  1. "They begin to play?" What kind of title is that?

But anyway, I love your entry. I'll try to review it sometime.

    - :vahi:

I can tell you have not done the subjunctive yet :P The title reads "Let the games begin!" "They begin" would be "incipiunt" and ludi is not an infinitive, since there's no deponent verb "ludor." Thus ludi is a noun and must be the subject as it is not in the accusative so the subject is not substantive, and therefore the games are the ones that are beginning. And for future reference, subjunctive is translated as "let" or "may" until you get to indirect statements, indirect questions, result clauses, etc.

Of course, I did the same thing when I tried one of ToM's little messages, before I got to the subjuctive.

    Biomech... *shakes head*

YES, it IS Comic Sans. I was LYING in the image.

Oh! Sorry. I was being stupid. I wasn't paying attention to what mood it was in, and was even stupider with "ludi".

Yes, I've learned the subjunctive, being in Latin III, although mylack of observation would say otherwise :P . I go very in depth when studying Latin. For my performance at the Latin Banquet (an awesome event our school holds each year for Latin classes), I translated a whole episode of Spongebob into Latin. Granted, my translation was sketchy at best, and the people I recruited to perform it weren't very reliable (They forgot their scripts, failed to make costumes, and were terrible at Latin pronunciation.) Still, it was the first large text that I translated into Latin.

This year, my project is a bit more practical (and easier to get good help for). I have translated a good portion of the song American Pie into Latin. Once it's done to a greater extent I'll post it in my blog, but one stanza is giving me particular trouble.

    Omnibus meritis cum observantiā,

  2. It took me forever to learn your name wasn't Anichar, because then it fits more with Lyichir.

An easy way to remember is that both of our names end in "chir," which is the generic Rachira suffix. These names are probably the best names either Lyichir or myself has come up with.

You'll probably be able to remember better when (or if <_< ) Lyichir continues his epic.

  3. Congrats Anchair, you deserve it.

Please, Please try to spell my name right. I know it's hard to type, but it was Lyichir's idea. At least my name is pronounceable. I'm glad you think I deserve it, though. I am pleased with how easily I actually CGed this entry. It was probably easier because I scanned it right after I inked it, and took extra care in inking it.

Note, -Aero-, I don't have lemon drizzle cake but I do have lemon flavoured snowcones, will they do?

    Lemon... snow... cones... :drooling:

Great job Aanchir, I wish I won, but hey we'll all have a chance.

You sure will. After all, as the new Lemon Club Leader, I can help -Aero- and Bundalings come up with more contests like this, although there will probably be at least a few weeks before the next one. Maybe in April, or later in March.

Have a Lemon Pie on me.

Congrats Aanchir! Your Limona was awesome and defenitly deserves the win!

I'm glad you liked it! Your entry was good as well!

congrats! wow yours was good. is there going to be another lemon club chalenge?

I liked your entry as well... In fact, I was thinking that it might win! About more Lemon Club Challenges-- You bet there'll be more! Until then, I look forward to seeing many more wonderful MOCs from you!

Pfft, I could've won it with my mouse tied behind my back. I just chose not to enter. =D

=O Oh my. Miobiomechbech is in the Lemon Club, isn't he? That should make things interesting.

I'm glad to be getting so many compliments! Feel free to review my entry in its topic!

  4. Wow! I never expected a prize so great! It's like... Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! Only it's really Aanchir and the Lemon Factory!

A Lemon Factory... now that would be some prize.

But you and Bundalings will still show up to help me out, right? I'm not sure I can lead the Lemon Club all by myself. I know you'll still have to be a leader, Aero, because the official Lemon Club entry is in your blog.

Thank you, Aero and Bundalings, for bestowing this honor upon me! I'll try to be the best leader I can be!

    With all due respect,

    Lemony Aanchir

Oh yes, we'll always be here. Have you seen the content block? <- 70 members. 3 leaders. We could take over the world!

    Or not. -A

I know you'll be here; I just want to be sure you won't just dump a lot of responsibility on me without sharing some of the workload. Of course, I know you better than that. :P

Oh, man, lemon drizzle cake? That would have been a good prize as well. Often during the winter I get to have this gingerbread cake with lemon icing... It's awesome.

EDIT: Goon prize? I meant "a good prize." :P

  5. I thought you looked pretty in that dress. Of course, that's just my opinion.

I'm glad my art is "spiffy as ever"-- I just got promoted to Lemon Club Leader for it! :happydance:

For old black-and-white movies, I'd recommend Citizen Kane. It's an amazing story, and I believe it's credited with having the best cinematography (that means filming techniques, camera angles, and the like) of any film, or was credited with that at some point.

Anyway, so long! I hope I'll be able to submit pictures of Aanchir's face (I know. I just had to give myself the name of someone without a normal mask <_< ).

  7. It's for that very reason that I have come to a certain conclusion. Bad rap is no doubt the lowest form of somg, but good rap is no doubt the highest form of poetry. Someone submitted a rap they had written themself to the Basilisk (a little book of art, essays, stories, and poetry that my school publishes yearly), and it was one of the best poems I ever read. The reason it was so good was because it had an irregular rhyme scheme, similarly to the rhyme scheme of Edgar Allen Poe's The Bells. Noone can doubt Dr. Seuss's genius, particularly his ability to add a deeper meaning to the most harmless and innocent of books (a good example is The Butter Battle Book). However, though his stories are inspirational, most attempts to imitate them are not nearly as profound, due to a failure at adding that same degree of metaphor.

    With all due respect,

    :vahi: Aanchir: Rachira of Time

  8. Yeah, that's what I meant. After all, Lyichir already won a blog contest for choosing a name for -SZ-'s blog. The only real bonuses to winning an official contest are the prizes and the fame. I don't know about you, but I'm not that interested in prizes, although getting some is always a plus when you enter an official contest, and I'm not that interested in making myself famous-- just my artwork.

  9. I agree. You don't have to be completely random to do something unexpected.

Spongebob is an example. Patrick says funny stuff sometimes, but it's a genuine mockery of seriousness for the most part. He doesn't just answer all of his questions with "O RLY?" or "ZOMG! RuN!". There's a genuine method to his madness.

  10. Read The Last Universe by William Sleator. It will answer this question pretty well, and will make it understandable to boot. I won't answer, lest I spoil the plot, but quantum physics plays a large role.

While you're at it, read everything else by William Sleator. It may not be realistic, but given the assumptions made, Sleator has a great understanding on how science affects them.

  11. I hope Sumiki gets pics up soon... I'd like to see a few more entries come in before the deadline.

So far, I believe the best entry (excluding my own) is Isaacwade's, but I'm a great fan of his MOCs, so I may be a bit biased in that aspect.

Of course, the sheer imagination behind some of them (Lemon shrinky-dinks! Whooda thunk?) might give mea run for my money.

I've updated my entry post with an image and a link to the topic.
