  1. Someone got my reference. Many lemon cakes awarded to Tyler. As for the ultimate evil why not unite against that posse of killers in Mangaia?
  2. I might propose Chaos as the most significant form of government. Either the fear or acceptance of it.
  3. OOC: Wahoo for evil people doing awesome things. IC: NPC Rahkshi and Ishi Polzin The blade of Eisen's longsword was pushed upwards, caught between the prongs of the vorahk's staff. As the creature of shadow shifted stance, sliding its rear foot forward through the center line of their bout to gain ground, it swung the sword clear in a powerful arc while feeding upon Eisen's strength, and brought the back end of its staff to bear, aiming for the front ankle of the toa. It knew its power and was hungry. Rorg's bullet aimed true but as it got close to the trapped pair of rahkshi two things happened. First, the rahkshi's powers slowed the projectile to the best of its abilities in the darkened environment; and second, the dark magnetism that had been laid not only into the fabric of the rahkshi but into the very stone of Mangaia pulled the lethal object to the floor. Stuck, the bullet had been rendered useless. The rahkshi of chain lightning did not have such luck, unfortunately. The dark magnetism in its body had caused its own elemental powers to go haywire, and it shrieked violently in pain even before the lochabar axe sunk deep into its body. The metal blade too was aided by Echelon's powers and cut clean through the mechanics and sunk deep into the stone floor. Karnakie found himself staring at the shredded remains of the rahkshi's outer casing, sparks flying into his face, but inside the casing squirmed the now exposed kraata.
  4. I have a general question that may need a staff answer but I also wanted to hear from other players: are custom shaped kanohi allowed? I've been seeing a bit of a surge of kanohi with one power shaped like a kanohi with another power lately. I'm wondering if this is allowed, especially since kanohi are supposed to be these rare things that cannot be forged by NPCs or PCs and the only way to change one's kanohi is basically to buy a kanohi from a dealer that collects them off corpses, or trade with a friend. I'm going to leave my personal opinion about this on the sidelines because I really want to hear what everyone else things. Thanks!
  5. Okay, here's what I've come up with after reading what I had Lloyd write up for me as a sort of "go-to" list for running Po-Koro (since I'm only a temp and want it to seem congruous with his playing style), and everyone's opinions on the matter... There are currently no major roadways going all over the place. You're not going to find a big huge highway in the middle of the Motara with signs saying, "This way to water, this way to nui-jaga cave" with all its branching tributaries to tiny villages in the boondocks. What Po-Wahi does have, however, are caravan routes. These caravan routes are larger, single destination, trade oriented roadways marked by prominent features in the landscape, stone carvings to let you know you're going the right way, and the occasional oasis or merchant village (no more than five to ten huts, the population has convened mainly on the two major villages of Ostia and Po-Koro). It's easy to find markers and not get lost if you know what you're looking for, or you can hire a caravan to give you a lift. I feel this allows players more roleplaying opportunity than just rushing headlong down the auto-bon ala' Po-Wahi, fits the reclusive gameplay style of Lloyd's early investments into his wahi, and allows for greater movement of everyone's characters. Here are the major caravan routes and other forms of easy access travel, although other smaller ones will exist from places like the quarry to Po-Koro: Ostia to Po-Koro (Ostia is a naval port accessible by the island).Po-Koro to the border of Onu-Wahi (Attaches to whatever roads Nuju has established for his wahi).Po-Koro to the border of Ko-Wahi (attaches to whatever roads EW has established for his wahi). The Iron Mahi from Forsi to Po-Koro (A ferry can be taken directly to Ga-Koro from Forsi). As a mention of distance, just remember the entirety of Po-Wahi is little around 75-100 miles (~120-161km) in length from southern to northernmost points (it takes up roughly the norther third), and Po-Koro is plopped at about the mid-way point of that distance in the ravines and canyons. The travel takes time, which you're free to write about, or just use that good ole BZPtime and zip right along the highways to where you want to go. On the subject of future roads: I don't see why not. At the moment though please use the established caravan routes, but feel free to mention a small crew of po-matoran laying down flagstone on the road you travel. Given the slowly emerging nature of the Koro Hewkii will undoubtedly be wanting to allow freedom of travel to tourists. Thanks for brining this up everyone!
  6. If staff wants help I volunteer to pm inactive players and see of they wish to come back or have their comments removed to declutter the profile topic. There have been a few incidences of double posting there. Also, Ghosthands, Mango, and I are going to be overhauling the wiki during the summer, so links may need to be adjusted.
  7. Ill read my dossier on PO koro and get back to you guys on it.
  8. Just look up sentinels on the wiki. Should give a good amount of info. I'll send you a pm with additional details soon.
  9. IC: Kriigata Kriigata had originally planned on having the sparring session be a learning experience and a way of venting her frustration with Jorruk. Despite how terribly she wanted to throttle the priest and toss his carcass off the cliffside Kriigata had the sense to control herself. What would Jorruk tell Ak'rei'an when he reached the river before his time? The ferryman of the dead would be assuredly angered by the death of a faithful servant. However, after Ryjak's zombie had bit into Kriigata's shirt sleeve and clamped its grubby teeth around her forearm something snapped. It was no longer sparring to Kriigata: it was kill or be killed. Cocking back her left arm Kriigata brought her clamped fist forward toward Maeydra's face. She felt her hips turn and like a whip the power they generated passed across her spine, through her shoulder, and into the attack.
  10. OOC: You're right Ghosthands, the floor is solid stone. According to the post where Stannis used the stone floor to fight the dark toa alongside the other five maru there is no earth in the chamber of the vault. Anyways, what's done is done. IC: Ishi Polzin and NPC Rahkshi The kanohi sana was a mask Ishi would never fully grow accustomed to. One moment his mind was in shadow, unconscious; and bleeding to death of his wounds. The next, the kanohi's power had revived the matoran and his wounds sealed up, his energy restored, and his mismatched eyes flickered open. He stared at the face of his healer with a slackened jaw. Despite the healing Ishi was still in shock. "Black eyes," he stammered. "Black eyes." The rahkshi of hunger lunged forward into the fray, swinging its 'c' bladed staff over its head toward Echelon. Perhaps the necromancer would feel his body weaken and knees tremble as the rahkshi's dim mind hoped. Meanwhile the other two rahkshi, far smarter than the first, worked in tandem, slinking along the sidelines to go for one of the weakest in the motley group: Greisk.
  11. Fifthed. A quick start guide with essential lore and rules would be perfect. It can be very simple and condensed, with hyper links out to wiki articles or other topics.
  12. Welcome back. Check my blog for the Mata-Nui Weekly to catch up to speed in a detailed sense, or the 2013 arc of the wiki. Also, expect a pm soon.
  13. Dunno about the specifics but I'm sure when someone starts making a fight in a crowded room it's going to have a ripple effect.
  14. Before I take up the huge offer of interaction that is psionic willhammer battling leaving a mark across the public psionic plane anyone want to jump in on that? Relisai's 'hammering Mako.
  15. I may jump in. Looking sweet. Loving the high word count.
  16. It is although I'm getting annoyed by it. XD At the same time it makes my life with the WEEKLY really helpful.
  17. IC: Kriigata She wiped her brow and leaned against the cart for a moment after they'd finished pushing it out of the way. Without it the courtyard of sand, pebbles, and flagstone looked much larger. Kriigata gave the two newcomers a a quick look, rolling her shoulders in preparation. "I don't see why not. Jaaku?"
  18. IC: Kriigata "Excellent idea. It'd be a good warm up." She laughed. "It's really full." Kriigata stood up and put a hand on the doorframe before crossing the threshold to the stairs. It was a worn wood, sandblasted by storms and let to decay until the Brotherhood had returned. The bolts in the door were once iron but rust turned them into a mess of red and orange. She pitied the metal and moved on. Outside the sun beat down fiercely. Without her heavy coat and chain-mail Kriigata felt far lighter and there was a spring to her step. Whether or not it was because of Jaaku she couldn't say. The cart, piled high with its cargo under a large tarp, seemed daunting until she braced her shoulders against the wood and looked into Jaaku's eyes. "Ready?"
  19. IC: The change in stability was noticed immediately although Kriigata decided not to mention it. It would be better to let the little things go by without calling out each detail in turn. Instead, she focused on his question. "I haven't trained or sparred with anyone in a while." She admitted. "In fact, I don't think I ever really learned to fight in a traditional setting. Everything I know got picked up in the moment or..." Kriigata paused, attempting to locate a part of her past that with each passing day proved more elusive. "With someone I met a long time ago. Anyways, I was thinking we could do something in the courtyard once the cart is moved."
  20. IC: Kriigata "It does take a while to get instructions from zombies but I figured you'd go for a room with a view. How'd you manage to get a study out of our Grandmaster?" said Kriigata. The toa of iron sat down on a rickety wooden stool. It creaked as she leaned her back against the blackened stone wall and for a while she was lost to the concentration of opening a water flask and taking a sip of the liquid inside. "Baths are wonderful but they sure leave me parched. "Now, about our fight..."
  21. OOC: World-building post galore. IC: Kriigata "Thank you, sir, but I feel perfectly competent removing my own garments. I'll find your study once I've finished." She let the remark linger cheekily and closed the door, placing her back to the wooden frame before walking into the baths. They were a group of rough hewn holes in the rock, a natural upwelling of water from a rare wellspring, the only one for miles in any direction. Taking a heat-stone from its canister she dropped it into a pool and watched as the orange stone turned the water to steam on contact, bubbles echoing its plunge to the bottom. Her dark purple coat with armored plates came off first, followed by the shirt of mail and other pieces of her wardrobe, and then with satisfaction she sank herself into the warm water... ~ It felt good to be clean. After so long traveling with Jorruk she almost forgot what it felt like not to have sand in her audio receptors or sweat in her joints, and the off-white fabric of her flowing clothes only added to her reposed demeanor. She knocked on the wooden door once and entered Jaaku's study. "Nice place you've made for yourself. Love what you did with the window. The broken glass is a nice touch."
  22. OOC: Getting Caught up never felt so laborious, lol. WHOOHOO FOR SO MUCH INTERACTION. IC: Daikura Koga and Ihi The Sun arced across the dance floor, heat-stones warming those who orbited close by. He was not the center of the universe, simply the first son of the Daikura clan garbed in light and heat and silk. In his hand he carried a wide-brimmed but shallow glass of the wine, taken from a waiter who had like an asteroid passed Koga by in a moment of celestial divination. It is a party, drink, be gay, the comet had prophesied. One was supposed to follow the wisdom of the stars of course, and so the Sun was swept up by the celebrations until he found his daughter of night. :Tasa!: Koga ideatalked the pet-name with a smile blazing an arc across the unmasked portion of his face. The tall orange and yellow spikes of his mask dipped as Koga leaned forward and tapped his brow upon his daughter's. :It's good to see you my sweet. I heard of your prowess in this year's Tarakona Games. A great honor to win such high esteem. How's your mother?: The toroshu of the Daikura clan had disappeared before the arrival of Koga. She had spoken to him recently on a willhammer lesson plan and was loath to spend another moment in the presence of his gaudy costume sense. Instead, Ihi had taken her bedazzled self to the wings of the dance floor where a Kingfisher delicately dipped into a sea of fish to pull out a choice pair. Upon reaching the man she realized it was indeed who she had hoped. "Ah, Inokio, would you do me the pleasure of a dance?" Ihi asked. She knew him from the Yards, his frequent visits and occasional forays into teaching had left a permanent memory in the mind of the toroshu.
  23. IC: Ishi Polzin and... Ishi's eyes trained unsuccessfully to follow the course of the action but caught little other than fleeting shadows moving in the deadly dance of combat. His hold on consciousness began to slip once more, stayed only by another cough of blood splattering the front of his coat. It was opalescent and glittered maliciously in the ruddy illumination of the dying light-stones. As his mind descended into darkness the shrill shriek of a foul monster echoed through the halls of Mangaia. He would have given warning but words failed him. There was too much pain. Darkness descended and the shadows of Mangaia took the little man with big secrets. The conflict before the great door to Makuta's Vault rippled with echoes out into the six main passages, and from there down into the worming caverns and tunnels dug by fouler things than simple rahi. From one large passage came at first a feral hissing, and then a pair of long legs and a bladed spine stalked out warily into the chamber. Rabid, hungry, and no longer under the control of its father, the rahkshi plunged into the fray with a shriek. It's armor was ebony and its staff was capped in a pair of blades reminiscent of a 'C'. From where it came two more followed, as equally lean as the first. OOC: EDITED, so these rahkshi are Hunger, Slow, and Chain Lightning, with permission of EW (Staff).
  24. IC: Kriigata "By all means lead the way. Nice talking to you Zekev," Kriigata said. OOC: Sorry I don't have more right now to write. Blargh.
