Here are my thoughts on it.

Drew Carey: No Bob Barker, but he gets it done.
    The models: Lovely, just lovely.
The prizes: Some are lackluster, others, like the showcase are wowzers.
The big wheel: Loved it then, love it now.
The announcer: Again, the replacement dude was not as good as the original.
The contestants: Love em, those people go crazy when the get called up and win prizes.
The games: Plinko and Yodler man rox!

    Now yours!

Okay, picture this. A hovercraft, powered by propellers/motors, that floats with magnets.

Impossible? I think not. My plan is to first obtain about 1000 lego magnets (this is the hardest part), then use their reverse polarity to make the hovercraft float. You know when you turn the magnets around and they push off of each other?

To make it work, Ill first have to determine how many studs wide to make the craft, Im thinking at least 6 or 8, that way I can mount magnets on both edges of the underside. Next I will have to build the track, the walls will have to be high enough to hold the craft between them, otherwise it will just fall off. Then I will have to mount all the magnets on the sides of the track, perfectly in line with those on the underside of the hovercraft. Finally I will have to mount motors/propellers on the hovercraft, while keeping it very light as the magnets reverse polarity power is limited.

So am I just plain crazy or do you guys think it would work? In theory I think it could, my main worry is getting enough magnets and maintaining a light hovercraft. If I can pull this off I think it will be the first ever attempt at something like this with lego. I could use any further ideas/help you guys have. I am dead serious about this!

Yea, yea, I am late I know...

    8457 Power Puller

Description: Released in 2000 and retail price was about $100 bucks. Today can be found MISB for around 200 dollars. Containing 979 parts, 1 minifig and the set even came with a VHS video! This set was one of the only lego sets ever released with an instructional video. The main purpose of this was to showcase what the set could pull, heavy items that most motorized sets could not even budge.

My take: Never had this set, wanted it though. It has a ton of useful yellow parts, motors, engine stuff and the biggest tires that lego makes. I really want some of those huge tires but even alone they are expensive! Until next week!

So I just finished the polls for Distorteds Contest. That was fun! And for those who are not aware, someone will be winning a Translucent Yellow Kaukau! With 45 entries I think it did pretty well, I hope when I finally get around to hosting my own building contest that it is as good as this one.

Disty should have the polls up when he comes online, I made it real easy for him . Good luck to all!

Just got kicked off Brawling with Laka and Kohaku, and I got my rear end handed to me. Only won once on a fluke!

To complicate matters, I cannot seem to find my nunchuck controller, so getting used to these new controller configurations is taking its toll on my skills. I seem to be doing the best with just the wiimote, but I needs my nunchuck! Good games!

The best dang frozen pizza ever, you will need.

1 Frozen Pizza (DiGiorno is the best)
    1 Pack of microwave bacon
    1 Slice of Mozzarella cheese

Place the bacon on the pizza, then add the cheese. Nuke for 3 minutes and you will have a tasty treat. Okay so I probably did not invent it, but it was so good I had to share.

Now that the map has been released, what are your thoughts on it? I always thought Metru Nui and Voya Nui were closer together, also I think the Visorak got kind of shafted on their little island there. Hopefully there will be a more detailed map released soon, maybe with elevation levels and exact locations of landmarks. Geography is fascinating, I really do hope that lego will put alot more into this map.

    And away we go!

    6085 Black Monarch's Castle

Description: Released in 1988, containing 629 parts and 12 minifigs. Retail price was about $70 US dollars, today can be purchased MISB for a whopping 700 bucks, big time collectors item. This was one of the first of the larger castle sets, from the black knights series. Features include you standard castle stuff, drawbridge, armored minifigs, horses, and the castle can be opened up and closed. Considering it was released in 1988, the set sort of pales in comparision to some of the castle sets today, lacking the catapult, ballistae and other functions. Still it is worth far more than the newer sets being a diamond in the rough.

My take: Never had this set, looks like it could be entertaining. Not a whole lot of functions besides the drawbridge, but this forces you to use your own imagination more! One thing I always did like about classic castle sets was the minifig weaponry, axes, bows, swords and the other stuff like the horses covers. Until next week!

Wow, UFC 91 went down tonight. Some awesome fights for sure, the main event was Randy Coture vs Brock Lesnar for the heavyweight title. Brock won by TKO at 3:07 in the second round.

This was a huge fight, Randy Coture is 45 years old and this may have been his last fight, he had 2 sucessful title defenses before this loss, an amazing feat for a man of that age in MMA fighting today, his history of fighting is legendary and earned him the nickname "Captian America" and "The Natural".

Brock Lesnar is a former NCAA wrestling champion and a former WWE champion. He only has 4 pro fights under his belt now and is 3-1, I was very surprised he got this championship opportunity with so few fights, now he is the new champ. Frank Mir is a veteran fighter and make Brock tap out to a kneebar, he should be in line for the title. Anyway yea, if you like watching full out fighting tonight was a great show, even for pay per view, it was well worth it.

    Pirates anyone?

    6273 Rock Island Refuge

Description: Released in 1991 and retail price was about $50.00 US dollars. Today can be purchased MISB for around 200 dollars. Containing 349 parts and 7 minifigs, the set also had other unique parts like a shark, raft and mini-boat. The baseplate for this set has become quite rare. Features include your typical Pirates stuff, treasure, traps, swords and of course the monkey minifig!

My take: Had this set at one time, lots of fun. I would sometimes re-arrange the build of the set to form one long bridge, then do my best re-creation of that scene from the Temple of Doom! Lots of little details in this set, a frying pan and cooking area. Until next week!

All these goodies were traded for one blue Matatu. I would say the trade was even.

I have been looking for this item for a long time, soon I will have it. I had it when I was a wee lad, a long time ago in a galaxy far away. Call me a sissy if you like but I have an emotional bond with this, it was what introduced me to lego at the tender age of 5. I used to carry my duplo bricks in it, I even slept with it at night, I was crushed when I lost it. But now, I will heal!

PLUSHIE! This is the original from 1984, not the re-release.

So I decided to order the Castle Chess Set...

Yea I wanted the giant one released this year, but it is 200 bucks! This one looks just as good at only 1/4th the price. I do plan on getting the larger set someday though, it has very high collector value. Anyone out here play chess on a regular basis?

So now that we have a new leader of the free world, does anyone have some expectations of the new president? Here are a few of mine:

~Begin to lower the national debt and strengthen the US dollar and economy
~Deal with Iran, North Korea and Pakistan, without slandering the rep of the USA
~Bring back the shrinking middle class
~Begin legislation on a Luxury Tax

Thats not asking too much in 4 years, right?
