  1. http://bzpower.com/story.php?ID=4363 That search function can be sneaky.
  2. I don't think that that is strictly entirely true; in this video he is jumping around on the pillars with his regular mask, while in the trailer he is wearing Lewa's. Presumably they switched it out here to emphasize is regular appearance. I wouldn't be surprised if the still image is exclusive to this video as well.
  3. Skull Slicer character video It looks like the Skulls are all going to get key visuals in the cartoon style? weeeeee Check out the description too, Slicer is Kulta's lieutenant.
  4. Hardcastle and Fuller definitely had nothing to do with the Mata Nui online game, that was composed entirely by Justin Lutcher. He's also the one behind "The BIONICLE Music" from the Powerpack, while the other two tracks on that CD remain uncredited as far as I know.
  5. Thanks so much for this! Shame about the VHS getting corrupted somehow, though, that would've been really cool to see.
  6. For reference, here's the prototype Aanchir is talking about.
  7. I edited this into my post, but just so it's not as easy to miss, they linked this on Eurobricks: http://s659.photobuc...huxrgx.png.html
  8. To the contrary, someone over on Eurobricks seems to have gotten a passage that identifies Korgot (the protector of earth) as a woman. No confirmation yet, but if it's true this is actually a pretty big step for BIONICLE to take. EDIT: linked in the topic: http://s659.photobucket.com/user/Mechafire/media/Private/0cfb0551-4aec-49e2-986e-86fede5628e8_zpsgjhuxrgx.png.html
  9. And I just want to add that I'm exaggeratedly happy about this. With the old books, Greg would take the source material he was supposed to base the writing off of sometimes (in particular, I'm thinking the 2007 CGI shorts directed by Faber) and only vaguely follow them, creating a frustrating discontinuity between the two works. These books aren't going to do that and it's great.
  10. Just FYI, it seems that signing in to Amazon will unlock randomly selected excerpts from later portions of the book to read. I got the defeat of the Lord of Skull Spiders and the beginning of the upcoming series of episodes, and if the former is any indication the book stays true to the source material.
  11. In case it wasn't clear, these names are from a preview of the first few pages you can now read on Amazon. I'm not terribly impressed, Bingzak (LOL) being all "my entire village was wiped out. I've been surviving in the jungle ever since" is already getting WAY too close to grimdark for me.
  12. It seems pretty legit, but that (and the 2007 Megatron) are definitely weird. My best guess is that he went back and added those in much, much later (for fun? Nostalgia? Who knows), which also explains why Makuta would be in concept art for a film that really doesn't involve him.
  13. Maybe Kulta hasn't added the blades to him yet. They are all on his back in the trailer, actually. Turns out they weren't fused to his hands after all. If they were, he probably put on Lewa's mask to hide his tears of pain (because they sure aren't fused to his hands now).
  14. someone looked at yo yo vezok's head upside-down.
  15. Has anyone else noted that the trailer has Pohatu throwing a gigantic boulder and utterly obliterating the stone gate with it? Pohatu is awesome, is what I'm saying.
  16. At the end of the Winter run, he's up standing on a structure while the other Toa travel along the ground. So presumably, the Skull Warriors appear and Kopaka throws up the shield for the Toa immediately surrounding him, while Lewa flies in to confront them/around to dodge the lasers or something like that.
  17. Haha, you're right. Someone messed up when they were cutting together the trailer from the episodes. So we know now that that scene is from the final confrontation, the barrage of lasers Kulta is blocking come from Ekimu's hammer. And they switched Ekimu's eye color from blue to green to match the set. Dunno, they're separated by large set/small set, instead of Tahu and Gali being separated from the group. I think it will just happen that Tahu and Gali are the only ones not to have their masks swiped, but who knows.
  18. Yeah, it's pretty clear that the ancient Arena Skull Slicer dwells in takes cues from the design of the Coliseum in LoMN and WoS. This is looking pretty neat, I'm glad that the series is continuing to take liberties with the designs of the characters (even if it means we'll get a miss for every few hits, hi Kulta)
  19. Update on the graphic novels: apparently they're being written by Ryder Windham, just like the standard books. Makes sense, I guess. Here's #1's listing on the publisher's site, where I got this from: http://www.hachettebookgroup.com/titles/ryder-windham/lego-bionicle-graphic-novel-1/9780316266222/
  20. You know how they call a single eyeglass a monocle? But a double is just called 'glasses' for some reason? Bionicle is introducing the proper terminology.
  21. Join me in this detailed analysis.
  22. A bunch of Web of Shadows stuff got left on the cutting room floor, that's probably just one of those bits. Most of it had to do with the Hordika traveling to Keetongu.
  23. So I'm thinking that Scorpio was a really late addition to the lineup. I know that his reception has been generally negative, and I think his overall weirdness could be a result of a rushed development. Most importantly, there's this concept art of the Toa at the city. There's a light for each of the Skull Creatures in their respective locations (blue for Warrior at the gate, green for Slicer at the arena, purple for Basher at the base of the stairway, and red for Kulta within the Forge) except for Skull Scorpio. From that, it seems reasonable to assume that Scorpio just wasn't a part of the picture at that point - ergo, he wasn't envisioned alongside the other Skull Creatures. And then there's the commercial, which also omits him entirely. And that begs the question of why he was added (assuming he was a late addition). Realistically there is no way to know for sure but I'd like to think LEGO wanted to expand the summer range in response to a better than expected reception of the winter wave.
  24. Ding ding ding! Tahu's all-out fury attack is inspired by the sight of Kopaka being struck down. OTP
  25. Sorry about the link - it is definitely correct, but it isn't working for me either. Manually going through WayBack to locate the page shows that it's still up, though. It's the most recent topic in General Discussion on this page. "Mistreatment." I do so wish the other 4 pages could still be read. https://web.archive.org/web/20031209151126/http://www.bzpower.com/forum/
