I see those a lot.if that were the case,then by your definition,every sonic fan-character that has been created is a recolor.in true definition,a recolor is simply that.sonic painted yellow.shadow colored blue and pink.a fan-character is one that the creator usually will spend a long period of time making and redjusting until they have a new character,often vastly different from the original sonic design.a good example would be my character.the spikes,gloves and boots were edited very much to be shaped and colored the way they are now.
