OOC (approved by Toast of Awesomeness and Man with the Hex):Username(What do we call you?): Ultimate Alchemist, or simply “Alchemist”Name(Who's your character?): Patrick RadoslavAge: 37Gender: MaleSpecies(Include parent or dominion if demigod or god): MortalAffiliation(Work for anyone?): He leads a small group of archaeologists, but none of them are with him right now.Appearance(What do they look like?): He has dark brown hair, dark green eyes, and a clean shaven face. He carries the object he found (it’s about the size of a microwave, more on the artifact below) in a backpack. He is about 5’10”, and a little on the heavy side. He usually wears t-shirts with witty demotivationals.Weapons(carry anything around?): He has a pocketknife.Powers/skills(What can they do that's special?): He has a Master’s in Archaeology. He also has a strange artifact he found a week ago during a dig, but he doesn’t know what the thing does. The artifact has a globe on one end, and there is a red dot on the globe in the middle of Texas.Biography(tell us a little about them): Radoslav is a German archaeologist with dual citizenship in both Germany and America who found a mysterious object while digging in Egypt. He has no divine lineage, and descends from a line of archaeologists and historians. He is also bilingual, speaking German and English. Patrick has a slow temper, but rarely trusts anyone. He is also willing to guard his prized find with his life. Currently, he is in Texas, trying to figure out what the artifact does.About the artifact: It basically looks like a golden block with engravings and hieroglyphics. The globe is on top of the artifact, but still attached to the artifact. The artifact gives the being who activates it (only gods and adept magicians can activate it) a golden sicklesword with immense power. The sicklesword is enchanted so that it can pierce through almost anything, and the force of a blow from the sword is augmented so that an average adult could lay waste to a tank in a few swings. Since the globe is made of the same material as the rest of the artifact, it also becomes part of the sicklesword. The sicklesword looks similar to a scimitar, except made of gold. In addition, the sicklesword turns back into the artifact when a god or magician deactivates it. While the artifact is not in its sicklesword form, it is quite fragile, as if it were made of glass. (It is a thin coat of gold over a brittle crystalloid substance that changes into enchanted gold.) The object was originally from the tomb of a pharaoh, but it was stolen by a tomb raider (see below). Eventually, it ended up in the ruins of some palace, which was where Patrick found it.Username(What do we call you?): Ultimate Alchemist, or simply “Alchemist”Name(Who's your character?): TeremunAge: About 4000 years old, but has the appearance of someone in their mid 20sGender: MaleSpecies(Include parent or dominion if demigod or god): demigod, parent: Ba-PefAffiliation(Work for anyone?): NoneAppearance(What do they look like?): He always wears a dark robe, and his eyes look like swirling dark matter (when he is walking among mortals, he wears dark glasses so nobody can see his eyes). The man also has pointed teeth, so he wears fake ones to cover them when in public. He is also completely bald. Generally seen with a slight smile on his face, Teremun is somewhat tall but also on the thin side.Weapons(carry anything around?): NonePowers/skills(What can they do that's special?): He can blast bolts of dark energy out of his hands. Each blast has the power to knock a car flying. Teremun can also levitate a few feet off the ground.Biography(tell us a little about them): For the entire 23 years of his life, Teremun seemed to be simply a normal villager in a rather small town. Unfortunately, his village was very poor, and the town was also oppressed by the nearby Egyptian ruler. Angry that the gods let his village suffer, Terenum decided to rob from one of the tombs and sell the artifacts he found there for gold. Ba-Pef, who was currently not on good terms with Nun (god of water), helped Terenum learn how to unlock the powers he had inherited from Ba-Pef. In exchange, the god had Terenum agree to rob the tomb of one of Nun’s descendants. In a few days, Terenum had learned how to blast bolts of energy and levitate. He set out for the tomb of one of Nun’s sons. While there, he stole a wide variety of valuables, and among them was the artifact that Patrick Radoslav would later find. When he was back at the village, organizing his stolen treasure and preparing it to sell at the market, Nun appeared. Enraged at Terenum’s offense, Nun cast a curse on him, making the demigod even more fully absorbed in shadow. Terenum jumped out of his house and roared with pain as he lost his hair, his eyes took on the appearance of dark matter, and his teeth became sharper. Nun demolished the village as he left, and the remaining villagers, seeing that Terenum’s actions had brought about Nun’s wrath, swarmed Terenum and killed him.Teremun has now revived, the same age as when he died, and he has returned to Earth with the other supernatural beings, but the shadowy demigod’s motives are unknown. Remembering how his actions 4000 years ago led to his death, Terenum is now more respectful of the Egyptian deities. Teremun has learned how to speak English thanks to cultural immersion upon his return to Earth (Teremun materialized in an inconspicuous house near Dallas, Texas that Ba-Pef had obtained for him). He is currently wandering around America, but will soon end up in the middle of the conflict.IC:Patrick Radoslav grimaced as the light turned red. He had to get to Texas as fast as possible. He wasn’t even really sure why hefelt he needed to hurry; he just wanted to find out the purpose of his artifact before someone else – or something else – found out that he had it. Patrick turned his head and leaned back a little to look at the backpack by his feet. The dull brown-grey coloring had the beating of countless expeditions. Protruding out of the backpack was a corner of gold, with some intricate, mystical engraving. He looked up again just as the light turned green. Hitting the gas, Patrick pondered the significance of the artifact. Patrick had not rested since he had flown back to America. He didn’t even turn on the radio, as it interfered with his contemplation. Unfortunately, that also meant that he didn’t know about the strange happenings in the Lone Star State.IC:Teremun bobbed his head to the song he was listening to on his iPod. The song's Arabic qualities reminded him of home, of his past life. Meanwhile, a reporter discussed the situation in El Paso.“…rained down on strange flying serpents and other odd creatures. Giving her expert commentary on this strange turn of events, we welcome…”Terenum switched off his music and the radio for a moment. He sensed something, and he knew exactly what it was. That strange artifact he had stolen in his previous life… it gave off that same aura. The sensation was faint, but Terenum knew where it was coming from. Rather than returning home, he took an alternate route to trail whoever had the artifact.Terenum switched on his iPod and the radio again, listening in to the interview.“… not really sure. I haven’t seen anything like it. It’s almost as if all these ancient myths… they’re coming to life before our eyes, fighting for control over the human race. But these things, whatever they are, will not conquer us! We will unite to rise up and chase off these monstrous beings!”Terenum laughed to himself. Just like the rest of the mortals, this “expert” obviously had little knowledge of Egyptian gods' power. They’ll soon see, he thought to himself Soon, Ra and the others will control the heart of the world’s power once more. He had heard of strange creatures and beings that definitely weren’t from the Egyptian mythology he knew, but Terenum dismissed these as perhaps new creations of Ra who appeared over the last 4000 years. He had now pinpointed the exact car that was carrying the artifact. Terenum's dark, violent nature, a result of the curse that Nun placed on him, urged him to blast the car to smithereens and retrieve the object from the remains. No, he thought to himself, That would attract the attention of the gods, who would destroy me in the blink of an eye and take the thing for themselves. Terenum calmed himself and instead quietly trailed Patrick. He would only unleash his powers if he absolutely had to.

OOC: Uh, Ultimate? The mortals are all pretty much aware of the Gods, the government has fallen and the gods have basically replaced it. There's even resistance groups and army units actively fighting the gods.

I believe you find life such a problem because you think there are the good people and the bad people. You are wrong, of course. There are, always and only, the bad people, but some of them are on opposite sides.

IC (Cedar City, Texas)The radio station fell to Manuel's forces quite quickly once the defensive line of the criminal militia had been broken. Still reeling, what was left of the enemy forces in that area withdrew still deeper into the city, leaving another neighborhood in Manuel's hands. Groups of trained men took up positions about the new neighborhood, with raw recruits falling back to the neighborhood they had captured earlier. Manuel, by this time, had exited his command tent and boarded a jeep one of his soldiers had managed to salvage. With the radio station in his hands, he could address the city and...hopefully, break the back of the enemy militia at the same time. The rise of the cruel and murderous gods of old and the creation of amoral and brutal gods of new had left this city under the control of criminals, but Manuel knew quite few things about people from his experiences in war. One of this things was that they could take a beating in the end, even the fearful, when there were enough of them, could storm barricades and crash through walls and gates to do battle with their oppressors. The jeep stopped in the long out of use parking lot of the radio station. Manuel, escorted by two of his best soldiers entered the radio station, it was, as suspected, in working condition. Minutes later, a broadcast swept out across the city, reaching the radio's of the citizens, often times there only link to the outside world as many venerable broadcast institutions had been destroyed by the callous and evil gods that had stormed the world. "I am Manuel. This name means nothing to many of you, and perhaps it shouldn't. What you need to know however, is this, my forces have engaged and defeated many of the slime that hold you in their thrall. We will defeat them, we will crush them underneath our boots as we advance further and further into the city. But many will die, many good men and women if we do this. Therefore, I ask you this, will you not take up arms besides us? Will you not fight, at long last, to defend your homes and families from these vile thugs? We are not asking for your help or your aid, we are asking you to help yourselves.""We are asking you to rise up, with whatever weapons you can find and whatever courage you can muster, against these criminals. They are cowards, I have seen them turn tail and run countless times as my forces pushed into the city to this radio station. Fear them not, for they are not an army, but a legion of cowards who are only brave when facing those who will not fight back. I know you will be looking towards your loved ones at this moment, asking yourself if this is worth the risk. I will not ask you to throw your life away for me, but if you are a citizen with courage in your heart and ammunition to spare, I ask you take the fight to those who have wronged you." With that, the broadcast ended. And the sound of gunfire filled the city moments later.

IC: Erisa approached the three."So," she asked, her voice melodious as always. "I trust you're settling in well? Where's Jyrik?" she asked, noticing the demigod's absence. Jyrik was rather large, and hard to not notice.IC: Randall nodded, slamming into the ground as he sat, watching the forge.

IC: "...I ask you take the fight to those who have wronged you."Terenum grinned and shook his head; those humans had courage. And who knows? Maybe the resourcefulness and modern technology of the humans would win them the struggle in the end. Terenum didn't really care which side won. He just wanted to survive to the end, and perhaps make a little profit along the way. As he followed Patrick, Terenum was already formulating a plan to sell the artifact to the gods for a vast sum of money...

IC: Brian (Forge) Brian came back a few minutes later with the mold, which he placed under the melting pot. Checking the pot, he found that the axe was beginning to melt, but still retained its shape. Once again, he thrust his hand towards the fire, which rose in heat and height again. Brian sat down, speaking. "Should only be about 15 more minutes of melting. The fire's going very well today."IC: Inetrnot (Air above Texas)The God of the Internet faded into view as binary code formed his body, and then his skin became visible. As soon as he fully formed, he began falling towards the ground. Not concerned at all, he pulled up a holo-screen of a jetpack, which became real as he used his powers. Strapping himself in, Inetrnot flew over Texas, simply watching. "Looks peaceful from up here.. But it isn't once you're down there!" Inetrnot slowly flew down, not caring that he might fall into a battlezone.Zakaro

IC: Inetrnot (El Paso)"Cool. I'm feeling generous, so-" He took a sip of his coffee. "I'll help." Holo-screens sprang up, showing pictures of monorails and cats, as well as one that had a caption of 'MONORAIL KITTY.' He began to bring them into being, but the sounds of the battle kept knocking his concentration off. "Sorry, sir. That there battle be a bit too loud for my skills to take effect. Nothing I can do, as I don't carry a pair o' earmuffs around with me. I'll sleep until then." And the god fell onto the ship, asleep. EDIT: OOC: Sorry. This better? Zakaro

I trust that any mutual animosity the two of you may feel will not interfere with your capacity to lead?" she asked, her tone serious but not rude.OOC: Zakaro, just retcon him being there and have him show up in San Angelo when they arrive. :PI'll try and get El Paso finished tonight, if possible.

OOC: Well, considering he just flew into the sky, he could just crash land there. :PIC: Brian (Forge)"Nah. I'm a Blessed Mortal." Brian replied, looking into the pot. "Ah, good. It's completely melted." With that, he went over to where the mold lay, and grabbed the pot. Tipping it, the molten metal spilled into the mold, which groaned a bit in protest. IC: Somewhere in Texas... "Nice to meet ya'. Name's Kang," Kang replied, shaking the offered hand, "This is Shu.""Pleasure." When Rosa was settled down in the back seat, Kang turned the pickup back on to the road and resumed driving. "So, Rosa, what brings you to Texas?"

IC: As Gerhard reached Jyrik's tent, he walked over something carved into the ground in front of the doorway. Small, unobtrusive, easily overlooked. When his hand pulled back the entry flap, however, they flashed with an unearthly blue light. Gerhard found himself paralyzed, unable to move any part of his body as his eyes adjusted to the darkness within the tent. One hand was still pulling back the flap.Jyrik looked over his shoulder from the chair he was sitting in, and saw Gerhard. He nodded, and snapped his fingers. The younger demigod found himself able to move again as he staggered forward."Come in," said Jyrik, calmly.IC: Bellus felt something fasten around his neck from the back, before taking back hard. The god found himself hurtling backward, slamming into a wall. He looked up, and the brightness made him squint. The figure before him was the size and shape of a man- though obviously not human. He glowed with an unearthly light, as hot and burning as the sun. Flaming wings stretched out from his back, and his headdress was in the shape of a hummingbird's beak. Beneath the brightness, his skin was a strong, vibrant blue, and his left hand held a bladed staff. He was garbed in Aztec war gear, hung with beads and leather. The Aztec god's eyes narrowed."I am Huitzilopochtli, king of the Azteca, Left-handed Hummingbird of the Sun, and God of War. Who are you?" he asked, his tone ice-cold in contrast to the burning light he produced.Bellus stood up, eyes locked with the Aztec."I am Bellus. Patron of El Paso, god of war and anger, brother of Pax, one half of the Duality. This is my city."Huitzilopochtli merely laughed, sneering."Your city? Your city is burning. It belongs to me now. Your people who survive this, what few there will be, will turn to me. And if they will not, their blood will restore my strength. You have lost, Bellus."The new god shook his head, bits of concrete falling from his armor. His fists clenched, knives sliding from his wrists."I'm not out yet, Aztec."Huitzilopochtli glared at him."I will give you one chance. Bow and concede, now. Should you not, I will kill you and your brother, and burn this city to the ground."Bellus stared back, weighing his chances. They weren't good. So, he said the only sensible thing in the situation."**** you."The black armored god slammed into Huitzilopochtli, fists pumping like sledgehammers, cracking godly bones with each swing.IC: The heroes Haxor had summoned were valiant, but they were wearing down, though they had help from the soldiers and creatures on the side of Pax. Even so, the tide of monsters and men was relentless. Even more had joined since before, as the Aztec forces overran the city, slaughtering both the new gods' forces and ordinary civilians.Pax shouted from where he was standing to Haxor."Keep it going! I just need five more minutes!"

IC: A fist caught Bellus in the abdomen, throwing him backward. The god flew through the air, slamming into another building. The structure began to collapse, leaving Bellus little time to scramble out of the way.Huitzilopochtli's laugh was biting, cutting Bellus to the core. The black armored god bared his teeth, roaring. Missiles shot from his hands, plowing into the Aztec god before detonating, blowing him backward. The sun god rose into the air, face twisted into an animalistic snarl as burning light emanated from him.Bellus wasn't done. Huge gun barrels rose from the ground, giving way to black tanks, with no visible hatches or markings. The four constructs focused their fire, massive rounds slamming into Huitzilopochtli. The Aztec raised his hands, roaring in pain as firey light shot from his palms, destroying two of the tanks. The air heated up, loose papers bursting into flames where they floated. Bellus gritted his teeth, flying upward as Huitzilopochtli as the Astec destroyed the last two tanks. The god curled his fists, black spikes growing from the armor as they took the shape of spiked balls. However, the Aztec was ready. Huitzilopochtli caught Bellus with a haymaker, sending him rocketing toward the ground. The sun god's eyes smoldered as burning light gathered in his palms."This ends now, usurper," spoke the Aztec coldly.IC: Haxor's help had paid off. All of the gathered survivors had been evacuated, and all that remained was the two gods. However, Pax had no strength left to teleport to Haxor. So he sprinted towards the god, dodging bullets and monsters."Haxor!" he screamed. "Get over here!"

IC: Pax reached Haxor, dragging him away from the battle."I've gotten everyone I can. I'm out of energy."His eyes flared bright blue weakly, and a white sphere rose up from the ground around them. Though they were opaque from the outside, Haxor found he could still see."We've got to go."The sphere sped off, following the others, as the two gods looked back at El Paso, the city overrun.IC: Huitzilopochtli slammed his arms toward Bellus, a single beam of golden flames lancing towards the war god. Bellus crossed his forearms, a ragged black shield forming. The beam struck it hard, forcing Bellus down onto one knee as he strained to resist the onslaught. Suddenly, he felt Pax in his mind. The battle retreated from his vision. Bellus found himself in a gray room, completely alone, besides his brother. The two gods embraced. Though they represented polar opposites, they were connected.Pax spoke first."I have everyone I can save- we're heading to San Angelo. Haxor is with me.""Good. How many did you get?"The god of peace sighed regretfully."Around 40% of the civilians. There were too many creatures, not enough time-"Bellus placed his hand on Pax's shoulder. "You did your best. That's all I can ask."Pax sighed again."Still. I'm sorry we couldn't come back for you, you'll have to find your own way out.""I won't be finding one, Pax."The other god visibly relaxed."Oh, good, you're already on your way. Just mee-""That's not what I meant, Pax."The white armored god seemed confused, then shock registered on his face."No- Bellus, no. No! I am not letting you do this. We can come back-""No, brother. I can't leave these people. The survivors don't need a warrior. They need hope- they need a leader."Pax took a deep breath."What are you going to do?""Get everyone out I can. Then I guess we'll see what happens."Pax closed his eyes."I need you. You won't be able to manifest any sort of presence for months, years even. Even then, I'll probably be the only one who can hear you.""Haxor will help- he's a fighter. We're the gods of this city, Pax. We have to show we're worthy of that.""Bellus-""Goodbye, brother."Pax opened his mouth to protest, but the war god couldn't hear him. He was back in the fight, shield resisting the blast. He had only been gone an instant.Bellus closed his eyes, gritting his teeth. It was hard to focus, but about a quarter of the city's forces were still fighting, with one tank and quite a few abandoned weapons still usable. It was the best he could do.He roared, eyes flaring bright blue, and every surviving El Pasan soldier, along with their weapons and ammunition, appeared outside San Angelo. It took a moment for them to realize what had happened, and what it meant. This final act had required all of Bellus' strength, however. His shield vanished, the beam striking him full in the chest. His armor smoking, he slammed into the ground even further, digging a small crater. He felt a hand tighten around his neck, and he rose into the air, body hanging limo. Bellus opened his eyes, looking into the burning, blue-skinned face of Huitzilopochtli."Still you resist. A foolhardy venture. Wherever you've sent your followers, we'll find them soon enough.""And they will defeat you. You're weak. You're fearful. You're a monster who preys on the blood of his own people. You're a-""ENOUGH!" roared the Aztec. "It's time to finish this."Bellus did not resist as the sun god drew back his left fist. It planted itself in Bellus' face, and the armored god shattered like glass.Elsewhere, Pax sank to his knees in the sphere.El Paso had been lost.

Well, would you just look at that?

IC (Cedar Park)It was over quickly. The criminal militia's greatest weapon was fear and once it was sundered, they were revealed for what they were, a rabble of thugs and villains. Even those civilians who did not have firearms took to the streets, armed with whatever they could find. Some had pieces of lead piping, others had kitchen knifes, still others were armed with yard tools. There was a blood price, but against mobs of angered citizens, the criminal militia could do little. On main street, a militia squad fled before a seething mob of citizens, some of the criminals fired, their bullets hitting home. Seven out of six hundred citizens fell and the rest surged forwards. By the end of it, nothing remained of the thugs but trampled remains. So it was, all over the city this scene seemed to repeat itself. Pent up anger long constrained released itself in the most violent way imaginable. It was over by the end of the day and when the sun set, Cedar Park found itself a free city. What they would do with that freedom remained to be seen however. Manuel's forces had advanced deep into the city during the chaos, the remnants of the police force and the national guard were stilling holding the area around the police station and citizen's militia's began to spontaneously form in the newly freed city. What tomorrow would bring.....was a matter for tomorrow. Now, celebrations were the norm across the city. In the streets and in the houses, stashes of drinks and food were bought into the open and the citizens celebrated their long overdue freedom.

But he didn't ask and instead sat quietly as Kang drove, the radio the only other sound in an otherwise comfortable silence.
