. What about all sorts of microorganisms that are in earth?

  11. I'm not even that much of a castle fan but I've got to admit this looks really crazy in a good way. I look forward to knowing more.
  12. If for whatever reasons, the buyer of the Fire Protector has to draw back, I am interested in buying the set instead.
  13. The premise of Hero Factory held so much potential that was simply wasted, unfortunately, especially in its later years. I feel LEGO could have done so much more with it but alas, it never came to be. It's not all bad, though, after all, we've got BIONICLE back. Of course, HF will most likely be remembered for introducing CCBS, which I think is a very good system for figures and much better than the old BIONICLE system.
  14. Wow, it's been pretty long since the first announcement (I reported on it). I was almost afraid they'd abandoned it.
  15. I had lots of fun with that disk fad. I think I downloaded all the files (three years ago, judging by the file change dates). That is, I know for sure I have files sitting here on my PC and I think they are all except for the PHP files needed for the saving, getstate etc. You can't download those so what I wanted to try is replicating the function of PHP files (they just return text so it shouldn't be too hard) but I never got around to it. I can give you the files if you need.

  17. I feel like this is drifting off into a place where it shouldn't. Yes, we all know the loss of many lives were unfortunately the result of American foreign policy. However, putting all the blame on the US for things that happened is not fair either. I also fail to see how the deaths of Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Vietnam etc. stand in direct relation to those of 9/11, which is what this topic is about. Nobody is denying those deaths or those that happened in direct or indirect consequence of 9/11 by honoring those who died on that day. It's natural that, this being an American site and all, the deaths of people in the own country has a greater emotional weight than those elsewhere. And again, nobody as far as I can see is denying the latter any respect by respecting the victims of 9/11, even if I do not find it inappropriate to point those out and to make a call for tolerance and mutual respect, regardless of religion or culture. What's more, I think it's necessary if true respect is to be paid to the victims of that day. We must not allow the deaths of so many innocents to be abused. Lastly, political discussion is not allowed on this site and whether you agree with that or not, it's something you need to respect if you want to participate on this site.
  18. Or you could have some respect for the 3000 people who lost their lives. If remembering this tragedy offends you, then don't pay attention to it. Some of us wish to remember it, let us do so. I'll never forget 9/11. I was in school, and despite being 6, I knew a horrible thing had been done...I did not know why at the time, I just knew it was bad. The rest of the day and the following days were solemn and awkward...walking outside and not hearing any aircraft was just...eerie. It's amazing that 14 years have gone by...thankful nothing like this has happened again. If there was anything that came out of it, it was the unity following the attacks. Race, religion, political affiliation, none of that mattered...we were all just Americans. Not even nationality mattered that day. I wish that same unity would come back, but I just pray it doesn't take another tragedy to bring humanity together again. Well, he does have a point. This story isn't going to be posted over and over, is it? I mean, there is always a point where one must move on. On the other hand of course, the story shouldn't do any harm and since I'm not American, I probably don't have too much of a say here. I don't feel disturbed by this story but if I were the admin of this site I'd probably have stopped in 2011. Just my two cents, though. I don't want to offend anyone. There are many other things that have come out of it and many of them aren't good. Middle East and even Europe are experiencing some very long-term implications right now. I'm not a historian but it's probably safe to say that 9/11 was one of the most influential events in recent history, if not the most. However, I try to be an optimist and think that everything is going to work out eventually. There are always rougher times and better times, you can't have one without the other, after all. I do wish so much unity would come and spread over the whole world, too. I wonder if that's one of the things that unites us all (ironically)? The problem is that there are too many different views of what the world should look like.

    That Awkward Moment

You can say a lot of things about German, but what you can do with its words is just awesome and there is no way around that. I've just added a tiny little bit to the beginning of the word for good measure and to make the diagnosis more precise and because I can and I love it (it occurred to me shortly after submitting my comment but I wasn't around my computer at that moment to fix it).

I diagnose you a severe case of auf StreetPass bezogene beziehungsweise von StreetPass verursachte von einem auf der Straße begegneten Bekannten ausgelöste Nintendo-3DS-Konsolen- beziehungsweise Mobilvideospielkonsolenfunktionsnutzungsunwahrscheinlichkeitssachverhaltsaufgreifungsunsicherheit. I advise you to go to the Mobilvideospielkonsolenfunktionsnutzungsunwahrscheinlichkeitssachverhaltsaufgreifungsunsicherheitsdiagnostizierungssachbearbeitungszuständigkeitsfachberatungsassistent as soon as possible so that he can direct you to the Mobilvideospielkonsolenfunktionsnutzungsunwahrscheinlichkeitssachverhaltsaufgreifungsunsicherheitsheilungsmethodenstudierter so that he can give you a cure.
  21. I thought I wouldn't need a smartphone until I actually got one. Once you get used to it you hardly want to go back.
