I saw that movie at the local drive-in at like 11:00 at night. Loved it!

[submitted by KNI] Try not to right when you feel emotional. This may seem obvious, but anger can ruin/has ruined plots. Now, some people right when they feel sad, to let it flow out. I'm in no way saying don't be passionate. But think about it. You get really mad, because someone said/did/implied something to you that made you feel angry. How likely is it that an enjoyable story is potential?
Not to try and shoot you down or anything, KNI, but I disagree. I mean, you do have a good point, but I think writing is more of a way of putting your emotions to words in a different form and letting the world know what you think. When I'm angry, I write about a character who's angry, and finds a way to resolve the problem. If I'm sad, I write depressing stuff.
As a more personal example, I wrote 'Forget the Mountain', not when I was angry, but after I'd calmed down. I personally didn't like how the story turned out, which might be what you were trying to get at, but I certainly wouldn't say that my anger ruined the plot. Thinking back, I'm tempted to say that writing helped me simply to forget about what I was angry about, and move on with life.

Do you fear death? [/davy jones]

Posted: Walking Her Home (albeit, in the wrong fourm, it should be moved soon) It's not really for the 'characterization' theme, but you could stretch it, if you really wanted to.
(EDIT:
Wow. Just wow. You did so well with this story, that I--Wow.The plot was so well planned, and the transistions between the scenes so flawless. I love the character-development you did.

There. Character development. Guess it'll have to count for this week's theme. XD )
Reviewed:
Epics-
Blazing Dawn (here)
Fading Blaze (here)
and BTW, I get those two epics mixed up, cuz of their carkin' similar titles.
The Toa With Black Eyes (here)
A Soldier's Destiny (here)
Short Stories-
Collapse to Rise (here)
The Forest Fire (here)
Thinking of You (here)
Tip:
BEWARE RABID SUE'S AND STU'S
Okay, not to insult anyone's intellegence, because we've all had writing experience, and we know what Mary Sue's and Gary Stu's are. Any female or male character that's too perfect, gets any guy/gal he/she wants, masters an instrument/weapon in a matter of days, etc. etc. etc. But just keep an eye out for those buggers, and if you find one, I think it would be fairly logical to use the 'calm, cool, and collected/big brother' approach, not going around and pointing fingers. Not saying that any of us do that, but just saying.

oh, oh oh! I do too. I shoudl be doing homework right now, but I"m not. XD

Posted: Forget The Mountain
Reviewed: Once More, even though it was sometime last week or something. I forgot to let you know.
(Edit: Also dropped a review by Zar's Epic, Fading Blaze.)
(Edit: I also updated my Epic, Second to None, if that counts towards anything)
Tips:
When you write, don't be afraid to just let the words flow. On a more personal note, writing is the way I communicate best. I can't stutter, I don't constantly abuse the words 'like' and 'um', and I can be as creative as I want.
On another note, watch what you post. Other people might not have the same opinion as you, or they might simply be easily offended by something you thought was innocent.

Am I the only one who is cursed with the inability to make an epic banner around here?
-
aww, darn. i wish I had that much time to procrastinate... but I only have until monday, sadly. I have to make a freakin' pyramid out of either sugar cubes, or popsicle sticks, and write an essay about it. XD, that'll be and interesting paper for sure. "... and then I found my little brothers bouncing off the walls, with my empty box of sugar cubes on the table... blahblahblah".
-
Hahaha, yeah, you're just the random team member who happened to come up with the whole idea, on top of the name. Nothing special, right? XD
And Redwall, huh? It's been a while since I've set foot into that fandom... But lemme know when you get the story started, and I might just go take a looksee.

Riggie, do you know how much I envy you, living in Athens?
-
Hey, I'm definitely impressed at how legit-like and organized this thing is looking.
Along with the rest of us, I await the first challenge on the edge of my seat.

I'm sure this is just coincidence, but the Toa of Fire in the Bionicle storyline seem to be some of the most round and dynamic characters we've seen so far.
Well, I know other people think differently, but I think Vakama is a pretty good character. He's dynamic. Saying, he is one of the most developed characters in the storyline. His jumping around with the insecure Toa to dark-sided Hordika could have been cleaned up a bit with more detail and page time, I'm sure.
Tahu is as realistic as a Toa can be. His fiery temper, and impatience really seem to give him life. And then, underneath, his fierce loyalty and dedication to his team just give him that much more personality.
Anyways, what I'm saying is, that IMO, a good character has to develop along with the plot, be relatable and realistic. You know the author's done a good job with the charater when you look back and that one character stands out, even the tiniest bit, from the rest.

They're funny if you're not trying to make one, and leave out 'no pun intended'.
-
XD, 'in fact, it's epic'. Very punny.

I've been asked what year I am in college and what my major is, and I just kinda smile to myself and say I'm a freshman. In high school. And then burst out laughing when they turn all red in the face and say sorry.
And then other days, people still ask me if I want the kiddie's menu.

All members of the WA! I am
Making a banner with Chimoru sprites! If you would like to be in it, please quote this message, and ask to be part.
And RM, you know I'm already in .
Heyyy, I like banners and sprites. I'll take you up on that offer.

... No... way.
We're reading that rite now in English. It wouldn't be half as bad if I understood what half of those words were

Hey, whomever's counting, don't forget me!
The idea is simply genius, and I'm all for it.

I really thought the Taggerrung was gonna go somewhere with an evil otter. Disappointed as I was, I still liked the way it turned out. I wanna see a good fox, and and evil otter, and more birds with scottish accents.

Hahaha!! I love weekends! I was up till six in the morning living off of iced tea and grapes.
... Alice in Wonderland? I honestly didn't like the new one. Johnny Depp just creeped me out at his Mad Hatter role, because he looked like Willy Wonka, but acted like Jack Sparrow.
About that Proto Boost. I'm all for it People go Premier for wanting to support BZP (at least, that's how it should work) *coughshouldcough*, and Proto goes for making BZP a better place, so I'm thinking all's well that ends well.

Ah, fun. My neighbors do that, except they're usually laughing really loud. They're the hardcore Eagles fan type. Wait, five brothers?
***
*almost catches links* Darn. Have to work on my hand-eye coordination some more.
-
Dude, I envy you and your brothers. I have two little brothers, and I'm kinda wishing they were older than me. Happy belated b-day, too!
*reads on*
o...mg..zzzz *faints*
Seriously, Zar, thank you. But honestly, my stories are not better than yours!! In fact, I have half a mind to go stalk your stories right now and prove you different.
-
So
I saw you finally updated your blog, and I'm like OMGZZZ!!
Then I get here, and I'm like ... depressing. Sounds like Aero.
But what 'higher goals' are you talking about?
-
Very legit looking. Can I approve your approval?
...
OOOOHHHHH!!!!! i GET it!!! Seal, seal. XD
literally, it took me a sec to figure that out. I was gonna say I love the random seal in the corner, but then it was like i got struck by lightning. Kudos to you, making me feel blonde.

Awww, don't worry, you're not alone. My dog gets out, cuz he's figured out how to push open the deck door if we don't lock it, so our neighbors are always bringing him back to us. they don't even bother to check his nametag. they know whose dog it is XD
