  1. Look. I know you are all going to mash away at your keyboards talking about Makuta, but I don't want him to be the front and centre villain just yet. This would probably build up the hype for his inevitable set, and that's another thing this new line should do. Establish a good rogues gallery. I really don't want to see our heroes fight Makuta each year, I want something fresh! I want to see a threat that strips them to their bare essence, a threat that tests their will and strength, a threat that is formidable enough to stand in their way. Sure, Makuta can do this all simultaneously, but I want to see something new. I personally think that the new threat should be villains (swarms or separate characters, you choose) that also have elemental powers. This would challenge the Toa not to just rely on themselves and their powers, but each other and the world around them. This was effective when the original Toa had to hold off the Bohrok swarms. One example of this was when Kopaka, Pohatu and Gali had to work together to eliminate a swarm of Tahnok. They accomplished this by flooding a large hole full of the creatures. This is the kind of challenge I want to see, but of course, don't make it a discount Bohrok storyline.
  2. Wait, Makuta is the Mask Hoarder? The Skull Spiders seem like a more appropriate choice to me, but okay.
  3. I'm not going to be online for about ten days.

  4. $25 each? Wowzers. Well, you managed to keep it in the box for 11 years, so good job. I won't argue. Do you have any other pre-2006 sets? Not in the box or anything, thank you.
  5. Yeah, explaining it is a bit of a toughie. First of all, the immense shock of the Great Spirit Robot falling onto Aqua Magna cracked the area around the Southern Continent, so the rest of the shock caused it to rocket upwards. The island also wasn't always shaped like a crescent, as Mahri Nui was once an area of Voya Nui that soon broke off. Yes, many Matoran did die. This was even the cause of Turaga Jovan's death. The Southern Continent was once a massive society, so a small percentage would have survived, thus they are the Voya/Mahri Nui population. I don't know about the massive waterfall in the Southern Continent, but it actually wasn't that massive. If you look at the panels before Matoro enters Karda Nui, you'll see the waterfall is a rather small cavity in the ocean floor. Most of this was patched up by Mahri Nui. And if you look at Karda Nui, the waterfall is actually quite small. Also, Karda Nui wouldn't be flooded in days, not even a thousand years. This is mainly because it actually took a very long time for Matoro to eventually fall into the Swamp of Secrets via the waterfall. Karda Nui is humongous, and it probably took Matoro five minutes or so to reach the ground.
  6. Alrighty then. I will be willing to take Ogrum, as I'd like to have a set for each Hero Factory wave. I currently don't have one for Brain Attack though. What do you propose for the Ogrum set?
  7. I'll probably get them in this order: Onua, Protector of Earth, Kopaka, Protector of Ice - $60 Tahu, Protector of Fire, Lewa, Protector of Jungle - $55 Gali, Protector of Water, Pohatu, Protector of Stone, Lord of Skull Spiders - $65
  8. The metal Krana? You mean the Krana-Kal? The Krana-Kal are a completely different thing. Even if you wanted to get the metal Krana, they are ultra rare. There were only 5,000 white metal Krana-Kal in the world, and I kid you not, 72 sterling silver Krana-Kal. You have to be really hardcore to get a sterling silver one.
  9. My advice: Try and get some 2002 sets from a neighbour, or friend of yours. They will probably have a pretty extensive Krana collection even if they only bought the Bohrok and Bohrok-Va. It would be much cheaper to get than buying a measly one red Krana Ca for three dollars on eBay. If you are buying online, buy in bulk. There are 96 different Krana to collect, so try and save time and money buy buying a bunch of them. You will get much more variety. Reach out to as many sellers as possible. It is quite unlikely that someone you know has all 96 Krana, so you'll have to look to someone else if they don't have the purple Krana you might want. With the large variation of people, there's a much better chance of getting different Krana. Get one of those Krana charts. You can find it online, and it's basically a checklist categorising colour and power.
  10. I was going to just say Roodaka, but might as well put Sidorak forward too. He was, after all, a villain. Oh. Ermmmm... That's a shame, because both Karzahni and The Shadowed One are some of my favourites. I'll add them in ASAP. Your wish is my command. Also added The Shadowed One.
  11. It's gotta be Lhikan and Kikanalo. It's a close one to Takanuva (with Ussanui) and Maxilos and Spinax. Toa Lhikan is without a doubt one of the best characters in the Bionicle mythos, and he gets the Toa Metru treatment. Fantastic. Not only that, but he comes with a Kikanalo beast, which is a great Rahi design. That's a good excuse for a thirty dollar Titan.
  12. So, some of you might be slamming away at your keyboard talking about Teridax, but this poll list is talking about those other antagonists. Y'know, like the Bahrag and the Piraka. Take your vote on this list of the best Bionicle villains that weren't Makuta Teridax.
  13. I am the MASTAHH OF STAEUHN!

  14. When the newest story and promotional videos had hit the web, keen eyes had spotted some cheeky Vahi easter eggs. Not only that, but one of the main temples, the Kini-Nui of Okoto, if you will, is called the Temple of Time. Surely this isn't all audience pandering, because I think that time is going to be a major thing in this new line. Sure, the Mask of Time easter eggs may just be some fan service, but the Temple of Time is surely hard evidence. I mean, come on, there's a pendulum in the temple. Perhaps when the Protectors combine their powers, they can have control over time. My theory is that the Protectors and the Toa encounter a dangerous threat when the Lord of Skull Spiders finally gets his hands on the Mask of Creation, or even the Mask of Ultimate Power, the only way the forces of Okoto can stop them is by using the very powers of the unity of the Protectors - time. They could manage to harness the Time energy and put it into a physical form, but they do not have the skill to craft such energy into something like a mask, hence the Vahi easter eggs. But of course, Ekimu could craft a Mask of Time. This leads the Toa to eventually find Ekimu's forge, and with their powers, they manage to wake up Ekimu and Makuta, and they form an alliance with him in order to craft the Mask of Time. So, Ekimu does make a Mask of Time and the Toa defeat the Lord of Skull Spiders, retrieving the Mask of Creation. But in my established story, waking up Ekimu wakes up Makuta, and vice versa. After this, Makuta realises his goal, and plots to take over Okoto a second time. Carrying guilt for causing Makuta's release, the Toa unite once more, now with Ekimu's help, to defeat the rogue Maskmaker. Note: If this counts as a potential spoiler, well, excuuuse me. This is just guesswork here.
  15. You mean the one where superpowed half-robots fought animals with treads as hind legs, creepy smiley spikey guys with glowing eyes, and it turned out that it all happened inside a giant robot? I'd have to agree. The Rahi having treads as hind legs is really weird. And kinda lazy when you think about it. Instead of making four legs, they cheaped out with the two front legs and treads. The strangest have got to be the Tarakava. Apparently they're supposed to be based off of real animals, but I just don't see it in them. The other ones are quite clear. The Muaka is a bear, the Kane-Ra is a bull, the Manas are crabs, the Nui-Rama are dragonflies, and the Nui-Jaga are scorpions. What is up with the Tarakava??
  16. I live in Australia, so I might not be able to get these new sets as soon as you Americans do. But my nearest Toys R' Us has received quite a few LEGO shipments, so I'll be looking out. If it's not there before January, I'll just pick up an Ultra Agents set or something.
  17. Careful. I understand some people on here aren't fans of those. Anyway, I think it's kinda hard to say at this point. We haven't even gotten a chance to fully dive into this new world of BIONICLE. Seeing as we know little about the world and its inhabitants, I can't say for sure what I'd want to see in a polybag. We have just one wave of sets to go off of at this point. For example, with HF, a cool polybag (I think) would have contained Zib or Quadal, characters introduced in the TV series after the official launch of the theme. Zib or Quadal polybag? I would have loved one of those. I recently watched some episodes of the Hero Factory show, and I was really starting to like Zib.
  18. I'm interested and know a lot about the story, but I don't own an insane amount of sets. If there is one supreme fanboy who can list the Rahkshi powers off by heart and owns every single set, it's not me.
  19. I only use standard television, and I don't have cable or anything. I don't watch TV much anyway. There's a low chance it'll be on any other channels, but there's still a chance, so I'll look out for it.
  20. Well, I kinda agree with you. This new line seems to be a bit more lighthearted, and that's great. The 2001 story was too... kinda. I don't mind if there's a bit of comedy in there, quite honestly. Just at the very least make the Lord of Skull Spiders a good villain.
  21. That's a brilliant idea. I would LOVE to have some original/new mask designs that aren't the toas' or the protectors'. Maybe Lego could use some designs from fans from a contest? Oh, yes. Certainly. If not, they seem to be doing fine with the mask designs that are both new and pay homage to the original. They should make masks similar to the original Turaga masks now. That ruins it in my opinion. The great thing about collectibles is the unpredictability. You wouldn't have as much joy if you got a set with the Vahi in it than a set in which there is a 0.001% chance of getting it.
  22. It's the eyes, man. It's the eyes. The little rounded mask also seems to make cheeks, so that's adorable. HE'S JUST SO CUTE! Oh no. Is this going to be a new fad?
  23. Through Bionicle's decade-long run, we received four movies, each covering most of their respective years. But there were some years with such great potential that should have gotten a movie adaptation. Now, which year would be the most worthy for a film?
  24. That's amazing. X-Ray Vision is a kinda weird trait for a Skull Spider though...
