    As a seller of lego worldwide, I can relate to this weeks classic set!
     
    6375 Trans Air Carrier

     
    Description: Released in 1990, retailing at about 20 dollars. Can be bought today MISB for about 100 dollars! Containing 200 parts and 2 minifigs, the set is your basic cargo airplane.
     
    My take: I had this set! I really enjoyed it too, there is a working forklift and cargo car, the plane opens up to load/unload and the front wheels can swivel for easy landings. Until next week!

    Just a reminder, when the final voting of BBC 52 ends, TSC begins. The theme will be very challenging, rest assured of that. Prizes may include either a blue Matatu or trans light blue Kaukau. There will be a long entry period, probably more than 30 days, just to ensure that I will get a minimum of 20 entries.
     
    What will the theme be? No answers just yet, it will be revealed when the official contest entry is made.

    First of all, I must cry injustice! There are several entries that have no thumbnail images, which are no doubt costing them votes! I do hope this is fixed as soon as possible, our beloved Roa Mc Toa has one of these entries! Next I have to thank the BBC staff for getting the polls up quickly.

    Fakes?

    In regards to the latest News Announcement, I have looked very closely at some of these kanohi and other one of a kind collectables.
     
    There are a few of them, like the dark blue Matatu, that appear to be fakes, look very closely. This is my own opinion of course but there are other kanohi collectors that agree with me. Others like the white Huna appear real, but it almost is too bright a shade of white. These were apparently obtained directly from lego.
     
    If any of you plan to bid on these, make sure you do your homework before you pay. Just a friendly warning, there are fakes out there and I do not want to see anyone get scammed.

    Metroid Zero Mission

    Wow, I have been playing it on hard mode. It is tough, very tough, ridley and mother brain were difficult. I am now in the chozo ruins and cannot seem to get my power suit back. 3 hits from the space pirates and old zero suit Samus is toast!
     
    Anyone have some tips? It is a shot in the dark but hey, I need help on this!

    Rare Kanohi?

    So my order came in today, clear from down under. I guess these were not sold in the US, meaning there might be some rare kanohi in them! Rumor has it that these polybags are the ones you might find the white huna, dark blue matatu or dark red ruru. I want to open them, but at the same time I do not! What do I do with these now, sell them? Open them?

    Description: Released in 1993 and retailing for about 30 dollars, can be found today MISB for about 70 bucks. Containing 232 parts and 2 minifigs, this was one of the recreational series.
     
    My take: Looks like this set has it all for the outdoorsman lego fan. I like the selection of minifig tools in this set, metal detector, broom, frying pan and so on. It also comes with a cowgirl minifig and a steed! Until next week!

    Description: Released in 1988 and retail price was about 20 dollars. Containing 174 parts and 3 minifigs, can be found MISB today for anywhere between 400 and 1000 dollars, this is one of the rarest lego sets ever made.
     
    My take: What makes this set so rare? I honestly have no idea, I guess it was one of those forgotten sets that just did not sell very well or was limited in quantity. Playability looks pretty limited, you can probably stage a bank robbery or something, but why would you even want to touch this set? If I had it I would seal it air tight and tuck it away! Until next week!

    What a game. Came right down to the wire, lots of big plays, plenty of questionable calls. In the end, the Steelers pulled it out. It is a great time to be a Pittsburgh fan right now! I won some cash on a bet, plus now I can claim bragging rights all offseason long at work.
     
    People give me a hard time, seeing me in my Seattle Seahawks jacket and rooting for the Steelers. As you may recall, the Steelers won Super Bowl XL against the Seahawks 3 years ago, a game with a ton of botched calls from the refs. Seahawk fans in the area are still upset over it! But hey, I have been loyal to both teams since the early 80s, so I had to go for Pittsburgh.
     
    Anyway, congrats to them, they had an amazing season! STEE-LERS, STEE-LERS!

    Cruel Brawl!

    What is your highest Cruel Brawl score?
     
    The most I have gotten so far is 5 with Metaknight and Jigglypuff. My goal is to get at least 12, somehow, and proof of it with a screenshot.

    I always knew it was there, but until just very recently, I never knew how to do it.
     
    The game is Simcity for Super Nintendo. You might remember I had a blog entry on this game before. Since it was released in 1991, I found myself hooked on this game, it is simple yet extremely complex at the same time. I have been doing searches online since I had the internet, looking for the elusive debug code for this game. Nothing ever surfaced.
     
    But now, it has finally been revealed. If anyone is interested, here is the code:
     
    Debug Menu:
    Load or start a new city, then choose END from the Save/Load menu. When the "See you soon!" screen appears, press the following on controller 2: Left, A, Right, Y, Up, B, Down, X, Select, Start, Start, Select, R, R, L, L. Press Up or Down to scroll through the options, and press Left or Right to toggle them on or off. To activate the selected features, change MEMORY to SET and reset the SNES (they will remain active even if you power off). To deactivate everything, go back into the menu, change MEMORY to CLR, and press B.
     
    The code enables things that were never before thought possible. Why it took 18 years for it to surface just baffles me. I have several video gaming sites bookmarked, none of them ever had it. I am guessing that the person who contributed the code must have been a game developer, no one else could have possibly known the code. I am now tinkering around with it on my SNES console, I should have some pics soon of the ultimate city, with a record population mark.

    Description: Released in 1993 as a part of the recreational town series. Retail price then was about 8 bucks, today can be purchased MISB for around 30 dollars. Containing 80 parts and 3 minifigs.
     
    My take: Never had the set, not too much to elaborate on here. It is a surfers shack, looks like there is a rack for the surf boards and life jackets. Possibly some condiments behind the shack there, looks like a ketchup and mustard holder. Until next week.

    These things are allready happening. Soon there may be a cure for paraplegics also. It is a little thing called Stem Cells, possibly the future of not only medicine, but science as well! In Europe, it is allready happening, with people having grown back lost teeth!

    6339 Shuttle Launch Pad

     
    Description: Released in 1995 as part of the Town series. Containing 547 parts and 4 minifigs, retail price was about 50 bucks. Today can be bought MISB for 200 dollars, a collectable set to be sure. Features included a detachable rocket booster, working crane, shuttle interior and launch command area. The crane can be used to pull in the shuttle, connecting with the rockets.
     
    My take: I had this set at one time. It was actually alot of fun, the shuttle interior is detailed, and the crane can be used for other things than just pulling in the shuttle. It has skyrocketed in value, oh how I wish I had never opened it. Until next week!

    The Super Bowl Is Set!

    Great games yesterday, a quick recap:
     
    Arizona beat Philadelphia, after Philly scored 19 unanswered points they were unable to win the game. Heartbreak for Eagles fans, Andy Reid just cannot seem to be successful in the NFC championship. Arizona will be playing in its first ever super bowl game! Kurt Warner and Larry Fitzgerald were unstoppable in this game!
     
    And, Pittsburgh beat Baltimore, major winnage! Pitt is in the big game again! Both games were very entertaining, there was a big hit near the end of the Pitt/Baltimore game and one of the Ravens had to be carted off the field. A tough loss for Baltimore, who lost 2 times previously to Pittsburgh this year.
     
    I ended up winning cash on both of these games, as I picked Arizona and Pittsburgh to win. Of course I had the Steelers to win from the start of the preseason, I think Arizona shocked everyone though.
     
    So now the big game will be played in 2 weeks, I am picking the Steelers, being a die-hard fan. Arizona will be tough though, they have an explosive offense.
