i heard sakurai mains ganondorf hahaha DLC won't necessarily hurt gameplay if it's all cosmetic. that's how they do DLC in street fighter. it's all just alt costumes and such. most of them are usually worse. they could do the same thing in smash, just add in like a lucina skin for marth instead of a new character.

now i've never played ff6 so i can't dispute your points directly but you seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding of what a 'protagonist' is. it really is just the person the camera follows the most. and remember that you can have multiple protagonists. you seem to be under the impression you can only have one.

i was 100% for swampert this time around but swift swim is sorta useless in game so i might consider sceptile. am i the only one that thought mega evos kinda broke the story mode in XY?

final fantasy has really been watered down with the over saturation of eastern rpgs or action games that drew examples from it. like it's still the daddy of them all, but now the sons are grown up and do what it did just as well, figuratively. i'm about as over final fantasy as i can get.

yeah i get that but why not just take their movesets too, they're tested and reliable. like it probably won't matter if you're being original or not so just take what's good.
