  1. IC: Cobra Shard - Antropolis Docks The other Heroes didn't answer him, but to be fair: Shard didn't really care what they said in the first place. He was going to beat up these monsters whether they liked it or not. With a few well-placed acrobatic leaps, Shard went flying through the air, bouncing off of boats, skiffs, yachts, and anything else that came under him. The experience was not entirely unlike his ride here... The rookie made a solid impact with the boat full of monsters and aimed a round-house kick at the nearest one.
  2. IC: Cobra Shard - Antropolis The rookie gingerly pulled his battered form out of the pod and plopped into the water near the docks. He shot a glare at the evil evil pilot who had flown him here as the rest of the dropship set smoothly down on a landing pad a short distance away. Shard had been jounced and shaken all the way from Makuhero city. He could see why those ships were discontinued now... Gritting his teeth, he swam up to the nearest dock and pulled himself up. A quick observation would reveal a boat being fought over by a pair of Heroes and around 4 or 5... monsters? He probably should've read the mission report more carefully. "Hey guys! Need any help over there?" OOC: Shard and Drift open for interaction at the docks
  3. This is good formula, me thinks. You could apply this set-up to almost anything and I'd play it. I'll be looking out for more of these in the future.
  4. IC: Alex Drift - Hero Factory Hangar Drift decided not to go for the dropship after all. He'd just flown that piece of junk. What he needed was something with a little more... style. The pilot beckoned Shard over to a Hero pod and told him, "Okay kid, climb in here, tell me where you're going, and I'll get you there in no time." Drift grinned and evil grin to himself. This was going to be fun. IC: Cobra Shard - Hero Factory Hangar "Thanks, man!" Shard swung himself into the canister and lit up the inside. The hatch popped closed behind him and he felt the pod being lifted into some sort of holder. What the rookie didn't realize was that he had just been pulled into... *cue psycho music*... A 1.0 attack dropship. Shard was in for a bumpy ride...
  5. OOC: That's kind of what I figured. IC: Cobra Shard - Hero Factory Hangar This was it. This was the day he'd been waiting for. His first true mission! Shard checked his coolant levels and quaza charge for the 174th time. Still full on both. A pilot strode into the hangar and gave one of the maintenance men a nod. This was his chance! He'd just hitch a ride with this guy and be in Antropolis in no time! IC: Alex Drift - Hero Factory Mission Control "Monsters AND a chance of 'splosions? You just made my day, Zib." Drift pulled a goofy-looking salute and marched back to the hangar. The maintenance man had just pulled away from refueling his dropship and tuning the instruments. Drift gave him a nod and turned to his ship of choice: "The Mantis", a heavily customized assault speeder. It was a sight to behold, sleek lines and powerful guns flowing into- What?! Was that a Hero hailing him? "Hey! Hey you! I need a lift!" Great. A rookie looking for a ride. Drift reluctantly moved back towards the dropship, looking back wistfully at the Mantis. "Next time," he muttered. "Next time."
  6. OOC: While I wait for a response from Zib, I'll put up a new Hero since Echo isn't long for this world *ahem* RPG. Hero Profile: Name: Cobra Shard Powers and Abilities: Shard is built with thermal-adaptive armor. This provides him extreme resistance to cold temperatures as well as moderate resistance to hot temperatures. This will not prevent any injury sustained from lasers/plasma, but might lessen the damage from an explosion slightly. His frame is built for agility rather than sheer speed or power. This gives him enhanced reflexes and dodging. Weapon(s): Shard's only form of offense is his powerful Splinter Cannon, which replaces his left arm. The cannon has two primary firing modes: Long range mode fires spikes of concentrated ice which can cause severe puncture damage. A scope helps Shard aim accurately over larger distances. The secondary firing mode is for close-range/utility purposes. It channels coolant from a large tank on his back which super-cools the air to create ice structures or crystallize opponents in a powerful freeze ray (this power cannot insta-freeze other players). Shard's coolant tank can recharge very very slowly from absorbing moisture in the air. Appearance: Shard is lean and wears pristine white armor plating with sections of dark blue. A large tank of coolant is mounted on his back and is armored enough to prevent most attacks from damaging it. Shard wears medium-light armor, giving him less defense than standard Heroes like Furno but more than lightly armored units like Echo. His helmet is an insect-like mask with antennae mounted on either side to give him long range communications. A smooth blue visor protects him from snowstorms and wind. His entire left arm has been replaced with the Splinter Cannon. Personality: Shard is a generally fast-paced kind of guy. "Shoot first ask questions later" is his motto, and he's very trigger happy... try to steer clear of him after he's had a rigorous session in the training spheres. Shard is very objectives-based and will sometimes be rude to teammates that he feels are holding the mission back, although most of the time he's friendly. He enjoys examining other people's gear and then telling them how "cool" his gun is even if their weapon is way better. Shard looks up to Surge and Furno as his role-models. Bio: Shard is a rookie Hero, created just recently. He has been on approximately three missions before (training runs not included) and they were all pretty tame. He's finally been granted permission to go on high-priority missions and he can't wait to get a real assignment at last. Weaknesses: (no meta-gaming with these, peoples) An extremely strong attack can puncture his coolant tank and prevent him from using his freeze ray (limiting him to infrequent uses of his ice spikes). Alternatively, a powerful attack could potentially sever the connection from his tank to his cannon. If he isn't careful, Shard can easily run out of coolant naturally as well.
  7. OOC: Surprise attacks from Heroes... never heard of that one before. And how are you going to outlast a guy who can basically control the universe? I'd give him a more concrete weakness, like cold temperatures or something.
  8. I'll go for 1. Korgot, Protector of Earth 2. Izotor, Protector of Ice 3. Tahu, Master of FYAH!!!
  9. OOC: Time-skip is fine with me, but I'm heading back to the Factory right now anyway. Anyone left on Tranquis VII can come home in Drift's ship with me if they want. IC: Echo - Hero Factory Echo climbed out of the dropship and bid Drift farewell. It had been a long day... He still couldn't believe that concussion shot at the end there had been so effective. Next fight he got into, he'd remember to tune his powerful audio-receptors down a notch so he wouldn't be driven into berserk rage. They had been on way too high. After a refreshing recharge and a quick stop at the armory to repair any damages sustained in the field, Echo was ready for his next assignment. That was, until a massive gunmetal and gold Hero intercepted him in the hallway and handed him a small sheet of paperwork. "You're wanted in briefing room 773A right now, soldier." Was this... a squad recruitment form? IC: Alex Drift - Hero Factory Drift needed a new mission. Something with stuff blowing up and maybe some monsters. On his way to the recharge room, he yelled at the maintenance guy to refuel the dropship. Once recharged and armed with some of his favorite impact grenades, Drift headed to mission control and demanded "Alright, Zib. No more extraction jobs. I told you I wanted something fun. There's gotta be some monsters and stuff blowing up somewhere in the galaxy right now. Wherever that is, I wanna be there." OOC: Echo's post is mostly just there to show that he's not in the Antropolis mission. He is currently being recruited to Sigma Team. The Hero who stopped him is Justin Hammer, the team's demolitions expert. I figure Echo may have one or two missions left in this RPG before he moves on and I start writing his adventures with the team on their own.
  10. IC: Alex Drift - Extraction spot What was keeping Echo? He sent the transmission again.
  11. OOC: Also waiting on Scorp. Next chance I get, I'm pulling Echo out of the fight.
  12. OOC: Is there any way I could manage to back Echo out of the Grand Tranq fight at this stage? This battle has both my Heroes tied up right now.
  13. OOC: Aha! Found it! Observe the "quaza energy" at 1:10. I'm not sure if the video is canon or not, but clearly the concept of quaza energy is part of the universe.
  14. OOC: I never said "liquid". I said "energy-form". Going with your interpretation of the quaza cores as batteries, the substance I'm envisioning is like the electricity generated by the battery. Hero cores don't use electricity, they use quaza energy, which is what Marrow can absorb. Your point still stands though, so I'll suppose Marrow will just sort of crunch up any quaza he gets a hold of.
  15. OOC: To Fishers' question: No, Marrow can not fly. It has slightly higher than average jumping and climbing capabilities to make up for it though. I'll edit that into the profile. To ZippyWhargarrbl's question: I always got the impression that the Hero cores distributed some sort of energized form of quaza throughout the system. Marrow can absorb this energy as well as crush the actual crystal material to powder. Sort of like how Chi had a liquid form and a crystal form... Update: I changed the profile to say "devours quaza" instead, just to be more clear.
  16. Villain Profile incoming: Name: Marrow Powers and Abilities: Marrow has no powers other than the ability to"smell" quaza, but is extremely fast and brutal, rending through metal and shredding wires with ease. If possible, it always begins a fight with an aerial attack (it can't fly, but uses its exceptional leap and climbing capabilities to get the drop on its opponents). It's also extremely good at hiding in the shadows. Weapon(s): Marrow is covered head to toe in razor sharp spikes. Its main form of offense is the particularly long pair that emerges from the ends of its arms in place of hands. Appearance: Marrow is hunched and bird-like in appearance. Vicious spikes sprout from every angle of its twisted form and its arms are unnaturally long and end in jagged blades. It is colored red and black. Bio: Marrow is something of an enigma. No one is sure where it came from... or how it became so violent. It is driven by a perpetual bloodlust and an insatiable hunger. It feeds on metal and devours quaza, which it can “smell”, giving it a way to track down Heroes. And when Marrow takes down a Hero, they usually don't get back up. After Marrow was finally captured, it was put in maximum security to rot. But then the Breakout happened... and Marrow disappeared. Location: Unknown And here is a picture for you to "feast" your eyes upon: More in the LEGO Gallery for anyone interested. *Marrow may or may not be on the next mission. Just wanted to get the profile up.
  17. IC: Alex Drift - Tranquis VII extraction point This was not Drift's day. First: boring extraction job. Second: having to fly citizens back and forth all day when his buddy was out punching people with a crazy buzz-saw-arm-thing. Third: his cockpit had somehow picked up the smell of burnt rubber from Tranquis VII. Hadn't he asked Zib for the exciting missions? Oh well. Drift touched down on the extraction point and signaled the other ships to do likewise. Once down, he opened the doors and yelled through the intercom, "Alright everybody! We're home! Please exit the craft in an orderly fashion and have a nice day. Next time those brains come pickin' around, just give us a call." And with the last of them gone, he was onto the fourth sour spot of his day: having to wait for Echo. Drift was too tired to call the other Hero up, so he just sent an "Extract" objective to Echo's HUD and sat back to rest. He really needed a recharge... IC: Echo - Grand Tranq battle Echo got the message, but was too busy slashing at the black beast to care. He did, however, relay the transmission to Riot and Stryker.
  18. OOC: Mission #2! Yay! Echo's gonna finish up this fight and then head back to HQ. Drift is going solo for Mission #2. Is it okay if I have him ferry all the other Heroes in on a submersible if the target is underwater? I'll also have a villain profile up in a bit. It may or may not make an appearance in the next mission. I'll need more details before I decide...
  19. I spotted a problem right away: Echo and Alex Drift aren't here.
  20. OOC: An evacuation makes perfect sense. Just the brain infestation would have put temporary citizen removal on the list of possibilities. They wouldn't have been moved off planet if it was just brains, but after figuring out about Project Sunstorm from Abacus, protocol would dictate that Zib order an evacuation until everyone was certain the planet wasn't going to explode. At least, that's how I see it.
  21. Silliest depiction of me I've ever seen, Fishers. I actually expected Pulse to win (if we got the Jungle Bog in the first place). I challenge Pumpress Semira!
  22. I know how that feels. I've got Echo's entire team all planned out (in fact I ordered the parts to build all five figures off Bricklink earlier today), but the leader is named "Brad Bolt". Bolt is already taken so... Can't really use the team.
