Friar Tuck

IC: [Arkrak]Arkrak ignored the minor pain, quickly moving on to telling Chronn about what happened."The murderer has killed another being," he said, gesturing to the body he had carried back. "Died of wound in chest. Possibly a slow death. There's also another body nearby. Died from impact with the ground. May have been dropped from high above."He stopped for a moment."I require use of your mask."

Ic: The formation of ussalry toughs (plus two) entered the part of the cave the work party was expanding at last. The eyes of the soldiers, adjusted to the darkness they had endured on the way down since Goolu's torches were at the back, were suddenly assaulted by torches the workers had placed before, their wicks still lit. But there was nothing there, and the worker said nothing about it despite several caves that split off in various directions, all of them lit by the same lights. They whispered to Goolu, "Where was it? Here?""No," he replied shakily. "It was all so fa-ast... I ca-an't r-remememember which cave it was-s at...""Commander, reccommend methodical search.""Skvad, zerch!" Sulov commanded quietly, not seeing a better alternative."No, wait!" Goolu said. "The coldness... comes from th-the middddddle tunnel. T-try it ffffirst." They did so. Unfortunaely for them, though, Goolu was right. the guy was downright shaking now, and the soldiers could plainly see their breath venting from under their helms. They had arrived. The cave opened up to the sides substantially, no doubt due to the matoran's work. The soliders, however, understood that as a higher possibility of attack from all angles. Sulov commanded higher vigilance and held his launcher with ivory grips. But what was the most disturbing wasn't the coldness or the danger, but the bodies themselves. They were strewn in grotesque patterns. Some were missing limbs, others their torsos and even heads. Fluid was scattered like spilled milk, not just by the corpses, either, painting the walls and floor alike and decorating the bodies like a modern art exhibit. Everything was covered by a thin viel of frost, as if glazed over by some frigid sugar. Whatever did the killing was a vicious thing. But as they all surveyed the damages done, Goolu seemed entranced by the single fully-assembled matoran. At first he was curious if it was the foreman --oh he loathed that man's ignorance-- but found that he was another worker. His morbid fascination in the corse seemed all the more well placed as he took note of the intactness of the body, and if it were not for the frozen blood from his mouth and the stake of ice in his chest, he seemed to almost stare downward with cold, blank eyes, pitying Goolu for surviving the massacre that he was just now discovering. The thought that the soul of his dead comrade was whispering sorrowfully to him made him reel back, his mind suddenly taking in the reality that surrounded him.Truly, the dead did talk to his soul.Rubigo, in the meantime, kept his vigil, observing everything around him. The areas beyond the torchlight were faint and hard to see, his night vision very messed up by the torches. But being a literalist didn't hurt as much. There wer bodies, something killed them, it was cold, and his blades were sharp. That's what mattered most to him. For now, he only wanted whatever was lingering beyond the flickering lights to have at them.* * * *Stannis and the others, now numbering seven companions total, entered Onu-Koro. Their leader was distraught at the lack of conversation now, all voices since drained of energy by their pupperteers.

IC(Gavarm and Savulg)

Not wanting to disappoint Garme, Savulg charges forward right beside Walker and fires his rifles toward the being."What...what did this?" asks the Matoran, cigar in his mouth. He was now cautiously holding his crossbow even higher while surveying the bodies. This wasn't a normal Toa's work and certainly wasn't a band of Ko-Skakdi or something of the sort. Turning to Sulov, he asks,"You think we should be doing this? After all, this doesn't look like a Rahi's rampage to me."-Mef Man

IC: [Uyism]Uyism nodded, getting off her Ussal. She quickly dug several holes nearby, before picking up the body parts and arranging them neatly in a row. She was rather satisfied that she was able to do it so quickly, but she was somewhat annoyed that she couldn't find the body parts that had been squished into goop."Categorise," she said, looking over at the surviving miner.

Ic: "I... I can't," Goolu replied, thoroughly confused. "The b-b-odies are too man-ngled," he said, mentally adding an expletive at the perieved dumbness of the four-armed being, though his face was one of disgust as he saw the row of corpses. Some matoran, if one could call them that, were missing masks, others too distorted to be identified. "And I don-don;t rememememember all their na-ames, anyway."

Ic: "... Right," Goolu muttered, the burial doing little to still his spirit. True, there was nothing else for them to do with the bodies and it was the right thing to do, but something still deeply troubled him. They did die, after all. The emotions he felt were overbearing.Sudenly, however, he heard a faint noise and chills sipped up and down his spine at his memory of it. He recoiled backwards at his recollection of it. In the minds of those with him, images of ice being crushed came to mind at the sound of it. To Goolu, images of death came to mind. The room got even colder.

IC: Incommodo & Reichenbach"So you're saying that, while you were gone, the same guy's gone and killed two more people?" Incommodo asked.Reichenbach returned to the ground, shape-shifting back to their original form. The murderous Toa of Sonics then set off towards Ta-Koro, where they would find the next victim...And this time, it was going to be far more fun.OOC: Reichenbach to Ta-Wahi. I've got another PC to kill.

IC: Incommodo"You keep referring to the murderer as 'them'. Wouldn't it be simpler if we, for now, referred to them as 'he'?" Incommodo pointed out. "Besides, who else would leave a dead body, right on Chronn's doorstep?"

IC: Incommodo & Reichenbach"So now we know that the murderer is a Toa of Sonics, and is trying to taunt us." Incommodo said. "Any possible motives? Revenge? Insanity? Boredom?"Reichenbach stepped into Onu-Koro, and took a deep breath in. The Toa of Sonics walked in to their own hut, and hid the body in a hidden compartment beneath the floor."There." The murderer said. "That should do it."They then walked to Chronn's hut, picked up a stone, and began carving a message into it:Get ready for the fall, Chronn. You're going to fall.Happy enough with the message, Reichenbach knocked on the door, and ran off into the shadows, leaving no footsteps (as usual).

OOC: Who said Chronn was Holmes?Read the blog post. Everyone's having a fall. But Chronn'll be first.IC: Incommodo"True, but a cliff on Mt. Ihu would be more probable. Maybe we should just stay away from high places?" Incommodo commented.

IC: Incommodo"Then you shouldn't take any trips home. I come from..." Incommodo thought back to his home. He heard crackling, saw the flickering orange lights dancing across his mind. "Nevermind. The fall's probably metaphorical, then."

IC: "Form up into vedge," Sulov breathed, adding under it: "A zreaht tu Mata Nui muzt be ztopt" for Gavarm. The commander drew his saperka and laid it between his crossbow and him as he sat in saddle. Uysim probably thought that meant he was to bury the body impaled. He knew better."Prepar to feit," the matoran whispered, echoing hollowly in the chamber as he laid his hands on his repeating crossbow, the lifeline he clutched desparately for all it was worth...Muv snorted. "Zomzing zat iz definitely NOT a Rahi," murmured Sulov.
