IC - Kahal [Le-Koro]:

"Odd. Maybe he's getting help. Either that or an unfortunately timed diplomatic visit. Either way, it looks like the village is pretty much screwed." Kahal spoke with a laid-back tone, one that came from a cheerful obliviousness or perhaps sheer confidence.

"Is he the only reason you lot came over?"

IC: Akhulii

Akhulii grunted out when they reached Kongu's hut only to find him gone. "This place is a waste Kongu goes scampering off to Ta-Koro. Some leader. All these blasted Le-Koronans like to do is party all day. No respect for responsibility!"

Akhulii didn't feel comfortable with their new-comer. He smelled like... blood. Akhulii began tapping his fingers nervously against his thigh.

"This place looks too bloody abandoned. I vote that we get out of here. Forget the subs. I'd rather go to Ko-Koro, no matter what crazy war is going over there. We'll find ourselves a safe spot and drink a nice bottle of wine, eh? I'll even add a little extra something special! Let's just please get out of here... you see what I mean, right Ryzen? Right guys?"

This place made Akhulii frantic and he began quickly walking in circles and wringing his hands. Le-Koro is not a friendly place anymore...

IC - Kahal [Le-Koro]:

"If you leave then the trees will fall and there'll be one less village on Mata-Nui. 'Course, that also means there'll be refugees straining resources for the other villages. Plus, we can't discount anybody ransacking the fallen huts." Kahal said as he adjusted the wrappings on his right hand. He looked over briefly to the Toa of Ice who had just made a set of stairs and back to the Turaga and Matoran.

"It doesn't seem like the village has much of a plan for dealing with the threat at the moment but I'm willing to bet that a couple of good samaritans or wannabe heroes will arrive pretty soon." The hunter said with a smirk.

IC Izzun

Izzun looked over at the bloody hunter and said "You're looking at one of them. Now, what threat has plagued the Koro beside those wimpy bugs? Oh, Akhulii, you may want to consider the fact that on this trip this party has been gaining members, pretty quickly actually, and if we hold out at this Koro long enough, more will arrive."

IC Kigta:

I hear Izzun talking to Ahkulii, and cant help but say, "Yeah, you're right, Ahkulii!" I give the Ga-Matoran a look saying 'we'll talk later'. "Now, if we're not here for subs or to talk to the Akiri anymore, what are going to do? Fight the beetles, or retreat and find that coward of a leader?" I ask the whole group.

Ic: Artem

"Ah thank you sir" Artem spoke quietly. He ascended the stairs carefully. Once at the top, he gazed out over the desolate village he once loved and turned to meet his helpers. "Hello. I am Artem, Toa of sonics. Please to meet you"

IC Izzun

Izzun responded. "The civilians fled because of a rampage of insects. They tore through the entire surrounding forest, but barely touched the houses at all. I think that massive wave of insects was just a little tiny crumb of what's coming over the horizon."

"Earlier I said I noticed something massive twenty miles away. That was them. And that was an hour ago. Let me check..." and Izzun activated his thermal imaging and stared hard at the distance. He laughed slightly, but it was a more of a sad laugh. "Hey, they're only four miles away! Yay..."

IC: Akhulii

"They never touched the houses, but they sure touched the trees they were standing on!" Akhulii pointed towards a large fallen trunk with little crushed huts and a splintered platform.

"You fellows may be able to freeze a couple of those bugs, but how long do you suspect your elemental powers will last against hordes? You'll run out before you save the koro. I'm bloody telling ya! To take down such an armada we would need to think it through carefully. These beetles want to eat, no? Why do they want to eat? I conclude that they have a nest, and where there's a nest, there's a queen. Do you really think you can take the hordes and that down? We're a fair sized group now, but it'll take a lot more than this to fight a crazy fight like that. Le-Koro needs a rescue team. Not this-" he said waving his hand in a motion to the ragtag group of strangers.

IC Lain

"The matoran is right ya bloody fools. They'd best be served by gettin' a real group of fighters together, not a group o' half Toa and half matoran who met in the bloody jungle." I point to the north, Ta-Koro lays beyond Le-Koro and it's dense jungle. The land of fire and lava. It is a highly militarized land, the Guard within matched only by Ga-Koro's marines and Onu-Koro's technologically advanced Ussalry.

"If we are ta head to Ta-Koro, we could give the news ta them that Le-Koro is threaten'd by the beetles."

...but close to it

IC Kigta:

I gulp and speak up. "I will join the tree freezer." I chuckle unrealistically and continue, "The first two may end up being the last two, eh?" I look up at him, fully aware of his power. "I am pretty tree-quick, and can turn a few glowstones and some vines into a fast-power weapon! You all go ahead of us." We wave them, or more like shoo them, away, leaving us to face the terrors alone. "At least the bugs are still mind-slow after that flash-freeze."

OOC: Awwwwwwww yeaaaaaaaaaaaaah, you bet I'm starting to talk in Treespeak!

"The more, the merrier, then! Let us face these tree-chompers with the virtue of Unity!" I try to raise our spirits, which appears to work. "You, uh, have a weapon?" I ask the other Matoran.

IC - Kahal [Le-Koro]:

"Beetles are eating the trees, right? I think I'll take my chances here. If we let them roam free then nature's balance will be broken." Kahal said as he tapped an arrow in his quiver. He walked over to the edge of the platform and looked around.

In any case, something like this shouldn't happen naturally... No one's ever seen these beetles before...

IC Kigta:

I accept the Turaga as well, but me and the Toa may have to deny the archer. "We can't have just 3 people marching on to Ta-Koro, brother. What say you, ice Toa?"

I soon realize that I am in need of weapons. "Would you mind quick-forging me a blade with your ice power, Toa hero?" I ask Izzun.

OOC: Yeah, I need to get off the RPG for tonight too. G'night, all!

IC - Kahal [Le-Koro]:

"I've got a hut here (even though there's nothing of value in it) and I'm an experienced hunter. I don't need anyone's approval to defend my village, nor am I a part of any groups." The hunter replied with a smirk. Kahal glanced around briefly as he turned back to face the group.

"The Gukko Force is probably regrouping just past the outskirts of the village anyways."

OOC: I won't be here for the next few days unless I hop on another computer. G'night, y'all!

IC Izzun

"Well, I hope you are prepared, archer. Also, if you run out of ammo-" He created an ice arrow in his fingers. "Let me know."

He turned to Kigta. "Of course, but only when there's trouble. You ever heard of ice melting?"

IC Izzun

"Take care, the rest of you. Try to find Akiri and get him to assist us in rallying up enough people to defend the Wahi. We can prevent them destroying the Koro, but the Wahi will suffer a grave disaster if you fail. Also, they'll head into Ta-Wahi if they aren't stopped, so... Take care!" shouted Izzun as the three others ran off into the jungle to spread the word to Ta-Koro.

He turned reluctantly to the other three. "Uzan, Kigta, uh, Hunter-person, are you ready?"

Ic: Artem

Artem watched the exchange carefully. after a moment of silence he said "I am a toa of sonics. I could set up a sonic barrier to shield a part of the village, a certain tree, or maybe even some people. This place is valuable. If there isn't enough defenders, the whole village will fall. Literally. So i will stay and defend this place." he pulled out his sword and pointed it towards the oncoming herd. "Are we ready?"

"Hold up, Izzun, I'd like to stay with you." I stared determinedly at the other ice Toa. "You might need someone else to help while you wait."

I feel like I had a strange, duty, I guess, to defend something i may have lost a long time ago. Maybe this ragtag group has showed me what it meant to believe in the virtues. Just maybe.

OOC: ghidora, the leader's name isn't Akiri. Akiri is a title; his name is Kongu.

IC Kigta:

I stare at the two people who will have to go through the dangerous forest alone, braving more dangers than we could find here. I whisper to Izzun, "Toa-hero? Too many people are staying here. Would I be a scare-coward to leave and guard them?" I hoped that I would be able to help them before it was past-late.

"Actually, I believe i could do more good going to Ta-Koro. If any others wish to go, came with me now. It would be most beneficial to alert the Ta-Koro guard as opposed to having a group of rag-tag beings. Some of you may not have fought in many years. some never."

I retract my statement to the Toa, realizing that the Toa will be a better escort that me. I hold the frying pan and say: "Forget that, I'm staying! For the Tree-Bright!"
