He went out of Ta-Koro and found a few blades on the ground. That was when a few Rakshi had attacked him. He managed to destroy them both. "Pitiful." he said. Then he set off to the beaches of Ga-Koro.

"It does now." Jaller said, tossing a bag of widgets toward the former thief, which was promptly caught by his escort. Said guard raised an eyebrow, looking at the Akiri questioningly. They weren't village funds, nor guard funds, so where were they coming from? The unspoken question was stifled by a stern look, the silent coinversation coming to an end. "Have your escort take you downstairs, get you un-cuffed, sized for a new set of armor, and given the basics. Routine briefing for new members is tomorrow at sunrise. Don't be late."Noting the dismissal, the guard led the Ta-Toa out of the room to do his leader's bidding. After a moment, Jaller raised his voice. "Who else is waiting?""Toa Perkahn, a representative from Po-Koro, and a nurse from Ga-Koro."
The Akiri paused, pondering what order to address them in. "Send in the representative. Once I have finished with him, send in Highwind, and then the nurse. Politcal duties come first."

IC: The emissary entered and bowed. "Akiri Hewkii sends his greetings." He said, then got down to business. "There are a few points of interest I would like to cover. First off, the Akiri wishes to request assistance from the Guard in training Po-Koro's Sentinels. Second, we would like permission to establish a radio station here, for public use. The charge would be one widget per ten characters, and it would be operated and maintained by a trained staff from Po-Koro."

IC:Jaller raised an eyebrow, and regarded the representative in silence.
Both propositions were... Complicated. He had heard reports of long distance communication, which he suspected was what this "radio" was, and it could prove useful. However, it would also require allowing Po-Koro official presence in the village. After all, the unspoken implication, and his own reasoning, indicated that no member of his own village could operate it. Three months past, this would have been no problem. But in these times, it was a proposition to regard carefully.
Po-Koro had retreated almost entirely from the world at large, choosing to isolate themselves, and seclude themselves from society. There had been little interaction from them with the rest of the world since Akiri Hewkii came to power, instead, information came back from the few travelers to the village. All accounts indicated that they had been extensively remodeling their military, and building it back towards its former strength. That alone would not have been cause for concern; all the villages had done much the same. But Po-Koro's antisocial tendencies were very worrying indeed. If ever there was a village that was preparing for war, the Lost Koro was it.
The request for guard training had similar glaring issues. If they were indeed preparing for war, it would not do to train them in the art of waging war better. The combination of these offers reeked of way for Po-Koro to better prepare for war, and ways for them to learn about his own village's military. And he doubted he was the only one to receive this offer.
"I do not accept anything without reading the fine print." The Matoran said, after a moment. "What do you stand to gain from offering this technology, and why do you seek out better training?"

IC: "The Koro is looking to implement an island-wide communication system to better facilitate diplomacy." The Matoran said. "We believe that it would better serve our interests to be able to rapidly communicate with other Koros. As we speak, other Akiri are receiving this same offer. As for our request for training, well...I will be quite frank with you. Po-Koro suffered badly in the war against Makuta, and our Sentinels are depleted. To be able to defend our Koro with any effectiveness, we need our troops to fight at their best. And, quite frankly, Akiri, your Guard can teach them to do that."

I have no idea why I'm here. Drinking? That's not me. Personally, I hate drunks and don't get me started on what it's like to be drunk. One time and one time only, you get what I'm saying? With that said, it should be pretty clear I haven't even touched alcohol in Mata-Nui knows how long and it'd be a darn shame if I did now. So what other reason could I be sticking around in a bar for?
Well, maybe because I didn't have anything better to do. With Makuta gone, peace reigns over the island now and fewer less reputable jobs come my way. Not to mention the tension between the Koros. Military seems like so much more of a prominent force now that the evil dark overlord's been defeated, ironically. The guard's cracking down on crime like a Kane-Ra with a juicy piece of Matoran steak. Bad for business so I try to keep things under wraps, lay low for a while.
I don't like it. Peace, I mean. Apart from feeling constricted in my lifestyle here, it has become more of a detriment than anything to the island and its unity. Sure, technology and the welfare of the villages prosper now however it feels all too much like a competition, see who's going to come out on top. Things are heating up and until something, anything grand happens, I'm stuck living an honest life.
Huh, maybe I should take up drinking.
That would have to wait though as I spotted a Ga-Toa slouching at a table all by herself. Curious. Normally, I wouldn't even bother talking to this chick but karz, the need to erase my boredom was too strong. Plus, she was kinda pretty I guess.

I was already out the door by the time Nikarra said something; it was three in the morning and my shift had ended thirty minutes ago. Staying for the company was always nice, but after a while there's a certain amount of "look at me drunk i'm so bro night row" that a guy just can't learn to live with unless he starts to remember how good it used to feel when you could snap a guy's neck whenever you wanted. No, my time at the bar was done for the night. Leaving my scarf and hat behind on Nikarra, I began to weave through the gradually more familiar snakes and twists in the roads that led to Tuara's two-floor loft. In the last three months, we'd slowly gone from me sleeping in the best room in the Inn to us sharing an apartment together - she couldn't afford her old place, not without the Guard's salary to keep her afloat - to me buying her a loft for our "Yay, we've been shacked up together for two months now and nobody's dead yet!"-iversary.
It was a cozy sort of place, as conservative as Tuara could make a two floor party capital of the Koro appear to be. The steps were warm and inviting, with a "GO KILL YOURSELF" doormat and pouting, attractive stick figures - one wore a scarf and was handcuffed to the other, who was beating him over the head with a large staff - carved inside the hand rails. All pretense of comfort faded as soon as I opened the door, and even though I'd been halfway expecting it the sight of my place still stung. Bottles of vodka, bourbon, wine, even cheap cans of beer: alcohol containers were strewn across the floor, sometimes broken, sometimes crumpled, nearly always empty. There was a small mountain of shot glasses on one cushion of the leather sofa; my fists balled up as I noticed a bottle of whiskey that still had some drink left in it balanced wobbly-like on my piano. With a slow movement, I reached out and grabbed the bottle, knocking back anything that was left before spinning on my heel and hurling the bottle into a trash receptacle with all my strength. It shattered as soon as it hit the bottom of the can; I took a deep breath to calm down, determined not to let myself get PO'd.
If I told her once, I told her a thousand times: don't leave ###### on my piano, Tuara.
After a couple minutes of damage control, I moved from the piano to the stairs, making the stealthy, quiet movements of an assassin as I snuck upwards into the master bedroom and slipped the door closed behind me.
Tuara heard the door click very quietly behind her. She was lying in the bed wrapped up messily in the sheets. It was clear when climbing in she had tried to make them look neater as though the simple act of being in a clean bed would make her seem less guilty or less intoxicated. Obviously it didn't matter because it didn't change anything about the situation; and even then the blankets weren't any neater than they would've been if she wasn't really drunk.

IC: While Razor was talking, Loren jumped over Oreius' head and brought the razor sharp blade of his rahkshi staff down at the Toa of Earth's head in a blow that combined both his strength and the gravity that was bringing him back down to earth.
Why are there always more?
Posted May 22 2013 - 10:08 PM
As seeing the Toa about to hit him he brought up his shield to protect him, while jumping out of the way. "Infector! Where are you?! I could use some poison!" Then like a sudden gust of wind, a figure came from the street floor zoomed passed the Toa. "Running into trouble ey, Razor? How about a little 'home remedy' for a cure!" Then the Toa lashed his whip to the Toa who attacked Razor, hoping to hit him in the right spot for the poison to work.
Posted May 22 2013 - 10:44 PM
IC: The impact of the staff on the shield sent vibrations through it. While not odd in an of the fact itself, the way they did not subside like they should have was so. It started humming while jostling around so violently that there was a fair chance that it would simply rip itself out of the criminal's hand.
Loren's hopes that the battle would be a fast one were dashed as a third person joined the battle in a rush of movement and another one-liner. Acting quickly, he mask-jumped out of the path of the whip and to the side of the user. As luck would have it, it was also the opposite side of the hand that carried the whip. With the lightning speed of one who had spent who had lived through hundreds of battles, a series of jabs were sent at the side of the newcomer.

IC: Zeal / Ta-Koro - Lavapool Inn'Something happened to me.' Before his friend could reply, Zeal clicked his fingers, and the alcohol in his drink ignited. Dekuna looked on, shocked. Waving his hand over the mug, the liquid was extinguished. He looked up at the Toa of Sonics, his features stern, unmoving, but his eyes revealing a different story; he was afraid.'The last of the Ve-Koronians died with me, Dekuna. They're all gone.' His expression softened, and he hunched over his now alcohol-free drink, holding back both sadness and an unbridled rage.
IC (Dekuna): The fire in the drink, the new red highlights on his armour, the last of the kineticists dying... suddenly it all made sense. He hadn't bee talking to a toa of kinetics after all. But then, who was he talking to? He had only ever heard tell of one toa switching elements before, and that was just a crazy rumor. He struggled to believe that, and yet he wanted to because the only other explanation that presented itself was much worse.
If all the Ve-koronans were dead, and he was talking to a toa of fire, who was with a Matoran Dekuna had never met, who looked and talked very much like his friend, but was different in some very fundamental ways... he had to test it out.
He quickly created a field of silence around the two of them, shielding their conversation from the rest of the bar. "Zealokan" he said, his voice turning even sterner than the other toa's, "two days after we first met, you, Miha, Payiges and I met in the Epic Teashop in Ga-koro. There, we elected Havon as the team's leader and brainstormed names for the team. Along with Hau Karda, I suggested four other names. Can you remember any of them?" His hand went to where one of his blades lay in its sheath, but he didn't draw it.
Maybe Zealokan had somehow lost his element and gained a new one. If he had, he would do whatever he could to support his friend - he could hardly imagine losing his own powers over sound in exchange for some unfamiliar power. Toa got very close to their elements, and losing it would almost be like losing a close friend whom you had always been able to rely on, in exchange for a stranger. If, on the other hand, this was some elaborate excuse made by an imposter who had somehow done away with the kineticist, he had to know. This toa had known enough to tell a story about Po-koro, so he must have done his reasearch well. There had to be some things he wouldn't know, though, hence the question.

He wasn't sure he believed that Zealokan the kineticist really had to be dead. The toa had changed, true, but he was still very much the same person, with the same memories and experiences, loves and hates, loyalties and passions. Dekuna would continue to treat him as the friend he had known during their travels. That person wasn't dead, he had seen that even in the short time since he had entered the bar. Changed, yes, confused and hurt, very likely, but not dead. Not yet.
"Allright then, Toa Zeal" he said, returning to the topic at hand with his usual businesslike manner. "What is this thing?"

The Toa of Fire raced down the street, their powerful legs pumping, propelling them faster than any regular Toa could could go without a Kakama. The buildings flew by in a blur as they rapidly approached their targets: the Toa of Earth had been joined by a green Toa, and both were attacking Loren.
Jet Fire was slung over one shoulder; their free hand held a long, deadly dagger. With both Toa fully focused on their opponent, neither of them could have hoped to predict Oreius and Inu's arrival, which was as sudden and capricious as a lightning strike.
Early in the fight, their Kanohi Auporo had alerted them to the Toa of Earth's weaknesses. He was insane, first of all, which meant that he was erratic. That would make fighting him a lesson in unpredictability, but his mental instability would also hinder him in making logical choices, making it easier for Oreius and Inu to exploit his mistakes. His back was also completely exposed, meaning any kind of hit there would likely cause irreparable injury to his spine.
The other Toa was an enigma: he had appeared after Oreius and Inu and become one: their mask had not alerted them to his flaws. So the two that were one made the obvious choice: they ran up behind a distracted Razor, as swift as the wind, and aimed a deadly horizontal strike at his back.

IC: Temporarily sent on the defensive, Loren began spinning his staff, deflecting the attacks that were sent his way. Two things helped with this, first of all, it is impossible to properly use a whip when within the range the same range as a sword. And secondly, a rahkshi staff, unlike most conventional polearms, had a blade on each end. This allowed him to counterattack no matter which side it was coming from.
The onslaught only lasted a few minutes before he spotted Orieus running towards them, one of his rather painful looking knives in hand and the first criminal over his shoulder. Jumping up, he satrted to spin and mask-jumped to right behind the whip user. His momentum carried over, sending his foot at the back of the person's neck in a rather nasty kick.

I'll give you the antidote when we retrieve our lovely leader back." He then used the power of the winds and his Miru to fly quickly to Razor and send both flying up into the air. He injected him with an antidote to the Nui-Jaga poison.
"Now work together, and take both down with one blow. See the fire Toa? I'll trap both with a vacuum of air that will cause both to lose air. Then you will strike the critter on him and kill it." Infector whispered to Razor. "Okay, now let's have some fun." With that Infector spun around continuously then threw Razor at the two. "YYYYYEEEAAAHHHOOOO!" Razor activated his Ruru so as to blind his opponents, then he rolled forward upon landing and threw his shield at the Toa holding 'Jet Fire'. Then Infector swooped down and landed just as he threw the shield and began creating a vacuum around both Toa.
