  1. IC Kilo-M9 - Onu-metru, Archives, level 7: Analyzing situation. Compiling data. Toa Mangai no longer in service. City has reduced number of toa. City protection is inefficient. More toa are required for efficient defenses. Making additional toa requires losing one matoran for each toa. Gain of one toa>loss of one matoran. Exchange is efficient. New objectives: protect allies, obtain great disk-->obtain other great disks-->create additional toa-->improve efficiency in city defenses. Registering citizen Atamai as “ally”. Registering citizen psionics toa as “ally”. Auditory signal detected. Sounds of scuffle, about 5 sublevels down. Nearby pit is quickest path. Moving to assist. A brief pause, barely any amount of time for a living being, but ages for a computer. The next sentence from the speaker was brief, but clear. “This unit will help- recover the Great Disks.” The machine moved toward Vashni, deactivating the bubble with some sort of signal. Mechanical arms moved to catch the toa before she hit the ground. The metal guardian moved to the edge of the pit, before looking at Atamai and tilting its head towards its back. There were no words this time, but the message was clear. Climb on.
  2. IC Kilo-M9 - Onu-metru Archives, level 7: Hypothesis confirmed: Citizens are searching for great disks. Preservation of disk in archives=unknown variable. Elaboration of motives required. “Current search- for great disks inefficient. Disk is not on this sublevel. Sublevel is dangerous,” the machine responded. The machine played another voice clip, this one more complete and recent enough for all to remember. “Find them and Mata Nui will reward you with the powers of toa-” the voice of Turaga Dume announced. “Does this announcement match your objective?” HOSTILE ACTION DETECTED. Incoming projectile: bohrok stasis tube. Citizens will be in danger if bohrok is freed. Objective: prevent damage to tube. Additional energy from toa boosting rear leg shock absorbers by 20%. Calculating angle of catch. Bracing for impact... The robot moved deliberately into the path of the flying stasis tube, its body catching the brunt of the impact. Skidding back a few feet, the motors on its legs groaned in protest to arrest the momentum of the cylinder. Once the force of the object had completely diminished, the scorpion robot carefully moved to place the cylinder back on the ground, taking extra care not to damage the seal in any way. All the while it kept its eyes focused on Atamai, maintaining its unnatural stare. Calculating response to hostile action. Hostile toa is contained. No follow-up action necessary. Element of surprise has been lost. Further combat inefficient. Best course of action: continued communication.
  3. IC Kilo-M9 - Onu-metru Archives, level 7: Citizens have not returned fire. Citizen Akamai communication acknowledged. job position Irrelevant. Citizen lacks clearance for level 7. Irrelevant. Lower levels unsafe. Citizen is not at job station. Splicing sentences. Preparing verbal response... “Communication by citizen At-a-mai acknowledged. Archivist position irrelevant. This Unit will return citizen to proPER WORK station. Citizens will be safe. Most efficient method.” The robotic protector fired another energy bolt at Vashni to confirm the hit and prevent any counterattacks. If she was hit the toa would find herself encased in a transparent bubble a little larger than her that would slowly rise up. Her energy would be drained until she passed out from exhaustion after a minute or two. The machine paused for a moment. If Atamai looked closely, he could almost see the machine tilt its head, perhaps in thought. But that was unlikely; gestures like that were only done by organic beings. The speaker crackled to life once more. “Query: state citizen's purpose on this sublevel.”
  4. IC Kilo-M9 - Onu-Metru Archives, level 7: Tracking targets. Targets heading for bohrok stasis tubes. Citizens have stopped. Locating hiding spot. Hiding spot found: behind bohrok stasis tube. Identifying targets. Comparing to archives personnel records... Match found: Atamai. Fe-matoran. Archives worker, tourism division. Does not have level 7 clearance. Identifying other targets. Not found in archives personnel records. Does not have level 7 clearance. Analyzing probability of mission success against all four targets: 34% Unfavorable odds. Conclusion: observe further and prepare for future confrontation. ...Targets are traveling down tunnel to lower levels. Targets do not have lower level clearance. Matoran in exo-suit has left immediate area. Ba-matoran has left immediate area. Toa is using some form of telekinesis. Lack of mask glow indicates toa of psionics. Analyzing probability of mission success against two remaining targets: 73% Favorable odds. Toa is distracted using powers. Best opportunity is now. Engaging... *** The robotic law enforcer step out from behind the tube it had concealed itself behind and immediately launched two energy bubble bolts at Vashni and Atamai, the last members of the tour group remaining on the upper level. Charging forwards, blades drawn, the machine whirred in thought before a sound emitted from a seldom-used speaker in its cranial unit. It was a voice, or rather, a jumbled mass of voice fragments, some recorded from archived footage of city-wide announcements, others from overheard conversations, and a few pre-programmed words in a deep, masculine robotic voice. “Citizens will Return to WORK stations. Access to this sublevel is reSTRICTed. Remain still,” the speaker crackled. The mech continued to march forwards, green eyes aglow with dispassionate professionalism. OOC: I am hereby joining the tour.
  5. IC Kilo-M9 - Onu-metru, Archives level 7: Arriving at main elevator. Tracks indicate struggle of some kind. Analyzing... Multiple bipedal footprints. Size and shape indicates two matoran, one toa, one unknown. Data on unknown group inadequate. Number of individuals makes direct confrontation unlikely to succeed. Solution: track group, acquire more information, remain hidden. Entering stealth mode. Following tracks. The law enforcer looked up from the scene of the original commotion to look down the tunnel. The voices of the group further down were still echoing through the tunnels. The green glow of its eyes dimmed as it quietly creeped into the tunnel. Despite its large size and the somewhat frequent lightstones mounted on the walls of the tunnel, the machine was able to blend in with the shadows with well-practiced skill. Its once plodding footsteps were now almost completely muted. Once it had collected more information, it would make its presence known, whether the tour group was ready or not.
  6. IC Kilo-M9 - Onu-Metru, Archives - going down: Analyzing new archives data. New data does not match existing information. Identifying discrepancies... No records in new data-set for levels 7, 8, 12. Comparing with existing data. Probability of citizens searching level 7 first for great disk, 86%. New objective: travel to level 7, return citizens to work stations, protect citizens. The tunnels of the archives were a collection of mazes layered upon one another. Natural and man-made tunnels looped and intersected, with what order there was only existing by the archivists’ insistence that it was present. Those who were more familiar with the archives knew that such insistence was foolhardy. The tunnels were chaos. Chaos that had its uses for those who could navigate it. The robotic enforcer moved at a deliberate pace, its plodding footfalls just adding to the existing din of sounds echoing through the underground. What rahi lurked on the upper floors knew well not to mess with their metal neighbor. The machine entered a side tunnel with a much greater downwards slope that one would normally see. There was no light here, but that wouldn’t stop the machine. It had no need for light, for food, for companionship. It had a mission to fulfill; nothing more. Descent to level 7 proceeding at moderate pace. Passing floor 2, 3, 4, 5. Auditory signal detected. Identifying... Signal identified. Screams, shouting. Multiple voices, likely sentient. Triangulating source. Source of voices coming from lower levels. Possible danger to citizens. Further information needed. Increasing descent pace by 62%.
  7. IC Kilo-M9 – Onu-Metru, Archives first level: Target detected. Identifying... Identification verified: Ice bats. Scanning... No archives tags detected. Conclusion: Targets are not exhibit specimens. New objective: Seek and eliminate. *** Today had truly been an exceptionally boring one. The archivist manning some of the research stations was used to slow days. While research into the past was certainly important, it was not something people came to do in the archives much anymore. Nowadays everyone was busy using their iStones for information, glued to the glowing screens. Not too long ago he was reading stone tablets using just a lightstone! The gall of the youth. Even now where once the research section had been bustling with researchers analyzing artifacts and comparing notes to each other there was only the silent musing of patrons looking through the digitized reading material. And so the archivist’s role had been merely reduced to tech support and telling people where they’d likely find the information they were looking for. What a fall from grace. This afternoon had become exceptionally boring as the news from the turaga had sent everyone running in search of discs. What few patrons there had been looking up information had all scattered with glee at the idea of being a toa. Like being a toa was anything special. Back in his day, the archives were hand constructed, each tunnel dug out with pickaxes. Then drills came, and workers started losing shifts due to the increased efficiency. Sure, they eventually added more shifts to expand the archives even more, but if your muscles didn’t hurt after a day’s work, was it really working? His musings were interrupted by a loud series of screeches. He paid it no mind, until the screeching became louder, and louder. Out from a side tunnel, a small flock of ice bats emerged. His first instinct was to yell at them to not damage the research consoles, but as he approached they turned as one to stare at him. They were quite large for ice bats, and they looked hungry. He ran down one of the maintenance tunnels in a foolish attempt to escape. What head start he had was rapidly shrinking as their faster flight let them gain ground. Once he reached a fork in the tunnel, his indecisiveness cost him. Sharp talons crashed into his back, sending him tumbling onto his back. He slowly tried to back into one of the side passages, batting teeth and claws away, but he knew there was no holding them back for long. The largest one of all was readying a charge, and the archivist knew he wouldn’t be able to block it. He covered his head with his hands as he waited for the end. The end did not come, much to his surprise. A few moments after he had expected to die, he took a peek at what had changed. The lead ice bat was encased in some sort of bubble, chattering angrily. Its fellow ice bats were staring past the matoran at something behind him. He heard clockwork motors and plodding heavy footsteps behind him. The Vahki were here to rescue him! He turned back to look at his mechanical saviors. Out of the darkness, red eyes aglow, came a scorpion-like machine, blades drawn, tip of its tail still smoking from the initial blast. Not a Vahki. The archivist curled into a fetal position as the Kralhi charged. The machine stepped over him to directly engage the bats, who had come to grips with their fellow’s imprisonment and resumed their aggression. The first bat to charge was neatly bisected down the middle with precision only a machine could have. Half an ice bat landed next to the archivist, the visceral image settling into his future nightmares. The second ice bat was a bit smarter, dodging the first few strikes of the mechanical enforcer. A third bat lunched itself brazenly at the robot’s head, latching onto one of its red eyes. Animal and machine struggled with each other, the bat managing to pull the ocular receptor out of its socket before being impaled on the blade of the robot. The second ice bat, trying to take advantage of the robot’s damaged state, charged once more. It was for naught as the machine recovered its bearings removing one of the bat’s wings. The pest fidgeted on the ground in pain until it was promptly silenced by a mechanical foot crushing it underneath. The tunnel was silent aside from the whirring of clockwork components and the frenzy of the largest bat, still encased in the bubble. The pace of its cries slowed and it slowly passed out, the bubble encasing it dispersing and letting the body flop to the ground. The archivist stared at his savior, its eyes now an unfeeling green. The machine reached into a compartment on its side, removing a kanoka disc of some variety. With one hand it pushed its damaged eye back into place while the other hand tapped the disc to the damaged components. Regenerating energy flowed from the disc into the socket, and the eye was returned to its undamaged state. The robot turned to the matoran, returning the disc to the side compartment. It extend a blade towards him and then pointed down the tunnel he had originally run from. Back to his work station. The archivist took some time to find his voice. The words that came out were shaky and lack any confidence. “I’m not s-sure if I can resume my work at this point, K-Kralhi. That encounter was quite terrifying, and I’m no long in a good head space. P-perhaps I can-“ The Kralhi pointed again at the matoran and back to his work station. It was a slower and more deliberate motion. The blank stare of the machine had not changed, but the intent on its movements was clear. The archivist pondered his options. Past the Kralhi was a tunnel which lead to a more active part of the archives. Vahki were there. Maybe they’d be understanding if he told them about the Kralhi. There wasn’t much chance, but if he dodged the tail blasts he might be able to make it. It was his only chance. He ran past the machine down the tunnel. The only thing that turned to watch him go was the tail of the machine. It fired only once. The archivist would be returned to his work station, whether he liked it or not. *** Objectives completed. Ice bats have been neutralized. Citizen has been returned to work. Ocular receptor repairs completed. Low power regeneration disc energy at 46%. Replacement will be needed soon. Analyzing archives data-banks for likely Great Disc locations. Storing data. Proceeding to next location. OOC: Just leaving an unconscious matoran for the tour group to find. I suppose there's also a large sleeping ice bat nearby as well.
  8. IC Kilo-M9 – Onu-Metru, the Archives: Auditory signal detected in nearby proximity. Deactivating sleep mode. Restoring normal system functionality. Engaging OS wake-up boot. Citizen Pacification Unit OS Ver. 1.2 unit designation K1R1 Kilo-M9. Wake-up boot complete. Analyzing audio signal. Comparing to sound memory bank… Match found: footsteps. Likely bipedal. Possible sentient, lighter sound suggests Matoran. Entering stealth mode. Lowering ocular illumination. Decreasing motor drive speed. New objective: Identify incoming target. Engage if necessary. *** Kaj had decided to take a break from work today. The day in and day out grind of guarding the upper levels was something he had longed to get away from, at least for a moment. The last time he had anything close to excitement was when a furnace salamander had gone for a run through the reptile wing of the Archives. He was curious to go see it again. Currently, he was making his way down to one of the storage floors. Creatures in stasis that had yet to be placed back in their exhibits were kept here, in varying levels of security. The salamander was technically in a light restricted area, but what the Vahki didn’t see wouldn’t hurt them. A quick trek down the hallways lead him to the stasis tube he was searching for. It was a thing of beauty, a reptile with wings who was about the size of a toa. What a fascinating creature! He was about to head back to his post when something to the side caught his eye. Higher up the wall was a metallic object, partially embedded in the earth and stone. He went to flip the light on his iStone tablet on when a sudden message from Turaga Dume started playing. Kaj dropped the tablet in surprise, and it clattered to the ground as the turaga began his speech. “My people, your turaga brings good news.” Kaj left the tablet on the ground as he investigated the object on the wall. It was higher up than he could reach, but he stretched his arms and legs to try to get a good look at it. Oddly, his efforts seemed to be working; he was within reach of the curious item. “The vahki will no longer need to sweep our streets and request access to our homes.” His hand was about to touch the curious item, but seemed to stop a short distance away, almost as if something was in the way. Kaj was within eye level of the object and could now make out the details. It was a decapitated Vahki head. “And in the war against those who no longer walk in the light we must be ever vigilant,” the Turaga continued, raising his hands in a grand display. Something felt wrong to Kaj. How was he eye level with the Vahki head, and why couldn’t he touch it? He was breathing heavily now from exertion. His limbs were heavy. He needed to lie down. As he looked down, he caught a glimpse of his tablet still playing the address. It was far below. He was standing in what appeared to be a sphere of energy. He recognized this type of containment. “Find them and Mata Nui will reward you with the powers of toa to save and spread his light.” With what energy he had left, Kaj craned his neck to look up. Despite the haze that was clouding his vision, he recognized the dark silhouette climbing across the ceiling towards him, and the blank stare of the glowing green eyes that came with it. “Remember the virtues. Be United. Do your Duty. Fulfill your Destiny.” Recognition in his mind turned to horror, but he no longer had the energy to scream. Darkness consumed him. “You are safe in the light.” Kaj would soon be found sitting against the wall in one of the primary access tunnels of the exhibit storage zone. Whether he was found and awoken by Vahki or his fellow archivists, the result would be the same: He would claim to have been attacked, but his story would fall on deaf ears. There was nary a scratch on him, and his valuables were still in place. His unconscious state would be chalked up to stress from work or laziness. He was missing a Kanoka, sure, but he had probably misplaced it or dropped it somewhere. Just another wise guy trying to get out of work. Besides, who would believe a story that crazy? They were long since banished from the city or destroyed, and the Vahki were keeping everyone safe. There was no way a Kralhi could still be around, right? *** Objective completed. Target is being transferred back to work station. Effects of pacification temporary. Efficiency of city will not be negatively impacted. Recording of Turaga Dume added to memory banks. Analyzing audio. Generating transcript. Analysis of message complete. Conclusion: citizens likely to leave work in order to search for disks. If large numbers of citizens search for great disks, efficiency of city will be hindered. Solution: Apprehend wandering citizens and return them to proper work stations. Beginning patrol of local area...
  9. Never fear, The Law has arrived. Hope I didn't typo super hard. Name: Citizen Pacification Unit K1R1 Kilo-M9 Species: Kralhi Faction: Metru-Nui sort of Brief Description: Kilo-M9 is a standard Kralhi in shape and size, a scorpion-like mechanical creation about the size of three Toa clumped together. It has four legs which are able to grip all manner of surfaces and two arms that are usually holding its tools, two wide curved blades for defending itself and the city’s citizens and for guiding and encouraging wayward Matoran back to their workstations. On its rear there is a prehensile tail with two prongs for emitting energy bubbles. Its forelegs and head are metro green, with the rest of its body and limbs being black for camouflage in its home metro. Both of its front legs have noticeable scars and chipping from lack of maintenance and there is a large running diagonally down its face. Side compartments on the main body contain a store of Kanoka discs. It has green eyes during normal operations but will switch to a red-orange color during combat situations or dim them entirely for stealth. On its face is a permanent expression of determined authority which can come across as more terrifying than intended. Background/Occupation: Kilo-M9 is but one of many Kralhi that were created by Nuparu as a predecessor to the Vahki. This particular unit was assigned to the Onu-Metru region, warding overly curious tourists and archivists away from restricted zones and assisting with the often frequent break-out attempts by the exhibits. Unfortunately, the Kralhi’s method of enforcing order by draining the energy of troublemakers was deemed an issue as the affected individuals were too dizzy or exhausted to work for a while after an encounter with the law. Turage Dume commissioned the Vahki as replacements and ordered the Kralhi’s destruction, but the machines would not go quietly. Many rebelled against their fate and were forced out of the city. Others took up hiding in the various Metru. Kilo-M9 is one such unit. After fighting off several attempts at deactivation by Vahki squads the battered law enforcer took up residence in the deeper sections of the archives. The network of tunnels provided ample space to hide and make repairs. Despite its isolation and betrayal, the unit is still given purpose by the same primary objectives: 1. Preserve this unit at all costs 2. Bring efficiency to the city 3. Protect and serve the Matoran Despite the necessity of staying hidden lest the Vahki resume attacking it, Kilo M9 has mostly resumed its primary duties patrolling the sublevels of the Archives, assisting individuals out of the restricted areas whether they want to or not. Flaws: Kralhi are able to analyze opponents and devise plans to deal with them based on their abilities and traits. However, the machines are limited in their ability to think on the fly, and quick improvisation can trip them up. Kilo-M9 is also limited by its primary objectives and will follow them at all costs. It will not take violent action against Metru-Nui citizens unless hostile action is taken against it or there are conflicts with objectives 1 and 2. Kilo-M9 also cannot swim and will avoid having to submerge its body whenever possible. Powers: Kralhi have strong mechanical joints making it somewhat stronger than the average Toa. It is able to climbs on walls and cling to ceilings with its clawed feet and can remain still and silent for long periods of time, making it surprisingly good at hiding. It is programmed to be skilled at hand to hand combat with its blades, and while it has primarily fought Rahi it is no stranger to having to engage in battle with the more sentient creatures of Metru-Nui. Its signature weapon is the energy bubble generator in its tail. The tail launches bolts of energy that when striking a target encases it in a bubble which lifts into the air and begins draining their energy into the Kralhi. Said bubbles can drain energy at a fast enough rate to knock out an unsuspecting Matoran or exhausted Toa within minutes. The bubbles are difficult to break out of from the inside and do not burst upon contact with walls or ceilings. Direct force needs to be applied to escape. Kilo-M9 also carries on its person a selection of Kanoka discs, usually 3 weaken discs and 3 regeneration discs of various power levels which it uses against opponents in combat and for field repairs, respectively. It acquires these from individuals it helps and from hunting stray Vahki units that wander into its jurisdiction. Finally, Kilo-M9 features a voice recording functionality which enables it to play back any words or phrases it hears. While it can speak Matoran freely at ultrasonic frequencies much like the Vahki, it usually uses edited and rearranged phrases to communicate directly with Matoran and other sentient beings.
  10. IC Yasurek- Ko-koro: The battle was joined! Yasurek and Mimira emerged from the Ko-koro citadel ready for action, only to find that there wasn't any action nearby. The delay of leaving the 'Vika had allowed their allies to engage the enemy without them, and the righteous combat they sought was taking place several blocks away. Seeing as there was no immediate fighting to worry about, Yasurek took stock of the situation. His former home was in a dire state, rubble and scattered snow banks filled the streets. Several buildings had been toppled, and many of the still standing structures had noticeable holes in them. Most of the destruction was concentrated near the main gate, with the rest of the damage localized near what looked to be a warehouse around which combatants were battling each other. Gukko force birds were flying over head, each pass being followed by the sounds of distant explosions. It was a chaotic situation, and inwardly Yasurek lamented how his home had been ravaged by it all. What had Ko-koro done to deserve such a fate? Nonetheless, there was a time and place for such musings, and it was not here. He hadn't left the safety of the ship to watch his city burn after all. There was still evil here, and Yasurek wasn't going to stand by and not help remove it from this land. He stepped forward, spears in hand, and the peculiar pirate pair purposefully plodded down the path at a punctual pace. Their principled pursuit was interrupted by the sight of a shady lesterin attempting to sneak up on the attacking forces of good. This was a foolish choice, and he was hopelessly outnumbered, but whether by greed or zeal or just a lot of self-confidence that he could take out someone important with the element of surprise, he was lying in wait. So preoccupied was he with his cunning plan that he didn't notice the pair of matoran approaching behind him until the spear pierced his knee. He screamed in pain as Yasurek wrestled him to the ground, kicking his punctured leg to force him to his side. Wrapping his arms around his foe's throat, it was only a matter of time until the villain's movements slowed, the frequency of his breaths reduced, and he drifted off to- And then Mimira bopped him on the head with her hammer, and the Lesterin was out like a lightstone. Yasurek gave an appreciative nod to his companion, picking himself off the ground and brushing away the snow. Looking ahead of them, it was a mess of isolated skirmishes, people running every which way. He could recognize the ILF members from the ship, so he could just meet up with them and attack whoever they were fighting to make things easy. Retrieving his spears, the former guardsman steeled himself for the upcoming fight. There was no turning back now. With icy resolve resolve in his eyes, and a small grin on his face, he charged. The battle was joined.
  11. OOC: Hey Snelly, just out of curiosity what mask does Mimira have? I was looking up what she looked like and discovered her profile doesn't actually have a mask listed. IC Yasurek- Infernavika- Ice Tunnel: Yasurek grinned. "Good to hear someone else is excited," he said. His brow furrowed a bit in thought. That's our Mimira, always ready for action. It's probably too dangerous to bring her along though. No, I trust her. She's proven herself dependable enough, and at the end of the day, it's not my choice whether she goes or not. He hefted a pair of glaives and strapped them to his back before turning back to Mimira. "Just make sure to stay close to me or one of the others if they come too. I know you can take care of yourself, but that's no reason to go wandering off and getting in trouble." With the last bit of equipment attached he addressed the rest of the crew, "Alright gang, final call. Anyone else going ashore, now's the time to say so."
  12. IC Yasurek-Infernavika-Some tunnel in Ko-Wahi: Yasurek raised the side of his cloak over his head as the explosion rocked the icy wall before them. Bits of ice and cold dust bounced off the makeshift barrier, and as the bits and pieces started to settle he took stock of the situation. Reordin and his posse had vanished through the still settling cloud of debris, with nary a trace of tacks to follow. It was a very stylish exit, Yasurek had to admit. Some people thought that being cool meant walking away from explosions without looking at them, but this lot had walked through an explosion while looking directly at it. He started to clap, slowly, with a sarcasm meant for people who were no longer there. This had the added effect of shaking off some of the residual snow that had built up on him from the blast. "Wow. Yes, very good. Leave some of your backup behind so you all can look cool. Great planning. Tactical genius there. Ugh." He slumped a bit in resignation, his somewhat bitter words giving no satisfaction. Part of him was tempted to remain here, figure out something to do, somewhere else to go, drift along to wherever life took him and continue to do nothing. It was all he had been doing for a long while. But there are still things to be done. He still had a job he needed to complete. And so he started rifling through the weapon stores, strapping on his preferred loadout of too many spears and some blades. They still have to follow a tunnel from sea level to a ways up the mountain, and they've only got a minute or two head start. I can catch up. He took a moment to shoot a glance at his captain. Hopefully he'd have the same idea in mind. "Captain, I'm of the thought that we follow after them to provide support," he began. "Abrupt and somewhat rude though their exit may have been, we've taken them this far, and I believe the deal was to assist them in the combat part of the job. Now I'll admit I have a bit of a personal stake in helping liberate my old home, but I don't think we should go about leaving a job half finished. If you have something else in mind, some actual tangible plan for us to do something else, then feel free to share it. Otherwise, I'm taking my weapons and I'm going to go stab some of the forces of darkness. You and anyone else in the crew is welcome to come along, just be quick about getting ready. They haven't gotten far, but there's no need to tarry."
  13. IC-Yasurek-Infernavika: Yasurek turned on his heal to rally the others when his captain noticed something up on the slopes. Despite what Lohkar may have thought, Yasurek was at least decent at looking at what things are when he knew what they were beforehand. A quick glance indicated a muaka, a matoran, and another small rahi, perhaps a Hapaka? They seemed to be having a struggle of some sort. "Looks like a matoran squaring off with a muaka, with some assistance," he relayed to his captain. "They have it surrounded, so it looks like things are going well..." The handle of a spear splashing into the sea nearby interrupted that thought. "...But it might be a good idea to render aid. I'll rally the crew, you think of a plan." So saying he proceeded below decks. "Up and at 'em everyone, we need all crew members on deck and Toa Reordin and co ready to go as well! We are nearly at our destination and there's no telling what awaits us. Lasinia, Gunner, I suppose also Mimira, and any other crew members that haven't said anything for months but are still definitely on board, step to it!" Perhaps things were going to start happening. Yasurek was thrilled at the prospect.
  14. It's amazing sometimes how a ship in the BZPRPG that is said to be fast in the story has a tendency to be the slowest moving object in the universe as soon as it needs to actually get somewhere. Maybe it's so fast that it needs to freeze in place until the rest of the world can catch up. It's still fun to be on though.

  15. IC Yasurek- Infernavika- Somewhere in the Ko-wahi sea: Being a lookout is generally a rather thankless job. You main role is to stay in one place, gazing out into the world, looking for anything unusual or interesting. One of the main things you end up looking for are threats to you and your compatriots. You must always keep your eyes open and your mind sharp so you, the first line of defense, the early warning system, can keep everyone alive. It requires patience and mental fortitude that few possess in large supply. Ko-matoran pride themselves on their willpower, their ability to block out the need for such things as talking to others, their ability to stay on the task at hand for long periods of time. Yasurek was really bored. Slight sway left, slight sway right, slight sway left. At the top of the crow's nest, Yasurek was observing the world. It was full of water and occasional ice. He wasn't sure how long he had been up here. Lohkar had mentioned arriving at their destination in roughly an hour or so, but Yasurek was pretty sure it had been longer than that. After the first long while, Yasurek had realized he needed something to do to remind himself that he was still alive while not distracting himself too much. To that end he had started strengthening his willpower by using an old Ko-koro exercise, balancing on top of a moving pole. Currently he was standing on the edge of the nest, arms splayed slightly to help his balance, keeping himself balanced despite the rocking ship. It wasn't an exactly replica of the exercise, but it was still something. Medium wave approaching port side. Based on the angle, the next motion of the ship should be... ... ...Moderate sway to the right. Lookouts have an interesting job in that it's usually best for the group if nothing ever actually happens, leaving the lookout with nothing to do. He knew this was the case, but there were limits. Something had to be done. Some in his position on top of the ship with their arms splayed may have been tempted to proclaim that they were "king of the world" in order to pass the time, but Yasurek wasn't like that. The urge had left him after the first hour. He lowered himself back onto the nest's main platform, a thin layer of snow falling off his arms, small ice crystals slipping off his cloak onto the wood platform. He vaulted over the railing, sliding down the snow-covered ropes down to the deck below. Controlling his descent speed he landed on the deck with little noise or impact. He moved to check the sails, performing minute adjustments that technically made them catch the wind more, but probably didn't really matter. This was all to give him reason to approach the ship's wheel, or more specifically the Lesterin that was currently steering it. Soon enough, he was next to his captain, who was making minute adjustments of his own to the wheel. There were many things he wanted to talk to Lohkar about, mainly whether there was a plan to get into Ko-koro once they had reached the port they were heading to, what kind of resistance they expected at the port, how exactly a small ship of pirates, mercenaries, and a couple full time heroic people were going to take out a fortified evil army, and how long they had actually been sailing. But there was one question that he needed to ask, one answer he needed to have, though asking it would cause him nothing but pain. It was time though. There was no putting it off any longer. "Captain Lohkar Sir," he began, "Are we there yet?"
  16. IC Yasurek: "Quite nice actually. Saw a bit of rain while I was up there; very unexpected. Also a good place to nap, but I wouldn't know anything about that."
  17. IC Yasurek-Infernavika: A nondescript ko-matoran descended from the crow's nest of the Infernavika. The speed and grace at which he lowered himself to the main deck was very skilled, but because it was Yasurek it still managed to look rather ordinary. "Midshipman Yasurek, reporting for duty, Captain Lohkar Sir," he said, giving a quick salute. "All supplies have been restocked, so we're ready to set sail whenever."
  18. IC Yasurek- Infernavika: "Also crew, Lohkar's ready for us to pull our loot up," Yasurek told the rest of the crew. "Let's get these disc launchers out of the ocean and onto the ship so we can carry on with our lives." He braced himself and started working the pulleys, but it would take help to get it done.
  19. IC Yasurek- Ta-wahi waters near Infernavika: Yasurek listened intently to the plan Lohkar laid out. It was simple and easy and made perfect sense, which was surprising coming from Lohkar. Yasurek did his part and swam back to the 'Vika to fetch some rope and set up the pulleys since Lohkar was far more aquatically inclined. "Hi everyone, I'm back," he announced to the rest of the crew as he climbed onto the deck. "Lohkar wants us to set up a pulley so we can retrieve some launchers off the shipwrecks. Can someone pass me a rope?"
  20. IC Yasurek-Ta-wahi bay-soon to be not underwater: Yasurek was quite relieved to see that the wrecked ship's weapons were still intact. He wasn't sure how to get them to the 'Vika, but that was probably what Lohkar wanted to talk about. He followed the others back to the surface.
  21. IC Yasurek- Ta-wahi bay: Yasurek was relieved to see Lohkar by one of the wrecks. He had half-expected the captain to have attracted the attention of an angry sea monster. As Lohkar beckoned him and Gunner over to his position, Yasurek's thoughts turned to the wreck the captain was examining. What could Lohkar have noticed about this wreck compared to the other ones?
  22. IC Yasurek-Ta-koro bay: "Of course." Yasurek dove down into the water, eyes open for any sign of Lohkar. Seeing no immediate sign, he pulled out his lightstone and started swimming down to the wreckage of the pirate ships.
  23. IC Yasurek- Ocean of Ta-wahi: Gunner was interupted by a soft splash next to him. Yasurek soon returned to the surface, trying very hard to conceal the expression of someone who has just pushed his friends into the ocean. "Wouldn't be surprised if the Captain is still down there. He can hold his breath for quite a while," he told Gunner. We should probably head after him."
  24. IC Yasurek- Infernavika: Yasurek shot a concerned glace at Lasinia before reluctantly handing most of his great many spears to Mimira. He kept 4 unimportant ones with him, just in case. "Take care not to lose any of those," He told Mimi. "I'll know if any are missing. Also, don't hurt yourself or any of the crew with those. I'm sure you're already aware, but the pointy bit is the most dangerous part." After taking a quick trip below deck to grab some extra air bladders, he returned to the rest of the group and turned to Lohkar. "You coming as well, Captain Lohkar Sir? You are the most aquatically inclined of us after all."
  25. IC Yasurek- Infernavika: "I'm with you," Yasurek replied, hopping onto the railing next to Gunner. "I was piloting this ship around for most of that battle without weapons. You'd better believe I want to help get some."
