  1. "It was an early morning yesterday I was up before the dawn And I really have enjoyed my stay But I must be moving on" I guess had to come to this at some point. Over the last semester my free time had continually dwindled down until there was barely enough left for me to do a lot of the stuff I wanted to do. I finally hit a wall this semester as I've started working at my college's tutoring center. That combined with two of the more challenging and/or time consuming classes in my college's engineering program has left me with almost no free time for anything. I don't want to say I'm permanently leaving BZPower, but really, I'm only confirming what I've know since pretty much the start of this year. I am stepping down as a forum assistant. I don't want to leave completely, but even now, I only have the chance to visit the forums once in a while. Not enough time to do anything of substance. I've also all but stopped blogging. I probably will poke around every once in a while to post a new entry, but nothing regularly though. It's been fun getting to know the few people I've managed to befriend on here. I don't want to completely let that go, but I guess if I'm always gone it's kind of hard to keep in touch. "Goodbye stranger it's been nice Hope you find your paradise Tried to see your point of view Hope your dreams will all come true"
  2. Unfortunately it seems like it, at least for the time being.Congratulations to both Sumiki and Velox on the promotions. I'm sure they'll do a fine job taking over where Janus and I left off.
  3. First week of classes finished up on Friday. This is probably going to be a fun semester, but it is also going to be more difficult than the last. It will probably work out though, since I always seem to adjust to whatever the workload happens to be. I did a few fun things over break in addition to work 40 hours over the three weeks. I got to hang out with a few friends from Knowledge Bowl and another guy I knew from Cross Country/Track, so that was pretty fun. We also had an Alumni Knowledge Bowl meet so those of us who had graduated from high school could get together and have some fun. I also read through some books. The first was Lord of the Flies. Apparently, it's a staple of many high school reading lists and I figured I should try to correct my 'deficiency.' I wasn't very impressed with it. I guess it could have been a lot worse, but really I don't get why it's so popular. I have no plans on ever rereading it. The second book was A Wrinkle in Time. I don't know how I ever got the idea to read it, but it was among the books that came in at the library when I got home from school. I guess I must have had some reason at some point, but whatever it was it's now lost to history. It wasn't a bad book, but it was more simplistic than a lot of the other books of other books I've read lately. The last was Corelli's Mandolin. It was a good book, but it definitely wasn't a kids book. I had started on Pride and Prejudice, but I forgot it at my house, so it won't get finished until I can get home again sometime in February. I also got to see the latest Sherlock Holmes movie, Game of Shadows. I thought it was just as good as the first. I didn't really like the guy that they had playing Moriarty. I can't really seem to find the right word word to describe what bothered me about him. Anyway, that's probably most of my break. Hopefully I can get some stuff done around here this semester, but if life gets too busy, it obviously takes precedence over anything on the internet. Also, it seems like I'm no longer getting alerts telling me people have commented on my blog. I'll try to stay on top of that, but if you comment on something and it doesn't get approved within a reasonable amount of time, feel free to let me know.
  4. I am in the OA, but honestly I haven't done anything with them since I attended my first conclave. It's just been that I've always had something more important going on when my lodge had an event. I haven't even considered NOAC. At this point in my life, I don't really have the time or resources for any big events. It's more important that I work through college and get that payed for. Edit: Oh and in regard to getting older than we should, I probably don't have your cane beat, but my hair is already starting to thin. (In my family, the males don't get grey hair, they just lose it.)
  5. In this case Gatanui is correct. The board can recolonize when certain sites are viewing pages on our site, and so it lists them as their site name, rather then as just a guest.Question Answered...Topic Closed...
  6. Eeko is correct, the news e-mail is still active. Usually it's better just to use the e-mail instead of PMing a reporter, so that all the reporters can see your report.Question AnsweredTopic Closed

    19

Let's just say over sleeping is not a good way to start your birthday. I wanted to show up for work at 8 AM, but we I set my alarm the night before I neglected to make sure it was turned on. I rolled out of bed at about 7:45 in a huge panic. So, yeah that wasn't a great start. As for my birthday, I didn't do anything exciting at all. Most of my birthday's have been pretty low key these last few years. I'll probably have to change that at some point. I didn't really expect anything big for a present, since I got my computer last year. I ended up getting an LL Bean turtle neck sweater. It's been years since I've worn one of those. I'm going to say that over the last 19 years of my life I've probably changed the most over the last year. I don't really feel any different, but I know I've changed a lot, which is probably due to the transition into college more then anything. My one year staff anniversary was also about a month ago. Was it really a year ago that I got asked to become a Forum Assistant? I can still remember being in shock the whole day I received that PM from Black Six.
  8. I still haven't seen it, which I probably should have done a while ago. Yet another thing I need to do over my rapidly shrinking winter break.
  9. Setting up integrals for polar curves really isn't that bad, just apply the required formula. Integrating some of the functions can get pretty messy though.
  10. It was about time. Congratulations on the promotion!
  11. They've used that piece in the past, but I guess they wanted to change things up this year.
  12. I think I like the one on the left the best. I agree with crankbait that it does remind me a lot of a transformer. It does look kind of blocky, but it doesn't hurt it too much. The color scheme is kind of bland though, I think it would have been a little bit better if you had included a small amount of another color just to provide some sort of accent and to add interest. The one the right is also pretty nice. I like how you used the pneumatic t-pieces to provide articulation. I think that works nicely.
  13. Where, exactly, do you see too much gray?On the back side of of the torso, but maybe that is just me.
  14. I'm normally pretty quiet and shy. Because of that I've never really enjoyed the idea of public speaking. It's not that I'm terrified of it, because I'm not, I just never liked the idea. Due to what is pretty much a universal college general education requirement, I had to take a public speaking course. I feel pretty lucky though, because I get to take the special public speaking course. I am in my school's honors program, so I was able to register for the freshman honors public speaking course rather then the regular public speaking course. And surprisingly, I'm enjoying it a lot. For starters there are only 13 people in the class. I don't know how many people are in the regular public speaking courses, but I'm sure there are more than thirteen. It's nice to have at least one class where I can know everyone's first name. All the rest of my classes are massive lectures. The professor we have is also amazing. She used to be the school's communications department dean and she is one of the co-authors of our textbook. We also spent one class period watching Monsters Inc, just because the professor hadn't seen a pixar movie before.
  15. I'm using a Kodak Easyshare Z8612IS. It has some issues, but occasionally it will take a decent picture. I'm not using the auto-mode, but really the only thing I ever change is the exposure compensation. The camera does have aperture and shutter speed controls, but I don't know enough to use them effectively.
  16. The first is from back in September, when I took a walk around the NDSU campus to take a few pictures. The second was at my grandparents cabin earlier in the summer. I feel like I should make a content block for photography, but then I would have to update the rest of my content blocks and that would require work.
  17. Nice job on this Sumiki. You did a nice job blending the Duplo pieces with the regular LEGO pieces. It makes it look pretty bulky and strong. I don't have a problem with the small head. For improvement, I think there's a little too much grey on the back, but that might just be me.
  18. It's chalk. I saw a picture of that as the creator was working on it and it's amazing how three dimensional it looks.
  19. I guess it's not really a surprise to see this happen, but it is kind of disappointing. I enjoyed playing it and it really wasn't too bad of a game. It seems kind of a waste though, all those years of work that went in to creating this.
  20. And I thought stuff like this only happened on the internet. (Oh, wait...)

    Dumb.

I think having to swipe an id to use the printer is pretty standard. I've been at two different colleges and both of them operate their printers that way. At least one of those other people should have helped you out though.
  22. I'm still using my second pair of boots from when I was a scout. In fact I had to have my parents ship them to me so I could use them when I was hiking around Itasca State Park a couple of weeks ago.
  23. I'm pretty sure my first LEGO set was the 6713 Grip-n-Go Challenge. I remember getting it for my birthday one year and I had a lot of fun with it.
  24. I'm looking forward to Mylo Xyloto and I will probably be the first album I ever get right away when it's released. I don't really like the style of Coldplay's new stuff as much as I like their older stuff. There are some good songs on Mylo Xyloto, like Charlie Brown and Every Tear Drop is a Waterfall, but I don't really like the more electric style of their new music. I personally think their best album was Rush of Blood to the Head and I really like that more acoustic style.
  25. I added a lot of music over the summer. Almost everything was originally on CD, except the stuff I picked up when Amazon had an MP3 sale. There's still some stuff I'd like to get, but now that I'm in college, expending my music collection and kind of taken a lower priority.3 Doors DownSingle - Another 700 Miles - KryptoniteAlbum - Away From the SunAlbum -
