  1. King of Dust

It was when an orange sky turned to grey

And the Sun died out in the winter fray

The angel with no wings cried out for her kingdom

As the fires rose high over her legion

And mortal men were cast aside

For this was the time for the Demons to ride

And the King sat and smiled n his throne

As he looked at his brother made of bone

And a single tear shed down his cheek

But the Demon of Death did not speak

Though he looked for the sun but the sky was bleak

And as the King settled down his gaze

And wiped his eyes from with dusty haze

He saw what sort of a man he’d become

And that all of his regret had not gone

And all that he saw was a kingdom of dust

Where old ships were left to rust

But as he looked up with awe

Oh the demon king he saw

The sun shone through the murky clouds

He let a sobbing screech aloud

And as his teary eyes shut tight

He knew that even dust could turn to gold in sunlightIt was when an orange sky turned to grey

Comments and criticism appreciated. Its just a poem about a book I eventually plan to write. Dont know if I ever will though. Put this together in about 10 mins and you can probably tell. Just wanted to share anyway.

    Thanks.

  2. I still don't understand why people call "Keetorange" "Keet-ORANGE" ... it's yellow. Yes, it has a golden/orange tint, but it's pretty yellow.

    I hate being color-blind.

Its sort of a mix between the two. I hate when in real life if Im describing something that colour I'll go to say Keetorange before realising people wont have a single clue what Im on about.

  3. Anyone actually think this could be a lot like the circumstances of 01. The Toa were on their way to Metru Nui in 01 but got sent to Mata Nui instead, right?

Well what if they were actually destined to go somewhere else(like some other planet), but the Protectors sent up some sort of distress beacon that automatically made the Toa crash land on that planet. Maybe we could find out more about their original goal as the time goes on.

I don't see any issue in staying focused on a cast of characters. Did fans of Breaking Bad complain that Walt was the protagonist the entire run of the show? Did fans of Teen Titans complain that the story continued to focus on the Teen Titans?

Truly well-written characters should be able to carry a plot without getting stale. If people get bored of the Toa Mata, it's the fault of poor writing, not an inherent issue with keeping a consistent cast.

And look where HF ended up.

Yeah, with four and a half years of sets despite having the worst toy-based TV show I have ever had the displeasure of subjecting myself to. Its longevity was more impressive than people give credit.

Im not talking about watching a TV show Im talking about playing with toys and making a story with them. Its lioke trying to paint a painting with only a few colours. not much you can really do with them after a while. Giving more colours opens up more possibilities of what you can paint.

And you have just said yourself HFs plot got stale lol

I wonder when/if we will see any more Toa. I cant see another team at least before the three years are up. But if we do go beyond that I think its going to get stale fast with the Toa Mata(or maybe Oktoko now).

I would definitely like to see a completely new Toa Team. We are due one are we not?

I don't think so. One think Ninjago and Hero Factory have done that I view as an improvement over Bionicle's story is sticking with a core cast of characters. Changing the main characters up completely every few years can be confusing and I'd much rather see the new theme develop the six original Toa more instead of having to replace them so frequently.

Sorry man. I have to disagree with you. I like having characters for a few years because they can be fleshed out, but do you really think Bionicle would have lasted anywhere near as long with just the Toa Mata? Especially if they need a new iteration every year. Ninjago doesnt really need to worry about that too much and even HF added to its bunch of characters. I know it wasnt an entirely new team but still a 50% increase. Also HF was episodic so it could get away with it better IMO. Bionicle was an on going story just needed to evolve over time.

Besides. I think for kids who liked playing with the toys, what incentive do they have to go and buy Tahu 5.0 besides the fact he is Tahu and Bionicle. Hes just the same character. just looks different. Where as if a new team was introduced thats six new characters to spice things up and open up more possibilities.

    Just my opinion though

On the Protectors: I am kind of disappointed they all got the same masks. LEGO did a nice job of differentiating their body types, but giving them unique masks would've made them more reminiscent of the '01 Turaga, seeing as they're the village leaders. Plus if LEGO decided to do the whole "collect all the masks" thing again with mask packs it would be great for collectability.

Speaking of Turaga, what if the Protectors had Turaga names?

I feel like they might in the story, but since these are supposed to represent both generic villagers and their elders they opted not to include them on the packaging.

    -NotS

The villagers actually are shorter but with the same masks. At least in the animation

Do you guys want more old characters on this new line, or are you satisfied with the original Toa Mata and Makuta being the only ones ? I really hope we get some old Matoran characters, like Jaller and Takua.

I really want to see Takanuva, but apart from that I don't want too many old faces.  It'd be weird to me if the bulk of the new series' characters were just re-imagined old ones.  I do half headcanon the protector sets as the original Turaga, though. :P

I actually really like all of the new sets, bar maybe Onua (and Lewa's mask).  I'm leaning towards Gali and Pohatu as favs rn.

If the toa are the toa from G1 I wonder of we will see any other people from that universe. Maybe some Matoran could go looking for them and become toa, just like the inika.

I wonder if Okoto is a location on Spherus Magna.

That'd be pretty neat, but since the only part of SM that contains oceans is Aqua Magna (as far as I know), and we've explored all of that, I doubt that the island of Okoto is on the same planet. It's looking more like they'll be throwing ten years of story out the window, which is a shame IMO as I grew up with and enjoyed it.
Right, because when two planets merge there's no chance the geography could change and a new island could pop up.Stranger things have happened!

True. It's just I don't think a continuation could work in the long run.

Looks like Lego is going for the anime vibe this time around. Between the "Okoto" and the removal of certain Maori terminology, it would appear that they are heading that direction.

I heard that something word that was almost similar in spelling to Okoto is a New Zealand city, or something. Didn't the Maori come from there

It's not just Okoto, they are fighting in the "mountains of Okoto". Fighting/living in a mountain setting is Asian-y culture generally. Also the leaked set names which we can't talk about seem to suggest this as well.

I wouldn't rush to assume anything at this point, though. They seem to be aiming for an Asian/anime feel, but that's only a theory, and it could be wrong.

I woulnt count the word Toa out of the story just yet

  11. I don't know. I have a lot if characters I see as female just because I was confused as a kid. Takadox, Nidihki, Krika, Vamprah. Not saying I would like to see them as these genders in the reboot but still. I definatly want to see more female canister villains. Just one a year would do.
