  1. Hi Toa Chronix! Sorry for the late reply, but others have messages me with different offers and I'm going to go with one of theirs. I hope you end up finding your mask, though! If you have any questions please PM me
  2. I feel like it's just personal preference for MOCists, depending on what feels right to them. For self-MOCs I go with the right hand, since it is dominant, but most of my MOCs include something in both hands, negating the need to determine their hand dominance For Bionicle 2015, though it appears that they are mostly ambidextrous, although their alternate weapon form is placed in their right hand for the majority of them
  3. Yeah, it would be nice if they did what Mega Bloks did with their special figures and made them a whole year convention exclusive rather than just a singular convention
  4. Well, since the weapon takes up most of his arm it unfortunately lacks the ability to nicely fold up I agree with you, though, I loved that feature, too
  5. Hello! Haxorus here! Today I'll be showing you my entry for newest BBC contest: Toa Nuju Hordika! Full Gallery This was inspired by both the set form and the movie (in the movie they only had one mutated arm) As you can see, the only actual parts from Nuju Hordika are the head and one of the gear-arm pieces (since I couldn't find any others ). In addition, I couldn't get the Rhotuka launcher to work with the torso build at all, so instead there is a 'fake' Rhotuka. Plus I think Gelu's weapon looks like a nifty upgrade, hehe Please leave any comments you wish, I hope you enjoyed my Gen 2 rendition of Nuju Hordika Edit: Please link to images over 100 kB in BBC, and over 750 kB on the rest of BZP. -Wind- Edit: Hey, Wind, I fixed the photo size to approx. 22kB, is that okay?
  6. Wow, that's amazing! Haha, Vakama has been confirmed to exist in our world
  7. Whoa, the second pair of wings you made (the bone like ones) look awesome! I'm glad you liked my suggestion for other wings, too, hehe
  8. Can we build a MOC for this contest then send it off for the convention circuit? I just finished building mine (Nuju Hordika!) and I'm kinda proud of it, hehe It's all about how you use the parts, to be honest. Even if it just means a few CCBS shells here and there, as long as it looks like it can fit in with Gen 2 you should be fine
  9. Did she actually kill them or not? You haven't made that clear. Given that Matoran are the closest thing that Bionicle has to children, any deaths are obviously a pretty heavy subject. Sorry for being unclear Yes, Tuyet did kill Matoran, which is one of the main reasons why I brought it up (death isn't new, but like you said, when it is as close to children as Matoran are it is pretty crazy)
  10. Gaardus was the combiner from all of the Stars sets in 2010. Due to the multiple colours from that range, he could basically be considered a weaponized rainbow
  11. Looks pretty great! The replacement of some of the red armour to black works really well. For the swords on his back (since I can see they're black) you could maybe try some bat wings or something, like the pieces from 2008, to add to his overall dark/villain motif (just a suggestion, though, the MOC looks cool regardless) Plus the use of the IfB chest piece is great, I would have never thought to use it for a MOC that wasn't a creature
  12. Well, going from a production standpoint, if they had done 2006 then they could have reused the Toa Nuva models (albeit with a little polishing) for the movie, which would have saved some money. Plus, if 2006 had gotten a movie that did well, then we would have most likely seen 2007 In my own personal opinion, the Ignition arc would have done really well as a series. Fans of the old Bionicle were starting to get into other 'dark, edgy' shows, so introducing the movie with a but more maturity in the writing and possibly some better animation would have integrated well, too Or we could have a full-fledged Bionicle anime film, a la Rebuild of Evangelion style
  13. Why revamp a perfect being, hehe If somebody does go that route though it would surely be... Well, quite the sight
  14. Very cool upgrade! The incorporation of the Hordika weapons is a nice touch, and the bulk of the figure creates a more intimidating Toa
  15. I think it looks pretty cool. From a story-perspctive the black colours make sense. If you live underground why would you be colourful? You'd want to blend in to your surroundings. The red as an accent is pretty nice, too, since it would subtly differentiate the two queens from each other without being overpowering
  16. Looks cool! When I get paid I'll definitely have to order one
  17. Hello! I was wondering if become an OBZPC means you can get a custom member title, or if there is some other method. The reason why I ask is because I have seen some members with custom titles, but they aren't OBZPC, or maybe they once were? Is it for Premier Members, too?
  18. I believe it was the Evo XL machine, although that was back in March 2014, and then I was going to buy some of the summer sets but ended up not doing that, whoops
  19. Mine was Bulk 3.0 O_o I was a little late to the party, but after obtaining him I went back and got most of the 2.0 figures, and the Recon one too, hehe
  20. Hehe, pardon me for being the Makuta's Advocate here, but I feel like the Inika were a really great addition. The Nuva are amazing, don't get me wrong, but they easily defeated everything in their path, and didn't really have many conflicts within their group (their were some, but they were generally resolved easily) The character dynamics with the Inika, however, were pretty well done. The tension between Jaller and Matoro was well written, and their initial discovery if their powers was pretty cool. In addition, they had to face some pretty tough challenges on the 777 steps; Matoro's initial sacrifice, the illusion of them killing the Nuva, etc. Plus their creation lead to new masks being created, and additional lore being explored But I'm a bit biased towards Matoro, so my opinion may not be as valid as it looks
  21. Well, considering that Ekimu and Makuta are relatively mortal in this universe, it certainly is a possibility that there could be more than just them as mask makers. Personally, I'd like to see a few more, perhaps one for each element/colour scheme (Ekimu being Ice, Makuta being Earth, etc.)
  22. With some nifty part organizing (and maybe a couple Bricklink orders) you could probably create a very cool MOC! Like you said, its fun just to build, and hey, having a possibility of winning is always great
  23. Hm... I agree with the idea that it is just the prototype for the Mask of Creation, but the Vahi fitting over it is a plausible idea. The mask is the only one with an open mouth hole, which looks like it could possibly fit the old mask connectors from 2001-03. However, that would involve bringing back the original Vahi mould, and it would only ever fit on that mask for people who are new to the series and don't have any of the pre-CCBS heads
  24. Hey everybody! Haxorus here, and today I'd like to direct your attention to the Toa Empire universe. This storyline popped up in the podcast Dark Mirror, and helped to expand on the storyline involving Toa Tuyet. For those of you who don't know, Tuyet was a Toa of Water, and an insane one at that. In both timelines, she was being tracked down by Dark Hunters for the Nui Stone in her possession. Now, to get some help for her situation, she decided to kill Matoran and blame the DH. Yes, you read that right, KILL Matoran! However, Toa Lhikan found out, and went to stop her (most of this plot was dealt with in The Many Deaths of Toa Tuyet). In the alpha timeline, Lhikan and Nidhiki take her down, and the story continues on from there. However, in the Toa Empire universe, Nidhiki sided with Tuyet, and the two of them killed Lhikan. After a series of events, Tuyet eventually managed to become the ruler of Metru Nui in this timeline, and started exterminating random parties that could pose a threat to her empire. Long story short, Takanuva happens to pop in to this universe, and during his escape, accidentally severs Tuyet's body in two (the portal created by the Olmak closes on her while she is halfway through it) Now, onto the maturity part. First off, we have an adult figure going around killing the common folk. While children these days are more familiar with death than in the past, few are familiar with mass murder (plus the act of killing itself, regardless of however many deaths happen, is pretty adult-rated). Second, the concept of there being more than one universe, as well as all of the backstory, goes well over the target audience's head. Some children may have grasped the concept, but I feel like it may have been going overboard. Lastly, Tuyet's abrupt death (and the means of her death) are pretty gruesome, even for mature audiences. Granted there aren't organs or other bits to be left behind, but the thought of being severed in two is enough to make anybody squeamish. So, what do you all think? Was Tuyet's story in Dark Mirror (and in the main universe) safe for children? Could children understand the concept? Please share your thoughts (I apologize if any info is wrong, this is mostly from memory here)
