  1. Y... you thought I was relevant enough to make fun of.... ;_;

aaah, feels truer than it should. Well, I think something closer would be "H-hey guys I'm still here kinda i'll be back soon you know I have stuff i kinda wanna do sorta but you know i'm still kind of a big deal right hey I'm with these people now and it's awesome and it'll be great but you know these things take time hey remember when I did RoHD with Dark such good times hey listen to me ramble about background info OH GOD DARK WHY DID YOU LEAVE ME" but that would be too long. Either way, nice.

  2. The my little pony fandom extends far, faaaaaaar beyond this site. Near every site has lots of people who like it, BZPower is not unique this way.

I'm completely baffled at how you think its existence and fandom are going to hinder Bionicle ever coming back, which itself isn't particularly likely already. Even if something could affect those odds negatively, it would more likely be a large hero factory fandom rather than MLP. :/

  3. ... I'm kind of wondering if the SK Inn intro fits there. It's a fairly serious story with jokes in between and of course community references and in-jokes. :P ... though hopefully it's simple enough (Two people past their prime meet up to create something new) that people who hadn't seen my previous work... or the comics forum as a whole for that matter, could get into it. I think the greater focus so far on Burns and Del kind of helps that, being completely new characters.

Out of all the series listed, The Mercenus Chronicles was the only one I actually read, but yeah it was pretty popular. Though it DID have some pretty awesome art to go with it. ... its main problem was Rangan's habit of using rather big words where they weren't really appropriate.

I do need to read the rest of those however.

  4. ... :superfunny: Oh god, the acronyms one. I giggled so hard. AND THE SOAP OPERA ONE! OH GOD THAT IS A MILLION TIMES FUNNIER HAVING SEEN THE ROOM

... I remember for some reason the first time I read that UM comic I thought that hitman just randomly shot that guy in the head rather than missing Larry. Even though it's pretty obvious

  5. I missed the ICC Prank because I was too busy derping around in this Pokemon community. It kind of fell through though. :[

Haha, Dark and I's april fool's prank. I still remember that day fondly. :D Buttons had died a day or so before, and the whole prank(along with seeing The Room that night...) really cheered me up.

Had we had more time, it may have been a full animation with all of the characters dancing to the song. But it was very much a last minute idea I sent to Dark right after he posted the announcement.

... so I just threw that together. :P

And sadly, my SK Inn announcement at the time wasn't a joke. I actually had the first few panels of SK Inn 1 done by that time(though they were pretty different at the time). I was just hoping it would be written off as a joke if I got lazy again... and it was. Buttons' death combined with getting Zipper a few months later kind of took me away from it. x_x

  6. Yeah that was a rather odd choice of words. Then again, wholesome always seemed like a rather vague word to me... though keep in mind I don't have the best vocabulary LOL

Like I said on skype, my only real concern was the backlash. I recently remembered a time a couple years ago when Dark poorly-worded an opinion and got a loooooot of backlash for it. I'm glad that didn't happen in that case, at least majorly, and the topic kept going as normal. :P

  7. definitely go with Razor. It just doesn't seem the same with Chimoru, for some reason... maybe it's nostalgia.

Definitely. That's why I use it in flashbacks, it just puts more emphasis on the nostalgia.

I think I'll stick with chimoru for the main story for now though. I think in the end I can do more with it. I might shove in some razor every now and then though, for future flashbacks or just for some other reason.

... also I wasn't aware blogging was its own subcomunity. neat. :D

  8. There should still probably be a new rule about how no flirting is allowed in BZP - seriously, this is starting to get ridiculous.

I'm pretty sure it would qualify has harrassment on some level. You could report the posts and Pohuaki could slap them.

Failing that though, all you can really do is ignore them. Easier said than done I know. General rule for the internet at large really. Though elsewhere people would do it to deliberately be annoying. :P

  9. Yeah, in my comics I occasionally noticed that my entire cast was male, but it just felt cheap to me to invent a female character specifically for that and I had no other ideas. I had more characters than I knew what to do with anyway.

As for attracting female comic makers, I'm pretty sure any attempt at doing so would end badly. :P No matter what, it'd just come off as mildly sexist no matter how well worded and intentioned. Not to mention derailed. I really think you just have to be inclined to do it, male or female. Combine that with Bionicle's predominantly male fanbase and there you go. Plus as Miraka pointed out, you have to have the guts to reveal your gender on a board full of hormone-crazed piranhas and not get too annoyed with what happens after that.

Also, I don't know if she's been mentioned already because I haven't quiiiite been following the comments here, but Kayru: Toa of Drumming was one too. I don't know if she's still around though, and her character was male.

... for the record, if I could go back to 2004 and change things I would make Kazu a woman. I don't know why, I just would.

    Just saying.

... why is the cancel edit button IN FRONT of the complete edit button.

  10. Awesome!

I really hope the characters don't look TOO much like their set forms. I liked their movie forms, they actually looked realistic. The set versions look too robotic. Granted, I WOULD like more set faithful models... just not exactly like the sets as in the Ghost animations. Hands with fingers and thumbs are a must.
