  1. IC: (Kol) The soldier made his way down to the beach, visibly exhausted from long days with minimal rest and activations of his Parakuka. He still hadn't found a name for it, nor had one been presented to him. It seemed to enjoy tormenting him in various ways, however: images of the girl he had loved before his time with Hiemalis shot through his mind when he saw Nixie. "We should move out," he suggested, "there could be more mercenaries heading our way."
  2. IC: (Matrapolix) "Understood," he said, nodding. His eyes were locked on the stone, however, and he narrowed his focus on it. "Assuming I survive this journey, would you object to giving me a shard for personal research?"
  3. Hello, and welcome to the TBRPG forum! Here in this forum we have a contest every few months to see which RPGs our players want to play. This lets people focus on the winning games rather than having their attention spread out between a load of games, which means more players per game. In a few months you'll be able to enter your RPG.
  4. IC: (Komisk) Runion scanned the volunteers, subtly nodding in approval. It was good to know that there were still good people willing to risk their lives for the greater good, even with that greater good was at times incompetent in the eyes of the public. It was times like these when he felt that the three virtues could survive a premature death. He cleared his throat, lifting his mug of whiskey, adopting a more serious manner. "Back in Onu-Koro, my thquadron had a tradition that remainth with me to thith day. Before beginning a miththion where we knew we might not all return, we had one latht drink, ath brotherth, and we would remember the thacrifice of our forefatherth, their triumphs, and damnnit, we would go out there and thacrifice. We would triumph." Komisk's smile became somewhat grim. The last time he had participated in that particular tradition, it had been before the hive battle. He had two eyes. His squadron had existed. "Will you all drink with me?"
  5. If you want to join a group, your best bet is Komisk's group in a bar. Theoretically, anybody could've heard his call to arms. If you have your own agenda, you could have your character find the last Dikapi.
  6. IC: (Komisk) The Matoran's face lit up as he saw fellow Onu-Koroans enter the building. "Welcome, Uththalry memberth! I wath onthe jutht like you, a military man. I would love nothing more than for you all to accompany me on this righteouth quetht," he turned to the cloaked Matoran introducing himself, "and welcome Dorgath. We thhall overcome thith challenge in the name of Mata Nui!" He rolled the message from the Dikapi back up and placed it in his satchel. "We mutht act quickly, for the Thentinelth may not have much time left. Let uth all have a drink in the name of thucethth and then ride on the hour." OOC: Stalling for Stralix and co.
  7. So the Roku First Son would be invited?
  8. IC: (Kol) "Have it your way." Kol spun the weapon until its blunt hilt was leveled to her temple, and decisively struck a blow that instantly caused her to black out. In contrast to this, he sheathed his saperka, arms crossed, saying "no harm will come to her. Understood?"
  9. IC: (Matrapolix) "Can we use the stone to track the rest of the treasure? At my lab back in Ga-Koro I can run a diagnostics test on it and try to triangulate the source. I won't be able to pinpoint its location of origin by any means, but with any luck I can find us a place to start looking."
  10. IC: (Kol) Kol approached the trapped Lesterin of iron as he produced his sword once again, pressing the point to her neck. "You have five seconds to begin explaining yourself, or you will regret it." One hand was behind his back, allowing him to hold the blade in the fashion of a fencer. Little did she know, the hand behind his back was flicking an Onu-Koroan hand signal roughly translating to "mean no harm." The Ussalry squad would recognize this and realize his bluff, while he came off completely geniune to the hostage.
  11. IC: (Kol) "What did just happen?" Kol concurred, out of breath and exhausted from his exertion, energy returning to its natural state.
  12. If anyone wants to play in Tyler's jungle gym, Komisk Runion is recruiting a posse for the staff plot. Join in brothers, but I will be making cuts so make sure your character is worth it.
  13. IC: (Komisk) The one-eyed man stood atop a cliff, overlooking a valley, note clutched in his hand. He had hopped atop the dikapi which had delivered it, his short time in the sentinels having prepared him for such a moment. Though he had long since resigned from his post for a serene life in the plains, he had kept his body fit and his mind focused. And when a dikapi message bird roamed into his wilderness, he was quick to bring it in and examine its cargo. And when he had done that, he knew what he needed to do. "Now ith my time." ------------------------------------------ Komisk walked into a Po-Koroan bar, his tone and countenance the only thing keeping his words from sounding ridiculous: "Ath I thpeak, there are Thentinelth in danger. Ath we all know, the Dark Walkth are full of dangerouth villianth and dethpicable thcum," he slammed his fist down on the table to drive his point home, "anyone who witheth to join me in their aththithtance, thpeak up now. But know that I cannot guarantee your thafety." He awaited volunteers, taking a swig of beer. "There may altho be monetary reward."
  14. IC: (Kol) Realizing that his opponent's affinity left him at a disadvantage, Kol quickly swapped to an alternate weapon hanging at his back: a saperka. He had abandoned his standard one, as it identified him as a soldier of Onu-Koro. This one, however, was even more true to his past. See, though standard Ussalry saperkas were forged of metal, this was born from the elemental powers of Sulov Koskium, a unique ceramic just as trusty as any metal. He leveled it at the Lesterin, prepared to strike. "Stand down."
  15. IC: (Icha) The first into the building was lieutenant Icha, smashing through the door with all the power of a Kane-Ra. He immediately set to work clearing a path to the nearest living area, his overarching priority being to rescue those inside. "Secure the building's integrity!" he shouted over the crackling flames, "make sure it doesn't come down over our heads!" It was a fairly obvious order, but there were practically never burning buildings in Ko-Koro, and thus he wasn't keen on taking chances. As his men did their best to neutralize the situation, he carefully navigated his way to the sound of screams. The steps to the upper level, where at least two occupants of the house were trapped, were testy at best. Short bursts of cryogenic energy would allow them to cool off long enough for him to step from one to the next before they immediately began to flame up. He was making slow progress, but the screams for help were getting louder; more desperate. Five more steps. A blast of energy made the step in front of him stable enough to step on..........................................the sound of a crack was all it took, and he was hanging from a wooden plank, some twenty feet above flames. He was clinging to a loose board in the naive hope that the fire would take it's time getting to him. Just one slip and he was dead. Dead with Matoro and Nuju. The marks on his arms represented each man who had died fighting alongside himself and his Koro. Maybe joining his brothers wouldn't be so bad... No. Icha banished these thoughts. He could not afford to think those thoughts. Not when innocent lives were depending on his survival. In a feat of determined strength, he hefted himself onto the top floor, just in time. The boards below him crashed to the ground, feeding the fire. He briefly felt some pain, but adrenaline was rushing through him. He found himself sprinting down a hallway towards the nearest voice, kicking down the door. Inside was one of the servants kneeling by the corpse of another. "Help!" Without a thought, Icha scooped the Toa into his arms, ignoring her protests as she struggled to return to her dead colleague, seemingly oblivious to the burning household around her. "NO! YOU CAN'T LEAVE HIM!" "I'm sorry. Your friend is dead." He headed for the doorway, but fire had consumed the hall. There was no way to get back the way he had come. A shiver of fire and a pang of guilt struck him as he looked into his rescue's eyes, to the window, and then back again. "This is really, really going to hurt," he warned, charging the window full-speed, careful to see that his shoulder was the first thing to make contact. The last thing he remembered was hurtling towards the snow, glass shards protruding from his body, and the Toa he was desperately trying to save slipping from his hold. Then the cold grasp of darkness as he hit the ground. OOC: More on this later. Feel free to have your character notice the lieutenant jumping from a high window, but don't interact just yet.
  16. Joining the Ussalry (Onu-Koro's Military), instigating government plots, and engaging in overt combat unaffected by the outside world are all popular choices for starting in Onu. Just don't go to a bar. Literally everyone does that.
  17. IC:(Kol) Nixie had been released, but Kol took no time to revel in this small victory. The Toa of plasma was likely not out of the fight, and so he kept a vigilant watch on the waters of the bay as he pulled himself out of the water and into the hut. His energy burst wasn't waning, and as such he still possessed the energy to fight. It was time to put his natural stealth skills to use. Without warning, he came from behind the Lesterin of iron, and, careful to keep from injuring Suran, made a move to slash her hamstring.
  18. Hey look, something to get excited about!
  19. IC:(Matrapolix) "Fine then," he conceded, "for all intents and purposes, I'm part of this group. I will, however, inform you of the fluidity of my membership."
  20. IC:(Sucogu) The Toa of lightning drew a blank expression on his face, though the expression was otherwise slightly tainted by embarrassment. "Let's talk then," he agreed somewhat eagerly, "even if I can't bring you to share my views, I can assist in some way the man who killed the Makuta." At this point, he felt as though he was lucky they were still speaking with him. There was always something to learn, in every situation, and in this case Sucogu hoped to learn lessons in essentiality from Stannis and his companions.
  21. IC:(Kol) Speaking of experience, Kol had some of his own. He had spent years upon countless years under the command and training of an ordained god amongst men. He had risen the ranks of the most powerful military on the island. When he had finally met his match, he had dug his heels in and survived the worst tortures imaginable until heII had spit him back out. His opponent was going down. As soon as the Toa of plasma (for the purpose of the narrative, he will from now on be referred to as Amsalpoat) raised his arm to fire a bolt of plasma, Kol lunged. While his attention was drawn away and one arm was tied up with the hostage, he slammed into his knees. Unless he prevented impact, the hit itself would likely shatter the bones of his knees, given the parakuka-enhanced strength Kol wielded. If he then on continued to fail to prevent impact, Kol intended to drive him though the hole he had previously prepared, straight into the water. The hostage was a Ga-Matoran, she could hold her breath. Kol would deal with it as long as he could. But the Toa of plasma probably wouldn't last quite as long. Though Kol hoped dearly he could stick to non-lethality, he had no qualms with putting Amsalpoat in a coma.
  22. IC:(Rosh) Somewhere near Kohra's security block, Roshinua was already on the scene. The detective pulled a magnifying glass out of his bag, proceeding to examine the surrounding area. "I want some yellow tape," he said to no one in particular, "and a glass of tea."
  23. IC:(Matrapolix) 'Salad man' as he had so dubiously been dubbed, now stood from his seat (but still held his eponymous salad in one hand, eating with the other) eyes intent on Tehlin and Zauk. "Are there any more...I don't know, details you can tell us?"
  24. IC:(Iceblade) It was the day of the race. Iceblade looking down at his side to affirm that yes, his grapnel launcher was still there. High atop a building so as not to be seen and recognized, Iceblade looked down at his com, waiting for Shifter's orders
