BioniCro
So, just for fun. Imagine a new movie, cartoon or something, based on 2015 bionicle property. Now, pick any actor you feel fitting for the the role of Toa heroes. Any whatsoever, I doesnt matter if they dont do animation or their high profile, you can pick just about anyone. They dont even have to sound simillar to the voices from original animation. So, here are my ideas... Tahu= Toby Stephens (Authoritative, but not overblown. Very cool voice) http://www.theplace2.ru/photos/Toby-Stephens-md4432/pic-363208.html Kopaka= Travis Fimmel (Cool, but not in classic style. A bit odd, but intresting) http://www.imdb.com/media/rm361144320/nm1379938?ref_=nm_ov_ph Gali= Katheryn Winnick (A voice that can sound both warm and strong. One of the rare actresses that pull women warrior thing convincingly) https://www.pinterest.com/pin/463659724108796447/ Lewa= Sharlto Copley (Incredible accent mixed with a bit odd but awesome style of acting. Very diffrent, very fun to listen to) http://www.liveforfilms.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/sharlto-copley.jpg Pohatu= Karl Urban (A kiwi actor for a aussie styled Pohatu. Really DO NOT BYPASS THE WORD FILTER - Makaru without going overboard like Christian Bale in Dark Knight movies) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karl_Urban#mediaviewer/File:Karl_Urban_2012.jpg Onua= Max Martini (wise and authoritative, but not in a manner that makes him sound like he is seventy years old) https://coolweakspot.files.wordpress.com/2011/09/max-martini-e1311695485425.jpg Opinions? Saint-14
Tahu: Meryl Streep (Devil Wears Prada)Kopaka: Meryl Streep (Into the Woods)Lewa: Meryl Streep (Julie and Julia)Gali: Meryl Streep (Mamma Mia)Onua: Meryl Streep (Kramer vs. Kramer)Pohatu: Meryl Streep (A Series of Unfortunate Events) Each role chosen compliments the character and their personality. I think good ol' Meryl could pull it off, and it keeps with the whole "hire one VA for everybody" shtick that Lego has for Bionicle this year Tahu: "You're not going to Paris!" ((I realize this the Office quote, don't judge me)) In all seriousness, though, I wouldn't mind seeing some of the experienced VAs from Aniplex and Funimation take on these roles. For example, Patrick Seitz (Germany in Hetalia, Gamagoori in Kill la Kill) could probably do a great Tahu. 1 Quote BZPRPG: Akamu, Toa of Ice Talk to me about Destiny! Toa Smoke Monster
All 2015 characters: Morgan Freeman. It could possibly make for the greatest Bionicle TV show ever. 2 Quote Everyone is one choice away from being the bad guy in another person's story. ToaDraco
Realistically, Kevin Michael Richardson for Onua. He is a very prominent voice actor a does the voice for Bulkhead in Transformers Prime and the high school principal in American Dad among other things. As for the rest, I would like the rest of the voice actors from MoL to return as the voices of the Toa, except for Pohatu who is now a gruff Australian for some reason. Quote "Avengers? JMSOG
I came in all ready to think hard about the actors I knew, their body of work, selecting the ones that would be best for each toa, probably getting some headcannon voices in the process. Instead, I saw this: All 2015 characters: Morgan Freeman. It could possibly make for the greatest Bionicle TV show ever. And realized anything I would say would pale in comparison...so yeah. Morgan Freeman. As everyone. It could happen, I mean he already has connection with lego because of the Lego Movie. Although admittedly having Michael Dorn back to voice onua is very appealing... 3 Quote Hi. If you remember me from when I was most active on BZP, from 2009-2011... I know I was cringy. Bfahome
Every time this is brought up I get all ready to drop my extensive knowledge of voice actors only to realize I've forgotten most of who I'd proposed last time, so at this point all I know is Steve Blum is in it somewhere, because Steve Blum is the best. (Steve Blum as Pohatu) (Also Dee Bradley Baker as every Skull Spider because he is the master of creature noises.)
SPIRIT
Whoever does Pohatu's voice needs to be Australian. Think about it. He lives in the desert, he has giant boomerangs, and he fights evil spiders all day long. You cannot get more Australian than that! Regitnui
Nathan Fillion has to do either Tahu or Lewa. Anyone who's watched Firefly should be able to see how he can pull off 'lucky charming leader', and Castle gives us how well he could do 'wise-cracking sidekick'. Morgan Freeman would make a great Onua, with his smooth measured tones. Get Yahtzee Croshaw to do Pohatu. I know he doesn't have an Aussie accent, but I can totally hear his sarcastic quips coming out of Pohatu's mouth. Failing that, get him to do Kopaka, for the same reasons. Or simply parallel them with a slightly new 'twist'! Gen 2 is NEW, it is NOT Gen 1 and it is NOT a continuation. Outside of the characters we already have I personally don't want to see ANY old characters return. I think it will cheapen the whole experience to those of us familiar with the original line... Gen2 Tahu is the charming rogue type, much like Fillion's character Mal from Firefly. Being the leader doesn't mean you're grim and determined. Quote Elemental Rahi in Gen2, anyone? Lenny7092
Well, I think the Toa's voice actors from the Mask of Light could voice them again, or I would go with new ones: Tahu - Clancy Brown or Hugh Jackman (played Wolverine in the X-Men very well, and sounds quite angry)Gali - Grey DeLisle, Scarlett Johansson (played the Black Widow awesomely in the Avengers movie in 2012, and fights), or Angelina Jolie (voiced Tigress in the Kung Fu Panda movies greatly) Lewa - Tom Kenny or Jackie Chan Kopaka - Steven Blum Pohatu - David Kaye or Christian Bale (played Batman awesomely in The Dark Knight trilogy, and acts like a serious character)Onua - Kevin Michael Richardson, Fred Tatasciore, or Mark Ruffalo (played the Hulk in the Avangers movie, too, and I thought he would be great for Onua). Regitnui
I'm clarifying here: we are casting based on the G2 characters, and not the old characters that happened to have the same names? Tahu isn't a grim leader, but one who has to be bailed out by his teammates. Gali is our Team Mom, sensible but can't quite relate to the others in a social context (can't tell jokes) Lewa is most like Tahu, except a little more happy go lucky and less risk-taking. Pohatu is brash and stubborn, less 'lovable athlete' and more 'desert wanderer' Onua is quiet, but the Heart of the team. He's most likely to keep the peace and consider the wisest move. Kopaka is a Lawful Good Paladin to the CCBS bones. That's why she clashes with Chaotic Good Tahu. We can't cast people because they remind us of the Gen1 characters. It's why I cast Nathan Million as Tahu, sure he's be a horrible Gen1 Tahu, full of angst and anger, but gen2 Tahu's lovable rogue who can get serious, it's perfect. Torchbearer
Lewa: Ryan Reynolds For those of you saying Pohatu won't have an Australian accent with the choices you've made, I'd like to point out that Pohatu sounds nothing like an Australian. I havent read or seen too much material other then online episodes, but Tahu still kinda reminded me of his G1 self. Yeah, not as gruff and maybe a bit more confused in the beggining, but... I just cant take him as any less of a while he is wearing that mask. That mask is maybe the most of them all (along with the one worn by Pohatu). And isnt Lewa supposed to be a cynical, sarcastic daredevil?
Regitnui
Apparently I did get that wrong. Tahu in Gen2 is an eager hero, the sort who would Jump At The Call. Still not angst leader, more the type who would become the leader simply by example. Quote Elemental Rahi in Gen2, anyone?
