  1. Normally I would just make a list of significant events that have happened over the last year, but really, I don't have the desire or the willpower to dig through all my blog entries from the past year. So you'll have to settle for a little rambling. Over the past year a lot of stuff has happened, both in my life and in the world as a whole. Probably the most significant thing I did over the past twelve months was my trip to Washington D.C. and the 2010 National Scout Jamboree. You spend most of your life seeing pictures of the United State's Capital in books and movies, but to actually walk those streets, with the Capital Building and the Washington Monument towering over you, it's almost unbelievable. Those two weeks were probably the best two for my life so far, even though I essentially spent my life savings on them. I was also promoted to the BZPower staff a couple of months ago. I almost had a heart attack when I read the PM from Black Six. But more seriously, I'm glad I was picked to make a larger contribution to this site which has been an important part of my life for almost three years now. I also passed my Eagle board of review in October. That's probably one of the most important things I did this year. Hopefully my three younger brothers will follow in my foot steps and get their Eagle when they're older. So yeah, Happy New Years everyone and may 2011 be even better then 2010.
  2. - 2 - 3 - 4 - The light is from the 2009 LEGO City Advent Calender. When I first saw it, all I could think was Narnia. I finally got around to make a vignette to go with it.
  3. He is, especially in that that album.
  4. My birthday present arrived in the mail yesterday. It turns out it's a new Laptop, and a high powered one at that. I was going to buy myself one at some point this summer but now I don't have to. I wasn't even going to buy one this powerful. It's an HP Pavilion Entertainment PC, or at least that's what the label says. This is probably one of the largest laptops you can buy. It's even too big for the bag I got from my dad a couple of months ago. 18.4" screen 1 TB Hard Drive Space (2 x 500 GB) 8 GB RAM (maxed out) Intel i7 1.60 GHz processor (8 core) Nvidia GeForce graphics card CD, DVD and Blueray player. As long as nothing breaks, I should have a good computer until I at least finish college.
  5. I'm currently in the process of burning my Brickshelf to the ground and reorganizing it. I actually started this a while ago and I'm now just getting around to finishing it. Brand new/old unposted stuff will finally be getting the light of day when I'm done. I have two new MOCs to post sometime later this week and I have a collection of LEGO pictures that I also want to post some time during break.
  6. I'm not really a big fan of cheese. I guess if I would have to pick I would say string cheese. Since it's was a Saturday I was probably doing something at home. Nothing important comes to mind.
  7. I'll direct back to my second blog entry, Wall Walker. That's the minifig that's ghosted into my avvy. When I changed my name I wanted something new and original. My previous name, Relative Chaos, was a carry over from another site, so wasn't new. I decided that that minifig would be my "sig fig" and so I used the name I had unofficially know it as "The Mysterious Minifig" as my new name. Now that you mention it, I don't think I've ever had a dream involving farm animals. I did have that nightmare when I was little involving a bear attacking my grandparents farm house, but that's something different. =P
  8. I transplanted a bunch of tree that were on the property of the church my troop is chartered to. We also picked up a lot of rocks that had worked their way to various states of being out of the ground. As long as I don't have to drive in it. =P I barely made it to the top of my driveway yestersday since my brothers hadn't shoveled.
  9. This entry is probably long over due. So yeah, ask me stuff and maybe I'll answer. =P
  10. I currently just finished Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. It was a pretty good book although I didn't really expect the plot twist that came about two thirds of the way through. The ending was rather ambiguous, so I'm not sure if it ended up being happy or sad. I'm now starting on The Great and Terrible Quest by Margaret Lovett. My mom claims that I read this a long time ago, but I don't remember it. It won't hurt to read it again though. Next is Infernal Devices by Philip Reeve. This is the third book of the Hungry City Chronicles. The first book of the series wasn't the best book I've ever read, but the story it self was interesting enough that I had to find out how the whole thing ends. The story it self is set in the distant future of our planet where there is basically no electronics. Instead of being static, cities are huge moving machines. They drive around and the bigger cities eat the smaller cities. The book calls it Municiple Darwinism. The last book I want to read this year is A Christmas Carol. It's a lot shorter then I thought it would be, so I should be able to take a break from whatever book I'm in the middle of to read right around Christmas.

    Sick

I suppose if there ever was a good time to get sick this is it. With classes done, I don't have to worry about missing and lectures. Probably just the common cold, but it isn't fun. At least there is no cough like early last summer, when my "cold" turned out to be whooping cough.
  12. Now that classes are finished for the semester for me, I have to decide what I want to do with all my notes an stuff. Normally the important hand-outs and the tests would go in a binder and the my notebook/s would end up in a pile on my shelf. I'm thinking I should scan almost everything in the computer. The only problem I want to be able to read everything that I scan in and that may not happen. It will also probably take a while to do, since I have a lot of stuff. The benefit though is that I can take all my notes and stuff with me for reference when I go to college for real.
  13. I originally thought I missed out on the series 2 minifigs after Toys R Us sold out before I was able to get over there. However, fate had other plans for me. While I was shopping this weekend I discovered a massive stock pile of series 2 minifigs in the Christmas of a local Shopko. I didn't have a bar code chart, but I manged to feel out a Karate Master. I got lucky with that one, since it came with two of the minifig statue things. I went back the next day with one of my brothers and a bar code chart. This stockpile was basically unsearched. My brother and I sorted through less then half of the packages and we found 3 Spartans. Total finds included a mime, the disco dude, the pharaoh, the karate master, and two Spartans for my self, and my brother got a Spartan, the skier, and a karate master. I'm pretty happy with what have for now, so I should be set until series four comes out.
  14. Everyone hopes that they never have to use that stuff, but it's cases like that make it so important that you learn how. It's a really good thing your brother learned.
  15. For the last Physics lab we did an experiment involving the the pressure of air at constant volume with varying temperature. In other words, we watched water boil and took pressure measurements at different temperatures. We didn't measure pressure directly, though. We had a special gauge that that changed it's electrical resistance based on pressure. Due to the jumpiness of the measuring tools, the extrapolated value we got for absolute zero was ~-292° C. The accepted value is -273.15° C.
  16. I don't think I've had jalapenos before so I'm not sure I if would like that. It does sound pretty hot though. *insert emote shooting fire from its mouth like a dragon*

    Wow

Actually, I just gave it to you then because it was an appropriate entry for it. It would have been kind of strange if I had given it to you on your font color voting entry.
  18. See if your school's library participates in an interlibrary program. There should be a library somewhere that has the books.
  19. School is just about over for this semester for me. I have two review class periods and three finals left. My computer science final is at 10:00 AM on Friday and it's open notes/book so it should be easy. Then on Mondat at 8:00 AM I have the economics final. It will probably decently hard, although it's multiple choice so that makes it a lot easier. The Physics final is at 7:30 AM on Tuesday. That one will probably be pretty hard. I don't think I'll have too much trouble if I go through my notes and stuff this weekend. I also have the second highest grade in the class right now so I should be in pretty good shape as long as I don't totally flunk it.
  20. Are you pursuing a degree right now, or are just taking college level classes at a college?

    Snow!

I've wanted to have snow that deep for a long time, but it never seems to snow that much.
