  1. Actually, I've only ever seen it on Biosector. The only time characters in the books are shown eating or drinking, they do it with their mouths. Because Matoran aren't replicas of humans? IMO, the setting is fine. Making the characters emotions alien actually made me connect with them better. And for Agori, children were supposed to be rare, right? Hence why Gresh is one of the only people who didn't fight in the Core War. I presume it's because after so much fighting, Bara Magnans just can't trust each other anymore, which is why they wear armor all the time.
  2. That's some interesting insight, Kahi! I'll have to take a look at TTV. I think that those who find this topic to be depressing are missing the point. We're trying to solve problems, not mope about them. How would BZPower become more system friendly, ToaTimeLord? And how would it help?
  3. RIP bubblewrap. I like the rules the way they are. Strict rules kept us on topic, prevented spamming and flaming, and gave us an air of legitimacy. As for ways to keep BZP active, more contests or whatever, and expansions to non-Bionicle Lego discussion? I also noticed that people don't discuss on the news talkback as much as they used to.
  4. I think what really hurt BZP was the self-entitled bitterness that was on the boards after Bionicle ended, and even after Bionicle came back. This drove off the more optimistic members from BZP, and when the angry members got tired of being angry, they left too. Which leaves us. Maybe we could try networking with older members to come back? I dunno. Solving population problems isn't my strong suit. I think all of our forums and sub-forums still have active topics, just not as much as yee oldene dayese.
  5. G1 never went wrong. It lasted for more than 9 years, and pulled Lego out of a major economic slump. That should be a resounding success in any book. The story may have had 2-3 more years worth of material in it, but that's what almost always happens with long-running series: they have more ambition than means. I don't see why you guys want to criticize something we all spent ~10 years loving.
  6. I think that BZP's still got some life in it. I think that if the members had something to collaborate on, there might be more activity. I hope that BZP doesn't go away, it's the best forum I've ever been on, and one of the few forums left. Social sites like tumblr, reddit, and so on (remember when we weren't allowed to talk about other websites?) just don't allow the same type of full discussions as forums, basically being designed as ad tubes and echo chambers. Lots of Server Busy messages. So many Server Busy messages. So true, lol.
  7. Oh boy, another one of these topics. I usually relate to the characters more if there isn't any romance. It also adds to the fact that these characters are not human, which makes the story more distinguishable from other stories. Romance plots tend to take on a life of their own in hero stories, and this is usually detrimental on the whole. The Toa don't have to deal with those distractions, and become better heroes for it..
  8. I knew I would love these guys as soon as I saw their set photos. They're snake warriors... made out of snakes! Lego never stops innovating.
  9. I believe it went something like: Greg Farshtey was a master. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Don't we have some sort of database with all of Greg's answers or something?

    RAZOR X

Kinda cute and chunky. I like it. I understand from your flawed grammar that you made these yourself?
  11. I remember GregF admitting that it was a discrepancy in one of his Q&As, but I don't remember which one. Eh, whatever. Two ways of justifying it.
  12. In Federation of Fear, Tren Krom is described with yellow eyes, but in Mutran Chronicles, Tren Krom has no eyes. Maybe this discrepancy can be explained as Tren Krom's psychic powers being so mind-warpingly powerful, that he can appear different depending on who is looking at him?
  13. CAD stands for Computer Assisted Design. It is used to create everything from architecture to automobiles to toys. I realize what it is missing from the model. Modelling it was harder than expected, but the missing pinholes isn't the worst part. The model of part 90640 is not one solid part, but three. For some reason, they are unwilling to unite into a single solid. I posted it here with the hope that someone would be able to help me with that.
  14. Making some photos now. Albeit the major issues I have are only really observable in the file. In the same order as above: 93575 90640 90609 90617 This one is "ghosted" because it looks pretty.
  15. Strange. It's worked for me. The link will bring you to a page that says "No preview is available", and a download link. You'll need a program that reads .3dm files to open it. Is that what's happening?
  16. Once or twice in my times in this section of BZPower, I have seen topics trying to develop a Bionicle tabletop role playing game (or TTRPG, or RPG for short). They were usually D20 based, and never made much headway. This is understandable, considering how difficult it is to create a new game system. But I have made a discovery that will change all that. Play Mutants and Masterminds. Mutants and Masterminds (M&M) is a TTRPG whose main purpose is to create and play as superheroes. It's system is known for its great character creation flexibility. This suits it well to our purposes. In short, if you want to play a Bionicle RPG, just play Mutants and Masterminds. Seriously, look how easy it is. If you want to have a Kanohi, just create a power or set of powers with the Removable flaw. Nearly all Bionicle characters would have Immunity to Aging, but since everyone is going to have it anyways, you (if you are the GM) might as well give it to everyone for free. If you want to role play using up your elemental energies in a powerful burst, but leaving you temporarily drained afterward, M&M has a mechanic for that. It's called Extra Effort. If the GM wants to create an enemy such as a Muaka or a Makuta, it is child's play to arrange Power Points into a formidable foe. Limiting or increasing the Power Level of the campaign will create adventures for plucky Matoran or powerful Titans, respectively. Even if you don't have the book, you can still look at the rules on www.d20herosrd.com for free. Don't worry, it's perfectly legal.
  17. I'm not sure where else to put this. I've been replicating the left arm of Onua, Master of Earth. I'm using a student version of Rhino CAD 5. These are all boot-leg quality, of course. Some features, such as the fingers on part 93575 are too small for my calipers to measure. I'm looking for some feedback and advice. 93575 https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxyVvuEhpQ0XV1M5ZjdlRHl2SXM/view?usp=sharing Onua's hand. All the little ridges and fingers are really small, so I couldn't replicate them with my calipers. 90640 https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxyVvuEhpQ0XdFF6dFBDc3prdm8/view?usp=sharing A piece of armor cladding. Unfinished, as I still need to put in the pin and ball joint connectors. My biggest peeve though, is that it's made of three polysurfaces, and I can't get them to union. Any help? 90609 https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxyVvuEhpQ0XWE5UMC0xUW5qX0E/view?usp=sharing A "bone". The part I'm most pleased with. It is the best replication I have done so far. 90617 https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxyVvuEhpQ0XSGxwX004VnFZb1U/view?usp=sharing Another bone. Was doing pretty well, until I got to the ball joint. Not really sure what to do from here.
  18. To clarify, it was chapter 4, and was described as "the Matoran's universal sign for "urgency.""
  19. I believe it was when Ahkmou was travelling to meet Albus with a wounded Gemma. I believe it was a symbol for emergency treatment. It's been too long since I was able to catch up with this.
  20. I always thought that Toa Ahkmou was more of a "Behind Blue Eyes" kind of guy. Does this mean that Nova Orbis is coming back soon?
  21. Looks like they're taking apart some real sets, making new ones, adding some bootleg recolors to claim originality, and selling them at marked up prices. Just look at KSZ's logo.
  22. This just in: Craig B quits, forums tremble! But seriously, is Angry Birds still a thing? How is it still a thing? The games aren't even good.
  23. Is this new comic an homage to Makito's demise in Nuparurocks' Comics in any way?
