  1. IC: [Jorth - Training] "Nor mine. Amazing what things I've had to learn here." He went from admiring his work to looking at Miril, "You know I've become a fairly decent chef? Being able to create meat is one thing, getting people to eat it without gagging takes preparation." IC: [Olari - Engineering] "We need you to keep your strength up, and for that you need more than the Pakari you wear. Eat well and meet us back here when you are ready." Olari looked at the mech Virse had pointed out, her mask zooming in on it, trying to get a look at the pilot, "I need to have a word with a potential telepath..." IC: [Venga - Engineering] "Well not drop dead, thats for sure." Venga said, huffing with indignation, "Everyone has a purpose in life, and I refuse to believe anyone's is to die for the convenience of someone else." IC: [skrall - Castle fo Kuru] Was this another test? It seemed unlikely that someone who was avatar to a fear god would flee in terror in the manner of a coward. Were they just supposed to blindly trust this being? He did hold what was apparently one of those "Infinite Gem" things that seemed to crop up occasionally back before the Bionifight crash, it could have given him the edge. And it could also be used as an excuse should this be an actual rebellion and it ended in failure. If asked by a victorious Maeus why they had served an upstart rebel, it wasn't their fault, a gem to instil fear without limit had been used on them. It probably wouldn't work, given what Skrall had seen of Maeus so far, but it could be worth an attempt. Which was probably more than saying no to Aiolos could achieve. He could hardly let any of them go free after telling of his plan to overthrow and replace the Herald of Fear, and would most likely kill anyone who refused to go along. With these odds weighed, Skrall did what he thought was best. He kneeled. IC: [Tuyetkhamun - Knowledge] "I do not think spies are much in the mind of these other cultists," the God-Queen pointed out, "They just take what they want. However I am still extending trust to the three of you in offering you this...alliance. Are you going to accept my offer?"
  2. Profile, profile, prisoner prisoner profile! Name: Hollis Species: Turaga Inika Faction: Prisoners Power/Weapon 1: Elemental Power over Light. Naturally this is only at Turaga strength, but thats nothing to be sniffed at if you know how to use it. It helps that his element is entwined with elemental lightning whenever he uses it, giving a rather literal shock value to his powers. He cannot use the lightning by itself, or control other sources of electricity in any way, its just an added effect to his normal light powers. Power/Weapon 2: Noble Faxon. Allows Hollis to replicate the powers of Rahi that share the specific environment he is in. Power/Weapon 3: The inherent Av-type ability to link with another being (be they Toa, Makuta, Skakdi, Vortixx, etc…), unlocking a secondary power and sharing memories through physical contact. Hollis’ Av-Power is the gift of Clarity. Whoever he is linked with is filled with a sense of purpose and agency, cutting through any sense of despair or melancholy they may be suffering under. It also cuts through any psychic shenanigans, such as mind control or psionics-induced illusions (but only those kind of illusions, it would have no effect on someone using a Mahiki or directly manipulating light), and negates any drugs that may be affecting the target. Clarity counters anything that might be altering the target's state of consciousness, essentially Appearance: Short and crook-backed like all Turaga, he has the distinct white-and-gold coloration of his kind. Only the two tones have a marbling effect going, where they dance and play around each other, entwining in formless patterns rather than the normal one on top of the other armour plating. His Turaga robes, draped over his hunchback and shoulders, aren’t any one colour but all seven. He had them tie-dyed with all the colours of the rainbow, the brash array contrasting heavily with his simplistic, if irregular, armour. The mask he wears maintains its Great Faxon appearance though he has had the lenses on the eyeholes smoked to turn them into sunglasses, the same as when he bore the mask as a Toa. It better protects his eyes from his own power, and in his opinion does look kind of cool. Bio: The universe that Hollis was taken from is one of a similar nature to Voya Nui; a lone island in an endless beset by hazardous terrain, toxic environments, vicious Rahi and more than a few roving bandits. And then hope descended from the skies in the form of a lightning bolt, striking the Matoran known as Hollis. Believed to be a Ko-Matoran, everyone was surprised when he was revealed as a Toa of Light not Ice, and surprise quickly turned to wonder as Hollis put his new powers to use. Terrain? Levelled. Environments? Scoured. Rahi? Driven away. Bandits? Wiped out. Hollis may have had the powers of light but he was ruthless and merciless in using them, often causing a lot of collateral damage and unnecessary destruction in his efforts. So it was that when he had finally made the island from a purgatory to a paradise he was…quietly pushed into creating Toa stones, passing on his power and legacy to six others. After bringing changes that rocked the island to its foundations when he was a Toa, he became both Turaga and hermit. He set himself up in a small cabin away from the island’s one village, living out his days in peace just tending to his garden. Then the Heralds came and his village quickly found themselves wanting for Hollis’ old firebrand tactics, their second-generation Toa having no experience in or taste for combat. They were summarily dispatched and the survivors, including Hollis, were captured and brought to the prisons of Hevias Personality/Other: Though originally a man of action who just powered through any problem in his way, Hollis has mellowed considerably in the years he spent as a Turaga. Now he takes a much more “live-and-let-live” approach to life, willing to listen more, and compromise if needs be
  3. Tridax doesn't pronounce anyone's name right. You can count the times he's actually referred to people by name on one hand, he normally just calls everyone "student" or "Rahkshi"
  4. IC: [Olari - Engineering] Sadly, Zakaro's rest was not to last. He had barely closed his eyes when Olari started gently poking him with her toes. "Awaken Sir Zakaro, we have need of you." She had never known anyone, Matoran or Toa, who seemed to love his sleep as much as the earth Toa did. Hopefully he was well-rested enough to join the mission with the rest of them. They needed Competent Warrior Zakaro right now, not Rambling Philosopher Zakaro... IC: [Jorth - Training] "Wasn't it? Much less of a chore than having to do it by yourself." Jorth looked around, trying to spot something that was missing. "Think we could add anything else? Everyone has been so obsessed with getting the arena working that they've neglected home comforts. I think we could make the stay here more bearable if we just added a few minor luxuries." IC: [skrall - Castle fo Kuru] Skrall said nothing, as was his way, but sided with the two women. He was here to give his arms and services to the one in charge, the king of fear, not some seneschal. He wanted the organ-grinder not the monkey, and wasn't going to settle for anything less than fo Kuru himself IC: [Venga - Engineering] "Pah, we are Rahkshi," Venga retorted, "Cheating should be but second nature to us!"
  5. IC: "Only one that I know of. Cootchuck or something such. We shall track him down later. But first..." He cast his smouldering-coal eyes over the collected 'traitors', his gaze unnervingly intense. "I allow you many liberties while you are at this academy. You are allowed to spend most of your days as you wish, you can talk with who you wish, study what you wish. I even tolerate the ridiculous notions of companionship and love several of you have developed. It interests me. But what I cannot allow is treachery. We had enough trouble when our Hagah teams revolted, can you imagine if our Rahkshi followed suit. Especially ones with your collective promise. So I cannot allow you to practice open rebellion, it would be the antithesis of everything Corpus Rahkshi stands for. So, how about we do this the easy way and you all tell me what you know about your fellow conspirators?"
  6. Fixed. Also made a personal memo to rein in my weakness for extravagantly awesome weapons, at least while RPing. Just wondering, is Sepulchral approved now, or does he need more changes? Sorry, thought I'd answered this. Yes, Sepulchral is approved It would capable of that, yes. I believe I had Suvak use magma to write out the questions for that essay assignment, and that was in the library. Gym is much more versatile and should be able to handle it
  7. IC: [Olari - Engineering] "I see...It might be best to simply find Zakaro and be on our way then. If we all get separated looking for someone who might not even be here then we'll never leave." Olari started heading towards Engineering's exit to the Wailing Cliffs beyond. She knew Zakaro was on gate duty there, he'd be easy to track down. No sense waiting for a psychic or a stealther who might never turn up. "Though, if we do happen to run into a telepath on the way, try to snag 'em. I still think they'd be a useful addition." IC: [Jorth - Training] With the three (no, four, no five!) of them working at it, they soon had enough of the basket-houses to cover a decent space. They were a bit...lopsided and more than a little pre-broken in some places, but as they were being put up inside there was no worry about rain. Jorth started putting them up around the training pods, where the machinery should keep them warm. No substitute for real rooms, but they'd do for giving people a little private space, something that was sorely lacking at the moment IC: [Tuyetkhamun - Knowledge] By the stars and thunders, was everyone who actually got close enough to fall victim to her power going to be immune to her power! This just wasn't fair! Try to make the best of it, try to make the best of it... "You could learn from this one, Rahkshi. We're all in the same boat, a little trust goes a long way. And speaking of which, it is trust I am offering to you all. I am looking for friends to trust and advisors to keep close. I need..." Slaves? Henchmen? Meatshields? "...friends." IC: [Venga - Engineering] "Not cheating, my dear, simply using what options were available to me." His flight adaptions were already starting to wear off, now he was down on the ground and slowed up, "I cannot help it if I'm just that good." IC: [skrall - Castle fo Kuro] "I..." He had no fancy title like Dajik. Or land to his name. Even if he had land it couldn't be to his name because he didn't actually have one of those either. But...he was what he was. "I am Skrall."
  8. Given Fader's Kanoka are at power setting four, not enough to make even a noble Kanohi if you were to turn them to masks, I doubt they'll be sending someone to the other side of the planet. I think they'd have trouble sending someone to the other side of the island. And for the record, Sergei, yes there was. Le-Metru's Great Disk was a teleporter
  9. IC: Grim's intimidation was clearly as effective as his actual torture techniques, as Doubt's resistance crumbled like a dam made of sand. Tridax was about to try prising secrets from his head when Sliver returned with her prize. "Excellent. I believe between you and your winged friend you have chased down the last of the traitors. I suggest waking them and seeing what information you can wrangle out of them. Seeing each other in pain, their hopes dashed, should loosen their tongues." He was giving Draco and Sliver an open invitation to begin torturing their captives...
  10. IC: [Olari - Engineering] "We may have to go find some then. The only one I recall is that one from War Games, the one with the tentacles. But I'm not sure how useful he actually is." From from she remembered of Kelatin he'd have enough trouble just getting around the mountains, let alone acting as a mobile mission hub. "Any ideas, Virse?" IC: [Jorth - Training Sector] "...okay, time for a little basket making one-oh-one. Gather round my students and I shall tell you a tale..." The flesh-Toa started explaining and demonstrating some of the basic principles of weaving. Where exactly he had picked these skills up was left unsaid. An interesting life as a Matoran, probably IC: [Tuyetkhamun - Knowledge Sector] "That is...generally what this action indicates." A thousand biting retorts welled up inside the God-Queen's mind. She bit them all down. No comment about leaving his brains in his other armour, no mention of how he had possibly drooled out all his manners. Such brutal honesty had been getting her nowhere so far. She'd just have to save them for later when this oaf was slaved to her and she could point out his obvious flaws with impunity. "So...are we to continue with the courteous introductions?" She offered her hand again IC: [skrall - City of Fear] The thunder and the walls were no worry for someone who had grown and lived amongst the Black Spike Mountains. But Skrall was still twitchy. Dayeth was behind him and he kept wanted to glance back to check she wasn't doing anything...eldritch IC: [Venga - Engineering Sector] Landing outside engineering with a solid thump, skidding along the ground slightly until his blocky feet caught traction, Venga looked back at his defeated foe. "You snooze you loose Venix!"
  11. IC: [Knowledge Sector] "A place," Tuyetkhamun hissed, responding to Constructman while keeping her hand out to Draco. She was banking on a Rahkshi being naturally subservient to the will of a Makuta to aid her in her efforts to control him. "A purpose. A promise." IC: [Engineering Sector] Olari looked over Xara for a second, "You're eager to do something. You're a walking powerhouse. You've got a gem that creates cover. You can fly under your own power without me to carry you. I'm going to ask if you want in, and I'm guessing you're going to say yes." She thought over other possible candidates. "I'd like to take Zakaro along. More muscle in case we run into something nasty, and he could sense something in the earth that might be cloaked from my sight. That takes us up to four. Six is the usual number for teams, if I remember the histories, so we need two more. I'm thinking someone who is good at stealth, who might be able to get close, and a psychic. Someone who could co-ordinate us telepathically or transmit our findings back here in case we fall in battle. Either of you two have any suggestions?" IC: [City of Fear] Skrall treated Dayeth the same way he would one of his Sister breed. Looking away, averting his eyes. Not meeting her gaze. She was...something more now. Something eldritch and unknown and horrible and wanted her to go away go away go away! His fingers twitched, casting droplets of Sharky onto the ground. But the chill of Dayeth's new mantle was enough to freeze even his muscles. Quelling his thirst for battle and blood, the Skrall with no name did his best to put Dayeth out of sight and out of mind, following the Matoran's lead into the fortress
  12. Would it work if I got rid of one or two redundancies and clarified that the blades aren't homing projectiles? Yeah that would be better, something a little less sci-fi. Sounds weird in a RPG about slugs made of solidified negativity running around in power armour with magic powers, I know, but I'd prefer a weapon that didn't look like it had come from the more extravagant end of the Star Wars EU Sort of a combination of the two? She removes the ends yes, but the 'staff' bit doesn't vanish. She either drops it or stores it, retrieving it later. Works for me. Blue is approved Approved
  13. IC: Olari thought for a moment. "Virse, do you think you could find your way there again? I have an Akaku, I could probably scout out any buried or internal defences the place has. I'd just need you to show me where it is."
  14. IC: "Any time, Legs." Turbo's salute turned into a cheery wave, "And you think harder about giving up general-ing, you hear!" IC: "To talk." The self-proclaimed god-queen sidled a little closer. "To offer." She held out a hand to shake, a simple offer of trust. Or at least it would have been, had marks of control not been slithering all over the wrappings of her hand, hidden in the shadows that Tuyetkhamun had submerged herself in
  15. IC: Doubt did not need to turn to know that Tridax was there. The Makuta radiated a kind of...not darkness exactly, but a sort of calculated indifference. Something vast in its iciness, a glacier of apathy. "The Rahkshi you were attempting to defend was a traitor, plotting a rebellion. His dreams were but a feeble drizzle, easily broken and ignored. For entertaining such notions, however, he has been executed. You may recognise him on your superior's shoulder there. We can avoid giving him a matching set if you'd just open your mind and tell us the truth."
  16. IC: Jorth briefly raised an eye at the splitting, but it was hardly the weirdest thing he'd seen in this tournament. Or on this island. Or even in his homeland... "Now I've gathered enough wood to start my own forest, thought I'd start making huts. Well, more big nests really. Twist and weave all the branches together until they make something to sleep in. Though I'd dot 'em around here since the VR pods should help keep things warm." IC: Turbo braked, steadily coming to a halt just in front of Zakaro and his newly formed tunnel. "I thank you good sir. I have heard tipping is suppose to be customary but I don't know what that is and don't think you'd appreciate being knocked over." She saluted instead, it seemed only fair, her one humanoid arm knocking against her forehead. IC: "I would not risk an all out assault of the prison just yet," Olari chimed in, "Unless Virse has more information on what kind of guards, fortifications and traps lay outside, and what the layout inside might be like. Otherwise the risk is too high of walking into a bloodbath." It may have been an overly defensive mind-set, and perhaps Xara would have a few choice words towards it given her earlier complaints, but Olari didn't believe in rushing into things. Rushing got you overwhelmed by a Bohrok swarm that was all too happy to rush you back... IC: A figure swaddled in bandages, face hidden behind an immobile mask snuck up on the trio of Construct, Draco and Typhoeus, sticking to the shadows to try and...hide? Possibly, but she was doing a bad job of it. Tuyetkhamun's idea of being inconspicuous was making her even more conspicuous than normal. "Hey. Any of you three feel like talking?" IC: Skrall had been about to continue his butchery, the unabating fear driving him to strike out at enemies he could see as though that would help against the ones he couldn't. Dayeth's stream of freezing flames drove him back though, but his eyes glared at her with glowing malice
  17. ...not really. Still overly elaborate, and kind of makes me think "surely the nearest person for them to impale is Sepulchral himself?"
  18. Seems fair enough, but I will be watching see Captain Rahkmerica here's powers don't get abused Post has been edited. I originally said he had to restock on Kanoka since in the gen 1 story, kanoka lost their powers when used too often. Fader approved Wait, you're talking about the Raptor/Phantom fight, yes? Not a particularly good comparison, given it was implied Phantom's swords were all kinds of crazy sharp. The fact that he grew them out his arms should have been some clue to them not being normal blades Sounds like a stupid question, but whats a breakdown staff? Just a staff she can snap in half to use as the boomerangs? Or did you just mean the way the Rahkshi can apparently make the hafts of their staffs vanish leaving just the blades at the end? I can't really allow Sepulchral's knuckle-dusters. A weapon that cuts you up mind and body seems a bit OTT for what would be allowed at Corpus Rahkshi. Beat, on the other hand, is approved
  19. Given its likely such an RP would be run by a pair or team of GMs it shouldn't be too difficult to do. Have one focus on coming up with new towns and locations maybe, or just have them alternate who's coming up with the locale on each stop
  20. Sticking with the western theme, how about instead of setting it on random troubled town #34981 you set it on a train? Keeping things more confined than an entire desert should prevent players spreading out and allow a bit more interaction, you can have challenges brought in as the environment and change (oh no, a band of rogue Frostelus/Vorox/Assorted bandits are attacking!), maybe have some central mystery to keep people ticking over (what is kept in the guarded rear carriage that no-one is allowed to enter?) that can simply be replaced with a new one at the next stop after the players solve it... Why yes, I have been re-reading Cherie Priest's book Dreadnaught lately, why do you ask?
  21. IC: "Very well. You have proven to be a capable interrogator so I will leave the methods of persuasion up to you. You may begin..." Tridax closed his eyes. Not strictly speaking necessary for telepathy, but he found cutting off visual stimuli to be an effective means to concentrate. His mental presence started to push its way into Doubt's mind. "...now."
  22. Yeah, I'm going to echo Rahkmaninoff, MCGPY. Kind of feels like you haven't read the first post as throughly as you could, since Palma is clearly listed as a character there Pill might be better, if only because they're easier to store and take. I don't think Palma would have any to hand, but might start getting them if there was a greater need for them. Is this serum always on? I assumed it was a thing that needed to be activated, but is it always boosting Malattia's stats? Do they need to be constantly doping themselves on adrenaline then, or does that only kick in if they start pushing themselves above and beyond their normal limits?
  23. You know you can re-use Kanoka disks right? You'd just have to retrieve them from wherever you fired them Also, he doesn't need espionage to find out about Corpus Rahkshi, its common knowledge amongst the Makuta. Tridax writes them reports and everything Could I get more information on what this serum does? How much faster and stronger than normal does it make Malattia? How quickly does it start to negatively impact them? How would they be getting more adrenaline to replace the syringes they use
  24. A'ight, Snap is approved then
