  1. Thanks for extending this contest. I've been working on another project, so only now had a chance to finish my entry.
  2. That arcade looks really nice, as do almost all the proposed modular builds. The detail is really stunning.
  3. The asymmetry really fits this theme, which I recall being very busy and unfinished looking. Always smile when I see Pohatu's Kaukau being used! Is a Futuron MOC on the way?
  4. The design video on this model was really interesting. I only wish this model came out closer to when the movie did, and maybe could have solidified interest in a sequel.
  5. I, too, have always been a great fan of M:Tron, and think your MOC fits the color scheme well. Nice use of the Nynrah Ghost Blaster, too.
  6. Great review! I agree on every one of your points. I, too, think licensing fees may have driven his price up. I wonder if more popular character-inspired toys need to surrender a greater fee?
  7. I can't help but think that some of this is related to the decrease in Star Wars toys in general. True, physical toys' demand may be dropping across the board, but for what was once Lego's number 2 most popular theme at a time, there has to be some correlation. BIONICLE saved Lego in the early 2000s partly because it was home-grown. Hopefully Lego can introduce something akin to BIONICLE or Ninjago in the near future.
  8. I must admit, seeing Hulk with a juvenile face and a six-pack is slightly off-putting.
  9. Spectacular use of parts! Everything melds together perfectly and despite the variety of parts, doesn't look too busy. Your Matatu looks a little yellowed; have you tried the hydrogen-peroxide solution to whiten it? It worked on my Misprint white Ruru with no adverse effects.
  10. I wonder if Disney is charging higher licensing fees, or if Lego really thinks these are the most logical prices.
  11. They did a great job on his head! What I like about this set is the possibility for MOCs of his Clone Wars form.
  12. I seem to recall many of the Jurassic World sets sitting on shelves for a LONG time, despite it being a box-office champ. I hope Lego has realistic sales expectations for this film, as some of their licensed themes have not sold well, especially if the film itself flounders. As for the requested dino? I'm just hoping for something new.
  13. These look pretty good, if a little repetitive. I just have one question:why the orange display stands? I can see no logic behind this choice.
  14. Aside from Lego, I've always had a great interest in model trains and cars, so maybe some of that?
  15. I will never tire of reading early Bionicle lore pieces. The scope, mystery, and promise that team was able to establish so early on is always astounding to me, especially because it was so out of the ordinary status quo for Lego at the time.
  16. Obviously, BIONICLE is among my favorite LEGO memories, especially the early years, but specifically related to this post, my uncle gave me some of his old LEGO, including some of the very first bricks. They're dirty and certainly not as white as they once were, but the fact that they still fit with my other sets was always very special to me. I've always like the sense that it's a toy that crosses generations of fans.
  17. Fantastic work! Mars Mission has always been among my favorite space themes, and it never fails to catch my attention when someone uses those distinctive alien sticker pieces. Bravo!
  18. These are always incredible. Cap's uniform is exceptionally well done here, it makes me hopeful they'll do more. I think a Vision one would be spectacular.
  19. Thanks, guys! K2SO is the one I've been trying to get for a while, so this is greatly appreciated.
  20. Nope, comes from an Exo-Force wave 2 set. Ah! Good call! I feel like a complete idiot; my brother owns that set! It was one with the green-haired-guy, as I recall. I wish Ninjago or Chima, or even the Nexo Knights would have continued the trend of uniquely colored BIONICLE parts in a larger quantity.
  21. A little late to the party, but man, FANTASTIC job!! It's so cohesive and aesthetically pleasing. It looks menacing, yet oddly beautiful in an artistic way. i can't recall, is that Takanuva/Makuta blade from a BIONICLE set?
  22. I can't see how robotic-looking Metru feet (pistons and all) would look better. The 2.0 Hero Feet may arguably be due for a replacement, but at least they're solid enough to convey the idea of actual clothing (particularly with the gaps near the ball cup filled in, as they are on most of the Star Wars figures). I think you're absolutely correct about the Metru feet, as it would look remarkably out of place. I just can't shake the feeling that the reason that the 2.0 Hero feet fit the clothing aesthetic is because that's all we've seen thus far used in this regard.
  23. Thanks for the great review! Very concise, and straight to the point, it was. I still feel that Lego needs to either re-introduce feet molds, or create new ones, because the Hero 2.0 feet look awkward on her. Would Metru feet look more appropriate, do you think?
  24. Fantastic job! I think it's great how seamlessly you integrated Throwbots and CCBS elements together. Bravo!
  25. This is incredible! It looks very detailed without being too busy, which is a hard balance to find at times. The spine is particularly impressive.
