  1. To add to that a bit:- Player spawns without full health (and possibly EP)- Occasionally kill and/or death counter goes wild after respawn
  2. You could try running it under the Mac version of WINE. I haven't had success with the Linux version, but perhaps with a little tweaking you could get it to work.
  3. Use your time wisely and learn something like OCaml instead, or if you must use Java libraries, Scala. Even C#. Java is terribly verbose.No. Please, I beg of you - learn Python instead. OCaml as a language may be not bad, but Python has far better syntax (IMHO) and 3rd-party library support. Java, on the other hand, is verbose, but compared to languages like OCaml or Scala is far more likely to land you a job if you're an adult (or even if you're a high-school student).Scala will land you a job pretty easily. It has great interoperability with Java, and more companies are picking up on it. Twitter uses a lot of Scala. In general I like OCaml's syntax, except for some minor irritations. I'm still at a loss as to why they picked ;; as the expression terminator. OCaml is very compact, even compared to Python, so to me that makes up for the occasional syntax blunder.I do wish more languages would pick up on the indentation thing though. { / } and even do / end are ugly.

  5. 5/5 My game. I used to have a cute little banner in my sig, but the filesize was too big. I suppose I at least ought to add the link back.
  6. Kaukau doesn't work? Must have something to do with me tweaking the air mechanics. And yeah, the ice physics are ######. People will often slide straight up to some crazy place and then the lack of friction on ice makes them stuck for the few seconds it takes until another arrives. Then they stand within another and can't ever hit. This is why this update was delayed so much: I hate those physics but can't seem to fix them. In the end I decided to just give you a half-finished map, buggy map instead of nothing.Same thing happens on in Mangaia (or at least did in 9.1, haven't tried 9.2). A bunch of people just stand in one spot at the edge of the map and punch.Ah well, it is an Alpha version after all.
  7. I cried.Functional programming languages drive me crazy. It's not that I'm bad with them, but the inefficiency of them to do things so integral of Object Oriented languages makes them impractical for most things I do on a day to day basis.Ineffiecent? OCaml is often as fast or faster than C++....Oh, you mean in terms of writing code. Really? I find I write functional code considerably faster. Also, OO and FP are not mutually exclusive. Scala is a great example, and has a rich object system and many functional features. OCaml has a lot of OO features. Common Lisp has the wonderful Common Lisp Object System. What in particular is a lot harder to write in a primarily functional language than in a primarily imperative language?
  8. Often, yeah.TPBM thinks Bronies are just weird.
  9. I do a ton of JavaScript, some Python, Ruby, Scala, and Common Lisp. Hopefully going to move from Scala to OCaml soon, and use Erlang a little more regularly.Functional Programming FTW.
  10. Great job on 9.2 Katuko. Stone primary isn't really implemented the way I imagined, but it's quite cool. The black hole for Gravity Rahkshi is really neat.It seems the Kaukau doesn't work in this version though. And um, I don't think this is supposed to happen. ...Less than IE9, anyway. IE9 is actually a reasonable browser, and IE10 is gonna give Chrome and Firefox a run for their money... Z. O. M. G.This is gonna be good.
  11. This isn't really the place for that, but yeah, some of those are moddable. I've modded VNOG. It's pretty easy (except for the cursed indecipherable French abbreviations). There's a topic somewhere on the old forums about it. PM me for more instructions.
  12. Really? Oh. I thought I read somewhere that it was a he...
  13. Correct.TPBM is confused by this talk of Steelport and Stillwater. Not currently.TPBM has been ninja'd in this topic before.
  14. Actually, yes, but not very often.TPBM owns a giant plastic crayon.
  15. MNOG was pure win.Matoro's death was rather well done IMO.Jan-Feb 2009 was shaping up to be really epic (trailer on the back of the last 2008 comic, first 2009 comic), but then... crashed.
  16. Er, Annona's a guy. That and Zaria also being a guy are probably in my top 10 dumbest moments. Most of my complaints are with the movies, particularly TLR. That had a lot of really corny lines.Teridax's end bordered on dumb (I mean, getting hit in the back of the head with a moon? Really?)The "Team up for more power" stuff in 2008 definitely deserves to be on the list.
  17. I'm the self-described Prince of JavaScript (which may be a bit of an overstatement, but still, I'm darn good with it). I can do some server side stuff with Ruby and Python. I know CSS and HTML quite well, but my design skills suck. I don't know wiki code.
  18. To be honest, I have no idea. Our GitHub repo is still empty and I haven't heard from UltraHau for a while.
  19. There once was a street called Chuck Norris. They had to change it because no one crosses Chuck Norris and lives.Chuck Norris destroyed the periodic table. The only element Chuck Norris recognizes is the element of surprise.Chuck Norris can believe it's not butter.
  20. OK, the error I get when the game fails to start up is:Failed to initialize drawing surfaces. Please check that your graphics card meets the minimum requirements and that your drives are up-to-date. If your graphics card has little memory, try switching your computer to a lower resolution. You don't know what's coming your way pal.
  21. I know politics aren't allowed, but if the government passes SOPA and PIPA, it'll basically kill BZPower.

    1. UltraHau

      UltraHau

      I agree fully.
