  1. Good point...I do admit it was a bit too brash. That aside, does any of them resemble Opeth?
  2. I agree, this is not the place for such a discussion. Sorry if I did anything wrong.Give it a rest, man.
  3. That wasn't meant for you, Tyler.
  4. A flame war is far from what I came here seeking, so if it doesn't bother you much, Eucliwood, please have some consideration for others' "mediocre" methodologies and not-so-cynical attitudes towards life. I respect the fact that you're not really convinced by the whole idea of "religion", but that doesn't mean you're entitled to make fun of others' beliefs. I don't know whether you fear, hate, or don't know a thing about religion, but this topic was made for the purpose of connecting Metal fans on BZPower, so let's just keep it to that level, and we can have heated, lengthy discussions on whatever bugs you somewhere else.On a side note: thanks for your suggestions, will be sure to check them out.
  5. Really? I'm also interested (to an extent) in archaeology (mainly Egyptology since I'm Egyptian ). So what do you study over there?
  6. I came here looking for some inspiration. I am somehow a death-metally kind of guy. Imainly listen to Opeth (my all-time favorite),, some As I Lay Dying, didn't like Trivium that much, only one album by Disturbed (Asylum-loved it despite not being quite metally), also into A7X (not as metally as the rest, though). Any good idea on decent death metal (mainly melodic and can include some Mikael-Akerfeldt-groany vocals) and some progressive? But nothing too blasphemic or the likes; it gets stupid for me IMHO because religion should not be mocked or hated (just my opinion). I despise Lamb of God for that reason, but I really dig their instrumental styles. So any ideas to expand my horizons a bit? FTR I just downloaded some stuff for Skeletonwitch, Anubis Gate, Arch Enemy, Eyes Set to Kill, Dawn of Ashes, Warbringer and a few others. What should I start with?
  7. This topic is mainly dedicated to 2012 seniors or people who intend to go to university this coming year and/or people who are currently studying at university. I would like to know some people's opinion on what they think are the best schools to get into in their home country and whether or not they would enroll in universities somewhere else and why. I also would like to see how many people are interested in Engineering (especially mechanical, electrical or mechatronics) and what are the good schools that offer decent courses in these fields. I am personally hoping to get into the University of Sheffield because I've heard that it offers one of the best Mech.Eng courses in the UK. I'm quite interested in robotics and such, so that is why I'm hoping to get into that specific school. I also applied to Newcastle, Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester. I would also apply to some schools as far away as Canada (since I live in Saudi Arabia), but I don't know a great deal about schools there. So, whadd'ya guys think? I really want to hear your take on this.If this topic is for any reason unacceptable/inappropriate, please report or delete it as soon as possible. I thought something like this would be totally legit considering the amount of COT's out there Over and out!
  8. This MOC is fantastic! I must really commend you on the effort. I love every single thing about him, with the exception of that overly misplaced head. Maybe bring it up a stud or two or elongating the neck would solve the problem, but it is too weird for me like that. Or maybe even give him another head right above that one! That'd be cool! Overall, 9.99/10, because the rest of him is so epic that the head, while awkwardly positioned, does not seem to take much away from the originality of the whole thing. Great job!
  9. I much prefer I didn't post anything until I get some little thing up on the forums (some sort of milestone special), but I just had to comment on this, Furno is wonderful, though I do find the idea of two fingers unappealing. Next up is Breez, whom I'm not so sure of.... especially that giant ball attached to her face. It looks just....wrong. Though I might have a fix for it if you're interested.

  11. Name: LarcGender: MaleFaction: UnknownSpecies: ToaElement: EarthPreferred Weapons/Tools: Kanohi Kadin, Picking Gauntlet, Giant Battle Guitar Axe "The Lotus Eater", and 2 levitating sonic cannons that function as amplifiers. He uses a chain as his guitar strap, and can detach it to use as a flail.Appearance: Tall and bulky with black and gunmetal armor with dark gold highlights and a battle-worn dark-red cape. Scattered Skull designs all over his armor, and golden glyphs on his cape.Bio: Not much is known about him, other than that his prevailing silence is matched by an insanely burly ("Opeth's" Mikael Akerfeldt's groaning burly) voice which he uses to demoralize his enemies. His groans and grunts strike terror in the hearts of those unfortunate enough to stand in his path, and his soul-leeching lyrics and tremulous guitar riffs cut through stone and protosteel alike. He has been put through much as a young warrior, and he made his way through to become a highly-ranked official and respected leader. He crafted his "Lotus Eater" from the remains of fallen warriors' armor. He has a dark and macabre personality, only further emphasized by his traumatizing physique.
  12. This MOC was a one-night quickie; I'd originally made it to fit the hoverboard-weapon-combo-idea. Enough talk, and let the showcasing begin!Holding boardJust standing thereHoverboardOn boardI really like him the way he is, and it's quite unlikely I'll revamp him. I hope you guys like him equally!C&C always welcome!Edit: Image thumbnailed due to file size. Please keep posted images in BBC to 100 kB.-Wind-
  13. Yeah, I'm not too proud of the knees, but his legs were kinda flimsy so I had to fix them with some supports. And when I take better pictures of him (probably sometime real soon), you'll notice that these little quirks aren't that obvious. The dark grey is used only where I absolutely had to, since these pieces don't exist in black. And no. That was permanent marker; I'd colored it for a much older project of mine. I thought these would be perfect for gauntlets.
  14. So I've had this on the shelf for quite some time now. I can't believe I'm actually posting it, and I'm really proud of it. Now I'm a really fluctuating person when it comes to MOCing; often do I post images of a MOC I'm really proud of as soon as I'm done with it, yet I also sometimes leave them on the shelf for too long without much appreciation. My idiosyncrasies aside, this was requested by Chaos Dralcax around five months ago. He wanted a black Makuta with gold armor and a gold Hau for a mask. I used the Metru Hau and old gold since I don't have a single pearl gold piece (can you believe that?!).The fabric wings were the most amusing part to make. I really hope you like it man!Feel free to leave any comments or constructive criticism, and thanks for viewing!More pictures later, when my camera's recharged probably :tohu: Edit: Image thumbnailed due to file size. 15. Thanks dude! But I really wanted to keep the flow of the legs consistent with that of the whole figure if you know what I mean. And thanks again man!
  16. I absolutely love this!!! It is a breakthrough when it comes to building with the HF system. However, I think the lower legs are a tad too short and the katana too long for a MOC of his stature. Maybe the smaller ones on the battle skirt would look better? Overall, great job man! 9/10.I absolutely love this!!! It is a breakthrough when it comes to building with the HF system. 17. Inspired by (Garnia Returns)'s Anubis, this MOC took me three days to finish. I hope you guys like it!Link to the LDD file here.Comments and constructive criticism greatly appreciated.Feel free to make any desired adjustments to the original file if you'd like and post the changes on this topic. Thanks!Edit: Image thumbnailed due to file size. 18. Well, I gotta say that while it doesn't really resemble Anubis, it looks pretty good. IMO, it looks kinda like a huge desert rat or something, primarily because of the way its nose looks.BTW, Anubis is my favorite mythological deity, and throughout the years I've made some recreations of him in many different forms, including the Anubians if you had seen them, one prototype from 2008-09 and a new LDD version I just finished yesterday. To be honest you inspired me to build the new one, so thank you for that.
  19. O_o that is MINDBLOWING!!! I had to exceed my current post count to comment on this!!! Incredible work! I wouldn't mind hands, with some sort of mineral sampling stuff attached, but this is already too epic for hands.
  20. RIP, Heather Braaten :'(

  21. Any news on Heather? I'm worried sick!!! Although I've never heard of her before, I'm startled at such news... Praying that she is found safe and sound......

  22. Yeah... That's exactly why I prefer the other side of Drilldozer's head.
  23. That rules! But I think the feet could've been bigger and the head would look better as Nitroblast's. I'm fond of the back-cannon thing and the jetpack, and the armor looks good to me. Everything else is fine. You did a great job there, man! Darn! I've already reached 300 posts! Oh, well.
  24. Thank you! The red pattern is actually meant to resemble a symbol of some order that this dude belongs to. I'll explain later (on this weekend if possible).
  25. I'm guessing not, since this is probably the best thing I'd ever built! I may post my 300th post special this weekend!
