  1. IC: Zaak "Change of plan! Vyns, follow me!" Zaak quickly gave chase to the fleeing Skakdi, forgoing the streets in favor of the rooftops. The Skakdi, apparently one of Plant Life, was armed with a Cordak Blaster. Zaak grinned. Clearly not a close quarters specialist he thought, already planning his attack. He vaulted a chimney, jumped a roof and leaped sideways, tackling the Skakdi to the ground. The Cordak Blaster went skittering across the street, but the blue-green Skakdi grabbed a pair of long knives and violently curled his body, which sent Zaak flying over him. The Toa landed on his back with a grunt, before kicking to his feet ninja-style and grabbed his staff off of his back, watching his opponent's eyes for a hint of an attack. Seeing this, the Skakdi's already unnatural grin widened further as his eyes started glowing. Instantly, Zaak found he couldn't keep his balance as he stumbled drunkenly backwards, trying to find a wall to support himself on as the Skakdi moved forward slowly, spinning a knife in its hand. "Vyns! Any time now!" Zaak shouted.
  2. So was the element/powers/race of the third Chain stated? I forgot if it was stated anywhere...
  3. IC: Zaak "Well, someone has so kindly frozen one for us, so that last part shouldn't be too difficult... comparatively." Zaak examined the situation, before saying, "How does this sound? Naona and the Vortixx swing in through the back door, I swing in through the window, and Romain and the Toa of Iron barge in the front? Someone should reinforce the ice, that won't keep him for long." Zaak added as an afterthought.
  4. IC: Jake "Cool! Now that we have that all sorted, I think we should head through Oreburgh Gate, if only so Jacob can stock up on some supplies at the city." He stuffed everything semi-neatly into his backpack in preparation, then returned his Pokemon after snagging back his hat from Pikachu, dusting it off, and putting the head wear back on his head.
  5. IC: Zaak "I've got the roofs if they get away." Zaak quietly climbed a few barrels and crates next to the building and, stepping softly and without noise, took position above the door, to surprise whoever managed to get past the current guards.
  6. IC: Zaak "I will from now on. Thank you." Zaak turned back to Naona. "Looks like you've got yourself a Toa of Plasma."
  7. IC: Zaak Zaak sighed to himself. "Sorry Naona. Chief asked to see me in his office, so unless he lets me go, you may have to find another person." While Zaak waited for the Po Toa's answer, he glanced over at Zorvon to see what the police captain would say.
  8. So when do you guys think Yumabit will show up?
  9. IC: Zaak Zaak felt the telltale tingle in his mask of a truth being told. His mask would have buzzed uncomfortably with a lie. "He is telling the truth." Zaak stated.
  10. IC: Zaak Zack noticed Naona attempting to rouse the gang member. "If you need a lie detector, I'm here", Zaak said quietly to the Po Toa. While waiting for the thug to wake, Zaak let his mind drift back towards Zorvon's words ant the end of the main fight. He sighed in resignation. He was probably going to have to help with paper work again, or maybe worse... cleaning the restrooms. The Toa shuddered at the very thought of it.
  11. So... which is the other gang that was at the fight? I never really figured it out.
  12. IC: Zaak Zaak shuffled his feet nervously. He wasn't the best interrogator; he usually just stood to the side and let the others do the work while he told the interrogators if the prisoner was lying. A Mask of Truth really helped in these situations. He waited to see who would take the offer, then assist as necessary.
  13. IC: Zaak Zaak calmed himself with a few deep breathing excersises, before stuffing his emotions into the back of his mind. He replaced his staff to its place on his back, before going to stand near the barricade. He couldn't help with putting out fires, so he decided to wait by the barricade, watching the clean up proceed.
  14. IC: Zaak Zaak twisted between the two spinners, continuing to analyze his opponent as he searched for any weaknesses or flaws to exploit, before his eyes wandered to the floor, looking for anything to trip over. Zaak's eyes landed on a certain body, one with an unusual mask and armor combination. His mind flashed back to his time before the police force, back when he still taught self-defense... OOC: Don't have italics because I am using a phone, so enter flashback sequence... IC: "Don't make this any harder than it needs to be." Zaak glanced around, worried. He was cornered, backed against the wall of an alley, and his assailents had a gun. While Zaak was confident he could take them, but the possible repercussions disturbed him however, he wasn't going to just back down. "Look, I don't want any trouble," Zaak tried to smooth over the situation. "Some martial arts freak from your class killed a member of our gang! Everyone you teach or have taught in the past is a possible threat to us, which much be removed. Starting with you." The rusty armored Glatorian brought up his firearm to shoot, only to find that he and his allies were knocked to the ground as the plasma Toa sprinted for his home. Upon reaching it, he found his dojo and attached home ablaze. Resisting the urge to fall to his knees and sob, Zaak ran up te street to try to catch whoever had done this. He saw a Toa running away, with a very unusual armor and mask combination. With a wild yell, Zaak let loose a plasma bolt at the precise moment the fleeing arsonist turned, melting part of his mask and torso. Before he could continue to give chase however, Zaak felt a strong blow to the base of his neck and everything faded to black... OOC: End flashback IC: Zaak took another half second to make sure of what he was seeing, and made out te hints of melted armor residue on the fallen figure's old armor. There was no mistaking this. The Shadowblades were the gang that had destroyed his old life. He expexted to feel fear, maybe anger, but what settled on him was the weight of despair. He felt himelf be pulled away from the battle, flying back across the street to the police-held position. He wanted to sigh, or rage, or just break down, but what happened was far from any of those. "That was them... They... They were responsible for that..." His mutterings were cut short by the magnetic pull lessening, causing him to drop bodily to the ground. He picked himself up with a blank stare on his face, trying to simoultaneously keep control of his emerging anger and break out of the sudden feeling of hopelesness that threatened to break him down.
  15. IC: Zaak Zack, upon hearing the distinctive hum of a Rhotuka spinner getting quickly louder, preformed a low sweeping kick, tripping up his current opponent just enough to knock him into the path of the incoming spinner. It hit Zaak's opponent directly in the chest. Zack noted that the victim seemed to look around confused before he was stabbed in the chest. Turning in the direction of the offending spinner, Zaak was met with a most unpleasant sight. Barreling towards him, battleaxe in hand, was an orange Toa of Iron that Zaak recognized as Horic, a new leader of one of the myriad of gangs that plagued the Undercity. Settling in a defensive stance, the Toa spun his staff rapidly in both hands, gaining momentum for a succession of quick strikes at the start of the battle. The gang members, seeing this obvious challenge by/to their leader, quickly moved away in a rough circle, some to watch the fight and some to avoid any collateral damage that could be caused by the ensuing clash. OOC: I assume that the gang members move away in a circle thing is okay, right?
  16. IC: Jake Jake grinned at the complement to his food. "Cool, glad you like it." He grabbed the lemon tea for himself and took a sip before acknowledging Ruth. "Don't worry; I have enough to share if you want. I only planned to use this for special occasions anyway, like the day of a gym or something like that." He grinned and looked up at the still brightening sky. "So... do you guys want to head out soon? You don't have to worry about cleaning the dishes. Just rinse them and I can wash them at the Pokemon Center." He suggested. OOC: Sorry for the late response, didn't see Ehks's post.
  17. IC: Zaak / The Undercity / Gang Fight Zaak sprinted over the rooftops, attracted to the sound of fighting. He heard the reports from other officers, and it sounded like an absolute Karz-fest had broken out in only a few seconds. Upon arriving at the scene of the battle, he was at first shocked to see that such a huge fight had broken out. He quickly jumped down from the building near a collapsed structure. Zaak heard muffled noises from inside. Without a second thought, he grabbed his weapon from his back and sliced a stone slab that was on top of whoever was down there to rubble. Before the dust even cleared, his hand reached down into the space, grabbing a trembling Matoran by the arm and pulling him from the hole. "Run! It's not safe here!" Zaak ordered the Matoran, who quickly nodded his head and bolted down a back alley. Before he had even vanished from sight, Zaak turned around towards the main battle. Doing a quick scan, the Toa was a bit surprised to see Romain there, along with a few more familiar faces. He realized that not only was he in an open area, but also had a possibility of being surrounded by gang members. He vaulted back to the roof using a combination of fallen rubble and convenient cracks in the wall, then took off running, shooting a few blasts of plasma into the highest concentrations of gang members while jumping between rooftops towards the police position. Luckily, he wasn't far, and he quickly reached a rooftop above a Police-manned barricade. Executing a perfect frontflip, he landed in a shoulder role (very difficult to do with his choice of weapon) and came up running. His mind, detached, already determining which opponent should be fought first, barely noticed as he sprinted past Romain. Seconds later, staff spinning so quickly it was a blur in his hands, Zaak vaulted the barricade and joined the fight. The first unfortunate gang member to meet his whirling blades only saw a flash of silver before his head rolled away from his body. He continued on, the spin of his staff undiminished by the encounter, seeking another opponent to fight.
  18. Name: Zaak Species: Male Toa of Plasma Affiliation: Undercity Police Powers: Elemental control over Plasma and all that entails (plasmatic blasts, melting most substances, resistance to high temperatures, etc), ability to divine falsehoods through mask. Gear: Great Mask of Truth, a well-kept metal staff with protosteel short sword blades on each end, small explosive projectile launcher. Skills: First and foremost, Zaak is a fighter. He has reflexes that have been described as ‘catlike’, and is a crack shot with most ranged weapons. He excels in close quarters, particularly against a single combatant. He also is skilled at parkour, and is a fast runner. Weaknesses: Over thinks situations, powers run out of control if angry, difficulty focusing on multiple problems at once, not quite the strongest (physically) Toa out there. Appearance: Zaak has white armor with orange highlights. Said armor is dented and nicked, but mostly in good repair. He is tall and lanky, without much visible muscle. His mask has an orange stripe down its middle, and his eyes are a deep blue. He stands with good posture, but slouches a bit when he sits. His mask, though it is a Rhode, is shaped like a Kualsi. History: Before joining the police force, Zaak ran a self-defense dojo. He taught the value of speed and precision over strength. However, he was cornered in a back alley by a gang someone trained by him in his dojo had crossed in a bad way. One pulled a gun, and quickly found himself and his gang flat on the ground with their target gone. He returned to his dojo, only to find it burned to the ground. In order to gain the means for legal revenge, he has joined the police force, intent on finding the gang who destroyed his livelihood. Since joining, he has quickly become one of the most effective officers in the force because he always, always tries to get the job done. Personality: Zaak is a very intelligent individual, but tries to hide it in order to fit in. He doesn't like to stand out, but that can’t be helped based on his job. He is one of the few police officers that actually cares about the small things. He constantly patrols, looking for anything he feels he should help with, be it a stolen wallet or a wounded civilian or stopping a robbery. He has been chastised several times for “wasting police hours”. Several times, he has replied, “try to stop me”. He hasn't been fired for this simply because his success rate is among the highest in the force. He mostly dislikes ranged combat in general, although he sees the necessity, and wishes that the citizens he swore to protect (there was no oath, so he made one up) will someday be able to walk in the light of day.
  19. I would be up for that as well. Here's my profile... Hehe... I just read the GM's profile... I wrote this profile when I first read this RPG, so I didn't copy it. So it looks like there will be two Toa of Plasma running around in the Police force.
  20. IC: Jake Jake was zoned out from the rest of the world as he quickly poured some water into the pot, and grabbed a small tin pan from his pack and set a camp burner on it. He activated the small natural gas container, and a small flame kindled, which he put the pot onto. He waited, grabbing oatmeal and three different tea packets while the others conversed. The water quickly heated, and he switched the pot on the stove for a couple of small Pokefood cans. He started the tea steeping, and opened the food cans with a can opener when they became warm. Jake then poured the water and oatmeal mix into his mess kit's bowl. "Guys, food's ready!" He called over from his small cooking area. He also tossed the various food cans to each of his Pokemon, who quickly chowed down. "I wasn't sure what type of tea you guys like, so I made peppermint, green, and lemon. For oatmeal, just pour some water into a bowl with it and wait." Jake grabbed a fork and absentmindedly mixed his oatmeal, watching with some amusement as Machop sampled the high-quality Pokefood. OOC: Assume that this was done during the conversation, otherwise it will look like Jake has speed-hacks.
  21. IC: Jake "Don't worry, we're almost at Oreburgh. I have enough food for a few shared meals." Jake noticed his hat flying through the air and shook his fist in mock anger at Pikachu, who caught it and ran over to hide behind Charmeleon. He turned back to his pack and rummaged through it some more. "Errr... Does tea sound good to everyone? I also have some oatmeal and dried apples I can cook up." He got out a small mess kit and some packs of instant oatmeal, grabbing a small pot for the oatmeal and a few mugs and tea packets.
  22. IC: Jake Jake slept right on through the 'explosion' of rock. Squirtle however... With a cry of panic, Squirtle ran over and jumped over the yawning girl and into the pond, sending water flying everywhere. This woke up Charmeleon, who glared at Squirtle for a few long moments (who had the grace to look sorry) before nudging his trainer. "I don't wanna go to school..." Jake mumbled, still half asleep. Charmeleon rolled his eyes and motioned to Pikachu. With an evil grin, Pikachu let loose a very low powered spark of electricity at Jake. Needless to say, he woke up. "Owowowow! Who did that?" Jake sat bolt upright in his sleeping bag and sent a small glare towards Pikachu, who grinned cheekily back (very cheekily; they were still sparking) before sighing and relaxing a bit. "Next time, can you guys be a little gentler with the wake up?" He got out of his sleeping bag (he slept in his clothes) and started rolling it up with one hand, while getting out a small box from his backpack. Jake asked the group, "Who wants breakfast? I think I can make something good. You know, to commemorate our first night as a group..." He trailed off, inspecting his food stores in his pack.
  23. IC: Jake Jake shrugged and tossed the sleeping mat in Jacob's general direction, then took off his vest and hung it from a small rock outcropping, along with his hat. "Good night guys," He said tiredly. Jake unrolled his sleeping bag, got in, and promptly fell asleep. Pikachu and Squirtle, who dried himself off, curled up right near him and fell asleep as well.
