  1. @NickonAquaMagna, thank you for your understanding. I'm just thinking of the newcomers in this situation. I would want them to enjoy Bionicle now the same way that we all did before, without getting bombarded by how the sets are "bad" or how the "story is too simple". I was originally going to outline my thoughts on the CCBS controversy, but now I think I will outline my thoughts on the Bionicle 2015 controversy as a whole. Also, @ToaSalvus, I encourage you to check out my imgur for some designs that I have made using CCBS, and check out some MOCs from other people while you're at it.
  2. I liked Brain Attack for several reasons. To start, Brain Attack was the first wave of Hero Factory sets I obtained. Second, I felt that the heroes were very well done in presentation and functionality, like they really were who they said they were: Heroes. Third, the colors added to the vast pallet Lego has were stunning to use, and made MOCing with them much more enjoyable.
  3. Yep, I got mine in NJ, at the Toys R Us near the Ikea and mall, but sorry, I got the last Kopaka. Maybe they'll restock! (Errrrr... taking Kopaka from me...) Lol jk, I will hopefully find them eventually. Also, how does it look to put Pohatu's shoulders up by one pinhole? The way it looks normally in photos is just jarring to me, so if someone can do this, cool; if not, I can do it myself when I get the set.
  4. Anyone know if NJ has the sets yet? I plan on getting them in the next week or two.
  5. Now this, I can't agree with. If someone has a criticism, it should not be silenced for the sake of preventing negativity. If someone has a rebuttal to that criticism, then they can voice it, but a criticism should be allowed to be voiced. It's all part of a healthy discourse. You can't force someone to like something just for the sake of positivity. I'm not saying that criticism isn't welcome (after all, criticism never hurts), but I've just been seeing negativity toward Bionicle 2015 in so many places. It just gets frustrating after seeing it for so long that I just needed to vent a little. When I was in grade school, it was frowned upon to even enjoy anything Bionicle had to offer, but I enjoyed every single sliver of content. It was my only real source of pleasure as a child, and I understand that my viewpoint grants me no right to put an end to the views of others. I just want the community to come together and say that they are happy with the return of the line and not rip it to shreds like they did with The Phantom Menace (and to put another nail in, that's my favorite Star Wars movie. Not saying it for spite, but honestly).
  6. I know I will probably get a lot of flak for this, but I think CCBS is a good system, and probably a better choice for future sets for several reasons: The parts are much more durable than before, and provide a good foundation for a model to be built. For up-and-coming MOC makers, the system helps ease a person into making MOCs and other customizations of at least some quality. Some backwards-compatibiliy with the old system. Lasting friction between joints. Being able to pose a figure without restrictions from armor and making figures somewhat anatomically proportionate (I'm looking at you, canister-sized Mata Nui...).I first used the system in LDD when the HF Recon Team was brand new. At that time, I didn't really like the system because I thought it limited any real design possibilities. This was just my misconception, as I was an LDD newbie back then and had no idea how to make models in the program function and pose properly. My first time to use the system physically came when I got a few of the early Brain Attack sets. After getting more CCBS sets, I fell in love with the system and how it made MOCing seem so easy. I was coming up with new designs in just a few minutes with CCBS, whereas a design using strictly Technics and Bionicle took me days, weeks, and even months to perfect. Now, all of my MOCs have at least some form of CCBS used, whether it is used for a single purpose or for multiple portions. Let me say this: To anyone who dislikes CCBS and has not used the system as of today, go try it out; it won't hurt, and you won't be let down if you do. Also, stop saying the sets look bad. AT LEAST THE SETS EXIST! I hate it when people get excited over something and then immediately complain about the negative aspects of it. I mean, what would newcomers to the Bionicle community think of all the negative comments being thrown around? If younger fans see only the negatives, they will be turned off and move on to something else, because no one wants to be a part of something that no one else gives any interest in.
  7. I read somewhere that a few books are planned to be released to further the story told in the online animations next year. I have heard nothing about any comic books for the new story ( ). I don't know who exactly is writing the books, but I know that person will not be Greg Farshtey. Speaking of Mr. Farshtey, he is currently working on the Lego Magazines as an editor (I think).
  8. I remember giving the canister-sized Mata Nui longer legs and using the Vahki-style limbs for the forearms. The tweaks just made the character look better, as well as create the feel that he is an extremely important character.
  9. I feel like it is too small to be the mask of ultimate power, but I still have yet to get any of the new sets, so I may be wrong. It looks a lot like an actual skull, so maybe it will just be the mask of a single villain on a team with other villains. Perhaps Makuta created these masks to contain elemental powers as a test before creating the mask of ultimate power. Another theory I have is that these masks could contain powers that do not correspond to an element, but to an ability. (I smell Rahkshi powers... *sniff*)
  10. I actually had a similar idea to this. My idea was that Rahkshi could naturally evolve sapience over time but only after Teridax died. Without any Makuta to guide them they would have to learn to adapt and think in order to survive. That said, don't expect anything advanced. Due to just emerging into sapience their society would still be very primitive and I doubt anyone would want to help them advance. If you all would indulge me, I'd like to theorize a little on this: - Rahkahi society would more accurately be called Kraata society, as it consists of a number of Shadow Kraata who have started gathering their less intelligent brethren and protecting them from the viciousness of the Matoran/Agori society, and the Hunters who want to reenslave them. - Lower level kraata are treated like children, with level 6 considered adults and allowed to pilot Rahkshi suits in defense of their colony. Shadow kraata are considered leaders, and only take the field in battles where their power is needed. - Lacking makuta, kraata now reproduce by binary fission, like amoeba. However, this leaves the resulting kraata a level lower, and thus the higher level kraata almost never do it. This creates a 'breeding class' of level 3&4 kraata. - Level 5&6 kraata and above who wish to wish to 'die' honorably volunteer to become a Rahkshi suit. The suit keeps the original Kraata's name. - Piloted rahkshi suits refer to themselves as 'X-in-Y' to honour both the pilot kraata (X) and the kraata who became the suit (Y). - Only the shadow kraaata manage to suppress their natural instincts and understand the society they're trying to build. Level 6 kraata can understand, level 5 realize, but lower levels indulge their instincts and powers too often to be considered 'functional members' by Matoran standards. - The Rahkshi society is aware of Miserix' survival, but refuse to reveal themselves to him for fear of getting enslaved again. The leaders also refuse to interact with any creature without wearing Rahkshi, bit this is still considered aggressive by other beings, hamstringing negotiations somewhat. - A common peaceful gesture (often misinterpreted) between Rahkshi is to put one's staff down, halving their power and putting them at a disadvantage in a fight. Thoughts? My idea for the Rahkshi society leader rooted from my idea that if you mutate a being to a certain point using Antidermis, they would eventually gain all of the Makuta powers that are separated by each form of kraata. I would like to think that a Rahkshi that was mutated to the point of being a Makuta would lead them, as their leader would be the most powerful Rahkshi, or in this case, the alpha. I can role with what you said about the Rahkshi hiding themselves from the true Makuta, as they would become enslaved again, but let me go more in-depth with what I have in mind for their leader: -The leader of the Rahkshi society would have all 42 Makuta/Kraata powers, including the abilities of Kaita dissolution and the Shadow Hand (which has to be one of the coolest powers imo ), but excluding the ability to create more Kraata. Basically, they would be a pseudo-Makuta. -The leader would have to be a strong leader, both physically and mentally. The Rahkshi are just starting to grow as a species, so the leader would not want to get their people into any pointless conflicts. They would have to be able to reason with the Matoran/Agori society to obtain peace for the Rahkshi. Also, a few quick questions: can a kraata theoretically "grow" into armor? And if that is the case, if the armor gets too small, can they get a new, bigger armor shell (like a hermit crab)?
  11. I like this, but I don't fully understand the progression process from Matoran to Toa to Turaga. In my head at the moment, it goes from being the shell of a former-but-now-deceased Av-Matoran, then to the shell of a Kraata, then back to a former-but-now-deceased Av-Matoran?
  12. My head canons include: The Rahkshi could become a sapient, individual species if given the chance, just like Matoran. This includes being able to communicate through speaking and written languages. In alternate universes, the gender ratio among Matoran variants are 50/50 (male/female). Not all Matoran of the same element have the same eye color. Antidermis can turn anyone into a Makuta as long as they are "destined" to become one, sort of like the effects of Energized Protodermis on certain beings.I'll see if I can think of more in the future, but in the meantime, have at my thoughts!
  13. I love the Kanoka disc launchers a lot, but I love the Thornax launchers even more because of their ability to at least be able to hold the ammo. Many of the uniform weapons had that flaw.
  14. I would love to see this theme return with a new treasure to find. It would be enjoyable to see something with the quality of Orient Expedition sets again.
  15. Thanks for the ok! The video will be a few weeks because of my hectic holiday schedule, but I will begin work on it as soon as the new year hits! The video is most likely going to be an episode of my ongoing series, the topic for which can be found here.
  16. This looks like an interesting project. May I call attention to it with a video on my youtube channel in the future? (I just wanted to ask for your permission before making a video.)
  17. Maybe the Toa will find the Mask of Time and use it to stop Makuta from creating the Mask of Ultimate Power in the first place. Even if time travel was not a power of the mask before, I don't see why it can't now with the full-on reboot.
  18. Tim Curry would make a great Makuta Teridax. Tim Curry can dance just like Teridax, too! (Taken from the "...oppose my will..." line. Just watch it again and it looks like Teridax is dancing!)
  19. Couldn't a Toa learn other Matoran abilities, as they have enough mental discipline to, say, use a Kanohi and an elemental power?
  20. I would say that some abilities could be learned, but not all Matoran abilities. If the Order of Mata Nui can use a mental shielding technique, that's okay with me, but learning takes some form of conditioning, as well. For example, a being could obtain the power of limited vision in dark places (from Onu-Matoran, as I recall) if they condition and train themselves for the task. Being able to hold your breath longer while underwater could be an ability that can be learned, also. However, abilities like the Po-Matoran strength are not abilities per say, but more like defining traits.
  21. Thank you so much Click!
  22. I'm speechless. Really I am. That is just so beautiful.
  23. I don't know if this has already been done or not, but: The Kanohi Dwar- The Mask of Misinterpretation This mask allows the user to turn off the mask powers of other beings in a nearby area. Any masks worn at a low level, such as the Rode, are negated instantly, whereas other masks that need to be activated for use require more energy to negate the effects of. Just think, what if a shapeshifter used this mask?
  24. Take your time. I'm in no rush to get it.
