  1. I had a 3.0 Nex and 3.0 Stormer in storage for 3 years and a Breakout Evo in storage for 2 years from during my downtime and their limbs are none the worse for it. Heck, just yesterday I got them out to dismantle them for parts and, using them for random experimental mocs, they felt about as stiff as the limbs on my Bionicle 2015 sets.
  2. Well, for starters the color schemes are one hundred times more vibrant and interesting than anything produced in 2008, and the Toa Mata actually look like themselves. I'd say it's well on its way to surpassing 2008, if it hasn't already. Just to make a quick clarification that I don't mean the sets. while I liked them, they're hardly my favorites (that'd be 2004 and 2007 which I already consider 2015 to be just as good and probably better), I meant the story. Even then that's for comparison to the climax year of this gen.
  3. When you say Bionicle 2001, do you refer to Bionicle G1 or just the year 2001? If the latter, then 2015 definitely wins. The only things that can compete are the worldbuilding (which has barely begun for 2015) and the large sets (and even then that's just because I really like Technic-heavy Rahi). Everything from the Toa's sets to the supporting character sets to the current mysteries have been more intriguing to me (though that may be because I saw what G1 could accomplish so I'm excited for what G2 can accomplish). If you mean G1, then I can't really say cause that's comparing 10 years to a single year. So far, 2015 has been hitting all the high notes for me compared to 2001 (except for the games but we've only seen one so far). For me the question is if it will ever surpass 2008 (which I have hopes that it will).
  4. Air Control So far the game that has scared me most is SCP Containment Breach. With the sheer number of SCPs to watch out for, one will always catch you off guard. Special mentions also go to the Amnesia games and their custom stories, particularly The Dark Descent and When Life no Longer Exists, which were really unnerving. Also a special mention to the FNAF games, especially 2, for being so unnerving (even if they are a bit jumpscare reliant, the atmosphere sells it and the vague story that starts taking shape is very disturbing) and to Slender: The Arrival for so much adult horror concerning Charlie Matheson Jr, CR and Kate. Also to the Half-Life games for being scary in the psychological and action horror department. Bonus points for the part in Half-Life 2, chapter Water Hazard, where after destroying the Hunter-Chopper you go to open the dam (or rather a big enough part of it to go through) to proceed to Black Mesa East. At this point I felt like this was the calm before the storm (I was expecting an ambush at Black Mesa East) so I just took in the beautiful scenery. Then I saw someone looking at me in the distance. It was the G-Man. Once I looked, he left. After that I kept feeling like I was being watched, which turns out I was because I entered the first shed still thinking about the G-Man which allowed the Combine soldiers inside to get the drop on me.
  5. I hope we get to go more locations, I want Okoto to develop but we also shouldn't stay there forever. I'd like to visit other planets, too. His ship wouldn't need any cannons. Yup, he just needs the Mast of Life.
  6. Sorry for off topic question, but is Inika really pronounced "in-i-kah"? I've always pronounced it "in-ee-kah". I know it comes from the word ignite but still, sounds a little weird to me. Does the same go for the Kanohi Ignika?
  7. I remember building Pridak at a Ponderosa Steak House many years ago and I built Nex 3.0 and Stormer 3.0 at school back in 2011 since I received them in a gift exchange. I'd say those are the weirdest places I've ever built a set.
  8. The silver arm struck me as robotic from the beginning, which is why I think it should be the geared arm (but the explanation of it being harder to control makes sense too). He lost that arm punching LOSS between the fangs, he swears on his biomum.
  9. That sounds about as weird as the spoof of WoS I'm working on in which the Toa Metru are a harem, Vakama is a tsundere and Roodaka is a yandere. I like it. I wonder how Cats would be like. xD It could indeed work, but I wonder would you use the same voices as the musical proper or get some performers?
  10. I kind of disagree. Exposed ball joints hardly ever bother me, but the way you have it his shoulder armor no longer fits snugly over his forearms the way it did originally, which is part of what defines his silhouette and makes him look distinct from the other Toa. If the exposed ball joints really bother you there's a far easier way to mask them on Tahu—just stick a pair of Y-joints on them, pointed up, and they should effectively mask the small gap between his torso armor and gearbox. I don't know what Y joints are, but I used the old black pieces used as hands in the original bionicle run instead (Don't know what those are called either) and that covered up the exposed ball joints enough to satisfy me. Thanks for the tip! Thats really the only major gripe I have about the sets, it just makes them feel incomplete to me. Besides that, tahu looks fantastic! Like others have mentioned I'm really impressed with the CCBS system after getting these new sets and am kind of feeling guilty for bashing Hero Factory all of these years. I believe Y-Joints are the classic standard hand pieces.
  11. I received the rest of the Toa and 5 Protectors for Dia de los Reyes today. Now I'm only missing Protector of Earth. I'm gonna go over brief thoughts on all of them: Tahu - Even though his legs are kinda gappy in the back he still looks great. Love the way his swords can be positioned in the back and his blades give me major Lhikan vibes, which I love. Protector of Fire - I love its build but I don't really like its proportions. The legs are okay but the arms feel lacking (elbows). Still, it's an awesome set. Kopaka - Still my favorite. Still love his bulky lower legs, though I wish his upper legs weren't gappy. The stickers were thankfully easy to apply but I still eye over it to see any mistakes (and I didn't apply it symmetrically on one side. ARG!). His shield is held a little awkwardly but it looks awesome so I forgive that. Protector of Ice - Even though the lack of elbows is a little distracting for me, its weapons more than make up for it. There's just something about it that I find really cool. Onua - Beautiful but shoulder pads and lower chest y u silver? ;_; His build was brilliant, though. Also, PURPLE! Pohatu - I heard he was pretty lackluster and, while the build wasn't very special, he looks fantastic. I was worried about his asymmetrical arms and now I love them (but I think the silver arm should be the throwing arm) and his boomerangs are as awesome as I thought they'd be. Protector of Stone - Pretty cool but the way its upper leg's shells are positioned, it has to keep its legs apart. Not too big an issue, but I wish they'd been positioned to the side (I know I can change it if I wanna but I don't like modding my sets). Its weapon is kinda awkwardly held but it looks amazing enough to distract from that. Lewa - Love this guy so much. His colors are fantastic, his weapons are gorgeous but the neck annoys me (mainly because he's a flyer, otherwise I wouldn't care much) and I think the axe heads should've been silver like Gali's. I would've rather they recolored Onua's shovels as warm gold for his shoulder pads instead of recoloring these as titanium gunmetal. Still, aesthetically I see them as if they were built improvised with an axe head from a titanium gunmetal axe and a normal blade, tied together by some sort of yellow adhesive/wood/whatever so I don't mind much. Protector of Jungle - Really nicely built and THE CROSSBOW! It's beautiful. The colors are nice, too. Trans-green is really pretty. Gali - Second favorite, right after Kopaka. Everything about her works so well. Her weapon is beautiful and she looks fantastic in mermaid form. That's also my favorite shade of blue for water sets, really hope we see it again in the future. Protector of Water - Probably my favorite Protector so far (still need to have Protector of Earth in hand to rank them). Its color scheme is fantastic and the blaster setup is probably my favorite kind (strong contest with PoJ). Lord of Skull Spiders - I was an advocate for LOSS since the reveal and I still stand by it. It looks fantastic and where it lacks in poseability it makes up for in sheer enjoyment playing around with it. I found its mask grabbing function works rather well, too.
  12. I'd rather expand any one continuity for a good number of years before rebooting again.
  13. Tomorrow is Dia de los Reyes where I live, and I sense some Bonkles coming.
  14. Movies 4-7 are airing on Disney XD over these few days (Pokemon 4Ever is ending now and will air again at 12 PM) one movie per day for the next 4 days. I haven't seen Destiny Deoxys (7) so I'll be sure to tune in on the 8th.
  15. Caught up to the most recent episode of Parasyte, now I really can't wait for Wednesday. Gonna try to finish Ano Hana today.
  16. Just give me Bonkles in Half-Life 3 and I'll be happy. While I really like Telltale's work, I'd rather have a Bionicle game that's either mainly first person combat (because it's more immersive, but third person ala Bionicle Heroes but with more melee would do too) or RPG.
  17. I'm currently watching Parasyte (at the pilot atm), planning to pick up SAO and Soul Eater again when I have time. I also read a manga that bears a name that I do not think I can post here. Despite me reading it out of a dare and expecting some sort of satire, it actually got really deep and I really enjoyed it.
  18. I still have a Shiny Ho-Oh that came from HGSS that someone gave to me on Bulbagarden. I've been SR-ing for Zekrom. No luck.
  19. My parents brought these from Toys 'R' Us: They said the Three Kings might bring more, hinting at Gali.
  20. We're not positive this one will be Biological Chronicle as well (it likely is but we're not 100% sure, and with the very probable lack of a GSR they'd have to make it as such another way). Still, as Bionicle is a portmanteau I'd say it should be both singular and plural at once. Of course, anyone's free to use the word as they like but I'll remain referring to Bionicle in the plural as "Bionicle sets/characters" or "Bonkles".
  21. I was also watching Mirai Nikki abridged. I really hope YunoInbox continues it.
  22. Vote Pohatu's Stormerangs for weapon in Half-Life 3. So using the Target scanner website it says some Targets near me have some of the sets so I'll check that out on the 26th when stores reopen.
  23. I've checked at a bunch of Targets, TRUs and Wal-Marts in Kissimmee and nothing. Most employees didn't even know Bionicle was returning (and some didn't even know what it is), and the employees at the Lego Imagination Center at Downtown Disney didn't even know the street date for Bionicle. At the retailers there were a lot of 2015 sets (Junior Easy to Build, Disney Princess, Minecraft, etc.) but no Bionicle (or even an empty shelf with the name Bionicle). All the stores I asked at said they already put out everything they had (nothing left in the back).
