Toast of Awesomeness Posted July 14, 2012 Author Posted July 14, 2012 (edited) IC: "Well...."She squeezed in her thighs, and a burst of golden flames shot from the dragons maw, lighting up the night sky."Oh, and 'he' is a she, by the way," she said, shaking her head and chuckling.IC: The god led them through the city until they arrived at their destination. It was an unimposing building, a simple Spanish mission of stone. The area around it was tidy, the grass well-manicured. Pecos Bill dismounted, and his horse trotted off as the god pushed open the door and walked inside. When they entered, one fact was immediately clear. This building was bigger on the inside than the outside by far. All the museum portion of the Alamo had been taken out, leaving a long hallway lined with doors spaced apart. As Pecos Bill ignored them, they thought it best to.They reached the end of the hallway, and entered a circular room with nine thrones. Pecos Bill took one two seats to the right of the highest, middle throne, and the gods began to appear. The first to appear was a dark figure, collecting out of the shadows before settling into his seat. He was a black clothed figure, skin completely covered, seeming to suck the light out of the room by his presence. In addition to this, he had no visible head, only an empty space in his shirt hole. His throne was black and ornate, decorative spikes attached.Pecos jerked a thumb at him."This here's El Muerto, headless ghost of southern Texas, and god of death."The next figure appeared as water spread into the room, collecting into a human shape in one throne, before forming the goddess, a young, Hispanic looking woman with dark, wet hair and a white flower behind one ear."Ria, the river goddess."One by one they appeared. Some were from Native American legends, like Coyote, the trickster god, others legendary figures like Pecos Bill and El Muerto, and still others were completely new, like Ria and Fiesta, goddess of festivities and happiness. The three in the center were all historical figures- Davy Crockett, Jim Bowie, and in the center, William Travis. Notably, one throne was left empty. It was the simplest of all, composed of wooden limbs and hide, decorated with feathers. No clue was given as to whose throne it was.Travis eyed the three warily, and it was obvious that he was lord here. He was a tall, young man, not particularly handsome, dressed in formal military clothing with a pistol and a sword at his side. The Texas flag was clearly visible on his right breast pocket. Nothing gave away his godliness besides a slight white glow behind his eyes."Hello. Welcome to San Antonio. You have entered the court of the Alamoans. I am William Barret Travis. What is your business here?" asked the god, his voice deep and commanding of respect. Edited July 15, 2012 by Toast of Awesomeness Well, would you just look at that? I'm a piece of toast.

Ultimate_Alchemist Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 IC: Patrick Radoslav cruised along the road, his car turning in to a gas station. He looked around cautiously. That being had been following him for hours, if not days. Patrick had lost track of time since he found the artifact. This being that followed him apparently didn’t want to attract attention, as it had never tried to attack Patrick. Deciding that the creature probably wanted his artifact, Patrick always kept it close at hand, just in case…Patrick exited the car and walked over to the gas pump. As he reached for the handle, he heard a low hissing sound behind him. Patrick whirled around, holding the artifact in front of him. But he didn’t see anything. As he filled his car with gas, Patrick wondered if that sound was just the wind, or whether it was something more sinister. After filling up the car, Patrick jumped in and hit the pedal. The car sped off, and sure enough, Patrick’s strange pursuer followed. As he adjusted the mirror to get a clearer view of his pursuer, Patrick thought to himself What should I do? I can’t keep running from this person forever. Then again, I wonder if he is really to be feared. Maybe he’s on my side. Maybe he’ll help me. Only one way to find out…Patrick drove off the road, and into the open Texas plain. When he had driven a few miles, he spun his car around and hit the brakes. He opened the door of his car, sauntered out, and said, “What do you want?”Patrick saw the other person stop his own car and step out as well. Then, the strange man spoke. “I’m a demigod, and I want that artifact you have.”Patrick tightened his grip on the artifact. “You say you’re a demigod? Prove it.”The demigod chuckled and shook his head. “If you’re sure…”Patrick nearly dropped the artifact with surprise when the demigod removed his glasses, revealing eyes swirling with dark matter. “You scared, puny human? Then why don’t you hand over the artifact before something happens to you.”“Wait,” Patrick exclaimed, “Maybe we can come to a compromise. I might be able to give you the artifact if you give me something else in return.”“What exactly do you want?”“You say you’re a demigod? Then how about I exchange this for the blessing of your immortal parent.”The demigod shook his head. “I cannot control my father’s actions. He doesn’t even want to get involved in the war.”“War?”“Haven’t you noticed? The Egyptian pantheon is regaining control over the human race. Soon, you will all bow before Amen-Ra once again.”Patrick was startled, but replied anyway. “In that case, why don’t we invoke these Egyptian deities to help us settle our dispute, and perhaps explain what this artifact does.”“But they may try to steal the artifact by force.”“So they are untrustworthy?”At this, the demigod became enraged. “Of course the deities are honorable! They—““But can we trust them?”“Well, there are some we can trust... maybe.”“Then let us invoke them for help.”Patrick and the Terenum began invoking the more honorable Egyptian deities one by one: Thoth, Isis, Osirus, and even Ra himself. They hoped that at least one of them would respond.OOC: Sorry I haven’t posted in a while, and I’m fine with the timeskip.

She gave him a quick hug, before returning to her tent.IC: Pax shook his head slightly, letting Musica know that now was not the time."Greetings, to all of you. I am Pax, god of peace-"A few of the Alamoans snickered at his title, but he went on."This is Haxor, god of electronic games, and Musica, goddess of music. We've come here to seek refuge. I am from El Paso. My brother Bellus and I ruled there until recently."Recognization dawned in a few of their faces, but they said nothing."Three days ago, we were attacked without warning by the Azteca."There was a collective gasp, and Travis' face went stony.Pax continued. "Their army was vast, too large to count. They had men, guns, tanks, their foul creatures, and even the gods themselves came down to fight."He swallowed. "Haxor arrived to help us, though we had never met before, but even so, the three of us were no match for the army. We were defeated, the city taken- and Bellus was killed."There is no greater shock than when gods realize they too can die. Protest broke out from several, questions, angry murmurs, and a lot of finger-pointing."Silence!" said Travis, eyes flashing bright white. He looked Pax in the eyes."I am sorry for the loss of your city and brother. However, I'd like to know just what you expect us to do about it."Pax took a deep breath."The Aztecs are strong. Three gods cannot fight them back, and they are sweeping through our lands. The only way we can resist them is if pantheons and alliances are formed, and we stand together against them. Haxor, Musica, and I, would like to join your pantheon. In addition, we'd like refuge for the El Pasans and San Angelans with us. They are-."Bowie cut him off."No. We can't go takin' in every refugee that happens ta' wander through. We have-""As I recall, James, I am Lord here. Silence," said Travis. Bowie sank back in his throne, sullenly stroking a large knife.Travis faced the three again."We must deliberate on this. You may wait in our home, but leave us here for now."Pax nodded."Of course. Musica, Haxor, come."The three exited as the other gods began to discuss. As Pax looked back through the closing door, the last thing he saw was the final empty throne. Well, would you just look at that? I'm a piece of toast.

Toast of Awesomeness Posted July 30, 2012 Author Posted July 30, 2012 OOC: Apologies for the delay, I was in Miami.IC: Gerhard was woken early by a tall dark elf, the grey-skinned, goggled being tapping him lightly. He left his tent and was lead to where Jyrik and Travis stood, separated by Erisa. In front of them was the army, loaded into trucks which ranged from pickups to army carriers to even a few eighteen-wheelers."Okay, everyone!" called Erisa through a bullhorn. Surprised at the volume of her own voice, she looked at it, but then continued."It has been decided that a strike force must be sent in to disable the flying machines of Abilene. We'll make camp fifty miles away, while the strike force goes in at night, accomplishes their job, then leaves. We'll take the city early the next morning, two days from now. If you have any questions, take them up with your next superior officer."As the last remaining beings shuffled in, a black Humvee drove up. It was military issue, made obvious by the machine gun on the bed."So," said Erisa, turning to Gerhard, Jyrik, and Travis. "I need someone to control the car and someone to stay with the gun. Any takers?"IC: Pax shook his head, cutting them off."If they decide to attack, the four of us can't win no matter what. Our best bet is to distract them and get away. They have over twice our numbers. If they-"As he spoke, the great door opened, and a voice beckoned."Enter." Well, would you just look at that? I'm a piece of toast.
Samus Aran-Bounty Hunter Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 IC: Inetrnot (San Antonio)As he stood to do as the voice said, he replied to Musica."Basically, I take one of these-" He popped a chip out of the USBauntlet and showed it, while continuing his sentence. Toast of Awesomeness Posted August 1, 2012 Author Posted August 1, 2012 IC: They entered the room, standing before the pantheon again. Travis' white eyes fixed on them coldly."There were three of you."Pax nodded."There were. This is Inetrnot, god of the Internet system. He's a friend of ours, he was with us before but had to leave. He just found us again."The other god raised an eyebrow, but confined."Fair enough. Now, the accepatabce of refugees has brought a fair amount of indignation in this Pantheon. However, the majority feels that the weapons and soldiers you have brought make up for this."He stood up, and the other gods followed suit."You are correct in saying that the Aztecs are a threat we can't face alone, as are the other elder pantheons. For the good of this city, we must become as strong as possible."He snapped his fingers, and four thrones rose in the semicircle. One was smooth and pure white, without hard edges. Two were digital, with running circuit boards and screens- however, they were early marked differently. The last was unique, made apparently of different instruments- a guitar as the back, keyboards as the armrests, a drumset functioning as the base."That is why we have decided to accept you. Take your thrones as brothers and fellow Alamoans." Well, would you just look at that? I'm a piece of toast.
