  1. I'd say same as above, in fact the foundation of my collection was a big garbage bag full of Inika era stuff, from a Hospice Shop. Also, School Fairs, if that is a thing elsewhere. Also, sometimes countries have "local" sites so-to-say, you're only competing with bidders in your country for the most part which is handy.
  2. TTV is not affiliated with Lego and is a fan group. Duckbricks is just another Lego YouTuber and Greg is no longer employed by Lego. I really do mean no offence, but how would any of those parties' involvement make it more official? I don't think a "G3" really needs the title "G3," let alone to be dubbed official, just embrace a project for being what it is, a fan project and then maybe fan groups can promote it as a fan thing. The idea of a whole toy line, based off of TLG's design is reminding me of Tributron's project...which does kind of dance the line of copyright infringement from my understanding.
  3. Oh, I just realised you probably meant "recent." Anyways, the meme topic was started by HeyZorks, it is visible on the first page of Bionicle Discussion:
  4. A method of collecting double ups to build an army. For example, Star Wars fans may collect several lots of clones or stormtrooper battle packs and vehicles to build an army. Or a Bionicle fan may collect many Bohrok etc. to make a "hive." That is why many companies make up "generic henchman/goodie" as there is the hope that people will collect multiple to replicate favourite moments or the mass aesthetic seen in that piece of media. However, it is not everyone's cup of tea. Especially if space is at a premium! Frankly I don't think that is possible, without a sacrifice in quality or "detail" as confusedpiraka said. I am pretty sure the beloved Toa Mata were 10 dollars back in the day, at least in my area. Lego always has been an expensive toy. Also, in regards to the topic question, yes, I think kids could be interested, there is always a way to spin it. The key notes and theming are timeless in my opinion, it is more a matter of getting seen in the sea of products competing for children's attention these days. (Insert old man grumble about those darn video games)
  5. what do you mean by "reagent" do you mean to say "relevant?" I'm pretty sure there is a dedicated topic for Bionicle memes if that is what you are wanting to post.
  6. Kazi. Especially when compared with what you get in the other Voya Nui Matoran sets. The Bohrok eyes on the chest and lack of skull are really awkward.
  7. Roblox: ride a cart around a 75-kilowatt diesel generator. Roblox has changed too much for me and has been boring for a long time, but this game captured the janky charm of old Roblox and provided some chuckles. I'd be happy if it were the last time I ever play Roblox-leaving things on a high note and all that.
  8. Whilst not a mask or such, I got a 2005 Hordika Store banner for a good price. I did not think it through very well however as it is the size of my bed and I have no wall space for it lol...so it stays in its tube for now. But I am definitely looking forward to displaying at a Convention or something. Oh, and speaking of masks I did get in my order on Socketball's latest mask batch but those don't' really count as rare because they're just a fan reprint really, still purple kaukaus are sick!
  9. This aged like milk: Postmortem: After signing up as an Auditor to do damage control during the Hagah, when the contests ended prematurely my first thought was something like: "The mission, the nightmares, they're finally over." It was stressful, thankless work and I know the TTV Cast felt the same. There was a feeling of "we're doing this for you" but when watching and hearing the broad community, little feeling anyone really did want it. There was going to be a revote on whether they should continue, (I think people forgot that after the news about Greggory) so at least the community was being heard and the contests likely would have wrapped up anyway after Tuyet I believe. I think it didn't have to end this way; I would have liked to have seen how the next contest would have gone, with our better review system. (The Auditor Team were people who actually weren't absent for months at a time and could take criticism on board, so I believe we may have had chance to improve things but who knows.) But that is the way the cookie crumbles. While I still disagree on some points, overall, I think my feelings have mellowed and I would say yes, the contests should have never happened, not like how they did anyway. I've been getting back in touch with my "Lego System" roots and more into Moc making again, because creating makes me happy. I think fun is important and I didn't see that during the contests. Lego and Bionicle is a Hobby, hobbies are escapism and relaxation from life's matters, so why make the hobby full of arguing, gatekeeping or winners and losers, that isn't a break, that's an extra burden! So, I see that clearly now and I do what makes me happy, building, not really thinking about canon in any way, just whatever ideas I like, with no fear of stepping on another's head-canon. (In response to my quote of you, Inika) I can strongly agree with that (The quoted statement) now and any contest would ideally be such, revisiting old characters never was ideal. That's why I'm happy the Fanon Contests are mixing in some stuff like the Bota Magna Dinos or this coming Red-Star one, it's essentially new territory for the story and people less likely have strong feelings about those background things. The Fanon Contests are certainly more fun, and I look forward to them continuing, the prizes are way better than a jpeg on BS01 and the broad range of characters and even Rahi makes it much more approachable, the "low-stakes" makes the environment more friendly and overall fosters a better fandom. There is a lot of cool stuff, fan projects etc. out there, with no "canon" on the line and that is great. Here is to the future.
  10. Also keep in mind the "leaked images" you've seen, such as the one with Takua, are from an earlier and most likely fake leak. Whereas the new leak has no pictures to go along with it.
  11. Thank you, it means the world that you and 9999 others felt the same way as I do about the Idea of a GSR set. Certainly curious what will happen come February(? I've forgotten the date)
  12. And that's a good thing! Like seriously, the fandom became something that the likes of Hasbro really wouldn't want to be associated with, I think they're just focusing on marketing it to its intended audience now. That's good to know as I stopped at Season 4 and have wondered if I missed out on much. Yeah, the show itself was good memories for me, had a few laugh out loud moments and I remember a couple fan things like a YouTube channel named Yumsoda that made some funny ASDF inspired skits using the figurines. My favourite was one where a Queen Celestia figure was thrown on a driveway in a "how to be a princess tutorial." The last MLP thing I've heard about is Alumx's Giffin Village project (Anyone heard of it?) which I really like the 3D-2D blend and his Celestia skits are funny with the semi-broken english.
  13. Nice, that is amazing that every major Bionicle set has been archived. I hope to see Knights Kingdom Figures in there some time!
  14. Man, those are some awesome recolours. Wish I had the connections to find stuff like that Seeing the amount of test colours that are documented and the gaps in years represented makes me think there must be so many more out there. Edit: Also idk how to quote people once I've already posted, but one that Skrall Blade and GiTD Torso are cool, those would be so useful for Mocs!
  15. Looking at the games mentioned, I surmise that I am much younger. I didn't have any consoles growing up, nor many toys other than Lego, so www.lego.com was my one stop spot for Gaming, I have fond memories of many games there: The first I can remember is the Dino Attack game-in which you drive a car with instant acceleration (sounds fun but it makes it real hard to drive) and run away from insta-death mutant lizards. Some very fractured memories of Aqua Raiders games, although I think I played that on a Flash Game site a bit later. THE GOAT, CRYSTAL ALIEN CONFLICT (Okay, well MNOG is great in a story-telling way!) is really up there for me, little me had never heard of a live strategy game so it was quite the challenge and in the end I enlisted my dad's help to pass some levels. The Power Miner games where mainly just small ones, such as the rock monster long jump game, that was more my skill level. Whilst I wasn't into Bionicle back then, I do remember playing the Phantoka Battle for Power games and once again needing dad's help especially on the pursuit one. There was also the Lego City/Agents free roam game across several years, that was a weird one as it was the first time I'd seen a game that crosses over themes. It had a mixture of things to do such as time trials or item collecting, even some Agents shenanigans. There was also a plethora of Racers games over the years, one, likely back in 2006 was terrifying for me, you drive around a city and cops chase you (I guess like Smashy Road huh), that was the height of adrenaline. Then there was the Space Police games, I don't really remember them much, they weren't as interesting. Other time I think TLG realised it wasn't worth their time making flash games or at least, challenging ones, as older kids would just graduate to other stuff. Thankfully there was that library of old games to play so I would revisit Crystal Alien Conflict etc. Although even that would eventually get removed. However, as games dwindled on the Lego site, there would be a brief renaissance: The Pharaoh's Quest Game and The Dino Game. These were awesome. Both were side-scrolling, multi-level games with collectibles, bosses, puzzles and unique environments. After that I would slowly stop visiting the site and eventually the game archive would disappear but those games were a great send off to the flash era. Great memories. Footnote: You know, I think I remember coming across the name 'MNOG' in the index but for little me it just didn't sound interesting, if only I did play it then, that would have been cool.
  16. Ah so you are the man behind the slaughter...or should I say behind the legend? Really cool stuff here and that's quite interesting seeing the behind the scenes work. I'm sure like many, I've been considering making a mask for years now. Do you have any future costume ideas planned?
  17. Indeed! Also just wanted to randomly say, your sig is my favourite one on BZP, cracks me up every time! Edit: darn it I meant to make my comments all one post, welp
  18. I laughed but then I remembered my name is similar, axel is my middle name and ford my brothers middle name, originally this name was for a shared Minecraft account that eventually became solely mine and by the time I started wanting to engage with other Bionicle fans, this was sort of the only name I could think of. Also ironically axel was going to be my first name (My mother had read Journey to the centre of the earth around that time and Axel is the protag's name) but my parents chickened out and instead relegated it to a middle name, however now lots of people online shorten my username and call me by Axel so yeah! If I had a nickel for every time I knew someone who's initials spelt JAG I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird it has happened twice.
  19. Hello, happy 810NICLE day USA people! Ran out of time to post this update on my project but as the Island is a build of it's own I'll just post it here: MNR_2022ISLAND1280×960 67.3 KB (Thanks to my brother, @eilrach for help with this, took us 2 or 3 days of work to get it like this, it’s not perfect but this along with 6 mini Toa Mata was going to be the final update) (Note: This was written just before it got 10k) Well, here we are, on the verge of 10,000 supporters. I won’t be able to update this once it hits the goal so some aspects such as the Island of Mata Nui won’t get seen here…although I will post a version of the GSR with that and instructions to Bricklink so keep an eye out for that! (I will stay true to my promise!) Gathered friends, thank you. When this started out, it felt impossible to get here, this was my first Studio build and I did not know if I would complete it. Once it was built, I did not know if people would be interested, but we did it, thanks to you, a Toa, a hero. Thank you all. Thank you Maskposting, thank you r/bioniclelego, thank you TTV Boards-my digital home, thank you BZP, thank you to all those who shared the message whether it be on “Biscord” or “Biogram” and thank you to all the people who gave input and advice-you were heard. And thank you to all those with other projects, who code and modify games, those with digital forges in which new masks and tools are made, who make mocs from worlds both strange and familiar, those who film stop motions, those who review and those who write new tales. You have ensured that Bionicle has never been gone. Whatever happens from here, Bionicle will continue to live on. I was brought into the fandom by fan works and I’m sure many more will be. I’ll end things off by quoting the lad himself: “All journey’s must come to an end, but this time, there is a new beginning as well. There will be challenges to face and enemies to fight, but I know you will overcome. All that has gone before, my friends, has only served to give birth to this new day. Let unity, duty and destiny be your guides. Be well, be strong, care for this world and for each other. Farewell.” - Mata Nui Greg Farshtey -Axelford
  20. Exactly my thoughts as the creator, the project is more symbolic if anything.
  21. For many, Ninjago was and is a great line. Within Lego there has been many lines that were popular in their own right and stuff like Monkie Kid seems to be going strong. Let alone other toy brands, we're all out of touch man! From memory there's mystery toys (LOL Dolls?) etc. which have been pretty popular and evergreen stuff like transformers is chipping along. So, upon thinking about it, Bionicle is not the last long running Lego range- Ninjago now takes that crown (or heck city/town if we're being nitpicky), nor the last robot action figure line- Transformers takes that crown, but maybe in terms of hype marketing and multi-media approach, it may be rare to see again when many consolidate effort into a digital product or an isolated physical product.
  22. Yup. Plus keep in mind, since Bionicle ended he only did some Ninjago books and Hero Factory stuff but other than that he seems to had been doing catalog, Lego Life and book material for TLG for a long time now. Such as the minifigure book that was his last project, so I think he would be fine with and hopefully happy with writing catalogs or magazines that promote the product through engaging writing.
  23. Yeah! I've seen them (the spines) too! Some are definitely in my headcanon
  24. Over at TTV Boards, he has announced that he'll start up an external blog to post chapters as it is unwieldly posting chapters as-is. Also he has a new job at another Toy Company, they make wooden blocks, junior tablets and playground stuff. Guess he'll be writing catalogs etc. for them.
  25. Yikes, now I see why Lenny is not active here anymore... Anywho. Yeah, making all 36 remaining types would have been unfeasible, however, I do think nowadays with 3d Printing and stuff, ordering a "pack" for a Rahkshi of your choice would be neat, would spare me the pain of painting parts. I'm sure the spines are out there so anyone can do it. Also despite them all looking identical, I ignore that and like to think there would be some variation, with some being more beast-like or maybe changing appearance as the kraata level increases. Idk.
