  1. Fallout 4 hype!

I only saw a little bit of the presentation, but I love the new character customizer, I love the new graphics, I love the way VATS works, I love the idea that 1000 different names were recorded so people can say my character's name, I love starting pre-war, I love customizable stuff, I love Dogmeat the Fourth...

    HYPE!

The only bad things I can say are that the Vault elevator looks weird to me and the font they use for when you discover a new location looks squashed.

  2. GM IC:

A dusty and homely sort of Dunmer boy looked up at Eponine.

"Yes, what can I do for you today, Sera?"

'More outlanders around these days,' he thought to himself idly.

Still he presented a likely welcome pleasant face to the Breton.

IC Eponine [Narsis - General Store]

"I'm looking for three things. One; do you carry pen and paper? Two, is there a post office anywhere? Three; where's a good place to get information?"

  3. IC Eponine [Narsis - The Lucky Guar/General Store]

    Ah, I see.

    "Thanks. I'll catch you later."

Eponine looked up at the sky. She'd guess it'd be anywhere between 6 to 8 in the evening, and that meant she needed to hurry up her business.

Leaving the bar, she said "Goodbye" to Mathyn and Kelh, then proceeded to the nearest general store.

Entering, she waved to the clerk.

"Hey, know where I can get a pen and some paper?"

OOC: Anyone, feel free to potray the store clerk. Also, Chumpu, Eponine's gonna be looking for Bites-His-Tail in the near future, though she won't explicity know it's him until after they meet again. Just an FYI.

  4. IC Eponine [Narsis - The Lucky Guar]

"Eh, Captain, Mathyn... I hope you don't mind my interruption, but might you know a place that sells pen and paper?"

Clearly, ol'... whatever his name was... Rax, Lax, Trax, Kax... Something with an "ax..." Point is, he wasn't wasn't gonna be sending any messages any time soon.

  5. So, I've been wanting to write a GalCivII after-action report. It's like a let's play, but not really. Anyways, I was wondering a). where I could post it on BZP, and b). if I could post it in PDF dropbox-linked format, since I don't really like having to go through the hassle of uploading all those pictures.

  6. IC Eponine/DB Assassin [Narsis - The Lucky Guar]

Eponine saw the Assassin charging, and merely stuck out her leg to trip him.

    CRASH!

"Ah, geez. Now look what you've done."

Eponine, flipped the now in-pain assassin over on his back, kneeled over him (thus pinning him to the ground) and readied her kopis.

"Heh, heh... You don't scare me..."

"You haven't been paying much attention, have you?"

"You betrayed the Brotherhood, then you ran off to the one place we can't get a foothold. I think you're the one who's scared."

"Not scared. Tired. I want you to give your boss a little message. Tell him that if he wants me, he'll have to come and get me."

Eponine took the assassin's kopis and dagger from him, then got him to his feet.

    "You'll regret this."

    "I know."

The assassin ran out the door. Sadly, he ran out the door in the direction of the guard.

Eponine handed Mathyn the two weapons the assassin used. "Here. I don't really want them. One's too... daggery and the other one's too redundant. Well, that, and the fact that I already have one."

  7. And while we're still on the subject of games that are too easy....

Hyrule Warriors is apparently getting a 3DS port. Kinda surprised, since it's still pretty new on the Wii U, however, Zelda ports seem to be the big thing on it now.

    *sniff* I think I smell a cashgrab...

  8. I can't speak for anyone else here, but frankly, I'd find it kind of annoying if one of my characters were in an epic naval battle, only for it to be interrupted by a permanently drunk pirate running around and screaming "I have a jar of dirt" for absolutely no reason at all.

And, of course, I'll be the one playing that pirate yelling "I've got a jar of dirt!"

  9. OOC: The following post has been declared "non-canon" and as such should not be read except for the fact that it's kinda funny and I hope the GMs consider using it, especially considering the canon lore that Dunmer in Morrowind tend to speak Dunmeris.

IC Guard [Narsis - The Lucky Guar]

    Kelh had worded his sentence rather well. Sadly, this;

was all the guard could hear.

"What in the name of Azura are you blabbering on about?" the guard said, in a local dialect of Dunmeris.

And here is the DB Assassin/Eponine post. Took a while, sorry Albannach.

IC Eponine/DB Assassin [Narsis - The Lucky Guar]

Oh, great. Two of them. I better be getting paid good tonight.

"Come on, Eppy! Can't even fight your own battles?!"

"Shut up, you son of a skeever."

    "Ouch, burn."

The assassin took one good look at Mathyn, just to assess the situation. Mathyn didn't look like much, but if the Dunmer in the Brotherhood had anything to prove, it was that looks can be deceiving. That malachite longsword looked pretty flashy, though. A steel kopis was rather... insufficient.

Still, he had a job to do. He charged at Mathyn, first appearing to be heading to Mathyn's right, but hoping to catch Mathyn off-guard by juke-moving to Mathyn's left, and hopefully hitting him on Mathyn's left arm.

  10. deathclaws are easy to kill in fallout 3. different story in new vegas, but even then it's just compound as many healing items as you can. cazadors are also easy to kill, once you cripple a wing they move slower than you. i didn't play half life. in fallout 1 and 2 since its turn based it's also a totally different beast than dark souls which is why i don't think they're fair comparisons since dark souls makes you think on your feet and it's more reaction based. i also don't remember any reason why resistance would included in this conversation but maybe you could remind me.

i'm just trying to figure out your point of view. like, say something compelling

Exactly why I didn't include FO3 on the list; it's too easy.

NV deathclaws were hard. Just because you have healing items doesn't make a game easy. If that was the case, any game with healing items would be easy as all ######. Stimpaks are hard to find (at least in my experience) and on hardcore, they don't heal instantly. Cazadors are deathclaw-lite. They're fast and annoying, and yes, I tried taking out the wings. It never, ever, ever worked for me. I don't what it was, but it never worked for me. At all.

Resistance was basically "Halo + CoD except better." It was a genuinely hard game (at least on hard) and was pretty much the antithesis to the standard "shoot stuff" game.

  11. thats what im saying you dont have any evidence LOL

I... I have never facepalmed harder in my life.

I gave you evidence. I listed various games that do the whole "pay-attention-or-die" much, much better than Dark Souls, and your entire argument is "no they aren't?"

Have you ever, in any Fallout game sans 3 fought a Deathclaw/Cazador? The amount of planning that goes into fighting one of those things is simply astounishing. Have you ever had to fight the Nihilanth in Half-Life? If you don't make sure you follow his pattern to the letter you will die.

Do you have a counter-argument that isn't "that doesn't count?"

  12. @Archer; I... I give up... You seem so dead set on denying evidence that's right in front of your face... I give up.

@Ghoti; The castle in the story looks similar (and are the only two castles in the Mario universe to share such a design, if I'm not mistaken) there are very few humans in the Mario universe (Mario, Luigi, E. Gadd, Peach, Daisy, Rosalina, Jumpman (yes, I count him as a seperate person even before the GT episode) and Pauline), therefore your argument about how infinite the universe is is irrelevant (especially since the odds of any alien life looking even remotely human are (pardon the pun) astronomical) and even in stories where children are brought by storks, they'll still resemble their parents.

Plus, while we do know the reproductive cycle of humans, do we know how it works for Koopas? In the main series of Mario games (I.E. the platformers) I think we see a grand total of 1 female Koopa, and she looked very similar to a male Koopa. For all we know, Koopas are like the dwarves from Once Upon A Time, where they grow eggs that hatch into dwarves.

    Also, from the Mario wiki;

Rosalina was actually born in the Mushroom Kingdom, and that is where she was raised as a child.

Unless the current regime is the result of an old one being overthrown after Rosalina grew up, the only occupants of the only castle that looks like the one in the storybook in the Mushroom Kingdom were, for lack of a better term, the Toadstool Dynasty. This means that somewhere, Rosalina and Peach share a family tree.
