  1. OOC: I am assuming that statues would be made of the Toa Mata in remembrance of the fallen heroes.IC: Dece watched as two characters discussed the island's situation. According to them the Toa, whoever that group was, were too moral and honorable to do anything. And then they mentioned evil beings who seek only destruction. Dece found the later example disturbing, at least the Tarakava only wanted to eat him, it was just hungry. But wanting chaos for chaos's sake, maybe that is what the figure summoning flames wanted. The last thing he heard the two of them say was a party that would walk the line between the two, to get things done.Dece began to review this in his headAs the crab scuttled along. Toa appeared to be good from the figures' discussion, and the counterpart to evil. If evil was destruction and chaos, good should be creation and order. Or maybe he was thinking of this too literally. He suspected that his surreal moments were not memories after all, so perhaps good wasn't literally evils opposite. Perhaps good was like the crag, friendly and kind. Regardless Dece spotted a great statue up ahead, carved from rock ages ago. It was of great figure, donning a mask of shielding and held a sword of fire in its hand. As Dece stared at the statue he realized he had seen it once before, in his second vision. This was one of the six tall Matoran, who confronted the vortex only to disappear from Dece's vision. Inscribed at the base was a few words that said;Toa TahuMay he be surfing lava in Mata-Nui's courtWhat did it mean?
  2. Dece is in Ta-Koro if you are close to there, he's the Fe-Matoran on the Ussal crab with the poorly made spear.
  3. OOC: feel free to interact with Dece if you are at Ta-Koro.IC: (Dece from Ga-Wahi) Dece watched as the ussal crab carried him towards a great fortress built over a moat of lava. The heat was painful, but hopefull;y his higher endurance than non Fe-Matoran would give Dece some protection. The crab seemed much more excited to be here, perhaps this had been its home once. Dece wondered briefly if this crab had indeed been a mount, and if this had been its partner's home. He would have to check that out some time. Suddenly he noticed a tall Matoran like in his vision summoning towers of flame. A strange reptilian creature ran up to the fire spitter, trying to stop the random chaos. Dece couldn't help but feel very fearful so close to such power, were all beings here other than Matoran so strong? Perhaps this world was ruled by the elite then, with the Matoran powerless against the strong. Dece decided quickly that he had no proof of that, and the Ussal for one didn't seem opressed. As the Fe-Matoran ode his crab th city, he wondered what the natives were like. Would they be friendly like the crab, or violent like the predator?
  4. IC: Dece continued on through the jungle, and soon the reached the end. As he walked with the crab the world began to fade into a great darkness. As the all consuming darkness engulfed him, a cracking sound was heard. Suddenly the darkness fractured, reveally a white void. Cast in the center of the void was a great temple, surrounded by four towers. As he watched this the ground began to tremble, and the temple was ripped apart. A vortex emerged, and began to destroy everything in the void. Six tall figures who were not Skakdi suddenly appeared, and faced the cyclone. In a flash both were gone, though winds continued to blow around the ruined temple. But the scene didn't stay calm for long as the tenple fragmented into a great abyss. As Dece floated towards the abyss he saw hordes of slugs emerge from its depths. The slugs leapt onto randomly appearing masks, and began to feast on the headgear. From each Kanohi grew a Matoran or a Rahi, their eyes piercing with intensity. All of a sudden a metal egg emerged from beneath Dece, knocking him into the abyss... Dece awoke to find himself laying on the crab, who was scuttling rapidly across the landscape. The region was a little hotter now, and the smell of ashe lingered in the air. The crab seemed almost trained to use passangers, perhaps it was used as a mount? The Fe-Matoran resolved to look into that, but his first goal was to find someone who could understand his visions.(Dece to Ta-Wahi)
  5. IC: Dece walked on, and began to approach a small jungle. As he moved forward he heard a noise, and froze. There was nowhere to hide over here, he could only hope that the creature had bad eyesight and would miss him. Silently he clutched his spear, as the creature approached...The Ussal crab scuttled over to Dece, and began to lick him. As the Fe-Matoran cringed, the Ussal crab began to rub up against him. The creature clearly knew where Dece was and that he was alive, so hiding was pointless. The creature hadn't attacked him yet, so that was a good sign. The Matoran began to walk away, though the crab followed after him. The crab wasn't attacking, merely keeping paxe. Still, it might draw predators towards the amnesic with its presence. As Dece turned around to shoo away the Ussal, he saw a reflection of him in the arthropod. Fear, confusion, loneliness, all that the Fe-Matoran felt the Ussal was experiencing. With a sigh Dece gestured for the crab to follow him, and the two set off. Soon enough the pair of them had reached the jungle.
  6. IC: The Fe-Matoran threw his spear again, this time actually hitting the tree. Dece smiled with pleasure that his aim was improving. He threw the spear a few more times, until he was sure that it wasn't just a fluke. His aim was still terrible, but he now had a chance of hitting a target. He wasn't really sure how to practice melee fighting, so he simply attacked the bamboo stalks with his spear, trying to stab and strike them with force. Of course a moving target won't let him have enough time to prepare an attack, but at least he was getting better.Satisfied, Dece began to attack the stalks with his fists, trying to inflict damage on them. His attacks were pitiful. But a few hundred attempts later he actually had bruised a stalk on his first attempt. The Matoran felt glad that the stalks were so common, though he couldn't place why. Maybe it is so that he can repair his spear if necessary? Yes, that must be it. Feeling a little safer, the Matoran ate some more seaweed before walking away. His chest still hurt from the Tarakava's punch, but in time he should recover. As Dece walked further down the beach, and eventually spotted a village of some sort, resting on floating lily pads. There appeared to be some sort of physical confrontation between two sides, one a tall entity with a twisted face and the other short and blue. What knowledge Dece had told him this was a village of Ga-Matoran, blue female Matoran of the element of water. The Fe-Matoran decided that this Koro seemed a little violent, though he didn't know if he should be more concerned with the Ga-Matoran or the tall creature. As he looked at the tall entity, he recognized it as a Skakdi. From what he remembered the Skakdi are quick to anger, though beyond that nothing. Dece resolved to keep moving, as the situation seemed uncomfortable.
  7. IC: Just as Dece has the Takea fang safely in his hands, a fist slams hard into his chest. The Matoran crashes back onto the beach, dazed. Even as the Fe-Matoran checks his inventory, he finds himself face to face with a Tarakava. A judging by its expression the beast hungered for Matoran right about now. Quickly Dece began to run, knowing he had no chance against the reptilian Rahi. The creature chased him for a Bio or two, before tiring of it and retreating back to the waves. "That creature must be an ambush predator," clicked the Fe-Matoran, "As long as I can outrun its initial attacks, it will loose interest and return to hunt another. I hope." Safe for the moment, Dece began to fasion the tooth atop of the Bamboo pole. The seaweed was not the best material to hold it together, but for the moment it should hold. Armed with his new spear, the Matoran resolved to practice his combat skills. A spear after all is useless unless you know how to use it. And just in case, the Matoran might as well learn to fight with his fists too. He will need all the help he can get if he is to survive this island.
  8. IC: Dece moved further along the beach, diving for cover at every sound. He was pretty sure that the Nui-Rama were dangerous, based off his "memory," but he had no clue as to the threat level of the other Rahi. Anything and everything could be a danger. As he walked the Fe-Matoran spotted some seaweed resting on the beach. Feeling hungry, Dece grasped them and felt the energy within the plants flow inside of him. Now fuller, the Matoran felt a little safer on this alien isle. Despite being a little refreshed, the Matoran continued as nervous as ever, though felt glad that he had discovered a safe source of food. Moving on, the Fe-Matoran began to search the shore for something to build with. He still had some seaweed, perhaps he could make a crude spear? As he searched the waters around him, he spotted a large fang, shredded from a Takea long ago. Slowly the Matoran entered the ocean to grab the tooth, unaware that he was being watched...
  9. OOC: feel free to tell me how I am doing, I have never been good with controlling individuals in TBRPGs.IC: The Matoran moved on from the bamboo patch, his pole held tight. As the Fe-Matoran walked aross the sand of Ga-Wahi, his eyes darted back and forth. Everything might not be dangerous, but anything could be. All the Matoran could do is be ready for an attack should it come. As the Matoran trembled as he moved on, reality melted away. Suddenly he was floating in a white void, surrounded by a thick clips of bees. The insects dived all around him, their stingers ready to pierce his armor. As the Fe-Matoran dived for cover, the wasps collided in a large fireball, roasting a newly arrived hut. The building began to flick between fates rapidly, both destroyed and slightly burnt at the same time. Emerging from the fireball was a strange reptilian, it's eyes full of hate and a wicked staff in it's hands. The Fe-Matoran suddenly realized he was back on the beach, with no swarm, reptile, or hut to be seen. The Matoran held his head, unsure as to what had happened. What did it mean? How could insects turn into a fireball? Where did the hut come from? And what was that beast? And where did all of those things go. Maybe it was a memory, something out of his past. Yes, that must be it, since those objects were nowhere to be seen. But now the Fe-Matoran had something to call himself. He had see a whisper of something, that appears to have only been in his mind. Thus he will call himself Dece, from the prefixes for the Sonic and Psionic Matoran.
  10. I like that Toa Stones are rare, to be honest I was a little annoyed about Jaller and company becoming Toa. Sure I like Jaller and the rest, and I prefer them over the other Toa except for Kopaka; but to me becoming Toa kind of robbed them of who they were. In the first book of 2006, a recurring phrase is, "you don't have to be a Toa to be a Hero." So when the six of them became Toa, I kind of felt like they were sell outs. It feels like the only way Matoran can be heroes is if they later become Toa. The Voya-Nui Resistance, Chronicler's Company, and the 2008 Av-Matoran seem to defy this so far, but in the Kingdom Universe many of them ended up as Toa. It must be terrible to be a Matoran, thinking that the only way you can make a difference is to become a Toa. Frankly there need to be some heroic Matoran who never become Toa, for the Matoran race to aspire to be like.
  11. OOC: Gained one Bamboo PoleIC: The Fe-Matoran continued to dig at the bamboo stalk, but progress was slow. Eventually he realized this was taking too long, and began to search for a quicker way to cut down the pole. As the Matoran looked around, something caught his eye. Heading towards the inner region of the beach, the Matoran found a shard from a Cawrie shell. The pink chunk was nice and sharp, perhaps sharp enough to cut down Bamboo. Rushing back to his target, the Fe-Matoran began to grind away at the base once more. Finally the pole fell, split from its roots. The Matoran glanced at the shell knife, only to see that it had broken into dust while he was severing the bamboo. Still, the Matoran now had a large pole of Bamboo. In truth this was hardly a weapon or a tool, at best hitting someone with it would only annoy them. But now at least he had something to work with. Suddenly the Matoran heard a noise from the shoreline. Quickly he darted behind the Bamboo patch, terrified. As he peered through the long plants he caught sight of a large crab, with a color scheme similar to the Matoran. The crab simply went on his way, not really caring to notice the small figure. As the crab scuttled off, the Fe-Matoran sighed in relief and frustration. How could he tell the peaceful Rahi from the lethal ones? He couldn't even be sure if that one was safe, it may not have attacked him, but perhaps it hadn't noticed him. How could he tell what was friend and foe?
  12. IC: The waves crash upon the shores of Ga-Wahi, loud yet weak in power. As the water washes over the beach, a figure splashes onto the shore. It is a Matoran, short both in stature and power. The Matoran lays there, waves crashing over his body constantly. Aside from the waves, all the world is silent here. Gradually the Matoran's eyes flicker to life, and the figure looks around. As he glances around he notices his orange and grey body, something alien to him. Come to think of it, everything around him is alien. The Matoran looks around carefully, searching for something familar. But nothing is known to him, nothing at all. Gradually the Matoran realizes that not only does he not recollect the land, he doesn't recall much of anything. For all he knows this beach could be his home. The Matoran can't help but tremble at how little he knows, knowing he is vulnerable. After a time he realizes panicking won't help, and decides to think. "I am orange and grey," clicked the Matoran in basic, "those are the colors of a Fe-Matoran. So I must be a Matoran of Iron. Do I have anything on me?" The Matoran looked around his person, but could find no tools or weapons of any kind. "I'm defenseless," the Matoran clicked, "I have nothing but my fists to protect myself with." As he felt a new fear, the Matoran spotted a small patch of bamboo. One of the long plants was damaged at its base, gnawed on by some small creature. The Matoran began to weaken the base further, hoping to utilize the plant as a staff. As he worked the Matoran wondered what his name was, as even that now escaped him.
  13. Name: DeceSpecies: Fe-MatoranGender: MalePowers: Visions, higher enduranceWeapons/Tools/Equipment: Nothing at first Mask: RuruAlignment: Neutral GoodPersonality: None yet, though he has a need to tinker and buildWeakness: His visions are hard to understand, not to mention that he has no control over when they occur. This can put him at a major disadvantage during a fight. His lack of memories also hurt him, and he has limited knowledge about interacting with others.Description: Dece's first memories involve waking up on the shores of Ga-Wahi, right now. He has no clue as to wha his past was, and has no knowledge of the situation on Mata-Nui. He does have a firm grasp of the Matoran tongue and some knowledge of fighting, but anything past eating is unknown to him. Odd among Matoran he has a glitch in his AI, much like Vakama of the main Matoran Universe. Like the famous Fire-spitter, Dece can see visions of events in motion or about to begin. He lacks control over this ability, and with his lack of knowledge he has no clue what some visons mean or if they are important.---------------------Name: VanboiSpecies: ToaGender: MalePowers: FireWeapons: swordMask: KakamaAlignment: Lawful GoodPersonality: idealist, hopeful, obsessiveWeakness: He can be blinded by his obsession with the Toa Mata, he also has limited skill because he wasn’t trained to become a Toa or adventured much after the Toa Mata vanished.Description: Vanboi was a Ta-Matoran at the time of the Toa Mata, and considered them to be the greatest heroes to ever live. He stalked them all to a degree, and often fantasied about aiding them in the battle against the Makuta. When the six Toa vanished he fell first into denial, and then crushing depression. He remained this way for ages, until he discovered an odd looking stone. As he touched it he was transformed into a Toa, just like his heroes. Vanboi considered this to be a sign that the Toa Mata had appointed him their successor, to defeat Makuta and save the island. And with that he cast off his gloom and looked to the future.Vanboi believes that the Makuta can be destroyed, but he believes the best way to fulfill that destiny is through unity. Over time he has realized jumping down people’s throats about the Toa Mata’s second coming and unity makes more enemies than friends, though his reignited hope still lingers. He knows the island can defeat Makuta, just like he knows that the glorious Toa Mata can’t be dead, no matter what those fools say.------------------OOC: Not sure if I will use the next two yet, but I might.Name: Makuta(Xadiret)Species: Onu-MatoranGender: MalePowers: night visionWeapons: walking staff with pop out bladesMask: Noble Hau, modified to resemble a KraahkanAlignment: Lawful EvilPersonality: overconfident, proud, manipulativeWeakness: As a Matoran almost anyone can beat him up, though in his eyes it is all part of the “plan.” He also is weak to bright lightsDescription: Thirty years ago a chaotic evil Toa of Iron found an amnesic Onu-Matoran missing his mask. Having an idea to prompt evil, the mad Toa used his powers to mold a spare Hau into the shape of the mythical mask of shadows. He then awoke the Matoran, and using illusions he convinced the Matoran that he was the Makuta. The Matoran began to believe the story, and began to “remember” his plans. The Onu-Matoran sent out to sow darkness among the Matoran, and bring them towards evil. The Toa was later killed by a group of thugs he had robbed, leaving “Makuta” the only entity left alive who knew his true nature. The Makuta pretends to be an average Matoran by the name of Xadiret, so that he may infect the Matoran with rumors of traitors and turn brother against brother. Since few have even heard of the mask of shadows, no one suspects him of being the Makuta. He avoids the Turaga though, as he feels them might know his mask. Overall the Makuta is a regular Matoran, and is lucky that he has not been discovered. At the moment he is in denial that he has no powers, and since no one knows of his “true nature” it need not be tested. But should he be forced to attack, the illusion will shatter.-----------------Name: KozyaAppearance: female white and blue Toa. For proportions think Gali in MoL compared to Tahu.Species: ToaGender: MalePowers: electricityWeapons: Sword forged in the image of a lightning boltMask: KadinAlignment: Neutral NeutralPersonality: Cold, externally uncaringWeakness: Mentioning his current form can cause him to snap. Rahkshi and the Makuta are an obsession with him as well.Description: Kozya was a Toa of Ice on one of the early Toa Teams following the Toa Mata’s defeat. The Team, known as the Toa Ka, eventually made their way to Kini-Nui. There Makuta ambushed them, sending two Rahkshi against the heroes. All six of them were slaughtered. However Kozya survived, thanks to his Iden. He had often used the mask to meditate and survey the entire island, it had never been used in combat. Just as his body was destroyed his mind escaped, narrowly saving his consciousness. But without his body, his spirit would fade. Eventually he found the body of a Toa of Lightning, her spirit stolen by unknown causes. After some time of debating it over, Kozya possessed her body and has remained there ever since. However because of how long he spent without a body, his spirit was kind of faded. This made his Toa powers adapted to the host's natural state, though this might also be connected with the unknown way the Toa of Lightning died. That was over ninety years ago, and Kozya has never adjusted to the body of a Toa of electricity. He has pretty much mastered the powers and abilities, but he can never look in the mirror at the face that isn’t his. He blames Makuta for his form, and dreams often of killing the Makuta, or trapping him in the form of a Ussal Crab. Because of his team’s failure and his Ko-Matoran nature, he dislikes working in a group, especially since many would assume that he is female. It gets awkward with his feminine form interacting with others, so he mostly hides away. The few times he does interact with others he finds Toa that severely overestimate their abilities, driving him away with disgust. He knows too well that Toa are not invincible…
  14. What about Orion? I am curious as to how humanity will explain the massive cataclysm Earth suffered in Prime. Surely some humans will find the spontaneous, lethal, and abnormal weather of One Shall Rise a little suspicious.
  15. Good to hear some news on the matter, hopefully the close connection of the past years won't be entirely lost.
  16. About 2 minutes in to the trailer you can see a bunch of the Muaka.
  17. Oh my Mata-Nui, this has made my day. The scenery looks wonderful, and is easily recognizable as the land of Mata-Nui. A little odd that the Muaka are shorter than Toa, but there are only so many mobs that can be used.
  18. I have an idea for a character but it might need approval. The reason is that it will be a Matoran with the same glitch as Vakama, the ability to have visions. Now these visions will not be of the real future, and like Vakama's they will be hard to understand. The visions will also come at a price, as the Matoran will be unable to control them or their timing. So he might zone out in the middle of a fight, and as a result be horribly beaten or get captured or something. Would this be acceptable, since it is a documented Matoran power and acts as its own weakness?
  19. Toa Inika, because they actually went on their journey to save the world before they were Toa. They were a bunch of mismatched Matoran, some with military experience, that traveled through the Karzahni itself in order to save their people, Mata-Nui, and their heroes. And again, some of them had already fought in battles, such as Captain of the Ta-Koro guard Jaller. The Mata were born Toa, the Metru only began to fight evil when they became Toa, The Hagah, first Toa Team, and Mangai's past is unknown, but we know that the Inika were fighting evil back when they had no powers. The only other Toa who started out as a heroic Matoran is Takua, at least of the ones I recall.
  20. Because resistance is futile; Time Trap. It made up for the rest of 2005. Aside from that, maybe the 2006 novels. The Matoran finally get fed up with the Turaga, and then Jaller leads five other Matoran on a rescue plan to save the Toa Nuva. I know that Matoran were useful in prior years, 2001-2003 were major examples of heroic Matoran, but this made me think that becoming a Toa might actually be a step down from Matoran.
  21. Favorite sets were 2004, for the Toa Metru. It was also the last year the Matoran got good heads, compared to the empty skulls of 2006/2007 and the glowing faces of 2008. Storywise I would say 2006, based on the novels. Six Matoran, travelling across tunnels of raw shadow in the hopes of aiding their defeated Toa, I liked the underdog feel of it. And after they went through Karzahni to reach Voya-Nui(bad pun), they rescue the Toa Nuva, defeat six Skadki, pass the trials, and defeat Vezon and his crazy steed.
  22. From 2001-2003 only eight people in the story knew that Matoran become Toa, six of which were Turaga and one a Makuta. Of course nearly everyone on Mata-Nui was suffering from amnesia, with only seven exceptions. Perhaps Balta and the gang didn't know that Vezok was male until it was too late? The idea of a female Piraka is pretty disturbing.More than you know, the females of their race are more violent than the males.
  23. From 2001-2003 only eight people in the story knew that Matoran become Toa, six of which were Turaga and one a Makuta. 24. (For the most part) re-skinning mobs.I figured that would work for the Muaka and other ground creatures, but what about fliers like the Nui-Rama?
  25. I have to say Teridax, once the Makutas became a species it didn't make sense. It would be like parents naming their child "Human," or a canine companion "dog," it just gets confusing and it kind of makes the character seem generic.
