Woah.  CCBS wobbles? I have never had this problem at all.

Roodaka was overall a sexist character but nobody seems to acknowledge this just because she's presented as having agency and power and greg made her species female dominated

 

everything about her is tailored towards male audiences and the male gaze: her overly exaggerated female features and her habits of slinking around and whispering seductively into people's ears. It's presented as a strong female character, but isn't really.

I remember TTV talking about CCBS joints breaking if you leave them in a static position on your shelf or something for a long time. Does that hold any truth?

I feel its more the temp they are kept in. The cold makes them brittle. Of course, playing with them warms them with friction, but if they a kept warm enough, you shoudnt have any issues.

I got all my sets from amazon today. They all look so much better in person than on a screen. Beautiful. I have only built the Toa so far and will probably build the rest tomorrow.

Now, personally? I was raised to look at things from a scientific point of view, with biology of course taking precedence over behavioral studies. I don't consider gender a conscious choice, I consider it the result of the different brain patterns between men and women. Thus, you are either male or female. Suppose your brain structure doesn't match your body, though? Then you have a case of gender dysphoria, and mind over matter applies. Someone isn't a "transgendered woman", they're a woman, who just happens to have been born into a male body.

 

But then again, I've always found ways to make both "traditional" and "progressive" people mad at me. So I suppose this sort of view is only natural.*

 

Now, I digress, onto the original topic:

 

A super-powerful time-travelling force from the future is trying to make all franchises gender-equal (50% dudes, 50% dudettes).

Either willingly or out of reluctance, you are selected as their emissary for Bionicle, and tasked with making the original six gender-equal.

You have the freedom to choose which Toa you will pre-retcon as female (or male if you decide to pre-retcon Gali's gender, given that at least three Toa are female).

 

Which three would you have as gals, and which three would you have as guys?

 

(The Matoran and Turaga would reflect your change.)

I, personally, would pre-retcon Lewa and Pohatu as females. Lewa, because his free-spirited personality would also work well if he were a she. Pohatu to differentiate himself/herself from Onua even further.

 

Well, first off, I'd take as long as I possibly could to complete the task, so that I may learn the source of the beings power and claim it for myself, therefore creating world peace through the implementation of beautifully intertwined liberty and order.

 

But, in the meantime, I might as well have fun altering the timeline.

 

Now, Gali can remain female, because there's no sense fixing what isn't broken.

 

The others? An interesting ideal. The first thing I'd take into account is the moral message, and the development of characters. If we really want to create a balance, the most important thing to do is to keep a gender balance not between characters, but between characters who are meant to set an example. The three principal characters who undergo development are Tahu, Kopaka, and Lewa; Gali, Onua, and Pohatu honestly don't change nearly as much.

 

As it stands, we'll have an imbalance. Now, considering that Kopaka is basically deputy on the team, moving him into being a her could work. The personality would also work well enough with the shift, so there wouldn't be much difficulty. Lewa? I'm not so sure. I get the whole "Genki Girl" thing, but I'm not so sure about it myself. Doesn't really fit.

 

So, if we can't move over a developed character, we should at least move over a better role model, to maintain some balance. Between Onua and Pohatu, it depends on interpretation. But personally? I see Pohatu as the better option, especially in the light of expanded athletics programs for girls. Further, he contrasts more with Kopaka and Gali, which adds variety.

 

Therefore, the practical answer is:

 

Male: Tahu, Lewa, Onua

Female: Kopaka, Gali, Pohatu

 

Of course, there's even more to it then that. If we follow the rules of the topic, we wind up with:

 

Male: Vakama, Matau, Whenua

Female: Nuju, Nokama, Onewa

 

Male: Jaller, Kongu, Nuparu

Female: Matoro, Hahli, Hewkii

 

You'll note that the switch, for Hewkii, causes Macku/Hewkii to show support to the LGBT community some twelve years before Korrasami. It also positions Matoro, the primary focus character of the 2006-2007 storyline, as female. Seeing as Takua/Takanuva held that spot 2001-2003, and Vakama 2004-2005, that seems only fair to me.

 

Just one more thing:

 

I'd make Lewa and Kopaka female because Wairuha

Personally though I could see any character being female. It would be interesting to see Tahu as a female and maybe Lewa too

What delivery system is Lego using to deliver them? If it's FedEx/USPS, then your stuff should be in good hands. (All of this is assuming you're in the U.S., though I'm having doubts about FedEx delivering my missing sets on time.)

CALLING ALL LEGO SHOP-A-HOLLICS

Okay so I'm a little worried. 

I havent ordered from LEGO shop @ Home in absolutely ages, but I recently made an order on there (Sunday), and when i click on order status it says "please contact customer services"

I cant work out if it means one of two things.

1. I just means that if I want to find where my orders at I need to contact customer services, but there is nothing wrong with it.

2. Something is wrong with my order and I need to contact customer services to find out what it is.

Anyone with experience ordering from this site, please get back to me.

Depends how early on the day, but I would count it out. Normally it's business days though, so if you order then today, it won't count anyway.

I've just ordered all the sets of the Lego Website so I should get them this week.

Still trying to decide whether or not I'll open my Transparent Tahu Mask and have my Tahu set wear it... hrm.

I dont know man, Ive seen pictures and Im probably gonna keep both my NYCC Packaging and the VIP Packaging Tahu Mask both in their cases, bc I dont see any reason to open it and put it on both of my Tahus. Plus they look really cool in the packaging and I saw a couple of pictures of Tahu with his Transparent Mask and to me it looks ehh.

 

The packaging is actually designed so you can open it with out breaking it. Its great.

Actually, although sets LEGO sends out to websites for events or reviews invariably come from Denmark, sets you order from LEGO come from local distribution channels, much like the ones you find in stores. If all sets ordered from LEGO came from Denmark, then none of them would have the North American packaging with part counts on the front.

So if ordered the sets from Lego.com instead of Walmart.com, I would've gotten them earlier because there's a LEGO shop a few miles away from me? Dang it.

I think it's different from America. I'm in the UK and tracking always starts in Denmark. I believe the US has it's own way of doing things though.

We'll personally the Po-Koro scene from the bohrok animations is my favorite thing Templar has ever done. But would that be classed as a snippet?
