  1. IC / Victus Dead / Talking to Zanth:Ah, a visitor. Zero from Team Zanth or some such nonsense, but the friend recommendation was sure to be from the Matoran with Rhindon. The door swung in and Zanth saw all the shadows in the room receding to the center of the room. The shadows swirled around Brother as he stood up and then they fell to the ground and raced back to their normal places. It was not a show on Brother’s part, just what happened whenever he stopped meditating like he just had. Pulling back his cloak, the Rahkshi grinned wickedly and said, “Ah, wonderful. Do come in, I’ve been expecting you.” Of course, the grin was meant to be cordial, but the Rahkshi of Shadow had not practiced that one much and it came out more like his vicious grin.

  2. IC / Day Run / A Little Bit Outside the Grounds: Draxion walked up to his knees in snow, happy that he couldn’t feel the immediate effects of the cold while inside of his armor. Clearing his mind, he held out his left arm, its colors of gold, tan, and blue seeming to pulse as he concentrated. The tan of his arm disappeared along with the blue. Draxion smiled and let the illusion fade and began the real work. While on his travels in the last year with Swerv, he had gained another level in his evolution. He was now a level four Kraata, whereas he was a level three in the Night Run. His skill increased with each evolution as he was now able to control several moving illusions instead of several stationary illusions or a single illusion. As for his weather control, he was able to mentally control it longer each time. Since he didn’t exactly have elemental energy to use up, it was really just how tired he was up in the ol’ brain that decided how long he could control the weather or an illusion. Thankfully he wasn’t just a Kraata. This suit of armor definitely boosted his skills when it came to powers. Without it, he would only control weather, and not much at that. He’d probably still be home with Father, if that were the case. And then he wouldn’t have to worry about Older Brother or Garett or Syrifar or any other of his friends. The Rahkshi rolled his eyes. That wasn’t exactly clearing his mind. Trying again, he started with an illusion of Illuxio, or how Illuxio would look if he were a Toa sized blue hologram. Illuxio smirked behind his Kakama and Draxion had him perform several combat moves, trying to stretch the believability of the moves to make them seem faster than was normally possible without using a power. Next, he made Gallum. Draxion had the Matoran of Illusion wave and then drop to the ground, or rather, drop to the snow. As the Matoran got up, Draxion realized he had not been creating any footprints for fake Illuxio or fake Gallum. With a new task in mind, Draxion got back to work, getting the illusion Illuxio and Gallum to start fighting each other.IC / Victus Dead / Room 425: Bah, he was not able to concentrate on searching Kai-Nam when someone had stopped on his floor. It was one of the beings who had stopped in the stairwell. If that being was coming to attack Brother, he wasn’t thinking straight. Then again, maybe the Matoran had come to talk. No, the shadows cast by the being were wrong for a Matoran. He was Toa-sized at least. Brother decided it was time to recheck the rooms closest to him. Perhaps this was some type of ambush.

  3. Well, I've finally used up my reward for creating the map. It's the ice launcher on Swerv's new staff. I'm just stating that here so everyone knows. :PBecause I know all of you were waiting to see what my final reward to be. I know you were. You can't fool me.XDAnyway, I'll be updating Swerv's profile shortly

  4. IC / Day Run Grounds / Bizarre Bazaar: Swerv glanced over at Draxion as the Rahkshi joined him at the stand before them both. The Rahkshi must have gotten through all of his stalls without finding anything; otherwise he would have come to get the robot. Looking back at the selection of staffs laid out before him, Swerv looked at the vender, selected the Toa’s voice, and allowed it past the filter he had put up. The Toa of Fire, it looked like, was in mid sentence talking to someone else when Swerv finally heard him. The Toa was saying, “-nd that’s why I always make sure to lock up my common sense when I know I’m off to do something stupid and probably self-injuring.” The Toa and some other being chuckled and then the Toa looked at Swerv and Draxion and asked, “What can I do for you today? You will find only the best at Savage Staff!” Draxion rolled his eyes and Swerv chuckled and then answered, “What is the best staff you have?” The Toa’s eyes lit up, “Ah, you’re that robot that just won a match aren’t you.” The Toa held up a finger, “Only the best for you.” Going to a large chest behind the stand, the Toa unlocked it with some type of key and rummaged about. Finally, he smiled and pulled out a staff that looked normal except for being boxy on both ends, where the staff held a blade (Like Takanuva’s Staff) and on the staff end. The Toa laid it down on the wooden counter separating them. Swerv was drooling on the inside. It was like it was his Naming Day again. The staff seemed to spark in the sunlight. The red and silver Toa crossed his arms and grinned wide, “This is one of the best staffs I have for sale. Not only does it channel your element, but,” at this he tapped one of the boxy areas that were at either end, “it also while throw out a glob of energy that becomes ice when it hits something, or you could switch the settings and just have it fire out ice.” The Toa laughed at himself and slid the staff over the counter towards the robot and Rahkshi, “Take a look for yourself.” Swerv gingerly picked it up and scanned it with several programs, measuring the condition of the staff. He sighed in delight.IC / Day Run Grounds / Bizarre Bazaar: Draxion hissed in delight at Swerv’s contented sigh and pulled credits from the bag he always carried but that wasn’t really noticed. The Toa gave the price, the Rahkshi handed over the appropriate amount, and the Toa said one final thing, “Be careful though, it does have a cool down period.” At this the Toa laughed a good hearty laugh and moved on to the next customer. Turning Swerv around, Draxion, also grinning, guided the robot through the crowd as Swerv admired his new weapon. When they finally left the bazaar area, Swerv said with determination, “I need to test this. I’ll be right back.” And with that, Swerv walked off. Draxion shrugged, he guessed he could practice his illusions. IC / Victus Dead / Room 425, 4th Floor: With the room saturated in shadow, the only sound was coming from the surrounding rooms. Brother sat in the middle of the floor, but his mind was elsewhere. It was in the shadows of the streets of City. It was in the mountains of the north and at the Day Run. It was all a little too much to try to take in at once. Pulling back, Brother focused on the Victus Dead and noticed two beings just standing in the stairwell. Or around the stairwell. Something like that. He would have to keep a metaphorical eye on that. IC / The Infirmary / With a Nurse: Waiter nodded, “Ok. I’ll be here after the match has finished then.” With that, he studied his surroundings, looking for anything off, when nothing seemed wrong, he walked to the Infirmary door and activated his mask. What was he thinking? Over half a year of not being noticed and now he was going to a meeting with a bunch of beings. As much as he hated to admit it, he probably did need help. There wasn’t exactly a plain, normal target to take out or collect. He needed to subdue, not kill. And both Lyxek and the Director, who now seemed more off than ever, were formidable opponents, even for him. Yes, he would need the help. And he had accomplished what he set out to do before reuniting with old friends. He could finally come out of hiding if he wanted to. Speaking of old friends, Waiter wondered what his Toa of Sand brother was up to. Hopefully he wasn’t getting in trouble, again. Waiter smirked, the foolish Toa was probably duking it out with Srizz or some Makuta. But then again, after what had happened to both of them, the Toa of Sand could handle himself and was slightly less his innocent self. Forcing himself to think on the present things, Toa of Protosteel decided to patrol the Day Run grounds to try to sort his thoughts. Useless tasks always helped him clear his head, and the Day Run officials probably wouldn’t mind.

  5. IC / Day Run Grounds / In the Middle of a Strange Bazaar:Swerv leaned over and whispered to Draxion, “You take one side and I’ll take the other. Look for a staff, perhaps with some special attachment. And one that can channel electricity.”The Rahkshi nodded and moved off to the left of the row of pinned up stands. They were in the middle of a circle of venders that were selling everything under the sun. Food, armor, weapons, masks, etc. There were many beings milling about, and the shop keepers themselves were all shouting at once, at anyone that was close enough. The robot was simply able to find the specific voice of each vender and have his audio receptors just not pick up those sounds. In no time at all, Swerv only heard those milling around instead of the ones shouting. It wasn’t a good way to pick up information, but the robot wasn’t exactly trying to eavesdrop at the moment.Instead, he started walking along the right side of the circle of stands. First there was one vender selling masks, which he couldn’t use if he wanted to, and second was a stand of fruit, which was also something he was not able to enjoy. The vibrant colors tempted his no longer existent taste buds. In fact, he had some of the yellow and purple striped gourd before. It was so juicy he knew he wouldn’t forget it. And he hadn’t.Trying to think back, he didn’t even remember when he had eaten that fruit. It must have been back when he was a Matoran. He still didn’t remember fully what had happened at that time. But now wasn’t the time to be looking at the past. Instead, Swerv moved forward. The third stall was decked out with every type of weapon imaginable. Swerv didn’t even recognize some of them. But all of them looked sharp and wickedly dangerous to handle. Looking through them, Swerv realized that it was every type of sword or blade imaginable, not staff. And while a rather long and thin blade caught his attention, the robot decided to move on.He went through several more stands of worthless junk that he could not use or eat before coming to another weapons vender. And this being was selling some staffs.IC / Day Run Grounds / Bizarre Bazaar:Draxion glanced over several stands as he walked along. None had any weapons, or staffs for that matter. But the most motivating factor was the aroma wafting from one stall in particular. The overhead sign said “Trisker’s Treats” and was colored aqua blue and sea green. Draxion practically floated up to the stand to see all of the baked goods that were cooling as they were being freshly made. Not being able to resist or hold himself back, the Rahkshi bought himself a pie and messily ate it out of its tin container.Licking the leftovers up and cleaning the tin dry, Draxion grinned his reptilian grin and continued on his weapons search. Finally, he found one. This vender had an assortment of weapons, ranging from swords to knives to clubs. Although there didn’t seem to be much that was special. There was a gleaming scythe, but it wasn’t really what he thought Swerv would use. Giving up on that stand, he walked along, looking at a few other weapons stalls that didn’t really have much selection. After a few more minutes of searching, he ended up standing next to Swerv at the last stall that was offering weaponry. And it was full of staffs. They were sure to find something here.IC / The Infirmary / With a Nurse:Waiter nodded, “I will.” Then he gestured to the bodies, “Do you have some type of transport that I can take them in? And if so, how long will it take to prep? I have to be somewhere in a little over half an hour.”IC / Victus Dead / Room 425:Off to the east sat a mountain enshrouded in a darkness not seen, but felt. The dark was rank with filth and the power of something not revealed. Brother couldn’t pinpoint anything, but there was definitely someone or something of power in the Ring HQ. Someone other than Lyxek.Perhaps it was some prisoner, or a wild card? Maybe it was Dalmia, who he could not feel elsewhere. Whatever the reason, it did not disturb him in the least. But what was unsettling was the KNPD HQ. At its heart, Brother could feel nothing. Nothing whatsoever.Something of power had to be creating that seal in order to keep him out. It was probably the Director, who was perhaps a sleeping “giant” of days gone by, who could only communicate through electronics. That could be another reason Dalmia said the Collector and Director were alike. Both lived through electronics, but might be something more. No, that was foolish. Brother had nothing to go off of except for a feeling and Dalmia’s word, which was not something to be trusted entirely in Brother’s opinion. Yes, he would find out eventually, but for now, he would gather his wits and scour the island, trying to map the shadows as the day turned into evening.

  6. OOC: Ha ha! :superfunny: I almost forgot Brother did that. Almost. I just didn't think you would remember. :PIC / The Infirmary / With Himself:Swerv stood up, grabbed his gear, and headed out of the Infirmary. So, he had around 45 minutes before the “meeting” that was totally not suspicious in the least. What could he do in that amount of time…A weapon. A sword or staff. The robot definitely needed one. And where else to find one than at a Tournament? Yes, he would look for a new weapon. One that he would probably be forced to enhance later. With that thought in mind, he wasn’t exactly looking where he was going. And since he didn’t have any detection systems running at the time, he ran right into Draxion as the Rahkshi turned around.IC / Day Run / With Swerv:Draxion nodded in understanding and watched as Elithes went to the Garage. So, what could he do in about an hour to help everyone? Maybe Swerv would know. Turning to go back to the Infirmary, the Rahkshi ran right into the robot.“Whoa, sorry,” Swerv said as he helped steady Draxion, “I was just thinking. Again.”Draxion frowned, “That’s becoming a bad habit.” Then the Rahkshi hissed at his own joke. Swerv chuckled and asked, “So, you doing anything?”The golden Rahkshi shrugged, “I was going to find you, but you’re already here. I don’t have anything else to do. What about you?”The yellow robot clapped his hands together, “I need a weapon. It’s about time I got another one.”“Uhh… from where, exactly?” Draxion asked.Swerv slightly rolled his head, his version of rolling his eyes, “Contestants need new weapons after what can happen in the Arena, as even Repair Disks can’t fix everything. And sometimes you need to try something different. In the Tournament of Shadows, there was a Toa, who I think was called Eo, or something. Anyway, I didn’t actually go up to him, but I heard he set up his own stand, selling weapons.“I’m sure someone has thought of that same thing here. Why don’t we go have a look?”Draxion shrugged again, “Sure.”With that, they both walked off.IC / Victus Dead / His Room:Older Brother sat in his room, in complete darkness. His legs folded, the Rahkshi meditated. Feeling the shadows swirl around him. How they felt when they touched objects and how they connected to other objects. How they all were at his whim. But Brother did not touch the shadows in his room; instead, he let his thoughts envelop the shadows of the hotel he was in. Slowly, they came into focus. Beings, all surrounded by the shadows that they did not notice nor care about. After all, who was powerful enough to really use the shadows against them? Only Makuta controlled shadows, and even then the Brotherhood was there to protect, not destroy. Sure, there was the stray, wild Rahkshi, but they weren’t that dangerous. Normally.Brother could probably kill at least half of the beings in the hotel with just one controlled series of thoughts, but that was not why he was searching the shadows. Instead, he felt the building, how the shadows moved across the floor as a visiting Matoran walked from the bar back to his seat downstairs off of the main lobby; how there were three Skakdi hidden in a room filled with rather sharp weapons, all were moving expressively, probably arguing; and how he could tell that no others near to him where able to touch the shadows like he could.Even so, he was not concerned with this hotel. He just needed it to center his mind before he went farther. Finally, when he felt he was ready, and had the shadow imprint of the Victus Dead as his focusing point, Brother let his mind wander the shadows of the island. Looking for any crevice that went too deep, or for some sort of power that was also able to touch the shadows. There, Rhindon shone like a bright light in the night. It’s power was so unique that Brother almost reached out to it. But no, he would not interfere, not yet. After all, he had given his word not to follow that Matoran. Even if this technically wasn’t following.Instead, he sent his searching elsewhere. What he was looking for exactly, he could not say, but that wouldn’t stop him from looking. And whenever the information began to overload his mind, he focused upon the Victus Dead; to keep a straight head and continue his search for the unknown.IC / The Infirmary / Near Roen the Body:Finally, Syrifar had left. Powering down his mask, Waiter came out of hiding. The Doctor was gone, but a nurse was still near the bodies, doing some type of paper work. Walking over, he asked, “Do you need someone to return the bodies to the Guild, or how were you planning to dispose of them?”

  7. IC / Outside the Infirmary / Talking to Elithes: Draxion was slowly scraping at the hard ground when Elithes paused in the doorway, right beside the Rahkshi, who was leaning on the wall very close by. The Matoran apparently didn’t notice him and started to walk off, probably to look up events or something. Jogging for a short bit to catch up, Draxion asked Elithes, “So, are we all doing something or just separating for the rest of the day?”

  8. IC / The Infirmary / With Elithes and Alan: Swerv finished checking his Cordak Launcher and laughed again, “Don’t worry, Alan. I’m sure Elithes only lets slip what he wants to. Besides, if trouble comes along, we can just beat them up. We did come first.” With his previous statement being an obvious joke, Swerv added, “Nice fighting, by the way. You almost had me in the tunnels.” IC / Outside the Infirmary / Waiting: Draxion leaned against the Infirmary wall, waiting for Elithes and Swerv. Where were they? How long did it take to get healed? Meanwhile, he was scanning the contestants around him. If Older Brother was here, he was going to try something big sooner or later. IC / The Infirmary / Getting Healed: Waiter nodded to Alan as the being walked away. It was then that he sighed, finally, he could ask for help without showing weakness to his new acquaintance, and turned to the Doctor and asked, “Could you also patch up my cut?” The Doctor nodded and after the detoxification, which Waiter enjoyed every time it happened because you never knew how many nonlethal poisons there were in your body at any given time and he always felt so refreshed afterwards, he pulled out another disk, this one of healing, and pushed the power into Waiter. His tissue and organs stitched themselves together quickly and his armor mended itself back together after another disk from the Doctor. It always felt so unnatural when your body rapidly healed. A cold shiver ran up his spine as he thanked the Doctor and turned to look for Alan. The Toa-like being was over talking to… It was Elithes, and Syrifar. Quickly activating his mask when the Doctor turned away to look at Roen, Waiter backed up into a small pocket in the wall between two machines of some type of healing. He was still going to observe Roen and the other being and see what he could learn as the nurses did, whatever it was they were going to do to them. If nothing happened, he would be glad to become visible again and offer to take them back to the Guild. After he stripped them of all useful information that they had on them, that is. IC / Victus Dead / His Room: Brother frowned and then scowled at the card. He wasn’t the one to figure out the science parts of problems. That was not his expertise. As much as he hated to admit it, the robot would probably be able to find out something about this card. The Rahkshi cringed. No, he would wait to hear from that Matoran and sword first.

  9. IC / The Infirmary / With Elithes: “YES!” Swerv raised both of his arms in a cheer, “I finally got first place. Well, sort of.” The robot chuckled at this and pulled up his Cordak Launcher, beginning to inspect it. “So what now?” he asked, completely ignoring Alan and the others on the other side of the infirmary. IC / The Arena Stands / Listening to Ehjoras: Draxion jumped to his feet and… frowned. So did Swerv really win or not? Great, now he was confused. The Rahkshi slowly made his way out of the Arena with a crowd of other beings. IC / Victus Dead / His Room: Nothing. No messages. The KNPD did not need him at the moment. Taking the Collectors card out again, Brother held it aloft with shadow, and then condensed the shadows around it, trying to get the shadows to slip through the tiniest of cracks in the card. Any at all. He was looking for any clue of what this card might be.

  10. Due to me wanting to win, I would say Kairan would end up getting knocked out first. I'd say things like, "The force of gravity was bringing the more explosive end more towards Kairan so he would be knocked out first" and "He was more tired out and would probably be knocked out or teleported first" or "Swerv did have his shield right there and powered on but I wanted to end the match quickly" and maybe even "Swerv is the best he can't lose it is impossible okay". But I won't say any of that. If you think the best course of action here is a coin flip, then I respect that. And if Blade gives or takes away Swerv's win, I will respect that too. So basically, I'm leaving it up to you to decide. Actually I'm being cheesy and worming out of the decision making process. :P

  11. IC / The Arena Tunnels / Fighting Kairan: Swerv had just gotten far enough to be a few feet in front of and above Kairan when the lightning bolt struck his back. Taken by total surprise, he dropped his last Cordak, which had been in his broken right hand. He was held in place by his magnetism as the bolt struck, and the collected and discharged electricity chose the only available route out, his right hand. The electricity leapt from his two finger tips and almost immediately connected with the Cordak that was halfway between Kairan and the robot. Kairan, who was now also magnetized to the ground, was not escaping this attack, even if it was accidental. As the Cordak exploded in Swerv’s and Kairan’s faces, the robot let out a simple, “Oh.” The next thing Swerv knew, he was completely restored, sitting on a bed close to Elithes. Turning to the Matoran, who he hoped was awake, he asked, “Did I win?” OOC: Is Elithes even still there? :P IC / Day Run / The Infirmary: Waiter finally squeezed through the Infirmary doors, with his mask off, and set Roen on the largest bed he could find. Taking a moment to retract the support beams he had make from his armor, he also used that time to catch his breath for a few moments before he straightened up and started to breath normally again. It seemed the Director’s cut had done considerable damage to Waiter; normally he tried not to show anything that might be considered a weakness. It was an old habit of his that he didn’t really think he had to break. Turning to Alan, he asked, “Are we poisoned?”

  12. Ok, I guess I'll just have to end it with a bang. *wink* Oh, and Parugi, from the RPing topic, Waiter does not know that the Director is an AI. He just heard the Director say that Alan had no one. And then Alan hasn't mentioned it either, so yeah.

  13. IC / With Vertak / Giving Information: “Well,” Brother said, placing the card back inside of his cloak, “For now, I will tell you that I have reason to believe that both the Collector and Director are merely AI, one bound by Lyxek, and the other by the KNPD HQ, or something inside of Police Headquarters. Perhaps you or your friends will be able to inspect this card sometime later when things aren’t too ‘chaotic’.” Although he said it with confidence, Brother had nothing to back up what he had just claimed. He had made a few educated guesses, yes, but he was as in the dark as most everyone else on this frozen tundra. Brother folded his arms as he continued, “No, attacks normally don’t, but be careful, Matoran, a dark power like that might use you up instead of the other way around. I felt its power, as you must have. You know it to be a thing of ancient power not like what is common today. Things like that are hard to trust. Believe me, I have had firsthand experience. “And I too have known what it’s like to deal with that being, although I feel no spite towards him. As for sneaking, I was not. I was merely following and not letting others see me. Although I must say my plan was to follow you to your base. So in that regard, you are right, I was sneaking. But that’s who I am, and I will not apologize for it. “But you have my word that I will not follow you anymore.” Handing the Matoran, who had not given his name, a card, he finished, “I’m staying at the Victus Dead if your chaotic situation ever gets handled.” With that, Brother bowed again and faded back into the shadows. He was going back to his room to see if the KNPD had come calling while he was away.”

  14. IC / With Vertak / Testing the Boundaries: Brother ignored the Matoran as he slowly got to his feet. His gaze was intent upon the sword. Finally, he looked at Vertak, scowled, and said, “Your petty threats do not intimidate me, even with the power you now possess. No matter though.” Bowing, Brother continued, “You may call me Older Brother. I have been observing this island and it has come to my attention that something big is about to happen very soon. The signs are everywhere, as you probably can see. As such, I have been gathering as much information as I can in order to make sure that if a power struggle happens, neither the Director not Lyxek gain said power. But then again, I know nothing of what is to be gained. “Seeing as the sword you now wield does not desert you, you must have significant importance or knowledge. I wish to, team up, shall we say, with my only goal being to stop the Director and Lyxek. And despite your initial reaction to reject me outright, I do have some information you may wish to share with those on the opposite side of your communicator.” At this, Brother reached into his cloak and held out the card Dalmia had given him. All that was on it was a small circle in the center. “This belongs to the Collector.”

  15. IC / The Arena Tunnels / Fighting Kairan:Swerv let himself “drop” down as the bullets bounced harmlessly off his shield to stick to the ceiling. Really, though, his feet were still magnetized, but not so strong that he couldn’t move if he didn’t want to. Grabbing his shield, Swerv began to walk along the ceiling. As he neared Kairan, he pointed his shield at the Toa and unleashed another pulse of magnetism that would once again freeze Kairan in one place.“If you say so.”OOC: The sphere is gone, but it was really a flat oval holding him to the ceiling, it wouldn't block anything. And the bullets were just luck on Swerv's part.

  16. IC / The Arena Tunnels / Fighting Kairan: It seemed luck was with Kairan, at least for a moment. Both ricocheted perfectly, and the third was right on course. It seemed that was as far as the Toa’s luck lasted. Swerv was holding himself to the ceiling by magnetism, and had done the same to his shield. He actually had to create more of a flat sphere of magnetism to get it to work, spread out to hold up both him and his shield, since he wasn’t holding on to it at the moment. So, when the bullets neared, instead of continuing on their intended path, they too were magnetized to the ceiling with three metallic chinks. Meanwhile, one roll was not enough to save Kairan from the Cordak that had just exploded where he had been moments before…

  17. I was just re-reading my Brother posts of that. I totally need to go back to the other topic to see what Dalmia's side of the conversation was. Yeah, I totally missed that the blade was talking to Vertak. Wow, I read it a couple of times when posting and I never once thought that the blade attacked. I thought it just pointed its energy of Brother. Ugh. So sorry. I totally need to re-write that post. As for Brother's past dabblings, I guess I have no real basis for saying that when I haven't written much about his past. Although while he might not have felt this type of power before, he has experienced something on the same level. Once Dreamland gets voted in you shall see. :P And it is an awesome, legendary sword. I need to re-write my post. And like I said, sorry, I didn't even know Brother was being attacked. His pulse of deepened shadows was just a show, it wasn't a counter attack or anything.

  18. IC / The Arena Tunnels / Fighting Kairan: As Kairan reached the halfway point to the next intersection, the electric buzzing intensified and suddenly six spheres of electricity flew around the corner ahead of Kairan on the right. Instead of targeting the Toa specifically, they started slamming into the walls and floor around him, too far away and without enough energy to actually cause him any real pain. Six more came afterwards to add to the confusion. What he should have done when looking down the first tunnel off of the first intersection was to look up. Even with the high ceilings and low light, he would have been able to see Swerv, magnetized to the roof of the tunnel, hiding in plain sight. Instead, the Toa of Lightning had shot off a harmless bolt of lightning after only looking down the tunnel and perhaps inspecting the untouched floor. Now, Swerv was on the ceiling of the main hallway, engaging the trap on Kairan. With the balls of energy exploding all around him, there was no way of hearing that Swerv had just thrown a Cordak at his back. In fact, it was a silent move anyway; Kairan wouldn’t have heard it had there been no explosions of electricity. Of course, while highly unlikely, Kairan might figure out that while the explosions were in front of him, it meant Swerv was behind. But even then, in the time it would take to turn around, the Cordak would have reached the Toa. Hopefully this meant the match was over in the robot’s favor. IC / With Vertak / Feeling the Pain: Brother did not have time to call on his full power. The shadow blade struck his meager defenses and shattered them. While it did dull the strike, Brother had not felt this type of shadow before. It had an ancient intensity that he could not understand, even if he did understand the amount of power that was behind the strike. The feeling was overpoweringly different that Brother grunted in surprise as the shadow blade struck him in the midsection and threw him back onto the wall of the building behind him. As he was struck, he also felt his inner bone tingle in pain. That was a new experience and shocked him into not catching himself and standing. Instead, his shadows dissipated and he slid to the ground, his cloak’s hood falling back. The whole time he was gazing at the sword. After a few seconds, he said out loud, “How interesting.”

  19. IC / Following Vertak / Waiting: Brother stopped hovering and let his feet touch the pavement. The Matoran was now out of the vehicle, but he was just standing there holding the sword. What was he doing? Brother crossed his arms and waited in the shadows.
