  1. IC: [Olari - The Spine] Progress was slow. A little because going too fast would run the risk of ruining Xara's cloud cover, and a little because Olari didn't want to drop anyone. None of her passengers were particularly streamlined, try to move them along with too much haste and air resistance would pull them from her grip. Still moving faster than they would have walking, though. Going literally as the crow flies meant they were avoiding having to cross ravines or go round impassable peaks. They were able to follow Virse's directions without having to scale, climb, descend, rappel or even so much as touch the actual mountains. "We nearly there?" Olari called downwards to their guide IC: [Jorth - Training] "Well, I shall leave you to your rest then. Pleasure working with you Miril." Jorth gave a small bow out of courtesy, the beaks on the end of his tentacle coat rattling as he moved IC: [Hollis - Muaka's Den] "An arsenal? My dear if throwing rocks at the walls worked we would all be free by now." He gave a benevolent smile. When you're an Av-Turaga, such actions come naturally. Something about the way smiles and light both beam... "Oh, and do speak up if I'm being a patronising old git. I have been told many times that I am not a people person." IC: [Tuyetkhamun - Knowledge] "Our fellow strandees have enough on their plate with food and the cultists. They will not care about us. You think we will have a war on two sides, I saw we have a war on no sides at all. Survivors, cultists, they will be too busy at each others throats to notice us." Tuyetkhamun clenched her fist. "And that will be their mistake!" IC: [Venga - Engineering] "I'll tell you what. When we get back to our own universes, try to look each other up. I'll see if I can find a Venix, you see if you can find a Venga. No way we'll recognise each other, obviously, but worth a look."
  2. IC: "I...do not think I do," Palma answered, looking at the pills, "I can inquire about getting some if they are that urgently needed by you." IC: Declared innocent of treachery by Tridax's decree, Burst, Doubt and Haken were shown the door by the Porters. They'd have to make their own way to the infirmary if they had any injuries to be cleared away though. Sidonas, a sad looking little kraata, remained. "That may be wise, loyal student. You may hear from me again if further such services are needed."
  3. IC: [Jorth - Training] "Maybe you should get your head down then, you've gone kind pale. Might be fatigue." IC: [Olari - Engineering] "That would be for the best, I'm going to have enough trouble carrying the telepath's mech." The one he was obstinately refusing to leave, simply because he couldn't be bothered... "And it leaves you free to catch anyone who falls if I get incapacitated." She led the band outside, where their newest member was still waiting. "Introductions will have to wait. Mostly because I don't your name, Mister Great Being. For now, Xara take to the sky, see if you can give us some cover using that gem of yours without it looking obvious. Everyone else, brace yourselves." She raised herself into the air, expanding her magnetic current outwards, increasing its radius and its power. Virse was the first to be lifted up by it, then Zakaro, and finally the Baterra Nui. The whole bizarre convoy was hoisted aloft on the will of one. "Virse, you're going to have to point the way. And I'd appreciate it if you could point quickly." IC: [Tuyetkhamun - Knowledge] "You are a fool for turning this aside, Rahkshi! A fool!" She looked back at the remaining two, Typhoeus and Constructman, "I take it you are still in?" IC: [Hollis - Muaka's Den] "Keeping yourself busy I see." The Turaga of white and gold approached Scriva, glancing askew at the words she had inscribed on her rock. "Good to have a hobby in here, or you go mad. I just wish they'd let me keep my garden..." IC: [skrall - Castle fo Kuru] The Skrall with no name listened patiently through Somnus' rambling excuse for a briefing. This was supposed to be his immediate superior? At least the dark Toa had some verve and agency. This one looked like he'd fall asleep before getting through the word "attention!" Clearly if he were to have any kind of advancement he'd have to kill this idle officer... "Did you have any...orders, sir?" he asked, not expecting Somnus to make so much as a polite request
  4. For it to be a fact it would have to be correct
  5. Something like that, yes. The sort of range where they could recover them if they get the chance Except Tridax never asked specifically for Doubt to be tortured, he let Grim pick. And his list of people to let go clearly includes Doubt, he's not holding onto him for more torture, because Grim and Sliver are letting him go. So Doubt hasn't been specially singled out in any way. He wasn't even the only one selected to be tortured, Haken was (supposed to be, anyway) getting interrogated by Draco. So if you're going to get passive-aggressive then could you at least get your facts straight, because your perpetual victim complex is getting real old
  6. That would be the sort of thing I'd need to approve beforehand, yes. And I'll allow this as long as you remember that Kanoka tend to lose a lot of power when you start forging them, and Fader's weren't very strong to begin with, so anything the telesword ports isn't going to wind up very far from its owner
  7. IC: [Olari - Engineering] The scouting team was all together. Virse, Xara, Zakaro, Olari herself, and their new psychic friend. Time to head out and take step one if making a difference. "We can cover ground faster if I give everyone a lift." Well everyone except Xara. The Rahkshi could fly on her own accord, a useful set of second eyes keeping watch on the skies. "Virse, could you recognise the route by air?" IC: [Tuyetkhamun - Knowledge] "And what exactly would you do, Rahkshi? Run out there, powers flashing, weapons blazing? You'd be dead in seconds. Most likely those cultists would pick you off before you got anywhere near them. You clearly don't have the fine grasp on strategy that I do." She looked at Draco as though he were a simple child, or perhaps something she had just trodden in, "This is why you need someone like me around, as plans are clearly not your forte."
  8. No level up, then? As has already been said, everyone who got off Visorak alive got a level up. Those were pretty much my exact words. I didn't give a list of names, I just decreed everyone who survived that assignment got a level up. Assuming you have decided to keep Silver and not have him perish like others on spider island then he'd also have received that reward
  9. IC: [Jorth - Training] "Maybe you should have a lie down," the Toa of flesh suggested, "When was the last time you slept?" IC: [Olari - Engineering] "Sorry about this. Our new psychic was insistent we leave now. Given Xara also seemed to be champing at the bit to do something I thought it best we go ahead and leave sooner rather than later." Hopefully they had food that could actually be boxed and carried... IC: [Tuyetkhamun - Knowledge] "If people wish to use the sector then they will have to pay for the privilege. We can request some payment in food if that is such a concern to you. I do not anticipate much resistance as we have not taken anything vital. Trying to seize the food, for example, would incur instant reprisals. This way we have time to grow in strength. We get more allies, we take more ground, and soon we will be a force to match the other cults on this island." It probably all sounded like a grand plan to Tuyetkhamun, too enamoured with her own reputation back in her home dimension to see all the flaws and problems that she'd need to overcome IC: [Venga - Engineering] "If thats before your time, how old must I be in your dimension...There's been no Makuta defeated since Miserix where I come from." Venga thought the implications over, "In your home I must be ancient. Or dead I suppose."
  10. IC: Palma looked round at Malattia. "Yes. Are you injured?"
  11. I think I mentioned at the time that we can assume he got onto the Crawler and back to the school. Unfair to strand him, which would essentially be murdering him, just because you weren't here
  12. Rahkshi are the Sons of Makuta after all. It even says in the OP that Tridax thinks giving them other genders is weird. He's not exactly the most sensitive of fellows is old man Tridax
  13. IC: [Olari - Engineering Exterior] "...fine. Please wait here while I collect them." The Puppetmaster's thoughtless arrogance made her head seethe. He could stand to be a little more considerate of the needs of others, not everyone had the same schedule has he did. If you could even call it a schedule, everyone was just doing their own thing these days. She was half-tempted to simply let him go and leave later without him but she was still certain a telepath would be useful. And Zakaro could eat on the way. So she drifted off to the larders of the Engineering sector to go fetch the rest of the team and let her irritation simmer down. "Zakaro, Virse, whatever you're eating, stick it in a box. We're heading out." IC: [Jorth - Training] "Looking a bit peaky there, friend. Need a snack? I could rustle you up some steak tartare."
  14. IC: Magnetic bands of force pulled Haken and Draco apart from each other, then pulled Draco towards Tridax. "This one called Vitesse. You known him, you will find him and bring him here." He looked over to the likes of Doubt, being slowly battered to pieces by Grim and Sliver, and Burst, standing equally terrified and confused, eying over these suspected traitors who mat have been the victims of circumstance they claimed to be. "Let them go. But hold onto the ones that were brought here as kraata, our witness may not have recognised them out of armour." OOC: Before anyone brings it up, yes I know Vitesse is female, but Tridax doesn't. Knew someone would bring it up if I didn't clarify
  15. IC: [Tuyetkhamun - Knowledge] "Very well. 'Help' it shall be. My first...request, shall be the complete lockdown of this sector. We shall make it our base of operations, and extend our control outwards from here." The mummy started walking off. "Follow. We shall find all the entrances and seal them. None shall enter that do not have our permit." IC: [Olari - Engineering Exterior] "Excellent. Come inside then, the rest of our party is gathering in the food court, regaining our strength before the journey. I am guessing since you are returning from another venture you could do with a similar recuperation period." Olari started back into the facility, heading for the food court to meet up with the rest of the scout mission IC: [Jorth - Training] "Well, not all of it. There were some supplies and rations left," Jorth admitted, "I've just been helping beef them up. Sometimes literally, I can mimic Mukau beef steak fairly well apparently." IC: [Venga - Engineering] "I dunno, I never did put much stock in Mata Nui's rule," Venga admitted, "I was never entirely sure what he was doing. If he was doing anything. At least with Makuta you know they're there. And when they're royally ticked off at you." IC: [skrall - Castle fo Kuru] "I have no questions, Lord, I merely wish to offer you my sword as I offered it to the traitor before you." Skrall answered, bending down on one knee, unsheathing his blade and resting it on his upraised poleyn. "I hope to serve you better than the upstart Aiolos did."
  16. Seem a bit...cliched but nothing actually wrong so approved
  17. I believe it was instituted as a rule (like, an actual proper rule, written down and everything) on the old forums after one too many incidents of exactly what Eyru describes; a host vanishing and their RPG becoming dead in the water. It just hasn't made it to these forums because...well, none of the rules have. We've just got a couple of placeholder posts. Someone should really get working on that...
  18. If the fighting is supposed to be taking place around Horizon, it might be a good idea to add some information about what the area around Horizon is like. I'm assuming its not going to be particularly lush and verdant since a continent got snapped in half relatively nearby, and that its going to be somewhere equatorial since I believe thats where mass drivers work best. Would sort of help to know if the terrain is desert or mountainous or swampy or whatever. That and the co-host bit are minor issues though so Breaking Point Approved [x2]
  19. First off, co-host? Pretty sure you said you had one in Planning but I'd prefer a mention in the actual RPG. Second...I can't help but feel the mechs don't actually fit into this mech game. They're big stompy war machines but there's no war. It seems to be something of a Cold War scenario where there's a lot of espionage and politicking between Federation and Union, and not a lot of need for shooting things with guns the size of buses. Even when the war does inevitably break out the fact that we're locked in Horizon suggests less grand orbital dogfight and more tight urban combat. You try putting 20ft tall mechs into urban combat the city's going to be levelled within minutes. It's like there were two ideas here, one for a game where the mechs were more early-stage exoskeletons and another that went full Gundam, and the result is like trying to squeeze a foot into a shoe a few sizes too small
  20. IC: Tridax opened the door to his office a little wider and took a step to the side, giving Char a clearer look at the occupants loyal and rebel both. "And of the others? They have cast suspicion on themselves by stepping in to defend known traitors, do you recognise them as part of your conspiracy?"
  21. Well my idle suggestion of "hey, what if we stuck this idea on a train" seemed to go down quite well, so I'm going to keep floating my thoughts about see what else people like. The one I've got right now is a vague concept more based around how I picture the locations than any story. Essentially you play as a character who has died in Metru Nui, and since the Red Star isn't working properly you're now stuck in a kind of purgatory afterlife where the city has gone all twisted and Silent Hill on you. Ga-Metru is covered with rust and mould (since it purified in the live world this is what happened to all the impurities 'killed' there), Ko-Metru looks much the same except the Knowledge towers follow you when you're not looking and pull the thoughts from your head if they catch you, Le-Metru is one big blur where nothing is really clear and if you touch a time-frozen vehicle it will send you flying, Onu-Metru I thought maybe make it out of cobwebs (a literal Fikou's Web now, haha) where you never can tell quite whats inside that cocoon you've just found, Po-Metru would be a formless void that only takes on detail in the immediate area you're in and everything else is just vaguely brown mist filled with whispers, while Ta-Metru would be made of faces as every building and street is now a Kanohi that broke or never got made. Like I said, no idea what the story or goals would be. Maybe the players are trying to find a way out, maybe there's enemies out there somewhere, I don't know. I just got the idea for dark world Ta-Metru and started envisaging what the rest of the city would be like
  22. IC: [Olari - Engineering Exterior] "We're going on a scouting mission and could use the help of a psychic." Since she didn't want to waste time going round and round with questions, Olari went on to explain the whole situation, "One of our number, Virse, has discovered a sort of prison compound in the Spine mountains. We're intending to give it a closer look, see what defences it has, what guards watch its walls, how many prisoners it holds. I feel a psychic would be invaluable, to possibly check on what minds you could pick up on inside the complex, keep the rest of us in telepathic contact, and if needs be to get word back here should the rest of us fall in battle. That last situation is unlikely, this is intended to be reconnaissance not a raid, but there is the possibility we will be discovered and attacked. At the moment the team consists of myself, the Rahkshi Xara, Virse and hopefully Toa Zakaro. Can we count you in as well?" IC: [Jorth - Training] "I'll settle for awe-inspired. Unless you're a vegan its been me padding out the surviving rations for the last couple of weeks," Jorth puffed his chest out in a parody of pride, "There's been fewer grumbling bellies thanks to me and my meat."
  23. IC: [Jorth - Training] "Sure can. Boop." A thick steak of...steak materialised out of thin air, bounced off Miril's shoulder and flopped to the ground. "Ta-daa! Between me, Zephyr's vegetable garden and that Steltian chef guy we can fix up quite a banquet." IC: [Olari - Engineering] "A moment of your time!" Olari called out to Puppetmaster, floating towards the cockpit of his mech on magnetic currents, "Virse tells me you are a telepath, and I have need of someone with that talent."
  24. IC: "No, leave him alive. For now," Tridax sighed as he answered Grim, "However I wish to see if his ignorance is merely a veneer or if it goes all the way down. So just rough him up, either his pretence will break...or his carapace will. One or both of those options suits me." His head tilted to the side slightly, listening to something only he could hear. "Excuse me a moment." He went to the door, opening it up and shooing the Porters aside to reach Char. "That would be interesting and valuable information. What are your suspicions?"
