  1. O Captain! my Captain! our fearful trip is done,

    The ship has weather'd every rack, the prize we sought is won,

    The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,

    While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring;

    But O heart! heart! heart!

    O the bleeding drops of red,

    Where on the deck my Captain lies,

    Fallen cold and dead.

    O Captain! my Captain! rise up and hear the bells;

    Rise up--for you the flag is flung--for you the bugle trills,

    For you bouquets and ribbon'd wreaths--for you the shores a-crowding,

    For you they call, the swaying mass, their eager faces turning;

    Here Captain! dear father!

    This arm beneath your head!

    It is some dream that on the deck,

    You've fallen cold and dead.

    My Captain does not answer, his lips are pale and still,

    My father does not feel my arm, he has no pulse nor will,

    The ship is anchor'd safe and sound, its voyage closed and done,

    From fearful trip the victor ship comes in with object won;

    Exult O shores, and ring O bells!

    But I with mournful tread,

    Walk the deck my Captain lies,

    Fallen cold and dead.

    .....Evan Jameston, famed and acclaimed "and acclaimed" = unnecessary writer, puffed away pensively at a pipe as his fingers clattered away on an old typewriter. He came to the end of the page, but before removing the milky milky? no parchment, he looked out the window next to his maple desk. The clouds had been swelling up not swelling up. growing, maybe?, and if it weren’t for his clock he would have never never have guessed it was nearly four in the afternoon. Without his two lamps, the room would have been in almost complete darkness the room would have been almost completely dark.

    .....Moments later, droplets began to tap upon the glass plane of the window as if they desired entrance into the smoky room from "as" up to "room" is unnecessary and sounds strange. The pairs of when were they ever pairs? remove "pairs of" droplets soon multiplied into scores. The noise describe the noise resounded reverberated sounds better through the room as the beads simultaneously hit the glass as the rain hit the glass. enough with not being straightforward with it. The loud clap of thunder was followed by a yellow dagger piercing the sky the loud clap of thunder succeeded a yellow rift in the sky. (thunder comes after lightning, not before).

    .....Turning his attention back to the typewriter redrawing his attention to the typewriter, he took out the piece of paper he removed the ink-clad paper and hastily read it over reviewed it before crumpling it up into a ball and lobbing it into the waste basket on the side of his desk before balling it up and throwing it into the trash can beside his desk. (using typical words like "throw" are completely fine--no need to find a synonymous term), already half-full from the remove "the" other various pages he had thrown away today that day. ("today" changes the tense), making little-to-no progress since the night before.

    This is all I could get done, since it's so late. I'll do the rest tomorrow.

  3. Games:

    It all comes down to taste here. The PS3 is more for platform games and single-player campaigns whilst the 360 is more for shooter/war simulator games. Mind you, the PS3 does still offer many well-received shooters/war simulators. This works vice-versa, too: the 360 offers a few well-received platform/single-player campaign games. Most of 360's game lineup consists of T or M-rated titles, while the PS3 is more universal about ratings and age compatibility. Since you have a little brother [whose age I do not know, so correct me if I'm wrong (I'm going to say this based on the inquiry that your brother is under 13 or so)], 360 games (of which a majority are M-rated) would be unsuitable for him.

    Hardware:

    Since the PS3 offers Blu-Ray disc compatibility, you not only have a very decent gaming console, but also a high-definition movie/DVD player. Xbox's HDDVD drive was deemed obsolete because of its high price tag and failure to meet Blu-Ray's standards. The PS3 utilizes a 2.5 inch SATA Laptop Hard Drive, but already comes standard with 120 GB of storage. The Xbox also comes with a 120 GB model, but if you wish to upgrade the hard Drive, you are going to have to buy at most a 250 GB XBox exclusive hard drive, which runs for a little over $100. Whereas, for the same price, you can purchase a 500 GB SATA hard drive to upgrade your PS3. The PS3's hard drive is easily exchangable and the licensed manual even shows how to do it, while the XBox is fairly straightforward in the fact that you can't manually insert your own SATA hard drive.

    Wireless Capability:

    The PS3 comes standard with built-in WiFi connectivity, whereas with the Xbox, you will have to buy a separate ethernet cable to connect with your modem, or a wireless adapter, which retails for $99.99. The PS3 includes an internet browser at no extra charge, whilst the XBox doesn't have a browser.

    Online Play:

    The PS3 offers a free online play system known as PSN: PlayStation Network. The Xbox offers Xbox Live, an online experience deemed superior to PSN, yet it runs for $50 a year.

    Social Networking:

    Every PS3 and XBox comes standard with Facebook, Twitter, and that Space (;P) applications. These applications are directly accessible through the XMB: XrossMediaBar (Don't ask why it's an "X" :P ).

    Personal Preference:

    The PS3 and the XBox, while having almost the same components internally, differ aesthetically. For one, the PS3 at first had a shiny black finish, with the words "PLAYSTATION 3" printed across it. The Xbox, on the other hand, is considered sleek, with little to no pointy edges. The PS3, in October 2009, unveiled its "Slim" upgraded model, which shed nearly 3 pounds off the original model and decreased its form factor. The new Slim model also abandoned its shiny fingerprint-prone casing for a charcoal-black matte finish, with the word "PS3" imprinted on its side. The PS3's controller is a slightly upgraded version of its PS2 "Dualshock 2" controller in that it incorporates a new technology known as SIXAXIS, which enables motion-sensitive capabilities, similar to those of the Wii remote controller. Also, it loses the "Analog" indicator button and replaces it with a PS Home button, and when clicked brings up the XMB. Also, the R2/L2 have lost their simple click functionality and were replaced with "triggers," allowing them to be pressed slowly and further back, similar to a gun trigger, but they still retain the same function in-game. The XBox controller is the exact same thing as the PS3 controller; the fact that the left analog stick and directional buttons are inverted makes for the only difference between the two controllers. Fanboys of system frequently state that the XBox is far more comfortable than the PS3 controller, and I must respectfully agree, though, being a PS user for the past 4 years, I am accustomed to the Dualshock layout. XBox offers two different controllers, one being a wireless controller, and the other being a wired controller. People prefer the wireless, so long as they can bear with replacing the wireless controller's double-A batteries every now and again. The PS3, on the other hand, contains a lithium-ion battery and uses a generic USB to mini-USB cable to charge it up. You can find these cords for as cheap as 10 cents on sites like Amazon and eBay. XBox also offers the Play and Charge kit, similar to the PS3's charging cable, but this one is console exclusive, and the cheapest you will find it is $30.

    Backwards Compatibility:

    The PS3's first generation models (60GB and 20GB) supported full PS2 and PS1 Backwards compatibility, but more recent models have stripped the PS2 compatibility while retaining PS1 compatibility. Note that select PS1 titles are available for full download over the PSN. The XBox features backwards compatibility with just over 480 selected XBox games.

    Console Accessories:

    Both systems are able to stream NetFlix via a Live Streaming disc. The good thing about PS3 is that it utilizes Bluetooth wireless technology, and instead of buying specific console accessories, you can purchase any generic Bluetooth headset for use during online play. Any generic 2.5mm headset is compatible the XBox controller. The XBox also offers an exclusive wireless headset, which is also compatible with a Windows computer via an adapter. The XBox controller can also work with this adapter for use of Windows PC Games. The XBox and PS3 both offer messaging kits that consist of a miniature QWERTY keyboard that can be mounted to the system's controllers. While the XBox's controller receives the keyboard on the underside, where your palms would be, the PS3 controller receives it from the top, where the shoulder buttons (R1, R2, L1, L2) are located.

  4. Watchmen wasn't horrible. It's just that it's incredibly difficult to capture the sheer beauty of Alan Moore's works in a motion picture environment. The two just don't fit together well in a sentence.

    If you didn't compare it to the graphic novel (which you honestly shouldn't do, since the movie was basically entirely different from the graphic novel) and looked at it as a standalone movie, it was pretty extraordinary.

  5. After not watching it for 3 years (I'm thankful for the 1-hour recap they did for us :P ), I'm completely in love with it now. I mean, the storyline is incredible, and even if it is just something this small, J.J. Abrams has such a good way of making it seem like it's much, much larger. And that's impressing.

    And it was confusing. :dazed:
