Friar Tuck

IC:Heuani descended into the immense tree. Its interior was ringed by a roughly hewn, railless spiral staircase that corkscrewed downward from the door Heuani had entered. The inside of the tree was dark, with only some green-tinted light dappling through the top of the tree. It was an immense and hollow thing, like a straw stuck in the earth. The open top was covered by a thicket of branches and leaves that let in little illumination. The Toa of Shadow continued down the staircase, around and around the cavernous tree, until he was well below the surface of the earth. Here was the bottom of the hollowed thing, somewhere among its roots. Between many of these immense roots were passages, dug into the earth, that led into complete darkness. Heuani regarded them for a time; he was probing through the darkness to discover which path was the one he desired. Having found it, he made his way down it. The path Heuani had chosen brought him to another empty tree, like the first but narrower and younger. This tree was full of vitality, and Heuani sensed it wasn't the sort to require a blood sacrifice like the first. His Master had told him something of the trees of Le-Koro. But another thing that distinguished the interior of this tree from the other was a pile of various artifacts stacked at the bottom of the stairs. The pile included dusty papers, a stack of extra disks, and even some survival equipment. It seemed that this tree was both a storage and a bunker. Heuani took a quick look through the papers, but finding none to be of consequence to him, he continued up the stairway. It ended some way further up, to a blank piece of bark. Heuani pushed against it, but it would not budge. Something else would open this door. Heuani tried various passwords, another blood sample (given by a flick of his cut hand) to be sure, but these did not work. A moment's thought, and Heuani came upon the answer. He hummed a little tune, a tune he knew but did not remember the origin of, and the bark creaked open to him. It opened into a modest hut. Heuani heard a chair that had sat before the door being scraped along the floor by the opening portal. He stepped through, entering the wooden wigwam. Heuani closed the door behind him, and placed the chair back where it belonged as well as he could guess it. Then he faded into an area of shadow within the house and waited. He waited for perhaps half an hour, and then the real door of the house was opened, and a short green being walked inside. His eyes glowed brightly behind his mask, belying the old age which his stooped step suggested. A bundle wrapped in leaves was tucked under his arm. The being closed the door behind him, and made his way over to a little table near where Heuani had concealed himself. Faster than a striking match, Heuani darted out and grabbed the elderly being, instantly grabbing him in his strong grip. The Le-Koronian almost managed to get a yelp of shock and horror out before Heuani spoke. The Toa of Shadow's smooth voice made his captive immediately fall silent. "Shhh..." Heuani hissed forcefully, irresistibly. "Quiet, Turaga. You must not speak."Matau grimaced, as though swallowing a particularly nasty serving of Kane-Ra dung, but despite his evident strong will to do otherwise, was inexorably compelled by the Toa of Shadow to be silent. He could do no more than look at Heuani with an impetuous glare. "Thank you," Heuani said pleasantly. "I assume you know who I am? Yes, I can tell that you do. No doubt Tamaru told you everything, before he disappeared. That's why I am here, actually," Heuani said, drawing closer to Matau. "I want to ask you about one of Tamaru's friends. Taipu. Do you know where he is? Don't speak."Matau resolutely shook his head. "I didn't think it would be so easy to find the final clue," Heuani replied with a light chuckle, "But it was worth a try." The Toa of Shadow changed his tact with subtlety, but definition. When he next spoke, his voice was still calm, casual, but it had a core of iron. "You Turaga are not the only ones that know of the Second Great Prophecy."Matau looked up, unsurprised but suddenly worried.

IC: AelynnShe raised her hand, like Onyx had, and created a copy of the sphere that he had. Or atleast tried to. The sphere that she made was a bit more on the square-ish blob side of things. That and the head ache started again."Like... That?" she asked, holding one hand to her head.

IC:"Yes," Heuani smiled to Matau. "My master will uncover the secrets you hide, whether you wish him to or not. The will of Makuta is unstoppable."Matau seemed to have rediscovered his voice. "We will not falter-break in the face of any torture you or your leash-master might inflict! The Turaga are strong-hard of will, and no shadow master or his pet-servant will make us cooperate.""We understand," Heuani replied levelly. "But interrogation is not in your future, Turaga. Very little is." Matau seemed unfazed by Heuani's words. "I do not mean this as a threat," the Toa of Shadow said, "but as an honesty. You see, Makuta has decided that it's finally time to perform a certain experiment. All that matters is that you're out of the way, that the chicken is without a head. I am going to take you with me, back to my master.""Experiment?" Matau scoffed. "Execution.""No," Heuani said back, lazily. He let go of Matau at last, but before the Turaga could move to escape, Heuani pointed with his pinkie at the Turaga, and Matau was immediately caught in bonds of cold, solid shadow that were repulsive to the touch. Heuani pulled back his finger, and sat down on a table. "No, death would be too quick. Your fate involves far less effort, and yet more suffering. He has something else in store for you.""You will not pull-extract anything from me, or my friends," Matau said, or tried to say, because another tendril of darkness gagged him. Heuani regarded the Turaga with some amusement. "We do not need to," he responded, picking up the bundle Matau had brought in with him and opening it. Inside were some madu fruits. They were excellently picked. Heuani took one and bit into it. He continued, mouth full of food, but still charming as ever. "We have already taken what was to be known from Kapura. We will find Taipu, and we will recover the stolen six, and then everything will be in our grasp at last."Matau betrayed nothing - however, the "stolen six" that Heuani had mentioned were news to him. Matau's noble Mahiki, basically powerless, still helped to cover the Turaga's subtle facial reaction, hiding it from even a reader as practiced as Heuani. The Turaga didn't let the Toa of Shadow know that, in his overconfidence, Heuani had leaked some information. The poker face seemed to work. "Excellent fruit," Heuani commented, noticing nothing. He tossed the ripe madu to the side. "But enough chatter. It is time to go."Heuani strode over to the hidden door, hummed his tune again. The bark of the central tree opened once more, and, pushing the stil-bound Matau before him, the dark and beautiful Toa of Shadow exited back into its hollow trunk. He closed the door behind him. There was no sign of a struggle or any disturbance at all, save a knocked-over chair and a bitten fruit. OOC: Matau is officially gone from Le-Koro. Act accordingly.

IC: OnyxAelynn's attempt to replicate an iron sphere resulted in a poorly made version which appeared more like a blob than anything however, it did have a spherical quality to it. This feat was a basic necessity and if she could not accomplish this measly task, much work and practice would be in her future."Well then, I'm going to be honest with you but I don't mean anything offensive by it. From the looks of it, it's clear that you don't exactly have the best control on how to shape your iron and two, I'm guessing you have a headache as a backlash from using your powers."Onyx unsheathed his blunt sword and dug it into the ground and leaned against it, the makeshift pole supporting his weight with ease. As he did so, he observed his new trainee as if figuring out what to do with her."Here's how we're going to do things: we'll practice for an hour or two every day. The two basic elements you'll need to master at the moment is the creation of large quantities of iron without tiring so easily and secondly, shaping it." he started."So what I want you to do now is continuously make iron ingots or the closest thing to it until you feel you can't go on. I'm going to get you to start off with the small stuff so you can get used to it and we'll move on to bigger things as we progress. Either you can try to make a ton of them without any shaping involved or you can take your chances and shape them properly however with the risk of making less."OOC: God, being a teacher is difficult :P

OOC: Yeah, BTW, I just noticed you past 2,000 posts. :DIC: Aelynn (Pala-Koro)"Oh, um..... Ok," she replied quietly. The Toa of Iron sat down, as she didn't want to go falling over, and focused on the task at hand. Aelynn chose to try and shape the ingots as well as she could, even if it meant making less of them. With each one, her headache got a little worse. The first one that she made was more blob-ish than it should have been. Her second one was a bit better, but not by much. By her seventh one they were atleast recognisable as ingots. At this point her headache was very painful, but Aelynn was stobbourn, and she continued to make them. She past her tenth and managed to make eleven. After that, the ingot's shape began to return to being blob-ish.

OOC: Past and "stobbourn"? :PIC: OnyxOnyx continued to watch Aelynn as he leaned against his sword, looking rather bored as he watched his new pupil struggle with the task at hand. The first few attempts to make ingots were close to miserable but improvement was afoot by the seventh one, something which gave Onyx a little hope."Stop." he said suddenly.

OOC: I have nothing to say there. Besides staying up way to late last night. :PIC: Aelynn (Pala-Koro)She did, and quite nearly passed out. The ingot she had been forming dropped to the ground half completed. Aelynn layed back onto the ground, closed her eyes, and waited for her headache to go away."How... did I... do?" she asked, although she already knew the answer.

IC: OnyxOnyx freed his sword from the earth and sheathed it once more, only to go walk over to the pile of ingots and pick one up. It was shaped like a rectangle but it still appeared to be poorly made."This was the best one you made." he said, crouching down to show the ingot to Aelynn. "Not what I'd call good but it's a decent start. Looks like your limit is ten ingots before you possibly pass out."The Toa of iron got back up and chucked the ingot back in the pile with the rest of them. Onyx walked back over to his apprentice and helped her up, supporting her as she stood."However, it made me glad to see that you focused on shaping, a wise choice indeed. You took the time and effort to do so and in the end, you managed to improve one by one and with time, that will become much easier and eventually, second nature." he said, beginning to lead her to a hut for rest."In short, you did good...for a start. Now go get some rest and come back when you feel better. Oh and here's a good trick: visualize what you're creating in your mind. It helps a lot."

IC: Aelynn (Pala-Koro)She just nodded, and let Onyx lead her to one of the huts. The Toa of Iron stumbled inside, and fell down onto the small bed. Hard didn't even begin to describe what she had just done.Aelynn didn't remember closing her eyes, but she was out like a light.IC: Ackune (Pala-Koro)The Toa of Fire walked up to Onyx. "So," he asked, "how goes the first lesson?"

IC: Onyx"In my honest opinion, her skills are incredibly poor for a Toa but at least she's quick learner and puts effort into her work." he replied, leading both of them away so their voices wouldn't disturb Aelynn's sleep."And you, my friend? How do things go with you?"

IC: OnyxLike he said, Onyx went over to the measly pile of iron and shaped every bit into a good quality ingot in a matter of minutes. It took him two trips to transport all of them to Ackune's forge area before heading on over to see the Ta-Toa."All set. Maybe I'll have Aelynn work under you to help you with the forge once she's mastered making ingots."

IC: SkrihenSkrihen took a step back, not out of surprise like before, but out of terror. "B-but, if they c-challenge Makuta, then we'll all be annihilated!" Her eyes were wide, seemingly terrified even to be near the place.

IC: SkrihenSkrihen took another terrified step back. "But if this 'Island Liberation Squad' tries to do what their name suggests, we will be destroyed! They will anger Makuta!" She paled, and she was already incredibly pale to begin with.

IC: Skrihen"Yet! You say you built this place recently, right?! What about the rahkshi in this region? They were recent! What if his wrath has already begun?!" Another, almost involuntary step backwards. By this point, Skrihen was starting to be heard by others.

IC: OnyxOnyx had been overhearing tidbits of the conversation from the sidelines with Ackune and Skrihen was really beginning to annoy the karz out of Onyx. Composing himself, the Toa lumbered over to the site of commotion."What in blazes are you yelling about?"

IC: Onyx / Volin"Yeah, that's kind of obvious but about what though? What's your name?"The heavily garbed Toa of plasma trekked through the jungle, using telekinesis to brush leaves out of his way. He looked shady as ever with his bounty hunter duster, goggles, hat and scarf, his entire body being covered. Having heard loud sounds, he approached the source to see what it was and as he stepped into the clearing, Lake Pala came into view. However, that was not what caught the Toa's attention. Fifteen feet tall walls of iron stood proudly and a large crack in them revealed an entrance and what appeared to be buildings."What in the world...?" Volin wondered aloud as he stepped closer. No one seemed to be guarding the entrance so he stepped inside."Hello? Is anyone here?" he yelled through cupped hands.OOC: Well, I've got nothing to do with him so I figured I'd send him over to the squad to reunite with his brothers. :P

IC: Madrihk"We built this place precisely to spit in the Makuta's face," Madrihk shot in, looking as confident as always. "He already annihilated the previous structure that stood here, but we're not concerned about that. Well, mostly not. Still, if you are, you might want to leave. We are going to assault the big Nui-Rama hive sometime later, so that's bound to draw attention."

ooC: I think you're thinking of the wrong kind of Fedora, there are a lot out there, notice the large brim on this one. It can be used to cover the face when tilted forward, trust me I've done it in real life. Also since I hate big groups, I really don't want to go to Ga-Wahi.IC: SevSev shook his head, "Wouldn't head to Ga-Koro if I were ya lassie, there's been quite a few rumors of murders comin' together. Karz, it's the same with onu. Still it's not as bad Ga, so we could go there if ya want." Sev replied.
