OOC: Subgroup leader: Ussalry to left flank in defensive and crossbow-wielding wedge.IC: Sulov nodded. Inwardly, he questioned the apparent lack of reasoning behind Kethrye's orders to form up for a charge on the left, but wasn't worried-he could modify them to suit his needs.Forming up into the traveling wedge yet again, the Ussalry trotted on with crossbows at the ready. Rama sighted were shot immediately. No casualties were to be had among the Onu-Matoran for that journey.But unlike the others of the Ground Squad, the Ussalry were moving slowly. The size of their crossbow bolts and number of nerve clusters in a nui-rama made it difficult to do much more than gradually shoot down the flying insects; this kept them bogged down even with only the few attackers getting past the other portion of the group. To make matters worse, the marshy terrain forced the Ussals to wade through mud. The Companions and 7th Squadron were rapidly losing sight of the faster-moving beings to the right of them.Sulov spotted a nui-rama and locked on. Aiming, he fired three bolts, but only two hit. The injured rama disappeared behind a tree."Uyism..."The wasp reappeared in a blitz of motion. Sulov fired again from his position at the center of the group, catching the nui-rama one more time. The creature spiraled down......To fly back behind the tree, only slightly injured."...Hav ju eferr handled a lanz?"

OOC: Toa Fanixe!IC (Lema): Lema brought his shield over his head to protect himself from the half-beast's claws, while swinging his axe at Lantz's midsection. Suddenly having two people fighting on its back was causing the gukko to veer around wildly as it tried to stay in the sky while avoiding the fighters' attacks.

ooc: He's jumping from one Nui Rama to the next.IC: The Hordika's superb Rahi instincts sensed the blast of electricity far before he saw it. He moved his right hand and charged a Rhotuka for a split second, then threw it towards the electricity. The Rhotuka collided with the electricity and exploded, the energy that had bonded it together dissipating in the air. He then arched his body backwards to avoid Lema's axe, but lost his balance and began to fall of the Gukko. The Hordika used his feet to grab hold of the bird and swung underneath, landing behind Lema. He swung again towards the Toa.

OOC: I still find that rather hard to pull off...IC: AlfonIrritated and surprised by the beast's power, he sent another electrical blast straight at the Hordika before steering his bird as it followed, pulling out a handful of wires and electrically charging them. Twisting in the air and pulling off such a feat would be much too hard now.OOC: Rhotukas are launched from your back as well so you'd have to twist your body...

OOC: Ground Squad Leader.IC:A group of four Rama broke through the barrage of elemental power created by Dendron, Ackune and Aelynn, attacking the front lines of the Ground Squad. Kethrye froze the wings of one of the beasts, finishing it off with a slice from his axe.Time to try out this new mask, he thought, focusing on his Kanohi. The Rama corpse's heartlight began to flash again, turning a sickly shade of its' former color. It's wings began to beat, lifting it up into the air. IC:The Guko bird the Hordika and Lema were fighting upon lurched to the right as it tried to maintain altitude despite the fight. The bird's movement ended up saving the Hordika great deal of pain, the heat vision just barely missing his shoulder. He sensed another blast of electricity flying towards him, but now he couldn't fire another Rhotuka. Instead he jumped straight at Lema, his claw about to grab the Toa's axe arm so the weapon couldn't be used against him and intending to push both himself and the Toa of the Guko to avoid the electricity.

OOC: Hey guys, I appreciate your help, but could other characters please refrain from shooting at Lantz while he's fighting Lema on a gukko's back? You're more likely to hit Lema or the gukko than Lantz.IC (Lema): The gukko that Lema and Lantz were on dived downwards to avoid the blasts of energy being sent at it, but almost crashed into a tree in the process, only swerving at the last moment to avoid a collision. The gukko's erratic flight and airbourne twists did nothing to throw Lema off his stride. He was a veteran of the gukko force and had many decades of experience in staying on a bird that wasn'y helping matters. Crouching low on the bird's back, he sent a concentrated beam of wind at Lantz, intending to blow him off his mount.

IC-Dendron:Dendon smiled, the Ussalry had been able to shoot down the insects that were coming. Good. He 'saw' one Nui-Rama about to attack Sulov, coming down from above, through the trees. He figured he'd repay a favor with a favor.Vines shot out from one tree over to the next, forming a veritable net that caught and stunned the Nui-Rama. By the time it realized what was happening, the vines were closing around it, forming into a ball, as Dendron also used vines from trees on another side of the clearing to pull down some of the Nui-Rama flying up towards Alfon's Gukko.The Nui-Rama he had trapped contorted itself, trying to get out and attack as some Ussalry members fired their crossbows at it. Dendron clenched a fist, vines entering into the Nui-Rama, depositing parasitic fungal spores in the creature's nerve clusters. The spores quickly began to grow, hyphae growing out along the nerve cords and controlling the Nui-Rama now.Large balloon like sacs poked out of holes in the insect's armour, filled with spores. The Nui-Rama itself was effectively dead, though the parasite inside of it kept the body alive, as a vessel to transport itself further. Dendron released the now-deformed Nui-Rama, allowing it to fly out to attack, and hopefully infect, its brethren.OOC: I just reminded myself of the flood, with that post, though I was first thinking of that fungus that takes over ants. Awesome real-life and Halo-universe tie-ins, that end up also working for the RPG. Woot!

OOC: Uh... How exactly did he 'sense' the blast of electricity?IC:Kahlynn fired multiple more blasts of Heat Vision at the half-Rahi half-whatever. He had little care for Lema or his Gukko, being a bit of a selfish prick.

IC: MehlnaiThe other two Rama suddenly found themselves with multiple deep cuts across their bodies. Mehlnai appeared beside the two dead Rama, her mask glowing faintly and a greenish fluid coating her bladed shield.

IC: The blast of wind blew the Hordika off the Gukko's back, but it was too late - for the bird. The blasts of heat vision missed their mark and struck the Gukko instead, and now both Lema and the bird began falling to the ground. The Hordika materialised another Rhotuka and grabbed hold of it, then used his thoughts to direct the spinner towards the falling Toa and bird pair.ooc: lots of electricity makes hair stand on end, hum, etc. and the hordika has awesome Rahi senses

IC: AlfonAlfon swerved his bird around and returned to its formation, dropping a handful of electrically charged wires. As they hovered nearer and nearer to the ground at a rather slow pace, they were nigh invisible like loose strands of spider webbing. Rama unfortunate to fly into some immediately began to feel its effects, being shocked, wounded, paralysed even but not dead, sending a few plummeting into their siblings or to the ground.

OOC: Uh... Okaayyyy.IC:Kahlynn frowned, shrugged, and flew on ahead, before dive-bombing a squadron of Nui Rama approaching from the east, taking out three of them as he rushed down, and they buzzed up, slashing at Breygo's wings and Kahlynn's face. The Skakdi then pulled up, doing some aerial acrobatics before clashing with the Rama squadron a second time, a huge grin on both his and his Kahu's faces as he did so.

Reordin yelled to Komisk, tying off three of his sharpened Bamboo Disks on each arm; this would give him a formidable shield to duck behind in case of a full frontal assault, and a way to slice apart any Rama down the middle as he flew by. OOC: Koskium, TD? I think you mean Komisk IC:Trakuda kicked off a tree and somersaulted, cutting a Rama's mask as he did so, sending it spiraling out of control into a tangling of vines. Unfortunately for the Ko-Matoran, his luck wasn't that good, his landing being hard and slightly painful for a few moments.He got to his feet and threw a Madu fruit at a tree, not harming any Rama, but disorientating an oncoming squad long enough to save some trouble for the Demolitions Squad as they continued their charge.

OOC: Thanks Wots. Now I'm going down to friendly fire. All in a days work for a toa-hero, maybe I can work this for the best. The rama will pay for this!!!IC (Lema): His bird was hit, though not by any rama or hordika. Grumbling about whatever dung-for-brains had decided to shoot at his enemy while they were so close together, he disengaged from the falling bird and used his air powers to create a strong headwind to make Lantz miss hitting him and to give himself a gentle landing on the ground. Rolling to break his fall, he activated his mask, gaining speed as he zipped around the place where he had landed. When he was going fast enough, he ran up the trunk of a tree and got high enough to leap onto the back of a nui-rama. The insect buzzed in anger, but then a swing of Lema's axe decapitated it.With his mask still active, he leapt to the back of another insect, and another, driving for the densest part of the swarm where every step he took could land on the back of a rahi. He has a green blur in the sky, stepping from one fly to another faster than the eye could follow. Whenever he had the chance, he would stab or hack at the rahi as he moved past.OOC: This might be my last post for a few hours, so I'm sorry if I don't respond.

IC-Dendron:Dendron felt a Nui-Rama crash into vines, a short distance from him. He felt a shockwave upon the trees, though it was natural. Nothing that could truly harm them. He also felt the air upon the leaves, forced down from the Nui-Rama flying above Komisk. A branch shot out from one tree, smacking a Nui-Rama hard enough that its armoured carapace broke open, greenish fluid and lumps of matter falling out the large, ragged tear as the insect fell to the ground.A vine shot out quickly, grabbing another Nui-Rama and slamming it into the ground, where hyphae from the fungal mycelium shot up to grab the Nui-Rama and hold it down, subjecting it to a slow death, the fungus feeding on its still living body.The third and fourth Nui-Rama from that squad suffered a different fate...vines and branches grabbed them, yes, but instead of immediately destroying them, they held on. Vines shot out from where they were growing on the tree, slowly covering over the Nui-Rama, and they began to change color slightly, thickening...now they were thick, a throbbing reddish color as the Nui-Rama fell to the ground, completely drained. The vines themselves then detached from the tree, a clear fluid draining out of them as they slowly decayed on the ground.Dendron then felt a slight pain in his back, and he kneeled slightly, though the hyphae and roots holding him kept him standing. A Nui-Rama had hit him in the back with its stinger. In rage, Dendron raised a hand, grabbing the Nui-Rama as it flew by for another round. A sapling shot out of the ground, its sharp tip impaling the Nui-Rama, as Dendron growled in his pain.A fungal growth began to form itself over the wound, covering it, closing it, and numbing the pain. Soon, Dendron went back to his work.

Lifting up his other arm, he laughed a bit as the blood caked his disks, and he took a downward dive, pulling his daggers out of the rapidly-spiraling Rama and jumping onto a fresh one, jabbing the weapons into the same nerve clusters he had used on the first.-Teezy

Kethrye grinned and sent the zombie-Rama forward, ordering it to follow the Rama infected by Dondron as it flew toward another group of Rama."Forward!" he said, pointing his axe forward and firing ice power at a swarm of Rama, the Rahi scattered and receiving only glancing hits. Even weighed down by frozen limbs or jaws the Rama continued to fly in the direction of the squadron.Kethrye redirected his reanimated Rama at this new group ordering it to sting one of it's former swarm-mates.The Rama ponced on the zombie, tearing it apart and breaking Kethrye's control of the corpse.Karz. IC: (Tarotrix/Near Hive)Words couldn't describe the rush Tarotrix felt. Being only a few feet behind Reordin, the sight of his new leader killing the Rama kickstarted an adrenaline rush. With a mad, savage cry, he charged at a Rama. Bashing his shield at the mongrel's wings, he toppled it to ground. Forcing any remaining pity he had in him to the back of his mind, he plunged his spear into its head.Fueled by a mixture of bloodlust and arrogance, he stormed another. This time, two other Ta-Koran Guards assisted their leader. Together, they quickly downed the Rama. However, although they were stabbing it rapidly, it managed to sting a guard in the leg. The poor young soldier fell to the ground, consumed by pain."Keep on going men!" Taro cried, trying to rally his fellows.IC: (Aryll/Near Hive)This was the most fun Aryll had fought in yet. These Rama were easy, almost like target practice. Focusing his powers, Aryll shot bolts of lightning rapidly at the bugs. It only took about three powerful bolts to cause them to fall to the ground. Twitching in a nearly dead state. of near death it would have been pitiful if he had any pity.He tried his best to keep one eye on the Matoran. He knew that if they died in too much numbers, it'd be rather harmful to his future prospects.

OOC: Demolitions Squad Leader.IC: Reordin (Pala-Koro)Reordin smirked as he watched Kethrye's zombie get torn apart and reached into his huge bag of oil-coated Madu on his back, pulling one out and examining it. Withdrawing a cigarette from his pocket, he lit it and let one of the sparks hit the Madu, tossing it into the swarm just in time. About a dozen Rama were blown to pieces. Score twelve for good guys.Looking at the cigarette, he shrugged and put it in his mouth, laughing and turning towards the oncoming swarm again.-Teezy

IC: AckuneThe explosion caused by Reordin was increased ten-fold when Ackune added his elemental power to it, killing many more Rama then it should have. Ackune flashed a grin at Kethrye and Reordin, and more flames shot from his hands at the insects.By now the old Toa of Fire was begining to feel the effects of using too much elemental power, but he ignored it.

IC:The Hordika screamed as he watched Lema run away from him, far faster than his Rhotuka could take him. He slowly floated back to the ground, and once he landed the Rhotuka disappeared from sight. The Hordika looked around, listening for where the battle was loudest. It was too hard to tell. It seemed as if there were explosions everywhere, preventing the Hordika from hearing anything other than the loud booms and the incessant buzzing of the Nui Rama. He started to run. The fight with Lema had driven him from the heart of the battle, but no matter. The Hordika would run, and whichever invader he found, he would fight. And he would destroy.The Hordika quickly came upon a strange sight. He had never seen it before. There was a toa surrounded by nearly half a dozen Nui-Rama, all lying on the floor, motionless. But it seemed as if the very forest itself had brought down the insects, those that the Hordika considered friends. He cocked his head to get a better angle. He had never seen a plant hurt an animal before. Then the toa in the center began to move again, drawing the Hordika's attention away. No matter. He would still kill the toa. He began charging another Rhotuka, one that would increase the gravity on the Toa and would bring him to his knees. The Hordika smiled at the pleasant thought. He launched the Rhotuka at Dendron and ran at him as well, screaming just because if felt so natural.Look at him. He's about to fight a Toa of Plant Life in the middle of the bloody forest. We have to stop him before he gets us killed!Not if it means becoming a prisoner to you again.ooc: Kal Grochi?

IC-Dendron:Dendron was preoccupied with destroying Nui-Rama, his senses nearly about to burst on him. "It's....it's too much..." he muttered, the roots and hyphae detaching from him, falling to the ground. Dendron fell too, drained, and heard a telltale buzzing as a rhotuka flew above him. He turned, his staff held at the ready, noticing some odd, mutated creature running at him."Any help?" He yelled, he doubted he'd be able to fight this thing.

OOC: Aerial Squad LeaderIC: Alfon"it's Alfon, deputy leader if you want even." he yelled out right before a Rama seemingly came out of nowhere, going Kamikaze on his Kahu. The bird gave off a screech of terror as it wrestled with the insect Rahi, spiralling to the ground in a frenzy while it's rider held on for his dear life. His sight was blurry with swirling, flashes of green and orange, people. Combined with the motion, it was sickening.Regaining his wits, the deputy leader put his palm on whatever part of the Rama he could grab onto, sending a vicious electric current into it's body, absorbing whatever harmful electricity the Kahu may receive due to contact with the enemy. A terrified cry erupted from the creature as it jerked and convulsed before letting go, allowing the Kahu to regain its balance and return to the formation.His Skakdi companion was doing a rather fine job, blasting a few Nui-Rama out of the sky here and there, the Gukko Force had joined the fray and were lending their full support while some of his squad had yet to join him. Hopefully they would get into gear and do so soon. Unfortunately, Lema had lost his bird but seemed to be doing fine, jumping from Rama to Rama...I pray he goes to get himself a new bird.

Thanks to their heavy armor, mobility, and range, they had yet to suffer casualties even though rama constantly attacked.Gavarm lit up from his position as one point of the wedge. OOC: Note: auto-hitting the bird is the same as auto-hitting the character, given the effect it has on Lema when he doesn't have flight powers himself.Strike force leader.IC: Madrihk"I don't know what that thing is, but it's definitely not a Nui-Rama," Madrihk barked as he saw the Hordika attack their flying troops before landing somewhere in the jungle.He waved for his fellow strike force members."Right, we move! The others haven't reached the hive yet, but we need to stay close. In the meantime, we'll check out that creature and see what we can do about it."He began jogging into the jungle, just as the Rama swarm reached the shores of Lake Pala. They buzzed around all over the place, but ignored the huts built by the ILS. They were after the warriors, and they were in the jungle. Buzzing through the trees, they moved to encompass the troops from all sides. Madrihk dodged one with his Kakama and shot down another with his ice powers, before looking back for his teammates.

He pulled his daggers out and leaped, soaring through the air at another insect two yards away. IC-Kal and Mussiki:Kal and Mussiki were running each to the side of Madrihk, helping to take out various Nui-Rama who were coming at them. Kal noticed the half-toa creature running towards Dendron, and pointed it out to Mussiki.Mussiki turned, looking at the thing himself. "What on Bloody Mata-Nui...that thing's attacking my brother!" He yelled, directing his yell into a sonic blast to harm the Hordika.

ooc: Note taken. sorry about that.IC:As the Hordika charged he was attacked, first by Kahlynn and then Kethrye. One of Kahlynn's heat blasts missed him and another hit Kethrye's ice blast and melted it. The third however did hit the Hordika on the right side of his lower back. He stopped and froze. The Hordika's vision went whitefor a moment in sheer pain, then returned to normal. He howled. How it burned! Now he even angrier than before, and he would make sure the invaders would pay. He turned his head towards Kethrye and hissed. Then he turned his attention back to Dendron and launched another Rhotuka at the Toa of Plant Life. It wouldn't be very strong, but it would definitely make defeating him much easier.Just then a Nui-Rama flew by to help the Hordika with the fight. The Hordika grinned as he watched the ally approach. Suddenly a sonic blast hit the Nui Rama and sent it crashing into a tree. The Hordika looked around, and began to realize he was slowly being outnumbered. He called out and hoped the multitude of Nui Rama would come to his aid.

IC:"Remembered? How could I forget!" at the second syllable of his last word, he slashed down the side of a passing Rama in midair, causing it to reel in pain. Pausing for a moment, the Ko-Matoran took out one of the Madu fruit and looked at it for a second, before kicking off a tree and throwing directly into the eyes of a Rama, killing it almost instantly.

The lieutenant tossed the Madu into a swarm a couple yards above him and lifted his arms; the concussive force of the blast was blocked by the combined shield of the disks tied to his arms.Laughing quietly to himself, he jumped off this Rama onto another that pulled up alongside him, watching in triumph as his former mount spiraled to the ground, dead.-Teezy

IC: I eyed the Rahi-Toa thing warily, reaching for my sword in anticipation of a fight. Something about the creature...unnerved me. It was almost as if...A whirring in the air behind me interrupted my reverie. I spun around, drawing my sword, and lunged beneath the Rama swooping in to the thing's aid. The black blade flashed in an arc above my head, and the Rahi crashed to the ground. If it wasn't dead, it soon would be, judging by the amount of sickly green blood leaking from its wound. Slowly, I lowered my blade, pointing it behind me and adopting a combative stance. The motion, the position, felt...right, somehow. Why...that was a question for another time.

IC: Volin"Here we go..." Volin muttered under his breath as he followed behind Madrihk and the rest of the Strike Team. Rama crashed everywhere, people were fighting, constant buzzing filled the air and shrieks of death erupted, hopefully from their enemies. Catching sight of the beast (Hordika) startled him but he did not relent. Instead, he took the initiative to attack.Figuring he'd save his elemental energy, he would use his Matatu. As the Hordika called for help, his call was heard and answered as three Rama joined him. Activating his mask, he used telekinesis to force the three insects down with sheer force, causing them to crash directly on top of the beast's area.
