OOC: Naryth's been a member of Bad Company for a while, TNG. He isn't here to interact with us.IC: Ultra Magnus"I CAN'T DEAL WITH THAT RIGHT NOW!" Magnus bellowed, unleashing a wave of ice upon the Nemesis as a distracting while he attempted to freeze Galvatroth's cannon (first lowering it's temperature tremendously to at least stop it recharging for a while.---IC: IlliciaThe last time she had been here, an army of bat creatures were invading and she was being bossed around by a pompous fool. Since then, it appeared the lack of consistency in the village appeared to have been it's downfall, as many buildings were charred, in ruins or still suffering damage from the Mystix invasion. What a dump. She didn't smoke, mainly because she'd never bothered to try it, having more important matters to take care of than sticking a burning plant wrapped in paper in her mouth. Her shotgun was in her arms; you could never be too careful in a place like this, especially when a lot of people here wanted her dead for various things she had done in the past.As much as she hated to admit it though, Dorian was right: Employers are never the most trustworthy beings, no matter their history. She should know, having been sent on her fair share of suicide missions by Sentraken (and surviving, much to his displeasure).

Ic: Brykon raised his eyebrows. "True enough," he said without further explanation. He wanted to add how he was Dorian's employer, but after their brawl he didn't have the desire to challenge him again, psychologically or otherwise. It wasn't that he had no fight in him -- quite the contrary, he knew how much more discord could be weaved if there was infighting."Psst!" someone sounded at the group from the side. "Psst! You are the one they call Brykon?" the girl whispered."Yes," Brykon answered. His people were raised to high alert, each looking their own way for dangers."Come! Someone waits for you."Dutifully, Brykon stepped forward into the ash-laden cobblestone pathway and followed the girl who beckoned them on. The warnings of his troops stuck at the back of his mind shoving instincts to the fore, instincts that told him to enter a fighting crouch and raise a weapon, though his brain told him this was what was expected. Trap or no trap, we have to do this. He gestured for his troops to follow behind him -- and be on their guard.

IC: Dorian (Xa-Koro)Dorian followed directly beside Brykon; the Toa of Iron wasn't holding any weapons, nor were his fists clenched, but the vivacious young Toa was still ready for a fight if need be. His spidey sense was buzzing like a nest of hornets. What are you in to, bard?-Teezy

IC: Feongulf -Whoever these people were, Feongulf knew they were trouble waiting to happen. She didn't plan on sticking around for it to happen. The Fe-Matoran stepped away from the group she had been watching, heading back in the direction of the docks. No reason to stay in this piraka-hole, she thought, glancing right and left at the docked watercraft. I can't just stay here and rob my former "allies". "Need a boat ride someplace, lass?" said a someone behind her. "Cheap!"Feongulf turned and stared at the owner of the voice, a male Ga-Matoran with armor pitted from long ago battles. Former Ga-Koro Marines? Feongulf thought, stepping onto his boat"Po-Koro," she said, handing himthe payment for the journey. OOC: Feongulf to Po-Wahi.

Ic: The team followed the matoran girl who scampered through the wastes as carefully as they could, though they sacrificed a lot of secrecy in the hurry of tracking her steps -- she was quick. ...Not that there was anything out of the ordinary of a heavily armed and armored team of mercs sloshing through the wasted streets of Xa-Koro. Finally, she stopped and calmly walked into an open area, a shelled out house. The table and the stone cabinets with the syringes and scalpels lying about indicated that this was once a doctor's office... or a pagan cult's abode; either way, it was creepy. The girl walked up to another matoran who stood in the open. He wore a black greatcoat with feathers and carried a walking cane at his side. He gave Brykon a nod and greeted in a soft, cultured tone, "Even in darkness there is light.""And mine are the hands that blight," was the return."Welcome to the next phase, 'Bad Company,'" he said in a strangely warm fashion, polite but not quite reaching friendly. "I am one of your handlers.""Do you work for Ambages?" Brykon asked."No. I am one of four who pay you. I understand you have already met one of our number." Brykon nodded. "Ambages is the third member, and the fourth... Well, you'll never meet that one, so that's not an issue to be discussed. By the way, how did you do in Onu-Koro?""We fought the NEX members, but I regret to say we failed to completely eradicate the organization, and their leader is still AWOL.""Ah, you're wrong on that count. You did succeed in killing their leader. Though the organization still exists, they will take some time to return to their former strength. When they do, you will once again fight them, though I am sure victory will be more total then. Here in Xa-Koro, however, your work is slightly different than fighting an assassin corporation."

IC: Dorian (Kumu Islets)Dorian merely stood, silently, watching. Whoever this Ambages was, he was powerful: powerful enough to have sway over one of the toughest fighters Dorian had ever met. The thought drove an odd uneasiness into his head. If they could make Brykon into a minion - a powerful one, but that was still what he was when it came down to it - he hesitated to think what Ambages could do to the rest of them. Him specifically."How different?" he asked quietly and softly, already having a pretty good idea of why they were here...-Teezy

IC: NPC ShadeThe Toa of Plantlife watched Brykron follow the girl. He decided that the area they were in would be watched. So, he improvised. He sent a vine after Brykron and his Company, a special vine. It was hollow, and if he put his ear to the end of it, he could hear them talking. Who is this "Ambages"? And they took out NEX? Interesting.OOC: He knows these things because the Shades have been around for a while, but have barely begun to act.

Ooc: Because this is an NPC, I won't bother with the standard procedures I would go through if this were a character.Ic: "This time, you're not barging in and fighting, you'll be doing some wetwork..." The Peer trailed off as if he saw something from afar: A gesture from the girl who had wandered off a little. "Mister Brykon, don't take me for a fool. You are being followed.""So I am," Brykon said, nodding. If this man was like Aurelia and Ambages, there was no point in disgracing him with lies."My girl found something. Handle it."There. Bam. An order from up high. Brykon's military instincts came to the fore and he immediately spiked into gear. He gave two quick orders with his hands.Illicia, on me. The rest, stay here. He wandered off, body hulking into a fighting stance, shoulders forward hands balled into fists, eyes searching every crevice, while Illicia remained vigilant, the sniper at the back.Doubtlessly it was the same being who had been watching them arrive. Curious spies, all over the place. But who sent this one? He soon found out. There he was, the spider, listening to a vine of his own making, so intent on his espionage that he wasn't aware that he was blown."Hello there," Brykon said in a gruff but friendly voice as he came close to the spy. "What'cha doing there?"

IC: NPC ShadeKarz! The Toa stood up, and slowly backed away. as he did, he called on his elemental powers to make a large stump below him. It was still under the ground, but if he needed to, he could pull it out in seconds. "Hi"

IC: Big ConvoyThe solution to both attacks was simple; Convoy fell back, and rolled back slightly when he hit the deck, so he could launch up and forward, likely ramming his feet into Galvatroth's chest.

IC: Since Big Convoy was in midair, and his flame cannon was temporarily out of commission, he did two things simultaneously to solve his problems. He raised up his sword, so that a perfect pierce straight through Big Convoy's leg would be in order. "I hope you can fly, Toa!" he yelled as he melted the ice on his flame cannon with laser vision.

IC: Big ConvoyConvoy changed the angle of his leg slightly, so the blade merely glanced off his armor, instead of impaling his foot. His feet slammed into Galvatroth's chest, most likely knocking him over the railing he was standing right in front of. After all, no matter how hard he braced, he couldn't just not move after a kick of that magnitude to a point so high on his body.

OOC: Autohit. Major one.IC: As the blade ended up on the side of Convoy's leg, Galvatroth pushed him aside with the blade, jamming deeper into the armor, possibly through it, and preventing his aim from striking true. He would either fall aside with a gash in his armor and possibly flesh beneath...or fall over the railing himself, having entirely missed his mark.

OOC: Not at all.I specified my attack a post before I specified it connecting. Your only response was to stick out a sword. You can't really knock both legs away with a sword, thus, the attack is valid. You didn't do much to prevent my attack. So it is not an autohit.

OOC: He didn't knock them away with such a thin object, that would be absurd. Since you stated that Convoy was grazing across the blade, Galvatroth could push, and not whack, him away. Not a sudden, quick movement. More of a snap-decision yet deliberate, strength-based movement. Strength being something Galvatroth has plenty of.

Ic: "I see," Brykon said, apparently musing over the answer given. "Illicia: shoulder."BAM.The spy didn't know what hit him. He spun to the left from the bullet's power striking his armor, though the shot wasn't intended to kill or even maim; it was just a way for Brykon to get up close without having to do something himself. When the spy's orientation returned, he was staring at Brykon's face point blank. "Who sent you?" be asked, polite as before."I'm not telling," was the reply.Punch. A powerful blow to the toa's face was Brykon's answer. "You change your mind yet?""No..."Punch. "How about now?""Is that... all... you've got?" he sneered.Punch. "Are you hungry?" Brykon asked. He didn't want for a reply; "Here, have a knuckle sandwich." Punch. "Changed your mind?""You'll never..."PUNCH. More forceful, more painful. Brykon, however, remained calm and soft... in his tone at least. The spy collapsed from that strike and the burly toa helped him up again. "You telling me yet?""I'm not--"PUNCH. It was clear that Brykon wasn't going to let up, and the spy's face was smashed quite fairly. The final strike shattered the Kanohi, causing the spy toa to lose half his power in an instant. This, along with the strain of Brykon's punches, meant that there was no fighting back at this point, and it was only a matter of a punch or two before he would succumb to the damage done. "Have you changed your mind now?" Brykon asked, fist arm up for another strike.

OOC: The blade grazed the inside of his leg. With the angle that would be at, it wouldn't be easy to shove him away. And it would be almost impossible to shove him away before the two-feet kick hit him in the chest. Not to mention, Convoy is a Vortixx, and this still harder to push away than a Toa. The attack is valid. Not to mention, it's hard to give a good shove when you've been kicked backwards and are off balance, likely falling over a railing.

OOC: Apparently Illicia has a sniper rifle now :P It doesn't matter though, since the shoulder hit would have the same effect and it looks like a rifle, so cool beans for all.IC: IlliciaKeeping her weapon aimed at the spy, Illicia smiled slyly as she observed the (plain, yet still satisfying to watch) interrogation, seretly hoping the spy would refuse to give in and be brutally killed, maybe even at her own hands.

Ic: Brykon was unimpressed. But if he could not extract the information from the spy, then the spy would not be able to keep his information. "Illicia, I..." he began, thinking to send the assassin to murder the spy, but then he reconsidered. The man who delivered the sentence should execute it, and this was something the Peer expected of him. Without another thought or word, Brykon gave chase. Each step produced a sharp pain in his legs and chest. Don't run any marathons, Dorian advised him. Well, foo that. This was a part of the job, not some recreational jog. The spy was lean and quick, but where it dodged branches and used vines, Brykon simply charged through them and knocked them down. It wasn't far until he almost caught up with it.A sickle materialized in his hand as he wheeled his arm back for a swing, and then he let it go.It twirled as it flew, flipping tip over tip, and then a sickening schickkkk could be heard as it slid into the back of the spy, cutting into the top of the spine like a talon and dropped the man in a single step. Brykon stumbled to the man and observed his last breath as blood seeped through his mouth. And that was all there was to see. He shoved him to the side and pulled the weapon out of the man's back, cleaned the blood off and absorbed the weapon, leaving no trace of his own involvement, and walked away, slightly disappointed in the failed interrogation. Was he a NEX agent? Or of some other organization? It did not matter, what did matter was that the spy's no return would send a signal to the organization. They would be angry and they would try again, and when that happened, Brykon would be ready. He emerged from the trees by Illicia. "It's done, let's go back."

IC: Dorian (Xa-Koro)Dorian, meanwhile, stood with the rest of Bad Company, sizing them up; he was well aware that after Brykon's defeat at his hands, he had become the most mistrusted and loathed figure on the team (apart from maybe Vossen, who had visibly been disgusted by the other team members since his arrival in Po-Wahi) and he would have to accept that. He also had to remember, however, that he would have to depend on these people to keep him alive sooner or later. Not a happy thought.Things had gotten very tense, indeed. The silence of Ambages' lieutenant did nothing to assuage his tightened nerves.-Teezy

Ic: "Mercenaries are always in the business of making people happy," Brykon said as the two walked back to the group. "It's how we survive." Brykon knew all too much about 'keeping people happy' -- it's what his life was all about when he was a ring fighter. Killing people, bashing their faces in, breaking bones, splattering blood and throwing heavy blocks at fighters who stepped up to challenge him, that was all entertainment just for the sake of 'making people happy.' Brykon hated it, detested it. Eidolon relished such fury, but not Senegal. He didn't shy from it, though, and it had become his standard as a result until he could not survive without the killing. And then Lord Antrim came, and..."Has it been handled?" the Peer asked as Brykon entered the ruin again with Illicia at his heels. From what it looked like, nothing at all had transpired since he left to deal with the situation; the others were likely too nervous to say anything."Yes," Brykon answered after breathing smoke in a long trail before his face. "It was a spy.""I know," the man answered. "Did you find out where he came from?""No," Brykon confessed. The Peer seemed uncaring, knowing that all things were solved in time. "Now then, as I said, this mission is a bit more complicated and less direct. It's a piece of wetwork in its original sense: There is a crime baron named Reichenbach. Few people know of him and his operations, but we know he is in town this moment. He owns a casino, The Final Problem, that is on the edge of town. Not too heavy on business right now, what with the recent... tragedy that occurred," he said, referring to the fires, "but it's still operational. Your job is to rob it and insult his 'business.'""And?" Brykon asked, not seeing where the wetness came from."And kill his guards and kidnap Reichenbach himself." The Four Peers had entered the business of eliminating the competition, and Reichenbach was more than a competitor in crime and assassination: He did not understand the pecking order that existed. Whether it was because Reichenbach did not know the order existed or simply chose to ignore it wasn't the Peer's problem, because if it was a question of ignorance, then he was going to be enlightened regardless. "But do not lay a finger on Reichenback; we need him alive, and in good health.""Would reasonably good health work?" someone asked."I suppose so," the Peer mused. "Any other questions?"

IC: Dorian (Xa-Koro)Dorian nodded once, fingering his cigarette thoughtfully. Slowly, his eyes ran up and down every member of Bad Company, starting at Naryth at the far edge and moving from there. His eyes stopped at Brykon, his own blue irises lingering in the bard's for a second, before he turned his gaze away and smiled, laughing quietly. His analytically mind was already in fifth gear, whizzing and whirring as the beginnings of a strategy began to formulate themselves blueprint-style in his mind, accounting for each and every member of Bad Company and their place in the scheme."Well, then. OOC: PM understood. Remedial action initiating. Soundwave-speak annoying.IC: Galvatroth was pushed off the ship, but was caught by his sword landing in the side of the ship. He shot his arm-mounted flame cannon (therefore he didn't need a hand to hold it) point-blank at Convoy, who would no doubt be too ridiculously close, especially after a kick, to dodge it. He, at the same time, climbed up, using his sword stuck in the ship as a handhold. "You've truly annoyed me, Maximal. Therefore, I would like to know your name."

OOC: If he isn't taller than the average Vortixx, I don't think he's any taller than Galvatroth. IC: Galvatroth took another stab at Convoy, while shooting laser vision at his hands, attempting to make him drop his weapons. At the same time, he shot from his flame cannon at the same spot he attempted to stab. If single attacks could not pierce the armor, perhaps a double attack could. "A one-man army? Ha. I was once Lord High Protector! Bow to me!" OOC: Lord High Protector. So much for that.
