  1. IC: Ashring Vertan emerged from the tunnel, watching as Levacius tried to get down the volcano. Instead of running after him, the warrior concentrated his vision power on the areas behind the Toa. He struck large outcroppings, the ground - everything that stuck up on the slope, creating something like a small avalanche of boulders and jagged rocks, all of it coming at Levacius. Smirking, the Skakdi followed his creation. Let's see the Toa dodge this... OOC: Yeah, probably the last post for a long while.
  2. IC: Ashring Vertan followed Levacius, swating falling rock chunks out of his way with his eye beams. This Toa was hurt, but not down. So the Skakdi fired more eye beams at the ground beneath his foe, and then another pair at his back. He also grinned: he knew Lightning Toa weren't built to withstand the immense heat all around, so that would slow this one down. OOC: Maybe the last post for the day, or maybe a long while. Hopefully we can continue this chase tomarrow.
  3. IC: Ashring Vertan was able to avoid most of the electricity, but he had been hit by enough so that a yelp of pain came from his mouth. However, it was going to take a lot more than a few lightning bolts to defeat him. ''Think you can steal my prize, foolish Toa? Try stopping a determined Skakdi!'' he bellowed, while making his way to the chamber's exit. Again he fired his Impact Vision, only at Levacius' hands to try and knock the cache free.
  4. IC: Ashring Vertan growled as Levacius jumped off him, nearly sending him into the lava. This time he focused his Impact Vision on the Lightning Toa, while he was in midair.
  5. IC: Ashring Vertan grunted in frustration, and decided to hop onto floating rock chunks until he was directly uderneath it. Then he reached up to grab it, hoping he could get the cache with his tall form.
  6. IC: While walking around the slope, Vertan tripped and fell into a pit. Apparently, he had been too busy keeping an eye on the strangers to watch where he was going. He tumbled and rolled through the twisting tunnel, cursing and muttering words in the Skakdi laungauge along the way. Even when he thought the passage stopped, it still went on, with smoke rising through tiny holes in the rock. Vertan could have sworn (which he had done at least a hundred times by now) that the fall went on for hours. When he finally did come to a stop, it was landing on even hotter rock from coming out of an opening. He stood up, brushing ash from his armor, and looked around. At first he saw only steam, and felt the high temperatures, but that didn't bother him. With a great blow of air from his lungs, nearby steam was blown away to reveal the hidden cache. A huge grin appeared on the Skakdi's face, showing his teeth. The cache was somehow levitating, but that didn't stop Vertan from using his eye beams to try and knock it out of the air, hopfully onto a chunk of floating rock. OOC: Would that work, TPTI, since it's physical?
  7. OOC: The third letter in Vertan's name is ''r'' instead of an ''n''. IC: Ashring Vertan covered his ears to block out the loud, screeching voices that seemed to come from the volcano. That did the job quite nicely, considering the size of his hands. Once he felt the sounds were over, the crimson-colored Skakdi removed his claws from his head, and looked around. There! Up by the crater stood two beings. Were they the source of the terrible voices? Vertan clutched his weapon more firmly, hopefully he could get the cache before they, then he might possibly smash their bodies into the searing ground. He moved cautiously around the volcano's slope, trying to keep an eye on the two while still hunting for that cache.
  8. IC: Ashring Vertan's head popped up from behind an outcropping. The cache was... not there. He stared down into a hole, lit with orange flames. Cache? Nope, not there either. Growling with rage, the Skakdi stomped towards the great crater, and scanned the bubbling lava with his scarlet eyes. IC: Yawning Sunder Rocky could not hold in his anger for long. His mane burst into orange fire, and rapidly increased in light and heat. Thanks to the sudden light, the twelve tentacles died out as the darkness faded. With that problem solved, Greel spoke up. ''Hurry, open the dome now. We have light to see him, to defeat him.'' IC: Toothy Bane Reya nodded, leading the way up the mountains. ''Not sure you would know - or care - but his name is Oura. Or was - I'm not sure if he survived a little encounter he had with some slaves.''Something caught her eye, something moving in the air above them. Thanks to her night vision, Reya could see clearly the thing flying around. It had a propeller on its head, two tentacles as arms, and a large lens for an eye. An Observer. She closed her eyes and reached out with her hands. Reya activated her Mask of Biomechanics, calling out to the machine mentally. Instantly, the robot stopped, just hovering in the air. Then she willed it to float down to her, controlling its mechanics. The egg-shaped machine followed her commands, and then switched off, falling into her hands. The Water Toa caught the Obeserver in her hands, and smiled. Deactivating her Kanohi, she turned to Kono. ''This will come in handy. Think of the things I could do with it.'' Then something did come to her: a thought, a very mad thought. ''Come,'' she told Kono, hurrying her pace to the cave. ''I have a plan. I'm going to send a message.''
  9. IC: Ashring Because of his size, the flying Rahkshi could not hold them both up in the air. Vertan fell upon the hot earth, groaning a little, but quickly got back to his feet. He looked around for his floating foe, though it was hard to tell were he was in the dark of this night. However, he did see something else. The sky, lit by the light of the screen, had a new map, with a large purple dot in his exact area. His Skakdi greed was surfacing now - Vertan wanted that cache; the Rahkshi could wait. Fortunately for him, he was already at Dragon's Roost. Now he just had to find that prize, which he decided to check the volcano's summit. It didn't take long for him to get there, since he had been close to it already. The red warrior began searching for the cache. IC: Yawning Sunder Greel thanked Plagia for her help, and now worked on calming Rocky, so that his mane wouldn't light up inside the metal dome. Now he cursed that Suicavel. How many times would he attack them? Would they ever make it across? Noticing the damage to the dome, Greel called upon his telekinetic powers to push the dents back into place, in order to preseve the shelter. It wouldn't stand for long. They needed a plan. IC: Shadowtangle Hexxon was hesitant to search for the new cache. True he could probably get there before most others and find it, but the cache was hidden in the smoky region of Ashring. He didn't like the place to begin with, and now it was night. The dark mixed with the black smoke would block his visibility. Maybe he should wait inside for a while... IC: Toothy Bane ''You could call me a creature of the night. And what immpressive powers who have - quite useful at times like this.'' Reya said, gesturing to the dark around. Then her eyes shifted to the great forest. ''Don't go in there, you wouldn't enoy it much - I would know.'' ''Listen,'' she said, ''if you're looking for safety, come with me. I recall there being a spot around here with some supplies a former ''friend'' of mine had stored. This Toa didn't seem too bad, but one could never tell from just talk. She would keep an eye on him as long as they were together until she deemed him harmless to her. OOC: It seems like a coincidence to me that both our characters met up in this area at the game's beginning, and now two of our characters meet again.
  10. Pretty much anywhere you want, as long as the area isn't off-limits. Stony Leap is still intact - the sky castle leviatating above it and the fortress fell to the ground.
  11. IC: Shadowtangle Greel nodded, and had Rocky - who was still carrying him - leap onto the metal bridge and begin walking to the other side. OOC: Just saw the edit in the discussion topic. Ah, there's a cache in the volcano. Now which one of my characters is there and has a resistance to heat?
  12. IC: Shadowtangle Greel, too, looked back, but shook his head. ''No. That castle wasn't there when we first saw this one,'' he said, indicating the fortress Klax made, ''so it was new. Therefore, it shouldn't have anything useful in it.'' He and Rocky turned to the bridge. ''We should get across before anyone else tries to stop us.''
  13. Thanks. Also, seeing as Sledge is recaptured, are caches are going to reappear on the island?
  14. OOC: @ Skarloth: Sure, why not? IC: Toothy Bane While scaling the sloping terrain, Reya spotted a Toa-sized being moving around the mountains, close to the forest's edge. She began preparing an Elemental attack - just so she'd be ready of this one was trouble. Silently moving down towards the slave, the Water Toa did her best to stay standing on the treacherous land. A few minutes later, Reya was close by the stranger, hidden among the rocks. ''Going somewhere?'' she asked. IC: Shadowtangle Hexxon blinked a few times, his eyes almost accustomed to the night. Soon he'd be ready to see around in this darkness.
  15. TPTI, could I have my character, Reya, use her mask on an Observer in order to send a message to other slaves and the Shepherds?
  16. OOC: @ Rakata: Not sure if a Toa of Psionics could sense another Psionics, seeing as their both mentally shielded. Though I could be wrong, if it's by another way. Also, do you we me to puppet Amalia? IC: Toothy Bane Reya walked on the land once more, landing somewhere close to the mountains of Toothy Bane. Her energy was now rested and restored, both Elementary and physically. She moved up the jagged slopes, being able to see through the darkness of the new ''night'' with her night vision. IC: Shadowtangle Rocky dashed away from the falling castle at high speeds, saving both his and Greel's lives. The two returned to the group, tired off this spot and ready to move on. ''It was him again, wasn't it?'' Greel said irritated. ''He's a fool who doesn't know when to stop.'' IC: Shadowtangle Noticing the light had stooped gleaming off the purple jewels, Hexxon moved slowly to the cave's front. He sighed at the sight of night; it would only limit his teleporting power, but if he allowed his eyes to adjust to this dark, he'd be able to see a bit better.
  17. OOC: @ Rakata: Hexxon is actually based in Shadowtangle, testing his new possessions' powers. IC: Shadowtangle Hexxon aimed the Rhotuka staff at the shred of armor, and focused his power into it. A wheel of bright silvery energy formed in the the launcher, spinning wildly. The Psionics Toa hurled the spinner at the silver metal, striking the armor piece, and watched the effects. Nothing. Nothing happened at all, except that the armor was knocked back a little. Frustrated, Hexxon decided to experiment on a living subject, thinking the results would be different. He sensed a weak mind, so small it might have been missed by him. He found a Stone Rat crawling around the rocks. It was good enough. Hexxon concentrated on the Rhotuka again, creating another spinner. It flew from the launcher to the rodent, striking it dead on. As a result, the rat's eyes became blank, and it moved around in seemingly random directions, left only with its motor skills. The Psionics Toa grinned; the effects were much like the Staff of Erasing owned by Vahki Keerakh on the famous city of Metru Nui. Now he took out the Nynrah Gauntlet. He knew some things about this, thanks to his mind probe on Sledge. But now he wanted to see its abilities in action. Hexxon placed the golden glove on his right hand, admiring the decorative jewels on the knuckles. He closed his eyes, thinking of a weapons he could create. A wicked, wrist mounted claw appeared on his right hand. He looked down at the golden tool; it resembled the Tri-Talons worn by the Barraki Ehlek's species, except the spikes on the top were a little less detailed. Grinning, he cleaved it through the air. It was a good weapon, one that would come in handy later on. Hexxon willed the energy claw to fade away. He walked towards the empty cave, where he would rest and allow his Elemental energy regenerate. Stepping in far enough so no one could see him, his sat down on a rock, and observed his gauntlet. He wasn't worried about any visitors; he'd be able to detect their presence before they found him. OOC: @ To anyone who noticed this edit: Yeah, I changed the Rhotuka power. I felt that the Poison ability was a little too potent of a power to hurl at a target. This one seemed better, for the effects are temporary, whereas the Poison's results will last until it is cured. I feel that the Poison power should remain restricted to his touch.
  18. IC: Shadowtangle Hexxon reached into his new satchel, pulling out the Kanohi Jutlin. Removing his Kualsi, the Toa replaced it with Qayzaf's mask, and looked down at the armor. He focused on the mask's power, then on the metal. The effects were immediate: the shoulder armor began to break down and rust. Oh, so it's a Mask of Corruption is it? he thought to himself. Hexxon usually refrained from immoral Kanohi like this one, but here, anything was necessary to survive. He peeled the Jutlin from his face, placing it back inside his bag and taking out Sledge's mask. Putting it on, he concentrated on both Kanohi and armor. Nothing really happened, so he turned to a small rock and crushed it under his metallic boot. Then he activated the mask power again, and watched the broken stone repair itself. Ah, a Kiril. I can now fix my tools, should they suffer any damage. The Psionics Toa replaced the Kiril with his Kualsi, and dropped it back in the sack. Now he withdrew the Rhotuka staff. It was time to discover his Rhotuka spinner power. OOC: Last post for today.
  19. IC: Shadowtangle Greel watched as the others fought against Klax, and decided to join. Reaching out with his hand, the strange being focused his telekinetic powers on the Iron Toa, creating various attacks, such as telekinetic punches, kicks, and pushes. IC: Shadowtangle Hexxon appeared standing upon the rocky slopes of the mountain. The first the he did was searching the area via telepathy; he didn't want to run into any enemies up here. At first, he sensed only a few minds, with the number increasing beyond the jungle's edge on the mountain, all of which were unintelligent Rahi. Though this he didn't worry about this. The Rahi didn't seem to be a problem up here; it was down there. Up ahead a little was a cave, which he could use as a ''home'' for now. This place was indeed going to be a fine home: he could see most of the island fom here since it was situated near the middle of the island. If there were any more of those caches he heard about, he could easily teleport down to their locations before any other slaves could snatch them. Some places were a little too far to see clearly, and Shadowtangle would only be a problem because he really couldn't see the forest floor. But teleporting to the treetops and then heading to the bottom would work. Other than that, only Haven Cove was hidden from view by Toothy Bane. Hexxon then placed the piece of armor on the ground; he was eager to test the abilities of his prizes.
  20. I did like it. It certainly surprised me. It also makes me wonder if this slime has some devious plan... Edit: A great chapter, full of good ideas. I liked Brond's way of stealing Subtarond's body, the way the titan was defeated, Brond's return (the way he turned the drill into a body was pretty cool), and Helryx's cameo. Mentioning about Tuyet's murders was a good idea too. Now I know around what time the stories are taking place (I got a little lost =P). The best part was the cliffhanger at the end. I definately liked how you described the Poison Makuta, and I'm guessing that's Indusko? But we'll find out soon, I'm sure. The ending makes me excited for what we'll see next.
  21. IC: Parched Wastes Hexxon materialized somewhere very close to the Yawning Sunder. He grinned; he was so far away from the others and violence. He would be much more safe than them, who would all probably kill themselves in combat. The Toa stopped, detecting the mind of another nearby. Out of the corner of his blue eye, he spotted a slave moving through the sand. He carried a brown sachel, strapped across his shoulder. Looking at the objects he held, Hexxon decided he needed a bag to carry them around in. Switching off the ability to hide his presence, he teleported behind the slave. While trudging through the sand, the slave noticed a looming shadow before him. He turned, only to see a very tall being swing a staff. It happened too fast for him to move; Qayzaf's weapon hit him hard on his head. The slave fell to the ground, unconscious. Hexxon smirked and removed the satchel from the poor being, along with a piece of his shoulder armor, which might come in handy later. He turned the bag upside down, emptying it of useless items. Then he turned it back over and dropped Qayzaf's and Sledge's masks inside. Strapping the bag's sling onto his shoulder, Hexxon surveyed the area. Beyond the canyon was a great forest, and a large mountain in it. That would be a wonderul place to stay for now; I could get a good view the island, he thought, and teleported there. IC: Shadowtangle Greel and Rocky watched as Rynekk began reassembling the broken bridge. It would be good to get to the other side soon. Also, to keep out for Suicavel, he had Rocky try to sniff out the Shadow Toa. There would be no mayhem this time.
  22. OOC: So, Talpid is still alive and Sledge is going into those ruins... IC: Parched Wastes The Nynrah Gauntlet was pulled off the unconscious Sledge's hand, and his mask as well. The Iron Toa's helmet fell to the ground as both objects flew quickly into Hexxon's outstreched hands, where they vanished from sight once they made contact with him. The Psionics Toa knew that Sledge's possessions flying up to and disappearing on a ruin rooftop would no doubt attract attention and reveal him. To avoid any more trouble with these people, Hexxon's head whirled. He disappeared, teleporting to the farthest place in his sight once more. And when one is standing atop a building, one can see quite far. And once he was there, he used his mask again, and again, until he was far beyond the reach of Patronage, Trian's Rahi, and all the others.
  23. IC: Parched Wastes Hexxon hurried with the telekinesis as Talpid dragged Sledge back to the ruins they were in. He watched as the gauntlet began to slide off his hand again. OOC: Just saw TPTIs' edit. Mustn't lose it yet! Just in case Sledge disappears with Patronage before ToD posts. Last post for today, by the way.
  24. IC: Shadowtangle Greel looked over at the stunned Rynekk. ''That monster - Suicavel.'' he spat. He then turned towards the rest of the group with Rocky, beckoning for the Toa to follow. OOC: I believe we're back on the Shadowtangle side.
  25. OOC: @ Levacius: You do know Hexxon is standing on the rooftop of a ruin, right? IC: Parched Wastes Now was the time! Sledge was unconscious, and the Earth Toa of Team Patronage was about to grab him. Hexxon threw out Psionic energy of telekinesis at the Nynrah Gauntlet. He was going to snatch it now before it was taken away for good. OOC: So can he get it, or do you want Sledge to keep it?
